Mega Man X4 & The Final Battle

This story is about the events of Mega Man X4, with some changes for the RPG. This is the first part of two stories.

Part One continued...: Mega Man X4

Memorial Hall:

Colonel walked back and forth, his metal boots clanging. Suddenly he heard a shout from above him and jerked his head up. "COLONEL!" Zero shouted from above.

Taken back, Colonel yelped, "What?!"

"I'm disappointed in you Colonel!" Zero yelled and leaped off and slashed at Colonel with his sabre, causing the Reploid to jump back. Slashing again, Zero advanced.

"What do you think you're doing?" Colonel asked.

"It's not too late! Stop the coup now!" Zero pleaded.

Colonel closed his open jaw and rolled his eyes. "Never."

"If that's your decision....THEN PREPARE YOURSELF!" Zero shouted and leaped at Colonel, who blocked his sabre with his sabre and the two began to slash at each other, blocking over and over. Finally they locked themselves in a struggle with the sabres.

Suddenly a girl's voice shouted across the room. "STOP! PLEASE! Brother, please! Don't you remember? Zero saved my life!" Iris pleaded.

Colonel debated it, then put away his sabre and began to walk away. "Very well then. I will spare your life this time, but next time I won't be so merciful..."

Iris turned to Zero who was looking distressed. "Zero, please, don't fight with my brother..." Zero's faced hardened and he looked angry and then he jumped down and began to walk away, his next words a struggle.

"Someone...must...stop Repliforce...." Zero said and walked off, leaving Iris alone.

Supply Train: Slash Beast (Objective: Destroy the Supply Train and Cut Repliforce's Supplies)

Zero telepored on the end of the train and immediately balanced himself with the train's bouncing and jolting. He barely so the bomb being thrown at him to react. Getting blown back, he grabbed the end of the train, the tracks rubbling underneath him. The attacker above must have thought he was dead, because no further attacks came. Grinning, Zero pushed himself up and then dived behind some crates, spotting the target. It was a little Reploid with gernades. Smiling, Zero flipped through the air and sliced the Reploid in two, watching him blow up.

Running along the train, he jumped across one car to the other and slashed a gun to bits as he flipped and slashed two more would-be attackers. Continuing on, he came to the end of a car and another one of those Reploids he fought eariler ran up and threw a bomb at the connecting metal bar between the two cars, blowing them up. Unfortantly for this one, he lost his balance and fell off the edge and died immediately, battery fluid splurting up.

Zero did a run jump to the other car, barely making it. He barely glanced behind him, seeing the other cars stopping. Shrugging, he continued on through the defenses and came across another stunt. This time the guy didn't fall in, but Zero picked him off when he landed to safety. Continuing on, he finally came to the half-way point, and took out the mid-way boss just as the train entered the tunnel.

Things were beginning to get dark, now. Zero continued along the train, destroying all restistancing force with ease. So far he had estained a small amount of damage. He continued until the train came to a stop. Jumping off, he went down the tracks, which had been utterly destroyed. Barely making his way across them, Zero leaped onto the train that had been moved over them and it immediately started up. He destroyed two guns and another gernade Reploid and came to the front of ther train, where tons of cargo boxes blocked both escapes.

Suddenly Slash Beast came running up beside the train and leaped onto it, snarling. "You dared to attack my unit?!" he said in outrage. Pulling back some, he puffed up his chest. "I'm going to enjoy fighting you!"

Roaring in anger, Slash Beast leaped through the air and punched at Zero, who jumped off the wall and landed beside him, slashing Slash Beast. Beast got his fist caught in the wall and jerked back, ramming at Zero once more, who easily dodged the hotheaded Reploid and slashing him once more.

Slash Beast ran too quickly this time and smashed Zero into the wall, dropping his energy alot. He began to feel sluggish, and all the other battles he had been having that day began to add up to him and he began to get dizzy. Slash Beast took this and smashed him into the wall again.

Zero flipped through the air and slashed him once more, landing behind him and weaving back and forth. Slash did a half flip and fired off green things. One smashed into Zero as he tried to dodge. As Beast was coming to ram him again, Zero began to do a X move and bounced off the wall and landed on the opposite wall and then jump into the air and come crashing down in another location. He slashed the surprised Reploid twice and jumped back.

Beast recoiled backwards, trying to get his balance as Zero jumped him again and slashed him again, slamming Beast into the wall. Beast began to blow up in a brillant light. Zero, smiled in relief and did a thumbs up and teleported out of there.

Abanded Bio Lab: Split Mushroom (Objective: Find out what lurks out there)

Mega Man X panted, holding his bleeding side and trying to keep on fighting, while the Reploid in front of him, Split Mushroom, kept taunting him. X probably had him down half-way, but he wasn't going to last much longer. He was trapped in a small area and the Maverick had more energy than any other Maverick X had faced before. And now he was moving in for the kill....

20 minutes eariler, however, X was doing fine. He teleported in to check out the sightings out here of strange experiments. And this was a Repliforce agent either. So it had fallen into his department.

X quickly began to the stairway and was ambushed by incredible foes. Blasting his way through him, he reached a teleporter and teleported to another part of the lab. Drilling machines were making the roof fall on X, and he had to keep jumping ahead just to surive. The entire ground was shaking and he could hardly hold on.

Walking through the doors at the end of the deadly trap, he arrived a serires of ladders which lead up. Working his way up, X began to get blasted on, and he barely made it to the top before more reinforcements arrived. Whoever this guy was, he was will equiped.

X then made his way left, jumping across the open space to the other side and came across a mini-boss. Though tricky, the robot was no match for X's powerful blaster and he arrived in the second tower of this deadly playground. Heading his way up a newstairway, X learned a new defination of hightailing.

Arriving at the teleporter at the end, X teleported to a similiar spot but there utter chaos was going on. Working his way through the twisted vines, and traps, he arrived in an elevator which began it's way up. Metal plants leaped out of the wall, trying to blast him and impale him. Dodging them, the elevator soon broke down on him.

He began to scale the wall, and soon arrived at the top. Getting a repair-up, X realised he had been severly torn up and was panting hard. He then leaped through the Reploid Master Doors and found himself stuck in a small area. The wall had been torn down and he found himself very high up. But his thoughts were broken when a Reploid came falling down and puffed out steam.

"Are you X? I'm under orders to terminate you."

"What?! Who's orders?" X exclaimed, breathing heavily with the pain.

"Take a wild guess," Split said evilly and launched himself at X, who jumped over him and blasted him. Split jumped onto the wall, dodging it, and began to create clones of himself and launched them at X, who had to dodge them. Then Split made a super clone of himself and began to run around. X got rammed and staggered back.

Firing off several shots, he blasted the real Split and caused him some damage. Leaping onto the opposite wall, he blasted Split again, causing more damage, but the Maverick had to have at least 50% life, while X was hitting 20%. He wasn't going to win.

And that's where he had left off, letting his thoughts trail. Split advanced on him, giggling madly. X growled and launched himself off the wall and punched Split and blasted him at close range. 35% life maybe. Split blasted him and sent X staggering back, having only 10% life. Looking at the destroyed wall, and the moon looking down, X got an idea. Grabbing Split before he could go into another barrell of attacks, he launched them both over the wall, but X grabbed onto one of the vines as Split fell down, down, but he grabbed X's foot.

Blacking out from the loss of battery fluid, X began to lose his grip. Knowing he had only one chance, he pointed his blaster down and fired with all his might and hit Split, causing him to let go and fall, fall, fall....until their was a bright explosion from way down there. X had won, but he was losing it and his grip was slipping. He hit his teleporter option and passed out as he teleported blindly back to base.

Artic Base: Frost Walrus (Objective: Destroy the hidden weapon there)

Zero stood in the small base where Captain Death Star and Captain Eradicator where postioned, far from where Frost Walrus was. Death Star had a tight look on his face. "Welcome, Commander Zero."

"Have you met any Maverick resistance up here?" asked Zero.

"None. It is clean here. Though I have been keeping tabs on the Repliforce news. We have the exact location of Frost Walrus' base and all data on it," Death Star informed him. He nodded at Eradicator as he sat down. Eradicator cleared his throat.

"This weapon must be very important to Repliforce. We believe it's some kinda weapon to attack flying targets. We believe that Repliforce might try to take to the air and this weapon will destroy any ships interferring with this. So, the base is heavily guarded. There are two bases. The base where Walrus is and the weapon, and the other base is full of troops to assist him and they have other duties that we do not know about yet, sir," he told him.

"Taking to the air? I believe you're right, and this isn't good. Okay, I'm going to attack Walrus' base and take out this weapon. I want you two to take your squads and destroy the reinforcement base and any defenses protecting the base I'm hitting that I can not take out," Zero informed them.

"Are you sure you do not want any of our troops to go with you?" asked Death Star.

"Negative, Captain. I work better alone. I'm heading out now. You two prepare and leave ASAP," Zero said and teleported out of there. Death Star turned to Eradicator. "Lets get going."

Zero arrived in the snowy blizzard. Looking around, he charged on ahead, destroying two Reploids and then came to a solid wall of blocked ice. Frowning, he began to slice at it with his sabre. He began to chip away at it, it slowy beginning to be destroyed. Finally he charged the sabre and slashed with all his might, destroying multiple blocks of ice at once. He continued doing this, working his way through the blocks of ice until he reached the other side.

Destroying some more Reploids, he began to head his way down a frozen water fall, trying not to slip on the thin ice. He slipped at one point and barely managed to save himself. Sighing with relief, he continued down, more cautious. He finally reached the bottom and walked through the door and found himself trapped in a small room with a mini-boss. It began to fire ice spikes at him.

Sliding across the ground, Zero slashed the robot and slid around some more, trying to dodge the attacks. He began to slash it repeadly, until it finally blew up, leveling the wall and allowing him to continue.

Death Star stood and watched the two squadrons finish off the base. He turned to Eradicator and allowed a tight smile. "Well, we did it."

Eradicator frowned. "That's what YOU think, loser," he snarled and blasted Death Star back, causing him to crash into the snow. "My squadron right now is taking yours out," he said, grinning coldly. "And then we'll all head on over and take out Zero. He'll be over powered. Looks like you lose." He pointed his blaster again and fired a super shot, turned his back on the smoking heap, and walked off to the sounds of surprise shouts and blasts.

Zero had finished off quite a few Reploids and was at another series of blocked ice. He began to slowly chip his way through them. He knew he had taken hours to get this far. By now the other two Hunters should have finished off that base and be waiting for his signal to come on in and destroy the weapon as he continued onto his next target.

Slowly chipping, he finally began to break through, chipping faster and faster.

X found himself in the Med Lab. Dr. Cain stood over him and shook his head. "You took a lot of damage during that fight. Thankfully you were found by X1 and he brought you to me. You almost had it," he said.

Groaning, X shook himself some. "How long have I been out?" he asked.

"3 to 4 hours. Just about as long as we've last heard word from Zero, who was heading up to the Artic to take care of a Repliforce agent there. It's almost dark now," Dr. Cain commented.

"Do you think he needs help?" asked X.

"No, if he does he has two squadrons of Hunters up there."

"True...I'm going to go power up some and hit my last target," X told him and walked off slowly, still a little stiff.

Captain Tolerance looked over the destoryed city. It was almost dusk, and his men were returning from a day of helping the wounded. He was about to have them all head back to HQ when suddenly Mavericks teleported down and began to open fire on his group. Three of his men fell right away as the rest took cover.

He looked around and knew they were surronded. They weren't going to escape. He tried to contact HQ, but the signal was jammed. "Damn..." he muttered to himself and turned to look at his remaining six men. They knew the same thing. "Lets fight bravely, and not be taken down without a fight!" he said and began to blast away at the Mavericks, his men following suit. Hopefully HQ would realise they hadn't contacted them for awhile and arrive in time to save a few of them....

X-Captain Eradicator stood over his squad. He had lost half of his men battling Death Star's squad. This wasn't good, but there was still the reinforcements inside. There was barely enough to destroy Zero. He was about to bark out orders when he felt something enter him quickly. Looking down, he saw the tip of a sabre sticking out and heard a fimiliar voice behind him. "Next time, make sure your enemies are dead, jerk." The sabre was jerked up rapidly, hitting vital spots. He fell to the ground, rolling over to see a hurt, bleeding Death Star standing over him. His vision faded, and he could hear Death Star throwing the bombs that were meant for the base at his squads, blowing them away..... and then the loud explosion of the base.....killing most of the reinforcements inside.

Cursing the Hunter, Eradicator gasped a little and let darkness take him, his body going limp, and finally it exploded in a brilliant light.

Zero reached the door to the weapon, finally, after hours of blocks of ice. He was slightly annoyed by all this too. He quickly dashed into the room and fell into this thick fog. Glancing to his left, he looked at the computer system. The gun must be on the outside. Suddenly there was a loud clanging sound coming from within the fog and a huge shape came out.

"What's that blonde kid up to?! I don't have time for you, junior," Frost taunted.

"Hey! Shut up and fight already!" Zero snarled.

"Oh, now that does it, you're goin' down!" Frost snarled and dashed forward, sliding across. Zero slashed him and bounced off the wall and landed behind him, slashing the Reploid repeatedly before he could turn his big bulk around. He kept repeating this until the Reploid was destroyed. He decided to blow the weapon up himself, and entered the self-destruct code of the base and teleported out of there.

Death Star had thrown the reminder of the bombs into the base, moments eariler, and taken it out. The remaining Mavericks were gone now, but he could feel himself going numb from his injuries. Slumping down next to Eradicator, he hit his Hunter Com-link and muttered into it, "Captain.....Death...Sta...r..... he...l...p...." He then passed out, the snow beginning to pile on him.

The Com crackled to life, and a familiar voice came across it, snapping DS awake again. "'Ello, Marty's Pizza Palace, 20 minutes or you don't get any pizza." Death Star cocked his head. X1?!

"Need...help..." Death Star croaked.

"Hey, what do I look like, the operator? Call 911 or something," X1 said.

Death Star bit his tongue from saying what he wanted to say, which would take too long and he was needless to say dying here. "D-dying..."

"...for a Coke?"

Death Star rolled his eyes and almost passed out again. "Send help...p-please," he moaned, trying to get help desperately. He was almost about to lose it.

"With cherries and sprinkles on top?" X1 asked innocently.

Death Star lost it. "Shut..."

"... the door? Man, you are delirous."

Death Star let out a small sigh of defeat. "H-help..." he moaned again.

Cain walked up to X1 back at HQ. "X1!!!"

X1 jumped out of his seat. He was an old robot invented by Dr. Thomas Light as a Proto-type to X. He had some unfortant...disadvantages. "What?" he asked.

"That's the distress signal, Death Star needs help!!" Cain yelled.

".....this will NOT look good on my resume...." X1 muttered to himself as help was sent.

Cyberspace: Cyber Peacock (Objective: Destroy him)

X walked to the front of the area known as Cyberspace. Not a friendly neighborhood. And Double was there. X recalled not having seen him for the past few hours while he fought the Mavericks. "Double?" he asked.

"I'm here. Cain sent me to tell you when you get done, there's an important meeting. Zero is finishing up the final Repliforce agent and it seems something is coming down," Double informed him and teleported out of there. X sighed and began to race through Cyberspace, taking out the orbs and Mavericks, slowy working a way through the maze. He finally reached the end where Cyber Peacock formed out of no-where and scanned him, sending the infomation to someone else.

"What?! He has endless possibilites?! This isn't impossible!" Cyber Peacock exclaimed. Before X could respond, the Maverick teleported and began to attack him. They fought fercelessly, but X won easily and then teleported back to HQ>

Repliforce Air Force: Storm Owl (Objective: Destroy As Much of The Fleet As Possible)

Zero teleported onto one of the flying platforms, high above the ground. It was dark now. But he wasn't going to let that stop him. He immediately began to hop platforms, until he came across an attack platform. He jumped up on top of it and slashed it repeatedly while it fired it's missiles at him. He jumped over them effortlessly and landed on another platform and slashed it once more, blowing the platform up.

Zero looked across the series of platforms and traps. He was heading for one of Repliforce's Attack Cruisers to destroy it. That would put a pretty big dent in Repliforce's army, seeing as Attack Cruisers cost a pretty penny. But Repliforce had great money supplies, none the less.

Blowing up another attack platform, he jumped onto a Cruisers and began to run on top of it, blowing away the turbo cannons trying to blow him up. Grimly, he finally reached the end of it, planted a bomb, and then jumped onto two attackplatforms piled up on each other as the Cruiser blew, but they were unoperational. Looking up, he saw a Bombing Cruiser, another type of Attack Cruiser, and it cost a lot too. And it was opening a ray, destorying the attackplatforms. Zero leaped off as they blew, barely making it.

Continuing on, he finally reached the end of the first line of the platforms, destroying about 45% of them. Reaching the end, he teleported up high into the air and landed on the Attack Cruiser. It belonged to Storm Owl. Well, that bird was about to get a major plucking.

Running along the Attack Cruiser's launching bay, he entered the doors by slicing them down and entered into it, finally. Working his way through the series of traps, set up just for intruders, he reached the middle of the Attack Cruiser, and found a Reactor Core. Suddenly Repliforce traps were sprung and they opened fire on him, blocking his attempts near the Core. Destroying as many as he could, Zero slashed the Core, causing some damage before more traps appeared.

Constantly having to deal with them, Zero dealt blows to the Core as he could, but it was looking hopeless, so far. Finally he threw the entire pack of bombs at the Core as he dealt with the traps. The caused considerable damage to the Core and the entire Attack Cruiser began to explode and shake, throwing Zero back. When the explosions stop, the wall had a hole in it.

Entering the hole, Zero saw that the entire area had been destroyed, and only rubble remained. Working his way through the rubble, he arrived at the top of the Attack Cruiser. No damage had been dealt here, and he predicted only 25% of the ship felt his attack. There were probably serveral cores. Working his way left, Zero entered an enclosed area and Storm Owl fluttered down.

"Why did you judge us as Mavericks?" Storm Owl demanded, hatred written all over his face with his Attack Cruiser damaged.

"Wait! Stop the coup!" Zero pleaded.

"No! We're justified in doing this!!!" Storm Owl snarled. He launched attacks at Zero, who dodged them and jumped up onto the platform in the air. Owl went to follow, and met Zero's sabre. He landed hard, crusing Zero and his relatives. Zero jumped down and slashed the Reploid again, who reacted in amazing speed and hit Zero with tornado blasts, sending him into the platform he was on moments before.

Zero bounced off the top of the platform, hit the ground and rolled to the side, and threw his sabre into Owl. It exploded out the other side, sticking in him. Charging his blaster, he blasted him and then tackled Owl, ripping the sabre out and flipping backwards. He then slashed once more, and Owl exploded into a brilliant light. The last of the 8 targets had been destroyed. Zero sighed a sigh of relief and hit his com button. "We got ourselves an Attack Cruiser with partial damage. Of the entire Fleet, I destroyed a margin of about 10%. The other 10% is gone."

Dr. Cain's voice came back over it. "We got problems Zero. Big ones. Head on back, we got a meeting. And then, hopefully, we can stop Repliforce before they begin whatever they got coming." Zero nodded thoughtfully. "I'll have some crews come and take the Attack Cruiser over and repair it. Good job." Zero turned the com off and teleported away.

Maverick Hunter HQ:

Mega Man X, Zero, Dr. Cain, and Death Star all sat at the table, along with two other Captain's that had been pulled off duty for the recent crisis. Dr. Cain cleared his throat and filled in everyone in who didn't know what the others had gone through.

"1st off, Captain Tolerance's squad, including himself, were wiped out a few hours ago by a surprise attack by a group of Mavericks. We do know that they took a great deal of them done before they were destroyed though," Dr. Cain began. Everyone was stone quiet. Tolerance was one of the best Hunters, third only to X and Zero.

"2nd, Captain Death Star's squad was destroyed when Eradicator and his squad went Maverick and destroyed them. Death Star managed to stop them all and destroy the base, allowing Zero to go unhideranced. Thankfully, he was saved and estained only a slight amount of damage and is still fit for duty.

"3rd, X has stopped two unknown targets and Dragoon. X believes there might be someone else causing trouble, and these three Mavericks prove it. X, if you would please," Cain said and sat down. X nodded and stood up.

"Dragoon said he joined Repliforce because 'he' came and offered him a chance to fight me if he would get me to believe that Repliforce was behind all this. Next, Split Mushroon was ordered to terminate me by 'his boss'. I couldn't find out who though. And last, Cyber Peacock scanned my abilities and sent them to someone. I believe all three of these characters are working for someone. As of yet, I do not know, but I have a feeling that we soon will," X informed them.

Cain stood back up and continued on. "And last, Zero has managed to destroy 10% of Repliforce's Fleet and taken out 5 of their top men. Repliforce is going to be reeling back now, but I don't think they're through yet. Where did the remaining 90% of the Fleet go? We've been trying to track them, but we can't for some reason.

"I want you all to be on duty, and we find out where Repliforce is heading next, we're all going to make up a plan. Zero has volunteered to take on the main force, alone, while X and Death Star handle the Fleet," Cain went on. Zero saw that X flinched when he learned what Zero was doing. Cain turned to the other two Captains. "Since Death Star's squad was a Ground/Flying squad, we lost some good pilots. You two are just plain Flying Squadrons. You will assit Death Star and X in destroying the Fleet.

"Get ready men, Repliforce isn't going to stay quiet for long," Cain finished and walked off. Death Star and the two Captains silently left the room to let X and Zero talk.

"Zero....you do know if you do this, you have a 99% chance of fighting Colonel to the death. You sure you want to do that?" X finally said after a few minutes of silence.

"It's a personal matter now, X."

"...Just don't let it blind you, Zero. It could cause you to do something you'll regret for the rest of your life..." X whispered and stood up, leaving Zero alone. Zero bowed his head for a moment, thinking, then went to the control room and found a frantic Iris there.

Suddenly the alarms went off, Alerting the Hunters to get ready, Repliforce had made it's move. Zero turned to Iris. "Repliforce is at the space harbor..." she said meekly.

"I have to go."

"No! Please wait Zero! I don't want to see you two fight."

Zero snorted and waved his hand in dismissal. "Someone has to stop your brother. I'm leaving..." Zero told her and teleported to the Space Harbor, while X got ready to tackle the fleet.

Concluded...
