[Garland] I'm giving it up.
[Seraphna`] *Sarlen rushes the man, bursting into Neo-ATLAN
[Snipe] Fury: You just had me arrested like I was no foe at all!  Now I shall show you!
[Slasher] Well you better besure you kill me..
* Booster blinks.  "What?!..."
* Snipe watches Sarlen hit the shield and bounce off
[Snipe] Drake: What are you saying, Garland!?
* Slasher phases and tries to phase through the shield
[Booster] B-but if you give up...
* Dias looks at his dad
[Snipe] Fury: *blinks in surprise, Slasher now trapped in the shield with him*
[Snipe] Fury: H-hey!
* Garland rips off his tie and breaks the button on his collar
[Slasher] *smirks* FOOl! *punches him in the face*
[Snipe] Fury: *slams into his own shield, being shocked*
* Slasher holds him against the shield
[Snipe] Fury: GYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
[Booster] ...I mean, you're one of our best warriors, and without you with us, we might not stand a chance... and then won't everyone's life be like this?  If other people are even still alive?
* Garland is still trembling
[Snipe] Fury: *draws his anti-matter explosive gun and slams it against Slasher's stomach* See...you...in...hell...
[Slasher] CORSEC SHALL NEVER BE RESURRECTED!!! *punches him in the gut letting out a chi blast*
* Snipe watches, holding his shoulder
[Snipe] Fury: *fires into Slasher's gut at the same time*
* Garland looks at the man he just killed
* Slasher tries to phase
[Snipe] Fury: *falls over, a hole in his stomach.  His attack is unphaseable.  After Fury collapses, the shield collapses*
* Slasher stands there for a second
[Snipe] MP: ...
[Dias] DAD!!! *runs towards him a tear appearing in his eye*
* Snipe falls to his knees
[Snipe] Dammit..
[Slasher] ...Is...this..the end? *looks down at his gut*
[Seraphna`] *Ealyne is still crying...
[Snipe] Comm: Sera?  Elayne?  Slasher needs help...
* Seraphna` heals Snipe's shoulder
[Seraphna`] I'm right here...
* Dias slides across the roof to Slasher
[Snipe] Forget me, help him.  That blow looked fatal.
* Slasher crouches to his knees
[Garland] That's all I can do.
* Seraphna` runs and leaps to Slasher, healing him efore she gets there
[Slasher] ...Son..If I die.....make sure Corsec is...never resurrected..
[Dias] Don't die......Dad..Don't die!
* Seraphna` kneels next to Slasher
[Garland] I've been justifying it with puny things like 'honor' and 'justice'. All I've ever done is kill.
[Snipe] Hang in there, old timer, you stopped CorSec's little uprising. 
[Seraphna`] You ain't dying yet Slasher...
[Snipe] Drake: ...Garland...it's war.  People die.
* Seraphna` continues to heal him urgently
[Garland] Even on my [censored] wedding day!
[Slasher] ....*lays down* Heh...Cheryl'ld kill me if I...died *swallows*
[Garland] This wasn't war! This was stupid!

[Snipe] Drake: *looks down at the CorSed badges* No, this is a memory of the past that refuses to die if we don't completely solve a problem.  Fury was left alive and 20 years later, he struck.
[Booster] It's not as simple as just making excuses, Garland...  No one had the right to do that to the people here.
[Snipe] Yeger: *shakes head and walks off, slamming the church door behind him*
[Snipe] Iceheart: *stands to the side, a bit shocked*
* Booster glances up.  "Fury?"
[Snipe] Drake: I recognized him.  Old member of CorSec.
[Slasher] ....*blinks*
[Dias] *a tear drops from his face*
* Garland keeps his face in his hands
[Snipe] Drake: The only general, besides Albert, not to be killed.  Albert died earlier, having teamed up with DS.
* Booster nods, then turns back to Garland, nuzzling his hands...
[Snipe] Drake: Guess the poor guy had nothing to turn to so he tried to re-establish CorSec.

* Snipe watches Dias and Slasher
[Garland] ...And decided to ruin the only bright spot in a tired old warrior's life.
* Dias stands up
*** Seraphna` has quit IRC (Ping timeout)
[Dias] Snipe...what should I do?
[Garland] NRP: EEK!
* Snipe rests his hands on Dais
[Snipe] Dias even
[Booster] Garland...  You don't have to be like him.  You have a life beyond combat.  You tried to live it today, but then someone who truly can do nothing but kill appeared...

* Snipe puts it down and looks at Dias
[Snipe] Pray.

* Snipe smiles sadly

* Garland looks at the candles, crushed by this...

* Slasher slaps Snipe

* Snipe catches Slasher's hand and grins

[Garland] I.......... *tounge is heavy* I think I'll be moving onto the Fury for a while...
[Booster] Only empty men would resort to what these men did...
[Snipe] Drake: *nods* I understand.
[Snipe] Iceheart: Oh, Garland...
[Booster] ...Garland...  Are you absolutely sure?...
* Dias helps support Slasher
* Snipe walks towards the fire escape

* Slasher blood appears on front shirt

* Slasher lets all his weight go onto Snipe
* Garland sniffs, hardly able to talk

* Snipe grunts, his shoulder shooting pain down his arm
* Snipe steps onto the fire escape and works his way down it

* Garland smiles at her, taking them into his hand

* Booster sits back and says nothing for now...

* Slasher makes sure to bleed on Snipe before he conks out

* Snipe sees his tux is covered in blood, his own and Slashers'.
[Dias] Snipe, that means dad likes you.
* Garland smiles, tears still streaming off and on
[Snipe] That's good.  I'll let you and Cheryl get him back to Origin

[Dias] ....what are we gonna do about CorSec?
* Snipe turns back
* Booster smiles at those words from Garland, hoping...
[Snipe] There is no CorSec, Dias, don't worry.  It's just one old man's dream to relive the past.
[Snipe] Peter: That's all we can do, someone once told me.
[Dias] ..don't say that. If some old nutcase thought he could bring them back, who's to stop some one else.

* Garland swallows hard, his heart broken so badly he has touble finding words to say.

* Snipe steeps into the church, looking more red than his tux' normal black/white
* Snipe stares at Garland from the entrance, breathing hard
* Garland is still sitting on the steps of the alter, his head hung low.
[Booster] NRP: Waaait a minute, Seraphna pinged out...
[Snipe] NRP: Yeah, we're kinda going on the fact GArland can play those characters.
[Garland] NRP: Just noticed? I'm wondering if she's gonna come back..
[Booster] NRP: I hope so.  She's important to this...

[Garland] Sera: *walks into the Church after tending to the wounded* Garland.....
* Snipe glances at Sera, then back at Garland
* Garland walks by Snipe, and sits next to Garland

* Booster quietly follows and sits behind Garland and Snipe, not interfering, simply watching with concern...

[Garland] I wonder now if it's just some excuse for myself.
[Snipe] So, if you leave, that's just one less person to help protect them and preserve their freedom.  They won't be any better off if you quit.  Sera and Elayne won't be any better off and will have one less perosn around to help them
* Snipe stands up

* Garland smiles weakly

[Garland] *to himself, as Snipe leaves*.....I feel like I want to leave the Wraiths, the Fury, the Origin, even Death Star. I feel like I should just take my family and start all over!!! 
* Booster walks up to Garland at last...
[Booster] And where would you go?
[Booster] What place is safe anymore?...
[Garland] I don't know...
[Snipe] Yeger: And where's the honor in fleeing?
[Snipe] Yeger: *stands to the side of the church*
* Garland looks at him
[Snipe] Yeger: Where's the honor in taking your family, who wishes to stand and do what they can for others just for your own selfish desires?
[Garland] Yeger, don't bother me with 'honor'. Right now it's the very excuse I use for killing.
[Booster] Think about this.  What if this had been someone else's wedding?  Someone defenseless?...
[Snipe] Yeger: Excuse for killing, hmmm?  There is no excuse for killing.  You kill to either cause pain or to protect something.
[Snipe] Yeger: I don't see you going around killing for pleasure, so, you are honorably protecting others.  You've spared your share of people before, I'm sure.
* Garland looks at Yeger
[Garland] Then where's the honor in seeking out people to fight just to prove your the strongest?
[Snipe] Yeger: *Shrugs* I think you should worry about yourself first.  
[Snipe] Yeger: The fact comes down to it.  Do you fight to protect, or do you stand there and let someone else protect you?  I choose to fight for my own reasons.
[Snipe] Yeger: But I'll NEVER turn my back and let someone else die to protect ME.
[Garland] ..... *looks at the 'sky' of the city*
[Booster] . o O (Yeger doesn't kill those he challenges, and he asks them first...)
[Snipe] Yeger: Snipe earlier today leaped in the way of the blast to protect you.  If he had died, oh, so what, you were protected I suppose.  Then, with Snipe dead, and you standing around doing nothing, and something else goes wrong, Booster leaps in the way and dies.
[Snipe] Yeger: And so on and so on.  Just because you're running from your job as a Hunter.
[Garland] Yeger, you're being foolish.  You should know me better than to even think I'd allow that even how I feel now.
[Snipe] Yeger: Oh?  I think not.
[Snipe] Yeger: I think you're tired of it all and you're ready to go duck your head into some sand and not look around you.
* Booster brushes his wounds with his tail.
[Garland] ...
[Snipe] Yeger: And with your head in the sand, who's to stop anyone from kicking you in your ass?
[Booster] Don't do this, Garland...  People are counting on you... on all of us.
* Garland narrows his eyes at Yeger
* Garland looks at his sword, which lets off a low whirr as the the light changes reflections.
* Garland grabs it
[Garland] ......Then let's get it over with.
* Booster smiles.
[Snipe] Yeger: I knew you still had something left in you, Hianule.
[Garland] Protecting only gets us so far.
[Snipe] Yeger: Winning, now that's everything.
[Garland] No. Your wrong.
[Snipe] Yeger: *walks off for the Fury* No, I'm quite right.  You'll see, before this war is over.
[Garland] Winning is never everything. Everything is what you might loose to get to winning.
[Garland] Booster.
[Booster] Yes, Garland?
[Garland] Have the computer set up a meeting. I don't care if we're a team or not, we're going to end this war as fast as possible.
[Snipe] Iceheart: *steps out* Ready to start this war?
* Garland looks at Ice
* Booster blinks.  "All right..."
* Booster starts off, but glances back after a few steps.
* Garland nods
[Booster] Welcome back.
[Snipe] Iceheart: I mean, all the pieces are out on the board, like DS set them up, now we just need someone to move htem.
* Garland smiles to Booster
* Booster smiles back, then runs off to Origin...
[Garland] It's time to exit the introduction. On to the games.
* Garland spins his sword, clacking it into it's sheith
[Snipe] Iceheart: Heh.  Lets go.  I'll get Sera and Elayne.  *walks back into the church*
* Garland nods.
[Garland] I'm going to break this plateu.
* Garland makes a personal swear.
[Garland] John, I'll protect you as you have me this day. I got your back.


[Snipe] Computer: Ya?
[Booster] Garland wants to set up a meeting; he's planning to try to end the war as fast as he can...
[Snipe] Computer: Oh?  Snipe's been researching a few things.  I'll tell him about it.  I'll set the meeting for one week, give everyone time to get prepared for it.
[Booster] Right; what time?
[Snipe] Computer: I'll send a memo!
* Booster heads towards the brig as he speaks...
* Booster nods.  "Good; thanks..."
