* Chad`Winters stands in his research lab, eyeing his finished machine.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis pulls on her uniform painfully, stepping out into the hallway after she's done.
* Cassandra` steps on to the bridge.
* Xanatos whistles as he sits in the monitor room, he eyes occassionally go the clock every now and then.
<Cassandra`> 6* Myria is in her quarters, tinkering with stuff.
* Marcus` has joined #taw
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias hops around as he moves down the hallways, obviously over energetic
<Cassandra`> Mr. Carmichael, I would like to speak with you in the ready room.
<DeathStar> 6* Warren raises a brow the Mr. title, then turns and heads for the ready room
<DeathStar> 6* John glances up from his spot on the bridge. "Someone's in trouble." 6He notes.
* Cassandra` follows Warren into the ready room.

<DeathStar> 6* Warren steps in, turning to face Cassandra, keeping his hands behind his back.
<Cassandra`> Let's have a seat. This isn't easy for me to say...
<DeathStar> 6* Warren tilts his head, then sits down.
* Cassandra` takes a seat, setting her cap down on the desk.
<DeathStar> 6* The master of a poker face, Warren stares right at her, letting her go
<Cassandra`> I need to speak with candor. If we were in any other situation, I would not hesitate to stay the course. However, we're in a less than ideal situation.
<DeathStar> <Warren> We're writing a new chapter on less than ideal situations.
<Cassandra`> Quite. Regardless, a standard command begins with the Fleet Officer's school and then a command on a routine patrol. I started out with ground forces. Had I not joined with PAX, I would have gone on to major, colonel, etc. I can command strike units of groundpounders in a black op and get them out alive with full confidence. However, I'm not adequately equipped for this given our situation.
<DeathStar> <Warren> Space combat is difficult, yes.
<Cassandra`> We don't have time for a learning curve. Once this is over, then maybe I can take command of a ship patrolling for pirates or something, but not while fighting a one-ship war with ancient evils. Warren Carmichael, are you fit for command?
<DeathStar> <Warren> Yes.
* Cassandra` nods and stands up.
<Cassandra`> Let's make this official then. *heads for the bridge*
<DeathStar> 6* Warren turns to follow.

<Alicia> <Kyouki> *watches from her spot on the bridge*
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl hits a punching bag, using one of the training rooms for civilians.
* Chad`Winters moves over to the data terminal and begins prepping the machine, getting ready to run it's first test run.
<Chad`Winters> 6Shiva yawns boredly as she sits on a railing in the civilian sector.
* Xanatos whistles lightly still, pulling himself up to his feet and nodding his head as the officer comes in to replace him, he steps out of the room and begins to move down the hallways, arms pulled behind his back.
<Ariel> Em> 6uses a sim, trying to train her mental control with the exercises Erevis has given her. It's a lot of effort, and she's not making a lot of progress*
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis walks past Xanatos.
<DeathStar> 6* The PAX finishes it's last jump, near a planet body. John turns and begins to do the scans.
* Xanatos moves his eyes to look at Erevis. "Hey." He says lightly, doing his best to keep his tone as friendly as possible. Did he forget what happened between them?
<DeathStar> <Erevis> Xanatos Durran. 6She says simply. Her tone indicates she has not.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias hops to a stop, staring into one of the training rooms for the civilians. He stops and stares in looking at Cheryl
* Xanatos frowns and slides to a stop, glancing back. "Ummm, Erevis?"
<Alicia> <Hotaru> *enters the training room, and starts to practise her kata, seeming distracted*
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl smashes a punching bag, sending it flying across the room.
<DeathStar> <Erevis> ... 6She turns to face Xanatos.
* Xanatos tilts his head to the side. "Have a good day." He says simply, turning to walk away before he causes himself some pain.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis stares blankly at him. She looks annoyed a little, as if deciding this is some sort of joke at her expense. She turns away and walks off.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias' mouth just drops as he stares at the bag flying across the room.
* Chad`Winters taps his comm to the captain. 1"Captain Arawaka."
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl stands there, looking slightly annoyed at the bag's defeat.
<Ariel> Setsuna> *sits in the cafeteria, drinking an iced tea*
<DeathStar> <John> Hm. 6He studies the scans.
<DeathStar> 6* He tilts his head, then brings up scans from another planet.
<Alicia> <Peacemaker> *heads into the cafeteria, ordering a green tea*
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias moves over to the door and opens it, sticking his head in. 1"Holy crap balls."
<Ariel> Setsuna> *looks up, then back to her drink...*
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl turns to look at Dias.
<Chad`Winters> <Dias> HI! 6He waves energeticaly at her.
<DeathStar> 6* John blinks, then hitsa comm. "Chad, bridge. Now."
<Alicia> <Hotaru> *glances over to Cheryl and Dias*
<Chad`Winters> <C> "Understood." 6He turns quickly moving to the bridge.
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl stares at him. "Yo." 6She says without emotion.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis steps onto the bridge.
* Cassandra` walks back on to the bridge and then to the captain's chair, sitting down before open up the captain's console.
<DeathStar> 6* Warren steps out as well, hands behind his back.

<Alicia> <Peacemaker> *gives a friendly smile to Setsuna as she sits down quietly*
* Xanatos whistles more as he steps into the cafeteria and moves over to grab some food. He glances over at Peace and Setsuna. He moves toward Peace and glances down at her. "Mind if I sit with you?"
<Alicia> <Peacemaker> *looks over to Setsuna questioningly*
<Cassandra`> As of 10-585.7.9, Captain Cassandra Arakawa officially transfers command of the Pax to Captain Warren Carmichael and awaits her reassignment.
<Chad`Winters> <Dias> So how do I learn how to punch like that?

<DeathStar> 6* Erevis blinks once.
<Alicia> <Hotaru> There are techniques to train for power, but.. I'm not familiar with most.
* Cassandra` stands up.
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl shrugs her shoulders.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias blinks looking at Hotaru. 1"When the hell did you get here?"!
<Cassandra`> I deem Captain Carmichael fit to reassume command. His proven experience is not only necessary but critical in the current crisis.

* Chad`Winters steps onto the bridge. 1"What's the rush John."
<Ariel> Setsuna> *pays attention to her drink*
<DeathStar> 6* Warren steps up to the seat. "Captain Warren Carmichael accepts command of the PAX from Captain Cassandra Arakawa. Her reassignment to XO status along with Commander John McCormick."
<DeathStar> 6* John tries to open and close his mouth, then shakes his head. "I think we found a Rune."
<Alicia> <Hotaru> *sighs, still seeming distracted*
<Chad`Winters> Bring up the scanner display. 6He moves over to John.

<DeathStar> 6* Erevis steps up as well.
* Xanatos tilts his head, standing there for a second. "Yes, no?" He eyes Peace.
<Alicia> <Peacemaker> I don't want to speak for Setsuna
<Alicia> <Kyouki> *stands* Do we know what element?
* Xanatos shrugs. "Nevermind then." He moves over to another table and sits down, beginning to eat his food quietly.
<DeathStar> <John> I don't think we know how to tell elements.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> Shame
* Chad`Winters studies the display, eyeing it. He pulls out his datapad, obviously comparing notes. 1"Yes and no.."
<DeathStar> <Warren> Yes and no?
<DeathStar> 6* He turns.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> Has something changed?
<Chad`Winters> I finished a device that can tell me what element a person is persay.
<DeathStar> <John> Can we use it to determine the element down there, then?
<Cassandra`> Captain, I request permission to leave the bridge. I have personal matters to settle before the next battle.
<DeathStar> 6* Warren nods. "Granted."
* Marcus` would be silently eating in the cafeteria as well. A hat resting ontop of a bandage on his head.
<Ariel> Setsuna> *shrugs*
* Chad`Winters frowns suddenly. 1"We got two Masters. One's stationary and...the other's moving, circling the stationary one.
<Cassandra`> Thank you, sir. *leaves the bridge and then opens a comm channel to Setsuna* Where are you now, Setsuna?

<Alicia> <Kyouki> Perhaps it's already on someone, who's moving about.
<DeathStar> <John> Hey, Runes can move?
<Chad`Winters> I can with Fire and Water. But I'd need to get a base reading from other people to find the standard wave length.
<Ariel> Setsuna> *looks to her comm* "Cafeteria. Off duty. You need me?"
<Chad`Winters> ...Obviously it's on someone.
<DeathStar> <Warren> ... Agreed. If it's moving, then I think I know who is down there.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> *eyes Chad* Well, it could've been on something...
<Chad`Winters> Good chance. Let me check something. 6He moves over to the terminal and begins typing on it.
<DeathStar> <Erevis> ... 6She closes her eyes, as if she's decided who's down there.
<Cassandra`> *comm* I'll meet you down there. We need to talk.
<DeathStar> 6* Warren reaches over, putting the ship on yellow alert.
<Alicia> <Hotaru> ... that doesn't sound good.
<Ariel> Em> 6pauses in her training.
<Chad`Winters> It's Avalon.
<DeathStar> <Warren> Indeed. Which means the Dark Ones are already on site.
* Xanatos glances up, finishing up his meal rather quickly, he stands up and moves over to dispose of his trash and mvoe toward the bridge.
* Marcus` looks up and then scowls, staring back into his meal.
<DeathStar> <Erevis> I do not think they are aware of us, or else I would feel their presence in my mind.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> So, once more snatching the runes from under their nose?
<Alicia> <Kyouki> *shudders at the concept*
* Cassandra` arrives in the cafeteria.
<Chad`Winters> We need to use our heads on this one. We got the Fire and the Water rune and 7 Servant runes.
<DeathStar> <John> I say we kill Avalon here and now.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> Someone fire, and someone water then... and give the servants to the other crew
<Alicia> <Kyouki> *looks to John* Someone's got spunk
<Ariel> Setsuna> *waves slightly to Cass, holding a cup of iced tea. The regular kind*
<DeathStar> <John> I'm itching for a fight with someone lke him.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> ... be careful, anyway. He's powerful.
<Cassandra`> May I join you?
<DeathStar> 6* Warren hestitates. "If Ariel learns he's here, she'll want to beam down. Better to let her know now so we can send her with an armed escort." 6He puts out two calls. One is to Ariel to come to the bridge.
<Ariel> Setsuna> "Mi casa es su casa."
<Chad`Winters> If that's the case than I suggest we arm her with two servant runes.
<Alicia> <Kyouki> ... Erevis, Warren... if things go badly... I just want you both to know that I'd never have gotten this far without you.
<DeathStar> 6* Warren eyes Kyouki. "You're staying here."
<Alicia> <Kyouki> ... well, I can't argue with the captain.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis glances at Kyouki.
<DeathStar> <Warren> I don't want to send too many psychics down there right now. Erevis will go as the team psychic.
* Ariel looks up as the comm breaks her concentration. She checks the message, and then heads to the bridge.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias glances around. 1"Why is everything suddenly pulsing?
<Alicia> <Kyouki> ... understood... my point still stands.
* Cassandra` takes a seat.
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl glances at her comm. "Gotta run." 6She moves off.
<Cassandra`> I transferred command of the ship to Warren.
<Chad`Winters> <Dias> I...What's going on?!
* Xanatos steps onto the bridge, glancing around. "Trouble?"
<Chad`Winters> Warren, who do you plan on sending? 6He turns to him, his eyes closing as he rests his hand on his chin.
<Ariel> Setsuna> "I wondered when you'd do that... She always was his baby. But still, you made a damn good captain."
<DeathStar> <Warren> Alright, here will be the teams. John, Erevis, Chad, Ariel and her body guard, Terra, and Cassandra will go down.
<Ariel> Setsuna> "...no way I'm bodyguarding his old ass though."
<Cassandra`> I wish I could have been better...but this situation isn't the time for a learning curve.
<Alicia> <Hotaru> I don't know, Dias.
* Xanatos tilts his head, frowning.

* Chad`Winters taps something on his datapad.
<DeathStar> <Warren> Then go warm the shuttle. I don't want them detecting teleport signatures.
* Xanatos nods his head and steps off of the bridge, moving towards the hanger.
* Ariel arrives on the bridge. She looks to Warren for an explination.
<DeathStar> <Warren> Avalon is on the planet. He's looking to get another Master Rune.
<DeathStar> 6* He says, glancing at Ariel.
<DeathStar> 6* John heads to get the Fire Rune.
<Cassandra`> Well, things are happening now...I'll probably be going into action soon. I need to get ready. So...how about a date after I get back?
* Xanatos slides to a stop in the hanger and quickly moves over to start prepping the shuttle.

<DeathStar> <Erevis> Do we know someone who can wear the Water Rune?
<DeathStar> 6* She glances at Chad.
<Chad`Winters> I believe it'll either be Terra or Cassandra that can use it.

<Ariel> Setsuna> "Wait, you give up the captain posistion, and now you're going on a mi-wait, what?" *surprised*
<Terra> <Kyouki> What makes you think those two?
<Chad`Winters> Never considered that to be an issue. We'll find out tho.
<Cassandra`> We'll see how it goes...work out our feelings on this.
<Chad`Winters> John and I are both Fire. Erevis doesn't pass off to me as a Water Rune user.
<DeathStar> <Erevis> Hm.
<Chad`Winters> Ariel, where do you think you lack in fighting characteristics? Power or Speed?
<Terra> <Kyouki> Has it ever occured to you we might not have a water user on the team?
<Chad`Winters> Yes it has, that's why John's bringing the runes here and not on-planet.
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl steps onto the bridge.
<DeathStar> <Warren> Ah, here we are. Your bodyguard, Ariel.

<DeathStar> 6* Warren pauses, then sends out the comand call to everyone on the team. Including Setsuna, since he figured Cass is with her
<Ariel> Setsuna> "Keep yourself s-" *glances at the comm* "...nevermind, I can handle that bit."
* Chad`Winters glances at Cheryl, tilting his head. 1"...Possible she could be water..She has strength so adding another would be even more devasting...

<Cassandra`> Well, looks like we need to get ready. *comm* Let me suit up and then I'll be at the shuttle.
<Terra> <Kyouki> Have you found a pattern?
* Ariel considers Chad's question, then looks a little surprised to see Cheryl. She shakes her head a little. "I would consider myself comparitively lacking in power... however, if Avalon is on the site, then he greatly eclipses my speed currently."
* Chad`Winters eyes the people, quickly evaluating it.
<Chad`Winters> May I suggest you use one power rune and one speed rune than?
<Cassandra`> I'll meet you there. *stands up and heads to arm herself*
* Chad`Winters glances up as a tech walks in with a machine.
<DeathStar> <Warren> Anyway, head to the hanger. Everyone should meet there.
<Ariel> Setsuna> "See you in a few." *pats Cass on the shoulder, and goes off for her things. Eager*

* Ariel nods slowly... she doesn't know these rune things.

* Terra is already at the hanger, looking over her fighter

* Xanatos whistles lightly, awaiting those that are coming, his eyes slowly move over the controls, double checking everything.
* Ariel heads to the hangar, playing over scenerios in her mind.
* Chad`Winters walks after the others.

* Terra gets into the shuttle, taking the pilot's seat

* Xanatos is already in the pilots seat, so he just eyes Terra.

* Ariel nods... not that she'd admit it if she couldn't.

* Cassandra` enters the hangar, ready for battle...integrated with assualt frame and packing a gauss cannon.
* Terra takes the copilot's seat then

<Xanatos> If you'd like some more time under you belt. I can just make sure you don't kill us. Your choice.
<Chad`Winters> 6The techie sets the machine down and groans some more.
* Terra glances over

* Ariel makes it to the hangar, fully equiped. Light body armour, a pair of carbines, a pistol and her rifle... she's seen what Avalon can do, she's not taking chances.
<Chad`Winters> Cheryl, Terra take turns in my scanner.

* Chad`Winters raises a brow and shrugs, not caring. 6He moves over to the machine, powering it up.
* Cassandra` boards the shuttle.
* Xanatos moves the controls over to copilot. "Be gentle now.

<DeathStar> 6* John glances at Chad. "Well, good luck with that." 6Hums and gets on the shuttle.
<Chad`Winters> John, hand a power rune and a speed rune to Ariel. Give a power rune to Cheryl.
<Terra> "Seems I need to get scanned first..."
<DeathStar> 6* John nods, then gets on. He tosses two runes at Ariel. "One on each hand, lady." 6* Cheryl refuses to accept one.
* Ariel catches them, and examines them. She doesn't fully understand this, but she does as instructed.
<Xanatos> Good luck with that. *He just smiles lightly, tapping his foot to a song inside his head*
* Terra pauses. "What is this for, anyway?"
* Chad`Winters glanecs at Setsuna. 1"Setsuna, you're next.
<Chad`Winters> To see what affinity you are. Step in.
* Terra steps in warily
* Xanatos glances back. "Hey Chad, will I need to do that?"
* Chad`Winters hits a button and a soft glow envelops Terra than disappears.
<Terra> "So?"
<Chad`Winters> You're fire.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis glances at Ariel.
<Terra> "Fire's good."

<Chad`Winters> Not when there's two others.

* Chad`Winters motions to Setsuna to step on.

* Terra sits back in the copilot seat, after grabbing a rune

* Chad`Winters catches the water rune and hands it to his techie he takes it.

* Chad`Winters moves onto the shuttle.

<Terra> "Well, you are fire."

* Chad`Winters eyes the remaining runes. 1"Terra take a strength rune.
<Ariel> Setsuna> "People almost died, you idiot!"
* Xanatos just hums as he sits there, shaking his head as all the cheesey lingo.
<DeathStar> 6* John tosses Terra a strength.
* Terra puts her strength rune(s) on
<Chad`Winters> NRP: She has a speed and a strength tho
<DeathStar> NRP: 1 strenght, 1 speed. Like Ariel.
<DeathStar> <John> That leaves 1 special and 1 strength. Any takers?
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl crosses her arms.
<Chad`Winters> I think everyones equipped now besides me and Cheryl.
<DeathStar> <John> Then it's yours, Chad. 6Throws him the bag.
* Chad`Winters catches the bag, putting both the runes on his hands.
<Ariel> Setsuna> *still protests the idea of putting one of those on her*
<DeathStar> <John> Alright, lets mooove it. 6Closes the ramp.
<Cassandra`> What's the plan?
<Chad`Winters> Side note, these runes can be pulled off. So guard your hands well. 6He slides to gloves over his hands.
<DeathStar> <John> Get to the Master Rune before Avalon.
<DeathStar> <John> And then beat Avalon to death.
<Chad`Winters> If not, atleast take off his hand,
* Terra puts on a pair of leather gloves over her runes
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis studies everyone with their runes.

* Chad`Winters eyes Erevis, something obviously perking his interest. He pulls off his right glove and pulls off the rune, tossing it to her.
<DeathStar> 6* John waits for Terra to fly out.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis blinks, catching it.

<Chad`Winters> Special Rune. I'm interested in how it augments to your latent psychic abilties.

<Ariel> Setsuna> "...someone has some sense." *refuses to let the rune she has, touch her skin*

* Chad`Winters grabs it, just nodding. 6He places it back on his hand, putting the glove back on.
<DeathStar> 6* The shuttle enters the atmosphere, plunging them into a darker atmosphere.
<Chad`Winters> How are we going to enter this? 6He glances at Setsuna not putting on the rune.
<DeathStar> <Erevis> It would be wise to avoid the enemy.
<DeathStar> <Cheryl> I say we hit them first. Before they realize we're here.
<Terra> "Sneak attack then."
<Chad`Winters> I'd say secure the rune first, than deal with Avalon.
<Terra> "That works."
<DeathStar> 6 *Erevis glances out into the darkness.
* Ariel sits calmly. No sense worrying before they arrive.
<DeathStar> 6* John whistles.
<Cassandra`> The rune we have a chance to capture...taking Avalon is still up in the air.
<DeathStar> <John> I say we nuke him, and take the element then.
<DeathStar> <John> But that would be boring.
<Ariel> "......"
<DeathStar> <John> ... 6He glances at Ariel.
<Terra> "Well, sure, getting killed isn't boring."
<Terra> "... if we nuked him, would we destroy the rune, though?"
<DeathStar> <John> I dunno. We could find out

* Chad`Winters glances around then rushes in behind John.
<DeathStar> 6* John stops, eyeing a circular idention in front of the rock door, then eyes. "I think there's words carved on here. Alien words."

* Ariel slowly proceeds over to look
* Chad`Winters stops next to John, then eyes the runes, studying them
* Cassandra` takes up a position near the others, waiting to fire...

<Terra> "What a shame we didn't bring an interpreter."
* Xanatos takes up position, his hands rest on his pistols as he waits for John and Chad to figure this out.

* Xanatos shakes his head. "We should all at least try. We dunno if the virgin theory is correct."

* Ariel gives Cheryl a motherly look.
<Chad`Winters> We have a choice now, we can either wait here for Sil to return or we can try to position ourselves to intercept and over whelm Avalon
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl grunts, then turns and walks over to the circle. "This is stupid. Nothing's going to happen."
<DeathStar> 6* Cheryl sticks out her hand and vanishes.
* Cassandra` nods.
* Chad`Winters stares, a slightly dead panned look on his face.
* Xanatos jumps up from his step, eyeing the door.
<DeathStar> 6* John stands there.

* Chad`Winters turns to look at John slowly
* Xanatos has his mouth dropped, slightly open. "I TOLD YOU!"

<Chad`Winters> I don't see her as pure in any...6He snaps his head towards the direction of the beam.
* Terra is just about to turn her back on the team when this happens. She instead spins around

* Chad`Winters backs up slowly, moving ove to John

<Terra> "I should be angry, but somehow, I'm not."
* Xanatos lets out a low whistle. "That looked painful."

<Terra> "Avalon, I presume?"
* Ariel activates her blade, turning to face Avalon
* Xanatos begins charging his pistols as he stands there, his body tense and ready to evade if needed.

* Chad`Winters kneels down beside John, moving his hand to John's throat to check for a pulse.

<Terra> "No, we're just here for the scenery."

<DeathStar> <Avalon> Ah. Wit. Unncessary at this juncture.

<Ariel> "You cannot enter."
<DeathStar> <Avalon> No, I cannot. However, your friends will leave with the Rune soon enough. Until then, I can accomplish a more important goal. Killing you.

<DeathStar> 6* Several spidery like dark creatures rise up.
<Terra> "... oh joy."
<DeathStar> 6* John gets to his feet.
* Chad`Winters narrows his eyes, quickly counting the creatures. 1"Get into shape John, we're going to need your rune."
<DeathStar> 6* There appears to be 10.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon forms a sword in each hand.
* Xanatos lets out another low whistle, shaking his head. A grin slides onto his face.
<DeathStar> <Avalon> LAst time I was willing to let the others go. No longer.
<DeathStar> 6* The Dark Ones launch. Three leap at xan, while two take on Chad, and one takes on Terra, and two for John, and two for Cassandra.
* Cassandra` readies a rapid fire blaster...
* Cassandra` then starts laying down fire at the approaching Dark Ones.
* Ariel holds her blade before her. She steps in front of Erevis, defensively.
* Terra fires at hers, punching it when it gets close
<DeathStar> 6* The dark one just flatten into the ground to avid the shots, then reform.
* Xanatos releases two charged shots for two individual dark ones, while diving toward the right to roll out of their initial attack.
* Chad`Winters stands up now, quickly kicking off the ground and pulling out his staff and spinning it outwards. It sparks with electricity now.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis studies Ariel, then Avaon.
<DeathStar> 6* The Dark Ones do the same to Xan.
<DeathStar> 6* John snaps his fingers, launching fire.
* Xanatos tilts his head. "Well that was a neat trick."
* Cassandra` hits a switch and fires a thermal shot at the ground between the two Dark Ones.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon launches himself at Ariel.
<DeathStar> 6* They scatter, then come in for a pinch attack at Cass.
<DeathStar> 6* One leaps at Xan's face, a tendril launching for hit.
* Chad`Winters spins his staff and extends one end, sending it flying at one of the dark ones.
<DeathStar> 6* Terra, meanwhile, has her avoid both attacks, attaching to her shadow.
* Ariel moves in to parry. Holding back as much as she can afford to.
<DeathStar> 6* The Dark One spider crawls away to Chad's side. The other comes in for his back
* Xanatos jerks his head to the left, diving to roll under it, shooting up at it as his roll completes.
* Terra spins, kicking at the thing, then moving back
* Cassandra` fires a grappling arm up the wall then starts a rapid retract aas she 'runs' up the wall, firing shots at the pair.

* Chad`Winters tilts his staff and presses it against the ground, extending it and sending him sliding away from the two
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon brings in down a sword for Ariel, testing her strength
<Terra> "... shit."
<DeathStar> 6* As Xan does thta, one touches his shadow, and he cannot move.
* Xanatos widens his eyes. "What the hell?" He attempts to break free of this.
<DeathStar> 6* The Dark Ones seem to be baffled momentarly by Cass. Chad gets away.
* Terra struggles to break free
* Ariel does her best to deflect the blade aside, in a manner using the least strength possible. If Avalon is using his strength, it'd be hard to direct properly.
* Chad`Winters reaches into one of his pouches, quickly fishing something out. He watches the two.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon is indeed using his strength on her. He takes the second sword for a horizontal slash.
<DeathStar> 6* Dark Ones approach Terra and Xan, as their friends ohld them down.
* Cassandra` switches ammo in the shot blaster as she moves, firing a flash shot down at them.
<DeathStar> 6* The flash shot sends them bouncing back.
<DeathStar> 6* They dash in at Chad, sending four tendrils at him.
* Xanatos grits his teeth, struggling to break free.
* Terra continues her struggle
* Chad`Winters tosses out to small orbs along the ground and he launches himself upwards and backwards again. The two orbs explode as the dark ones approach.
<DeathStar> 6* The Dark Ones halt.
* Chad`Winters twists around and extends the staff through the explosion at where he last remembered seeing one.
<DeathStar> 6* The staff stops, as if it hit resistence.
* Cassandra` then pelts the Dark Ones with suppression fire from her elevated position.
<DeathStar> 6* A tendril launches at Xan's gut.
<DeathStar> 6* One launches for Terra's head.
* Xanatos widens his eyes, sturggling to break free.
* Chad`Winters smashes the end of the staff to slam it into whatever it is.
<DeathStar> 6* They begin to scurry up the wall.
* Terra desperately tries to move
* Ariel parrys the blade likewise, suddenly adjusting her grip to no apparent effect.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis slides in front of Xan, slashing the tendril away from him. She turns psionically shoves Terra's head down.
* Cassandra` slaps a limpet mine on the wall then swings along the wall before releasing her grapple.
<Terra> "Thanks..."
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon steps back, then does an X strike.
* Xanatos exhales a sigh of relief. "Thank you."
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis, having drawn attention to herself with her act of psionics, just goes ahead and whacks those holding Terra and Xan off.
* Ariel hops back as well, out of reach.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon hops forward, aiming to spear with one sword.
<DeathStar> 6* The mine goes off.
* Terra takes a deep breath, moving back away from the shadows
<DeathStar> <Avalon> This is a sad display, Ariel.
* Cassandra` lands on the ground several meters away, skidding to a stop.
* Xanatos nods his head and jumps back away from the beasts, firing at them to give Erevis some cover.
* Chad`Winters reverts the staff back, eyeing through the clearing smoke
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis just stands there, holding her head.
<DeathStar> 6* Tendrils launch at Chad as soon as he does.
<DeathStar> 6* One comes behind Xan, aiming to tendril stab his back.
* Terra throws a grenade into the midst of them, careful not to hit any of her teammates
<DeathStar> 6* The grenade, uh, explodes.
* Ariel brings the blade up quickly to deflect the spear. A second blade springs to life, facing the opposite direction of the first, and slashing at Avalon in the same motion that deflected his blade.
* Chad`Winters spins to the side and extends his staff along the tendrils.
* Xanatos presses off from the ground, twisting his body so the tendril would miss him, he spins in the air and pulls his guns at the beasts, unloading into it.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon brings his second sword around to defend, he steps back, then attacks again wit ha diagonal strike with the first.
<DeathStar> 6 *Erevis shakes her head, then comes in behind Avalon.
* Terra fires on the beasts, keeping her distance
<DeathStar> 6* The Dark Ones seem to be backing off suddenly.
<Cassandra`> Something's up...
* Chad`Winters retracts the staff and pulls out a small plasma pistol, quickly unloading on the his retreating dark ones
* Ariel spins the plasma blades like a staff, swiping down at Avalon again.
<DeathStar> 6* John glances around.
* Terra stands ready
<DeathStar> 6* Chad is suddenly hit in the back hard enough to cause him to black out.
* Chad`Winters hits the ground with a thud.
* Terra spins to face whatever hit Chad
* Xanatos jerks around to see who Chad's attacker is.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon parries again. He suddenly goes rigid, his attention toward the newcomer
<DeathStar> 6* Standing there, at almost 7 feet of height, is a black creature on two legs, swirling black tendrils coming off it's body, it's eyes just black voids of darkness. It seems to have horns, or maybe it's tendrils that don't move.
<Terra> "... this looks bad."
<Cassandra`> ...what...is...that?!
* Xanatos tilts his head. "Uh..." he frowns.
<DeathStar> <So these are the humans> 6It says. Or, does it talk? Maybe it's just in their heads.
<DeathStar> <Avalon> General Desaeus. 6He notes sullenly, stepping back from Ariel.
* Terra laughs nervously.
* Ariel is focused. She doesn't head the new arrival yet. Her target is before her. She strikes for Avalon's hand, trying to derune him.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon turns. He holds up a hand and a shield forms from the rune, blocking her.
<DeathStar> 6* The creature steps forward.
* Ariel steps back, holding back a moment now.
<DeathStar> <Desaeus> <Mmmm. And so our pets could not beat these worthless beings, nor you, Avalon?> 6He grabs Chad and lifts him effortlessly.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis stares at the creature, almost as if looking at it hurts.
<DeathStar> <John> What? What? What's going on? What's being said?
<DeathStar> <John> Why are we all staring at him?
<Terra> "Why do you think we're staring?"
<DeathStar> <John> That's why I'm asking!
<DeathStar> 6* The spidery Dark Ones, which were referred to as pets, cower and retreat from the big guy
<Ariel> "......"
<Terra> "..."
<Xanatos> I think he's speaking into our minds...*he informs John*

<Terra> "He creeps me out, okay?"
<DeathStar> <Desaeus> <Enough. Kill the anchor, Avalon. I shall deal with these creatures myself.>

* Ariel slides back into a fighting stance.
<DeathStar> 6* Chad is wrapped up in tendrils, and squeezed, as Desaeus holds him
<DeathStar> <Avalon> It would seem I can no longer play, Ariel.
<Xanatos> Hey John. He wants to fight. Go get 'im.
<DeathStar> <John> Right. I'll burn Chad.
* Ariel just narrows her eyes.
<Xanatos> Well I'll just shoot Chad.
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon fires a Holy Beam at Ariel.
<Chad`Winters> GRRAAAHHH!!! 6Chad's eyes snap open as his entire face contorts in pain
<DeathStar> <Erevis> ... Chad. 6She looks up.
* Ariel dives aside. Moving for cover.
<Cassandra`> ...what the?
* Xanatos frowns. "He's going to crush him if we don't do something."
<DeathStar> 6* Desaeus stands there impassively.
* Terra watches, moving forward, almost reluctantly
<DeathStar> 6* Avalon dashes, appearing to the side with Ariel. He spinslashes.
* Chad`Winters continues screaming in pain.
<DeathStar> 6* Erevis dashes at the creature.
* Terra dashes too, once Erevis starts to
<DeathStar> 6* Desaeus launches a tendril from his chest at Erevis.
* Xanatos aims to shoot the tendril out of Erevis' way.
* Ariel kicks her feet out from under her, falling under the slash. She goes to kick Avalon's feet out from under him, before pushing back to her feet.
<DeathStar> 6* Xan would shoot ERevis before he could do that. Since she's in front.
* Terra uses the distraction to close on Desaeus, aiming an excessively powerful punch at him
