Interlude 1: "They Hold Me Back..."

Tsil'vrilsaxren
Emperor Xshiaver's Private Quarters

"I'm very disappointed in hearing this, Shretrav," Xshiaver said, leaning back in his seat, staring at the 2nd of the Council. "Why can't you and Tretsa control the others? You two are the highest on the Council."

Shretrav sighed. Though Xshiaver relied on her heavily, seeing as she was his most favored among the Council members, she always wondered why Tretsa had the spot of the 1st of the Council. How she envived him.

"Emperor Xshiaver, the Councilers are literally afraid right now. They are on the edge of an insane fright of these Earthlings. They recall what happened twenty years ago on Earth, they remember the death of the other six members of the Council, and they remember the destruction of some of the greatest war weapons we have."

"I thought if I didn't make them attack these Earthlings anymore that would help things. Killing them off, one by one, was benefitary that their voicing would quiet down against me. Plus with you and Tretsa on my side, that would make things even better. But the public views this bad, sending off politicians to deal with these Earthlings. However, our military is having little luck in finding them. They even aided themselves with the Tsivrxish traitors who are trying to liberate the Empire from my rule and helped destroy a few of my battleships and two of my stations." He still burned with anger at the wiping out of a whole station by setting it on self-destruct. He hadn't had time to send out drones to find out if they remained, but with no contact with the station and reports of a large explosion out there, he had little need to.

"I'm quite sure the military can destroy these Earthlings if we could get a fix on them. But Admiral Nelsh says that General Livish said he hadn't had anymore signs of them in his terroritory. This is quite irritating. A handful of rebels is causing the Empire literally to get all uptight."

Shretrav smiled coldly. "Don't worry about it. So what if they destroy a few structures here or there? The Council will hold together, the military will destroy them, and you won't be bothered with the word 'Earth' ever again."

The Emperor nodded. The only reason he kept the Council around was because he needed the public on his side. If he was to totally throw away all the old traditions away they would retaliate against him. And that was something he couldn't have. So he had to give in to the Council. For now.
