Psychological evaluation:
In an effort to become a better fighter, Tau diverts most of his energy away from ancillary devices like an emotions processor. His early experiences with Zenor have jaded him to those who claim to be like him or want to be close to him, his guard is up constantly, and he always double encrypts his files. This may border on paranoia, but Tau prides himself on judging the character of others, so he feels especially bad if someone he trusts betrays him, so that trust is doled out in small amounts and with extreme care. Loner is a perfect description, simply because of his trust issues, but also, he feels that he can work better solo, with less people to slow him down or get hurt if the battle starts to go bad. He tends to move into an area, obliterate any mavericks he can, claim their data to create a new device and then move on. Genesis Tau has also been programmed with an intricate code of behavior. He defends the injured and helps repair them, as well as donating newly constructed upgrades that he doesn’t want as payment for any services he may have used. In all, he hates being in debt, whether it be in money or honor (i.e. having someone save his life...). Tau just wants to move on and continue his mission.

History:
Tau is one of 2 survivors of the Reploid Genesis project. Founded by professor William G. Stark, in conjunction with the long terminated Cryon labs, an under-ground project was clandestinely carried out in the year 2170. The mission was simple: integrate living tissue with robotic systems, a positronic brain, and the freewill enabled by the systems adapted from Mega Man X by Dr. Cain. The Reploids were then each given the same mission, all 100 of them were to venture out into the world and gather any and all mechanical data, store it in their systems and use it to upgrade themselves. But, that was only the first phase, they were also to bring back these immense stores of data to the factory where they were produced, and use it to construct a next generation of Reploids. They were to remain in stasis for around 30 years to test all systems and prevent Maverick occurrences. This is where the flaw occurred. A single reploid was inadvertently activated far before the pre-determined date. This unit, known as “Zenor” came online exactly 29 years ahead of schedule and with damaged circuitry, whether by human hands, or accidental glitch, his status was changed to Maverick. He ravaged the factory that spawned him, and believed that he had destroyed all other Reploids in the project. However, he was very wrong, and 29 years later, right on schedule, Tau came on-line. He quickly discovered that due to their common Techno-organic structures, he was able to sense Zenor’s presence, movement, and actions over almost any distance. They were connected by some force that neither understood, but Zenor, having been online for much longer than Tau, was greatly modified when they first met, and wished to have nothing to do with Tau or the project. As Tau’s assistance protocols went into effect, he assisted a damaged hunter, and was in turn damaged by Zenor. It was at this point that they determined that they each felt the other’s pain when they were close together, so if one dies, so does the other, that is the only reason Tau survived the encounter, even if he was severely damaged. The hunter he assisted helped Tau back to base where he was prepared, even though a mysterious hunter ordered his primary programming subverted, the techno-organic circuitry made that too difficult for the outpost’s medical droid to handle, so Tau left the base to search for Zenor, who had long since disappeared. The tragedy of the situation is that while Tau had been getting his repairs, the hunter he had assisted had gone off to look for Zenor. When Tau finally arrived, it was too late, even for the healing power of his tendril-cocoon, she had long since gone off-line. It was at this point that Tau swore revenge, and that another innocent would never get involved in his personal vendetta.

During his time on the earth, Tau traveled far and wide to find new data and prepare for the next generation of Reploids. When one day he finally encountered Zenor again, and the truth about his past comes out. Tau was designed to stay in stasis for another 30 years, and all other Genesis units were to go get him data and put all the new technology to use in making him the next level of Reploid, with enough power to help end all Maverick activity wherever it may arise. But someone programmed Zenor with this information, and he wasn’t going to let it happen. So, he thought he had destroyed Tau and that he would be the only survivor, and eventually use the system destined to upgrade Tau, on himself. But in the same encounter, that system was destroyed. It was then that Tau and Zenor realized that only with a reconstructed version of that device, could either be free of the mind-soul link, so they are now searching for the means to reproduce one. Tau chose the Maverick Hunters, and Zenor the Maverick life-style.

9 years passed quickly, but they eventually came to an end with the coming of the Aliens. Tau's link with Zenor told him that his brother Reploid had sided with these new-comers. In hopes of pursuing and destroying Zenor, Tau sided with the Wraith MHs and went planet hopping, gathering new data and new experience. He is ever vigilant, because he knows that at any moment, Zenor and his new abilities may present themselves, and he must be ready. Now Tau stands ready for the threat and sides with the latest Maverick Hunter roster, knowing that eradicating Zenor brings the universe one step closer to what he was designed for: Vanquishing evil and bringing humans and Reploids together in peace, he just hopes that he lives to see it in his life-time...

Special Item:

Replicat-0001 Alpha

Data collection assistant with telecommunications, analysis, and repair, and augmentation functions.

Replicat Alpha, nickname: Catmillion, because it has a million uses.

The cat has the following abilities:
Attack: hops onto Buster and adds power to it (500 AP)
Special 1: Scan and report: Using telemetry and scanners, can view areas and report them back to Tau's sensors over great distances. This ability also allows Tau to access satelite comms and other equipment intensive gear.
Special 2: Computer research desk: monitors and scanners and input devices pop out and allow for better research and study.
Special 3: Expert mechanic: Catmillion is equipped with a full range of tools and the means to use them to repair most simple machines, as well as run maintainence on Tau.
Special 4: Cloaking: Attatches to Tau's stealth gear to increase holo-morphic disguise capabilities, as well as being stealth itself.

The cat is made with a version of Tau's techno-organic circuitry, allowing it the ability to learn, grow, and eventually be more like a real cat, as Tau becomes more like a real man (with a gun on his arm!).
