<DeathStar> 6* Less than 24 hours has passed since the events of yesterday, and so far the team's rest has been shortlived. Who is the traitor? Where is Zephyr? Where did Serena Cran go? And just what role does Erevis play in V.I.'s plans?
* Kane sits in his usual chair, leaned back staring up at the ceiling.
* Ceilidh is busy researching Erevis and Venerator, trying to work out the connection
<DeathStar> 6* Ceilidh just gets a whole lot of nothing.
* Ceilidh keeps trying, looking for any details on either
<DeathStar> 6* Ceilidh just gets a whole lot of nothing.
<Ceilidh> NRP: ... what happened to the file on Erevis, anyway?
<DeathStar> NRP: You'd need to be at HQ, duh.
<DeathStar> NRP: You're at THE HOUSE.
* Setsuna` is, unsurprisingly, floped on the couch. Not in a good mood right now. Her comm is resting on her chest, as she waits for any sign of... anything.
* Ceilidh seems restless, going through her limited knowledge of Erevis over and over, as if that's going to help at all
<Ceilidh> "... you don't think VI have some way to control her, do you?"
* Seraphna sends in a call to the house
<Ceilidh> "That.. or them trying to find a way to isolate and replicate her powers..."
* Ceilidh rushes to answer the call
* Kane is unusually silent as he stares up, it seems he is in deep thought.
<Ceilidh> "Hello?"
<Seraphna> "Ceil! Hey... I went to help at Janus but it as all taken care of... then I sought some medical help, I'm getting released shortly and should be home soon."
<Ceilidh> "Oh, alright.. no news on finding Adam?"
<DeathStar> 6* The datapads light up. It seems there's something Darien wants to see them about immediately.
<Seraphna> "No that I know about... hmm... looks like he wants to see us, let him know if I can't get tehre before you."
<Ceilidh> "Alright."
* Setsuna` pulls herself off of the couch, grabbing her jacket and heading outside
* Kane pulls himself up to his feet and moves outside towards the van, sliding into the driver's seat, starting it up and waiting on the others.

<DeathStar> 6* And so, using the powers of time jump, the team is brought to the HQ.
* Kane gets out of the van and moves inside HQ, moving on into the main briefing area.
* Ceilidh almost rushes inside
<DeathStar> 6* Darien sits at the table, not looking much better than he did the day before. And standing on his other side is Warren, leaning on her cane.
<Chad`Winters> NRP: HAH HER!
<DeathStar> NRP: Yes.
<Setsuna`> NRP: Warren! Why didn't you ever tell me?! ;.;
* Setsuna` nods her head to Darien as she enters
<Ceilidh> "Any news..?"
* Cassandra`Arakawa walks into the briefing room, having alreayd been at HQ for maintenance.
<DeathStar> <Darien> I'll try to make this brief. 6He stands up, tossing down some folders to everyone.
* Ceilidh scoops hers up and starts reading eagerly
* Seraphna comes limping in after a few moments, walking on a crutch, one of her legs in a temporary cast. "Sorry... about anotehr day or two till this fixes itself..."
* Kane pulls up the folder to look through them.
<DeathStar> 6* Inside is photos of the destruction of the Janus base, including Serena Cran with William Spade outside them. Darien looks at Sera. "Something you mind telling us, Serena?" 6He flips a pictuer up to her.
<Ceilidh> "She said she went off to help at Janus."
* Seraphna shrugs, "I arrived a little late."
<DeathStar> <Darien> Help. Janus. 6He repeats. "The enemy. Where, William Spade himself has been trying to shut down our unit for months. You went to see him." 6He says flatly.
<DeathStar> <Darien> And after you join, our base has been attacked and inflitrated.
<Seraphna> "And are you making an accusation Darien?"
<DeathStar> <Darien> I don't really need to make an accussation. You're working with Janus, at the very least.
<Seraphna> "Janus has orders to shoot me on sight actually, you can look it up, it's public."
<Seraphna> "William called them off."
<DeathStar> <Darien> It doesn't matter. Spade is our enemy. 6He points to the front door. "You may leave now, Serena."
* Kane slides his eyes to look at Sera. Remaining silent as her and Darien speak.
* Seraphna just shakes her head, "Your choice General."
<DeathStar> 6* Warren stares right at Sera.
<DeathStar> 6* Darien nods his head, cupping his hands together as he sits down, waiting for Sera to leave.
<Seraphna> "It goes far deeper then WIlliam Spade, but since you do not want my report, and you've clearly in all your intense wisdom found the wrong person, I'll take my leave."
* Seraphna turns and heads out.
<DeathStar> 6* Darien waits until the door is closed. "Now we begin/
<DeathStar> <Darien> If I'm right, Sera's reestablished her pilot link with Spade, and we can't have Spade knowing what we know.
<Setsuna`> "...is that even possible?"
<Kane> It is very possible. *he chimes in*
<Ceilidh> "... why not? She's still a dragoon, even if she doesn't know it."
<Cassandra`Arakawa> Still leaves the whole VI mole in the air though.
<DeathStar> <Darien> We'll worry about that when the time comes. One spy at a time.
* Ceilidh looks thoughtful
<DeathStar> <Darien> Now, here's why I brought you all here.
* Seraphna limps out of the building, sighing as she leans back, waiting for her expected ride, looking at something on her datapad. "Foolish move..."
<Ceilidh> NRP: <Sera> "Foolish humans!"
<DeathStar> <Darien> Warren came to my with a plan, and I'm going to authorize it. We know, for a fact, that David Fury has some tie with the enemy. But legally we can't touch him. Warren wants to kidnap Fury and ... persuade him to give us answers. However, if he does work with V.I., it might just draw out Adam to rescue him.
* Chad`Winters steps up behind Seraphna, and with one swift move, swings his hand down into Sera's neck, a syringe entering her skin.
* Seraphna blinks, gasping in surprise
<DeathStar> <Darien> Cassandra, I want you to be with Warren for this one. However, before I continue, if you're both caught, it's a crime, and there's nothing I can do to help you. Do you want this assignment?
* Seraphna attempts to pull away, caught completely off guard
<Seraphna> "What the hell..."
<Cassandra`Arakawa> Not the first illegal thing I've had to do.
* Chad`Winters stands there, the partially empty syringe still in his hand.
<Seraphna> "What did you just do?"
<Ceilidh> "What should I do?"
<DeathStar> <Darien> Then, you two will take Fury, and get the information from him. If Adam shows up, I want you to fight him, but do not beat him. I want to put a tracer directly onto Adam, so we can follow his actions.
<Chad`Winters> The only thing I could do...6He turns moving, dropping the syringe.
<Setsuna`> "We can still kick his ass a little, right?"
<Seraphna> "Whata re you talking about? Chad? What was that???"
<DeathStar> <Darien> ... this mission is for Warren and Cassandra only. 6He reiterates.
* Chad`Winters breaks out into a full sprint towards the exit
* Seraphna growls in pain as she runs after him, "Chad stop!"
<Ceilidh> "So, what do I do?"
<Ceilidh> "Go through the files to try to find links?"
* Kane crosses his arms, watching Darien, not particularly bothered about his decision.
<Setsuna`> "Okay okay, fine."
<DeathStar> <Darien> The rest of us will be attempting to break into the nearby Janus base and get their data files before they can repair their breaches from yesterday. I want to see if we can find the mole over there AND figure out what Spade is doing.
* Ceilidh nods. "Sounds good to me."
* Chad`Winters pays no attention to Serena as he sprints out of the entrance.
* Seraphna stops, going back to the syringe, picking it up.
<Seraphna> "What did he do to me..."
* Seraphna cries out and falls to her knees, holding her neck, "Wh-What the..."
<DeathStar> 6* Warren motions to Cassandra to come with him to #PAXSeason7-15CassandraAssignment
* Seraphna screams out mentally across her bond in pain
<DeathStar> 6* Darien goes to stand, but winces in pain. "Perhaps the rest of you should do this op without me. I'll slow you down."
* Seraphna stands and slowly walks out, shaking, not sure what to do.
* Kane glances at Setsuna, Ceil and then at Darien. "I assume Setsuna will be in charge since she is an expert in the field of infiltration?"
<DeathStar> <Darien> Yes.
* Setsuna` nods. "Take it easy boss. It's a sin to see you out of action like this."
<DeathStar> 6* Darien places down some Janus ID badges.
* Seraphna feverishly dials William
* Kane slides over to find his. "Do you think me being there might be a problem? Since I was once a member of Janus?"
* Cassandra`Arakawa has left #PAXSeason7-15TeamDarien
<DeathStar> <Darien> Make up a good lie.
<Ceilidh> "Maybe those of us that they don't already know should use fake names."
<DeathStar> <Voice> Hello, Serena.
<Setsuna`> "We have a great makeup department you know."
* Kane nods and scratches the back of his head checking his pass, his eyes slide over to Setsuna. "What?"
<Seraphna> "H-Hello? William...?"
<DeathStar> 6* The voice in fact, does not come from the comm, but behind Serena.
* Seraphna turns slowly, "Who...?"
<DeathStar> 6* Adam stands there, waving. "Hi, cupcake.'
* Seraphna backs away, "H-He... that bastard..."
<DeathStar> <Adam> That's right. Chad's working for us now.
<DeathStar> <Adam> And your Dragoon little abilities. Gone. 6He motions into the air.
<DeathStar> 6* Darien shakes his head. "Get to it."
<Seraphna> "What do you want from me...?"
<DeathStar> 6* And so, the team, after being properly make uped, is put into a van made up to look like a Janus vehicle.
<DeathStar> <Adam> Oh, you'll see. 6He reaches out to grab Sera.
* Kane starts it up and pulls out, heading for the Janus base.
* Seraphna tries to get away, her eyes wide with fear
<DeathStar> <Adam> Oh, I do love it when they run.
<DeathStar> 6* Kane arrives at the Janus base, where a guard moves over to him to check his ID
* Seraphna backs into a wall, looking for escape, "P-Please just leave me alone... stop this..."
<DeathStar> <Adam> And I love it even more when they beg me. 6He reaches out and punches her just right to knock her out.
* Seraphna slumps over
* Kane hands over the Id.
<DeathStar> 6* Adam motions to a few people to grab her. "Alright, Z, it's your turn."
* Setsuna` rests lazily in the back of the van, totally unconcerned.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard glances at the van, then at the rest of them inside it.
<DeathStar> <Guard> Go on inside. 6He motions.
* Kane nods his thanks after taking the ID and pulling the Van on in.
<DeathStar> 6* The van is let inside without much thought. The main base can be seen, with holes in the walls.
* Kane glances back at Setsuna. "What now?"
<Setsuna`> "Take the front door. No need to act suspicious yet. With as many people coming and going as they have, it'll be hard to keep track."
<Ceilidh> "Act natural?"
<Setsuna`> "Yeah, pretty much."
<Kane> Alright. *he slides out of the van, all the while he is trying to remember the location of a good spot to get the data they need, since he has a good idea of the layout of the base.*
* Setsuna` sticks with Kane, seeming a little more serious than normal
<DeathStar> 6* As they reach the front door, they're stopped again.
<DeathStar> <Guard> IDs?
* Kane extends his ID to the guards.
* Ceilidh sticks with Setsuna and Kane, trying not to seem nervous
<DeathStar> 6* The guard glances at it, then runs a verification on it.
* Setsuna` shows her ID
<DeathStar> 6* He runs a verification on Setsuna next, nodding.
* Ceilidh shows here
* Ceilidh shows hers
* Kane steps through, waiting for the others.
<DeathStar> 6* Guard waves Ceilidh in.
* Ceilidh heads in
<DeathStar> 6* They find themselves in a hallway, full of materials and equipment.
* Kane glances around, searching for the right area to go too.
* Setsuna` lets Kane lead, since he knows the layout best.
<DeathStar> 6* As Kane leads them to the centeral computer room, they can see Chad and Spade in an office nearby
* Kane glances around to try and find a detour around that area.
<DeathStar> 6* No way, since the office is next to the central computer room.
<Ceilidh> "... can we watch the two?"
* Kane slides to a stop and glances back at Setsuna, "I need to go elsewhere since they know me, you two should go on ahead."
* Ceilidh nods, and starts ahead
<DeathStar> 6* Spade glances in the direction of the group briefly.
* Ceilidh has never met Spade
* Kane turns to walk away.
* Setsuna` just looks inconspicious.
<DeathStar> 6* Stepping into the room is another man Darien identified as Albert White. He seems to be doing some computer work.
<DeathStar> 6* So far no one pays attention to them standing around.
* Ceilidh starts up the computer, but doesn't do anything conspicuous with it yet
* Kane comes back holding a drink, sipping it, he steps inside the computer lab, setting the drink off to the side, since it isn't allowed around the computers, he moves over and sits down beside Ceil and begins to boot up the data to transfer over to his datapad.
<DeathStar> 6* The computers have heavy password protections.
* Kane expected this, so he is prepared with a password cracking program, hooking his datapad up he begins to attempt to crack into the computer.
* Setsuna` keeps an eye out, waiting boredly
<DeathStar> 6* Spade can be seen aiming his gun at Chad inside the office. Everyone in the office pauses awkwardly.
<DeathStar> (er, computer room)
* Kane slides his eyes to look at Spade aiming his gun at Chad. He narrows his eyes and glances at Set and Ceil.
* Ceilidh eyes the scene
<Ceilidh> "Shit.. what do we do?"
* Setsuna` pauses awkwardly.
<DeathStar> 6* Albert glances at the office himself.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade and Chad can be seen exchanging words, and Chad himself attempts to turn away.
* Setsuna` gives Ceil and Kane a quick gesture to get out of sight, if Chad is coming through
<DeathStar> 6* Spade fires.
* Kane widens his eyes as Spade fires on Chad.
* Ceilidh watches in shock
<DeathStar> 6* Albert begins to move for the office.
<DeathStar> 6* Chad tosses up the desk.
<DeathStar> 6* Chad busts out of the office into the computer area.
* Ceilidh ducks out of sight, disguise or no, not wanting to be shot
* Setsuna` makes sure a nice solid object is conviently close. But watches... wondering what the hell is going on
* Ceilidh watches too, as best she can from her cover
* Chad`Winters twists his body, sliding across the hallway. He pivots his feet regaining his footing and sprints past the three.
* Kane watches Chad jump away, he checks to see if he program cracked the password or not.
* Ceilidh climbs out of cover a little cautiously
<DeathStar> 6* The password is cracked.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade slides out of the office, glancing at Albert.
<DeathStar> <Albert> You. Stop that man. 6He orders Setsuna and CEil.
<DeathStar> 6* He motions to Chad.
* Kane removes the datapad and glances at Ceil and Setsuna.
* Seraphna comes almost out of nowhere, her foot meeting the back of Chad's head, twisting and pushing a knee into his gut.
* Ceilidh blinks a little
* Chad`Winters is nailed by both attacks causing him to drop to his knee, coughing for air.
* Seraphna then lands anotehr solid kick into Chad's chest, sending him into a wall.
* Setsuna` looks to Ceil, then nods to Albert, and starts towards Chad
* Ceilidh follows Setsuna
<Seraphna> "You bastard! You betrayed EVERYONE!"
* Chad`Winters slams into the wall, sliding down onto his feet. He glances down the hallway towards the two running at them and then over at Serena.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade hurries along with them, his gun ready
* Chad`Winters 's left hand slides behind his back and tugs on something. Seconds later the hallway begins filling with smoke.
* Kane uses the scene as a diversion to take all data possible and copy it to his datapad.
* Seraphna misses another kick, the sound of a wall getting demolished heard
* Ceilidh tries to triangulate Chad's position
* Setsuna` coughs, covering her mouth.
<Chad`Winters> 6A clatter can be heard and then running going further away from everyone
<DeathStar> 6* Spade reaches Sera, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"
* Ceilidh covers her mouth, moving out of the smoke
<Seraphna> "He did something to my abilities... some kind of virus..."
<Chad`Winters> 6Can be seen sliding around a corner and down another hallway
<DeathStar> <Spade> I'll get him. Wait here. 6He runs after Chad.
* Setsuna` slips away in the confusion
<DeathStar> 6* Albert moves into Spade's office.
* Kane glances to see how long it'll be before his data is finished copying.
<DeathStar> 6* Several more minutes.
* Setsuna` heads over to the computer to help copy the data.
<DeathStar> 6* Seraphna and Ceilidh are alone in the hallway.
<Chad`Winters> NRP: *Sets stands there cheering the computer on*
<Ceilidh> "Are you hurt?"
<Chad`Winters> 6The smoke quickly begins to disipate from the ventillation system
<Ceilidh> "What happened, anyway?"
<DeathStar> 6* Chad reaches the outside world.
<Seraphna> "I've been better. You wanted your spy?"
<Seraphna> "Chad is with VI."
<Ceilidh> "Chad's with VI? And what's this about a spy?"
<Ceilidh> "I just transferred here today..."
* Seraphna eyes her, as if annoyed.
* Ceilidh hopes that Seraphna hasn't seen through her DISGUISE
* Seraphna appears to have, eyeing her still.
* Chad`Winters makes his way out of the front door.
<Ceilidh> "I'm sorry, did I do something wrong? ... anyway, I should get back to work..."
* Ceilidh starts to walk away
<DeathStar> 6* As Kane finishes getting the files, it would appear some files did not copy - or would not copy.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade reaches the door moments later, eyeing Chad.
* Kane checks the files that would copy, trying to figure out their status, and as to why they did not copy.
* Chad`Winters moves over to his bike, hopping on it
<DeathStar> 6* The computer seems oblivious to what files are missing, and cannot tell Kane. All files seemingly were copied.
* Setsuna` kicks the computer in annoyance
<DeathStar> 6* Spade aims at the bike, and fires. His shot misses.
* Chad`Winters turns around, starting the bike up. He eyes Spade then cracks the throttle, taking off in a hurry.
* Ceilidh waits for the others
* Kane disconnects and pockets the datapad, glancing at Setsuna. He stands up and moves over to grab his drink, moving to leave.
* Setsuna` looks to Kane for confirmation that they're done
<DeathStar> 6* Spade watches him go, frowning.
* Kane winks at her, indicating that they were.
<DeathStar> 6* Albert nods to Seraphna once when she comes into sight.
* Setsuna` stretches, and heads after Kane
* Seraphna nods back
<DeathStar> 6* Albert finishes in the office, stepping out.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade heads back inside.
* Kane moves on down the hall, sipping his cola as if getting ready to go on break.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade passes Kane in the hallway. He stops.
* Kane keeps moving, as if he didn't even notice Spade stopping.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade whips around.
* Kane takes another sip, continuing his exit.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade pulls out his gun, running after Kane.
* Seraphna sighs and shrugs, "Took them long enough..."
* Kane tisks and breaks into a run, heading for the van.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade aims his gun at Kane's back, trying to get a lock on him.
* Setsuna` ...accidently trips Spade.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade hits the wall.
* Ceilidh also heads for the van
* Setsuna` darts after Kane
* Kane pratically dives into the van and starts it up, backing up and sliding it around so Ceil and Setsuna would have easy access to get in.
* Ceilidh runs for the van
<DeathStar> <Spade> Son of a bitch.
* Kane waits only long enough for them to get inside before hitting the gas and getting the hell out of there.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade hits the wall with his gun, watching them go.
* Setsuna` flops against the seat, "...you know, you need to be more mindful of your thoughts around a known telepath."
* Seraphna walks up to Spade and hugs him, "It's okay... we'll get them..."
<Kane> I was thinking of computers...*he said with a frown*
<DeathStar> 6* Spade nods.
<Ceilidh> "It's strange. Seraphna seemed to know..."
* Kane pulls up his comm to get a line to Darien.
<DeathStar> <Darien on Comm> Did you get the files?
<Ceilidh> "Anyway, if what she said is accurate, Chad was the spy."
<Kane> <Comm> Yes, everything we could. But something happened...Spade attacked Chad, apparently he was the spy for V.I.
<Seraphna> "Let's go rest in your office for a bit hun..."
<DeathStar> 6* Spade shifts the note in his pocket, then nods, stepping into the office.
<DeathStar> <Darien on Comm> I see.....
<Setsuna`> "Looks like that might be true. But don't think for a moment that she's on our side."
<Ceilidh> "I don't..."
<Kane> <Comm> We'll be at HQ in a few minutes, I can transfer the data to you there.
* Seraphna steps in behind him, closing the door.
<DeathStar> 6* Albert turns from the office and to the computer system. He hits a button.
* Seraphna hugs him from behind, "I'm sorry... who would have known..."
<DeathStar> <Spade> It's... 6He pauses, getting dizzy.
<DeathStar> 6* Spade eyes Sera. "You..." 6He collapses.
* Seraphna smiles and withdraws the syringe, dragging him to the spot.
* Kane pulls into HQ and slides out moving into the main area where Darien would be. "I have to warn you, I haven't checked for any furthur defenses within the files. But here it all is." He places his datapad on the table.
<Seraphna> "Don't worry, you'll see your precious brat soon enough..."
<DeathStar> 6* Darien glances at the datapad, glancing over the information.
* Seraphna activates the teleporter.
<DeathStar> 6* The two vanish.
<Kane> You heard from Cass and Warren yet?
<DeathStar> 6* Darien shakes his head.
<Kane> Spade spotted me at the last second. I tried to keep my thoughts on computers and work...but somehow he saw through that.
<Ceilidh> "Maybe you just seemed too preoccupied with that after a fight...?"
<Kane> Oh good point. *he frowns, rubbing the back of his neck*
<DeathStar> <Darien> ... here's what we're looking for - the traitor in the midsts of Janus.
<DeathStar> 6* Darien frowns. "William Spade. It seems Albert White was trying to track his activities."
* Kane glances at Darien. "So...it wasn't Chad?"
<DeathStar> <Darien> No, Chad was working directly with Spade, it seems.
<Ceilidh> "... at a guess, then, Seraphna's with VI too. Even if she's not... wait, what?"
<DeathStar> 6* Darien leans back, considering these revelations.
<Kane> So that was all staged?
<DeathStar> <Darien> Maybe they knew we'd be there.
<Kane> Ceil said that Sera knew it was her...
* Ceilidh nods.
<Setsuna`> "Urg... This hurts my head."
<DeathStar> <Darien> But then Sera warned us about Chad....
<Ceilidh> "Maybe they're just using her without her knowledge?"
<DeathStar> <Darien> ... then we should try to find Sera. She might can lead us to Spade.
<Kane> She was last at the Janus base. *he said with a frown*
<DeathStar> <Darien> I see.
* Kane sighs. "So what are we going to do now? Hope Fury can give us what we need to know?"
