Sighing, the figure turned back to the viewport, just now entering the galaxy. He was almost back to his adopted planet. And he hoped he wasn't too late to defeat the evil Cain. He had a lot of reasons for wanting to take Cain out, one being that of his son.

Tightening his hands into a fist, he knew he would be ready for whatever battle laid ahead.

He glanced at his clock and knew they only had one hour left on the chronometer. And, he knew they would show like the pathetic hero types that they were. For a moment, a brief flicker of doubt passed over him, before he quickly crushed it.

This would be the Maverick's greatest hour...

He heard voices, like echoes lost in a dark void, coming to him, and hands helped him to his feet. That's when the pain hit, and he knew he was alive. Slowly his hearing returned and he saw blasts coming from every which way. "Am...Am I alive?" he asked.

Emily nodded at him from beside. "Yes, yes you are at that James..." she told him, smiling.

Shaking his head, James glanced at her. "Well, we should probably try to tackle the forces on the mountain again.

She nodded. "Any plans?"

"Well, a strong Maverick stronghold is over there, blocking our troops from getting near it. If we can go over there and blow it up, we might actually have a chance of storming up the mountain," James suggested.

"Sounds great. You lead the way," she told him. James nodded and then glanced over and noticed that the forest was catching on fire. "That doesn't look good..." he muttered. Emily nodded. "Do you know if anyone else on my unit is alive?"

"Yes, your commander lived. But I think he's elsewhere now. Pretty dishearted," Emily commented.

"Well, no time to comfort him. Lets gather some of the other units and attack..." James told her.

[Garland] Pilot! WHERE'S THE MATINENCE ROOM?
[Steel] Pilot: Er...gone sir...
[Ripple] [Listen, if I happen to die.... DB, take the warp field generator. Spirit knows how to operate it, but it needs an enhanceds power
* Gravedigger peers out the hole in the bridge
[Dias] Let's ram those assholes
[Avatar] [Garland, there's nothing we can do but HANG ON!]
* Steel a ship fires at GD
* Diamondback says a silent prayer and reverts to human form

* Gravedigger looks at his shovel then takes some of his cloak, polishing it back to shape

Laying there in great pain, James kicked free of the burning tree and laid there, head spinning, knowing this was the end. Coughing and breathing in great pain, James prayed for a miracle to save him, but he didn't see it happening. ...Until

Emily landed beside him, smiling, and gave him a quick shot of regeneration fluid, stopping the internal bleeding. "Alright, lets get out of there," she told him with a kind smile and helped him to his feet.

James tried to tell her to forget it, it was too dangerous, but she wouldn't listen. They both never saw the blast coming, which hit Emily and sent her flying out of James' reach. A silent cry fell on his lips, he hit the ground wrong, seeing that she was completely gone. Some of her materials were left.

Another officer grabbed it and pocketed, a reliable person who would turn it in, so James let himself collapse into a pool of darkness, knowing he was going to survive.

James was semi-awake during all this, and grinned, knowing that the Maverick terror was over, if Diamondback and the others could defeat Conviction up there. He doubted their chances, but...it would be worth it if they could.

Holding his broken ribcage, he forced himself to his feet and walked towards some medical teams, hoping that this would soon be over, for everyone.

"I'm going to go help them..." Snipe told him, glancing back.

"In YOUR condention!?" X2 tried to reason.

"Doesn't matter now..." Snipe said, waving his hand at the broken glass and the liquid drying on the floor. "I punched through it."

"I know that you idiot! But there is other chambers..." X2 pointed out.

"I'm fine, X2! I feel stronger than I ever have before!" Snipe reasoned with him, standing up and turning to him. "I mean, I feel like I'm hyped up on something. Super even."

X2 shook his head. "The scanners say your still too weak to go fighting. I don't care if you were stronger than you were before, your body still can only take os much..."

"I'm going, X2. They'll need my help...." Snipe told him a matter-of-factly, grabbing one of X2's healing machines, which he had finished a few minutes ago before going out to watch the battle.

"You don't even have a pilot to take you," X2 retorted.

Slasher walked in the room at that moment. "He asked me and I agreed. Anything to help stop this maddness," he told him.

X2 growled. "I can outrank you on this matter, Snipe."

Snipe glanced at him, almost like he was going to back out of it, but then stepped past X2. "File a complaint then, I can't just let them die..."

X2 sighed. "Matsuoka's not even with them, so you don't have to worry about her dying."

"I know." I asked her to be busy when the fight came up. She's not around, so I'm guessing she did just that...

* Avatar tries somehow to stop virus
* Diamondback is incredibly weak from before, and can't fight Sigma off himself
* Spirit uses her PsiShocker on Sigma out of desperation
[Garland] Isn't this thing made of light? How else would It be this way?
* Gravedigger being KOed, can't really argue
* Avatar continues madly blasting the virus
* Sigma_Virus begins to be yanked apart
* Paladin tries to use his thruters like an over-grown hair dryer again to quite literally "blow" the virus away

* Avatar pushes harder
* Ripple glares at Diamondback and adds his power to that of Spirits

* Sigma reforms and falls to the Earth

* Diamondback suddenly rises in a blast of adrenaline and adds to the others' powers

* Paladin watches Sigma go

* Snipe stops hovering
* Snipe crashes into a tree

[Dias] NRP: Thought we were higher
* Diamondback crashes into a thick patch of GRASS
* Garland lands on the ground gracefully

* Avatar nearly collapses
[Garland] NRP: GRASSSS!!!
[Diamondback] [GAH!]
* Gravedigger smashes into the ground and bounces violently along
[Avatar] NRP: What happened to Steel?
[Ripple] NRP AHHH GRASS!!
* Dias lands in a lake of water
[Snipe] ...We saved the earth....?
* Ripple jumps down
* Diamondback bounces hard, a couple of bones cracking
[Ripple] I hope so.
* Paladin hovers just before landing, but still jars his body
[Garland] .....What happened to sigma?
[Diamondback] [Urrgh... We... we did it!]
[Paladin] But where did Sigma go?
* Ripple hovers but then looses conciousness, and falls with a loud THUD
[Snipe] ...Well, good...now, tell me my eyes are playing tricks on me.
[Paladin] . . .
* Dias swims to the surface despertly
* Gravedigger lays there
[Garland] I mean, what made him do that?
* Dias swims to shore and runs to the others
* Paladin wonders what happened to Steel and the other units
[Snipe] ....PLEASEEEEE tell me.
[Avatar] [.... We did it?]
[Diamondback] Your eyes playing tricks on you? What do you see?
[Dias] What are you tlaking about?
* Snipe points at a giant chicken
*** Spirit has quit IRC (Connection reset by peer)
[Snipe SOUND]
[Dias] I thought we killed that thing
[Snipe] Chicken: BWAGWACK!
[Snipe] Session Ends

But now that Sigma was dead, the Special Unit would most likely be disbanned. Sighing in the tube, he closed his eyes and floated.

Stepping back, he vanished into the shadows.

Coughing hard, he glanced back at his fortress, being destroyed by the humans and reploids alike. Have I been so blind all these years? Humans and reploids are working in peace, equals...and I want to destroy them...

Standing up. "No more...screw the humans, I will gain followers and leave this god forsaken planet....never again will I be defeated...." he vowed darkly, surpressing his evil anger against the humans. "But that doesn't mean I won't kill one of you ever stop my new plans...but for now, I just want to help reploids grow stronger..."

And Sigma stood up and limped off, near death. Chances were against him greatly he would make it past the burning forest. But his fate was still undecided...as evil still played a part in it.
