<DeathStar> 6* It's shortly after midnight, and Iceheart has led the Hunters to an area outside Mega City. The forested area around the city remains untame and wild, and they're near the McCormick residence by a couple of miles. Leaning against a tree, Iceheart flicks her head toward what appears to be a camp site in the woods; fires can be seen, and patrols are moving about

<Xanatos> 6* Cole picks at his ear slightly, leaning to peer out at the fires.
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> That's where they're keeping the weapons. I think they have something underground
<DeathStar> <Dominator on comm> Satelites aren't picking up anything in your area. They might have a dampening field blocking the station's sensors
* Anyata crosses her arms and peers out towards the fires.
<Wiendigo> Are there any vents nearby?
<Xanatos> <Cole> Not that far from John's. Maybe someone should warn him.
<Kit> <Null> Is this a combative engagement?" 6she whispers, blinking.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart kneels, then takes an ice dagger and draws in the ground, making a circle for the camp, then marks an X. "I saw steam coming out of the ground there; probably your vent."
<Anyata> "Probably, Null."
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> I couldn't get near it last time without alerting the camp.
<Wiendigo> That's our likely point of entrence, they wouldn't guard a vent.
<Xanatos> <Cole> Well, let's hop to it. 6He cracks his knuckles.
<Kit> 6Null pauses, then nods, holding up her hand and pulling her armor from subspace.
* Anyata looks at Wien, then nods a little.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart nods once, then takes a hand to wipe the dirt clean, peering back toward the camp fires; about 20 meters from them, blocking their route to the vent, two guards patrol obliviously
<Xanatos> 6* Cole kneels slightly and begins to advance towards the two guards.
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> So, can your lackeys handle those two, or should I?
<Wiendigo> We're about to find out.
<Wiendigo> All right kids, pop quiz: You have a patroling guard blocking you off from your best point of entry - How do you handle them?
* Anyata stands ready, arms lazily at her sides. She eyes Cole and waits a moment. "Silently?"
<Xanatos> 6* Cole slips up by a tree and peers towards the two slightly.
<Kit> <Null> Aren't you supposed to tell us, Wine?
<DeathStar> 6* The two guards stop, and begin to talk in German; something about McCormick.
* Wiendigo grimmaces at the name. "Listen, shithead, I'm not always going to be here to bail you out, you'll need to learn to think for yourselves. As helpless as that'll be for you."
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> They don't make them like they used to
<Kit> 6Null tilts her head a bit, but then shrugs, holding out her hand and pulling the revolver out of subspace, smiling. 1"Aye-aye."
<Xanatos> 6* Cole pauses and frowns, he slips forward now to try and snap the first's neck, before jerking forward to try and grasp the second's mouth and send a katar for his chest.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart squints, watching. "I read somewhere that one started a civil war."
<Anyata> "I read that too... thinkk it's true?"
<DeathStar> 6* As Cole moves forward and grabs the guard's neck, he lets out a noise ebfore it breaks; the second steps back out of the katar, aiming his weapon and trying to shout in German if given another second
<Kit> <Null> I saw it! Hee hee!
<Xanatos> 6* Cole jerks to grab his mouth.
<Kit> 6Null fires on the second, aiming for the head, squinting.
<DeathStar> 6* Cole does so, and the guard begins to pull the trigger, but is hit in the head and falls over
<Kit> <Null> Suppression!
* Anyata bursts forward quickly moving up, she stops just short as he's hit in the head. "...Point to Null." *she whispers*
<DeathStar> 6* The forest goes eerily quiet; people begin to move around the camp in their direction. Iceheart grunts, climbing a tree adn mvoing for the vents across branches
<Wiendigo> Ugh, sloppy.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole frowns and takes to the trees.
* Wiendigo points to Iceheart. "Follow her."
<Kit> 6Null salutes loosely and then trots after Iceheart.
<Anyata> * Anyata ducks under some tree cover, looking around.
<DeathStar> 6* Wiendigo would notice movement near Cole; something small.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole climbs a little higher, reaching out to pull himself up onto a branch.
<Wiendigo> Cole, wait!
<DeathStar> 6* As Cole begins to move, something small kicks him with enough force to knock him off the branch
<Xanatos> 6* Cole makes a huh sound and jerks beign knocked to teh ground with a thud.
<Anyata> * Anyata facepalms, looking for his attacker.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart makes a face, going still; landing on Cole is a squirrel with a monocule. It begins to speak in a cheesy faux German accent. "Vhat do we have 'ere?"
<Kit> 6Null blinks at Cole thudding in front of her and peers upward curiously. 1"Trip?"
<Wiendigo> ...What...the...FUCK?
<DeathStar> 6* Four guards, hearing the commotion, begin to head their way; it's clear htey haven't seen them yet.
<Kit> <Null> Wow! Cute!" 6She levels her gun at it, though.
<Xanatos> <Cole> ...are you kidding me?
<DeathStar> 6* The reploid squirrel goes Chitter, then begins to try to fry Cole
* Wiendigo holds his hand up; an aura of flamming energy begins to materialize
<Kit> 6Null kneels and attempts to shoot it off Cole.
<Kit> <Null> Bad critter!
<Wiendigo> We vdon't have any fucking time for this shit! *tries to vaporize the varment*
<DeathStar> 6* The squirrel flips out of the way of the shot, landing on Cole's head. "Guards! De inferior beings are 'ere!"
<DeathStar> 6* The squirrel is then hit by Wiendigo and is sent flying
<Xanatos> 6* Cole looks confused at the eletricity. 1That tickled. 6He pushes himself to his feet and then shifts to leap back up into the threes.
<Wiendigo> All right, two options - Retreat, or we're going in!
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart gets two daggers out, positioning herself over two of the four guards
<Anyata> * Anyata shakes her head and rushes over, making her way up after Cole. "In I say."
<DeathStar> 6* She then lets herself fall and plants the ice daggers into their skulls, landing in a kneeling position

<Wiendigo> G
<Wiendigo> Good, because you didn't get an option. IN THE VENT!
<Xanatos> 6* Cole shifts to leap to another branch and swings off of it to go flying to land on one of the two remaining guards.
<Anyata> * Anyata leaps off behind him, aiming at the fourth guard, striking down as she lands.
<DeathStar> 6* Cole lands on one of the two remaining guards; the fourth is struck down, falling over in a bloody splurt.
* Kit has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 180 seconds)
* Wiendigo fires a blast at the vent cover
* Kit[Offstillhurting] is now known as Kit
<Xanatos> 6* Cole jerks to send a fist for the back of his head.
<DeathStar> 6* Teh vent cover is destroyed. Iceheart moves over quickly to join Wiendigo
<Anyata> * Anyata dismisses her energy blade again and looks around at Cole's work.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard goes down after Cole hits him
<Xanatos> 6* Cole gets to his to his feet and moves after Iceheart, humming.
* Anyata shakes her head and makes her way for the vent now. "Rough... but effective."
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> So, you do this often? 6* She asks Wiendigo.
<Wiendigo> Ice, you go first, if there's anything waiting you'll get the redshirts to safety.
<Kit> <Null> Huh? This isn't a shirt, it's armor.
<Anyata> "I'm in black today."
<DeathStar> 6* She nods at Wiendigo, getting two more daggers to form, then shifts to enter the vent.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole gives Wien a thumbs up and steps up behind Ice.
<Wiendigo> Twiddledumb and Twiddledumbass, you're next, go!
<Kit> 6Null brings her other hand out and brings her saber out as well, arming herself with both weapons and follows after Iceheart. 1"Name's Null, Wine!"
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart and Cole land in a vent shaft; Iceheart craves a hole and drops down into a hallway; she peers both ways
* Anyata moves after Null, rolling her eyes a little.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole twists to fall down by Iceheart and peers around.
<Kit> <Null> But Anyata Twiddledumbass-- does that mean you're related to Dom Tightass?
<Kit> 6Null drops down with a clank beside the two already inside.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart squints at the team, then shakes her head
* Wiendigo makes sure no one is following the group, then drops in behind them
<Anyata> "Just Anyata, Null." *she dies a little swing and winds up next to Null.
<DeathStar> 6* MEanwhile, the squirrel shakes a fist from it's position. It vows revenge.
<DeathStar> -SCENE SHIFT-
<DeathStar> Location: Mega City
<DeathStar> 6* Ire throws out the last of Terra's shit from his office, then pulls a map of the city, putting tacts in at each sight of a murder that looks related to Ghoul

<Xanatos> 6* Phirax sits at his desk, polishing his rifle.
<Chad`Winters> 6Chad slowly and ever so quietly rises up from behind Phirax
* Elayne watches from her seat, tilting her head a little to get a better look at one spot when Ire moves near it.
<DeathStar> <Ire> There doesn't seem to be a pattern.
<Elayne> "A really random serial killer... huh."
<DeathStar> 6* He pops some asprin, adding the last tact, then steps back, eyeing the spots.
<Xanatos> 6* Phirax doesn't seem to notice Chad, cleaning the scope.
<Gravedigger> <Pope> He ain't random. There's a pattern, no matter how scattered.
<DeathStar> <Ire> Pope is right.
<DeathStar> <Ire> I just don't see it.
<Chad`Winters> 6Chad slowly peeks his head oer Phirax's shoulder. 1"WHAT YA DOIN?"
<Elayne> "Well, does it have to be in the location? How about other specifics?"
<Gravedigger> <Pope> *takes a good, long look at the tacks, thinking*
<DeathStar> <Ire> We're still IDing the bodies, seeing if there's a pattern there.
<Xanatos> 6* Phirax jerks and almost drops it, fumbling he lets out a breath of annoyance. 1You little shithead.
<DeathStar> <Ire> So far they vary in age, gender, weight.
<Gravedigger> <Pope> Don't bother. The bodies were random. The bank robbers were an afternoon delight.
<Gravedigger> <Pope> There's purpose, not reason.
<Chad`Winters> 6Chad beams and he bounds off to Ire's area and eyes the map. 1"Papa Slasher always said..."If you can't see what's infront of you, then change the way you look at things."
<Elayne> "So purpose... why is he killing all these people?"
<DeathStar> <Ire> Pope here knows more about Ghoul than anyone else. 6* He notes to the others. "Learn what you can from him about this particular case."
<Xanatos> 6* Phirax attaches the scope and stands up, peering over towards the map. 1I've only ever ran into a copycat of his I think. Never the real one.
<Chad`Winters> 6Chad tilts his head sideways to look at all the tacks
<Gravedigger> <Pope> Because he can. He's showing off. But it's also moving towards something bigger.
<Elayne> "So he's more of a psychopath, rather then a serial killer?"
<DeathStar> <Ire> He enjoys his games. And he enjoys playing with Pope.
<Chad`Winters> <Chad> If it's something bigger, maybe we should look at a bigger map
<Xanatos> <Phirax> Seems like he's just taunting us.
<Gravedigger> <Pope> 'E's not. We weren't in the game until we rushed in after the sodding bank robbers.
<DeathStar> <Ire> You're in the game now, though
* Elayne rubs her forehead a little. "How do we play a game when we don't know any of the rules?"
<Chad`Winters> <Chad> I always cheat.
<Gravedigger> <Pope> The only rules are we die.
<Chad`Winters> <Chad> I don't like those roles.
<Elayne> "I feel like breaking that rule, anyone else?"
<DeathStar> 6* Ire moves over and grabs a foulder from the cabinent file; a thick file labeled Ghoul, tossing it down on the desk
<Xanatos> 6* Phirax hmms and rubs at his head. 1Hey those people dying, any word on their professions?
<DeathStar> <Ire> I'm going to review the older cases. See if I can remember details about his imo. The only problem is he liked to change it as he evolved.
<DeathStar> <Ire> Student, bar tender, four bank robbers, an elderly lady with a limp...
* Gravedigger growls as he looks at the map, then stomps over to the coat rack and grabs his jacket. "I'm goin' out."
<Chad`Winters> <Chad> Maybe the bank robbers were just in the wrong place
<Xanatos> <Phirax> Hmm. So much for that thought.
* Elayne looks over at Grave. "Want some company? Probably not best to go out on our own."
<Chad`Winters> <Chad> He couldn't have known they'd wander into that warehouse
<DeathStar> <Ire> Hm. He was using the warehouse to store bodies. Maybe we should look into other similiar locations he'd keep his victims.
<Chad`Winters> 6Chad beams at that. 1"Good thing I brought up that warehouse."
<Xanatos> <Phirax> I can help go through the case files with you, maybe there was a location he used more than once. A stomping ground or something like that?
<DeathStar> 6* Ire takes a datapad. "Fine."
<Gravedigger> <Pope> *growls as he looks at the map, then stomps over to the coat rack and grabs his jacket* "I'm goin' out."
<Chad`Winters> <Chad> I know. We could use Pope as bait.
* Elayne looks over at Pope. "Want some company? Probably not best to go out on our own."
<Gravedigger> <Pope> No. *storms out*
<DeathStar> <Ire> Pope. 6* He notes, peering up. "He's likely to slap you with a clue or taunt before he makes his next move. Becareful."
<DeathStar> 6* Ire then peers back down; oddly he doesn't order anyone to follow Pope.
* Elayne shrugs and sits back. "Maybe he wants alone time."
<Gravedigger> <Pope> *slams a few doors on his way out*
<Elayne> "Angry alone time."
<Xanatos> 6* Phirax grabs a seat and pulls it up, then begins to sift through the files. 1He'll get himself killed if he can't keep control...again.
<Chad`Winters> 6Chad shifts closer to peer at what Ire is peering at, eager to learn
<DeathStar> <Ire> Probability. But if we follow him, Ghoul is likely to kill whoever does, then dump the body at Pope's fe.t
<Elayne> "Wow."
<DeathStar> <Ire> Lets begin. Familiarize yourself on all aspects of the Ghoul case.
<DeathStar> -SCENE SHIFT-
<DeathStar> Location: Forest Base
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart presses against the wall of the hallway; down the way, a camera pans back and forth, over a door

<Xanatos> 6* Cole stands back slightly, peering towards Ice.
* Anyata keeps back as well, eyeing the camera.
<DeathStar> <Dominator on Comm> We just had another page appear in the book. Apparantly whatever you're about to do there causes the 5th Column to take hostages of John's family
<Kit> <Null> Oh, a camera! So what now?
<Xanatos> 6* Cole jerks, eyes widening. 1..maybe I should go give them some backup?
* Wiendigo hits his com. "Soo why aren't you sending a team out to protect his family, Dom?"
<Anyata> "But if we haven't done it yet..."
<DeathStar> <Dominator on Comm> I'll send the rat.
<Anyata> "...Rat?"
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> So, kids, what's the best way to deal with a camera? 6* She asks them
<Xanatos> <Cole> I have electricty to short it out. 6he notes.
<Wiendigo> Well, there's hope for one of you, at least. Do it.
<Anyata> "That'd do it. No more of a giveaway then when they find thsoe Nazi corpses outside near a blasted open vent."
<Xanatos> 6* Cole leans around and aims with his finger, squinting he attempts to zap the camera.
<Wiendigo> Shove it, shrimp.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart peers the way they came to see if any guards are showing up; so far it's quiet, though there's a slight skitter sound from the ceiling
<DeathStar> 6* The camera dies down.
<Anyata> "Yes boss."
<Kit> 6Null slowly peers upward.
<DeathStar> 6* A monocle peers down at Null; the squirrel falls from the ceiling toward her face, sparking with electricity. "HAIL HITLER!"
<Kit> 6Null lets her gun go back to subspace and reaches out to grab him with her hand. 1"Aww, he's so cute!"
<DeathStar> 6* The squirrel tries to shock her
* Anyata stops herself mid swing and stares.
<Wiendigo> Ice, freeze that thing!
<Kit> 6Null smiles at it, trying to absord the electricity for more useful purposes.
<Kit> <Null> Hey, hey, what's your name little guy?
<Anyata> "I-I think she's got it handled boss."
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart nods, then touches the squirrel; a moment passes, then it becomes an ice cube
<Kit> <Null> Aww! I didn't get to-- Hey, Wine, can I keep it? Huh, huh, can I?
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> You really know how to pick them, Wien.
<Wiendigo> You, smartass. *points at Null* Can you dump other things into your little portal?
<Kit> <Null> Of course-- as long as they don't get too out of hand-- but this guy's not real big, if that's what you mean.
<Kit> <Null> Smaller then my armor, that's for sure!
<Wiendigo> Good, then dump it in there.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole watches them, and rubs his neck.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart shifts toward the door, then uses her ice dagger to break open the door panel and the door opens.
<Kit> 6Null blinks, then attempts to do so.
<DeathStar> 6* The squirrel is dumped into subspace
<Anyata> "That's a neat little trick."
<Kit> 6Null gives a thumbs up.
<Kit> 6Null brings her gun back out, wielding a weapon in either hand again.
<Xanatos> <Cole> You hack about like I do. 6He moves after Ice.
<Kit> <Null> It's awesome for shopping. I don't have to carry everything for dinner in my arms.
* Anyata pats her and moves along.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart peers inside; it's a large storage area full of crates with weapons and stuff inside; one part of the room has cyrogenic chambers
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> ... I think there's guards in there waiting for us to step in
<Xanatos> <Cole> So. Me first then?
<DeathStar> 6* She nods at a pair of feet visible behind one chamber, and the outline of one head behind a crate
<Wiendigo> No, hold on.
<Wiendigo> I've got a little surprise in store for 'em.
* Wiendigo whispers into Iceheart's ear
<Xanatos> 6* Cole tilts his head slightly. 1Wonder what's in the Cryo thing?
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart cocks her head a little as she listens, a smile there. "Will do." 6* She puts her hands together a moment, clearly using her ice powers against each other; a mist begins to form and the tempature begins to drop as she touches the floor
* Anyata watches with interest.
<Wiendigo> Try to stick to the dense areas, but watch out for panic fire.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole steps back and tilts his head, watching her.
<Kit> <Null> Hey! Inverted thermal energy. Sweet!
<DeathStar> 6* The mist begins to fill the room; the cyrochambers seem to aid in it, probably Iceheart tapping into them as well. One guard murmurs in German about not being able to see
<Wiendigo> Take them down fast and quietly.
<DeathStar> 6* Three guards rise up adn fire blindly at the entrance area; only 1 out of 4 shots even flies out of the door
<Kit> 6Null ducks down and moves into the room quietly with her beam saber activated, moving to cut them down since it's less noisey.
<DeathStar> 6* Four more guards rise up and fire about at Null's area, able to see the saber it seems
* Anyata moves out after her down low, moving towards one of the guards as they give themselves away with gun flashes.
<DeathStar> 6* One guard curses and smashes a crate open, grabbing one of the new vaporizing guns, and aims at Null's beam saber, firing
<Kit> 6Null puts it in front of her as a partial shield, then attempts to absorb some of the shots-- apparently intentionally a decoy.
* Anyata slices at her guard as soon as she closes in.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole lets out a whistle and jumps in, throwing out lightning toward the three original guards.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard screams as Anyata slices him; one nearby aims at her, firing away
<DeathStar> 6* Cole's lightning strikes the three guards and they fall over, twitching; a second guard follows another's example, getting a vaporizing gun
* Anyata quickly ducks low and moves around to the guards side.
<DeathStar> 6* As Null's saber is hit, it begins to vaporize
<Xanatos> 6* Cole leaps up onto a crate and spins around, firing toward the first vaporizing soldier with his minigun.
<Kit> 6Null narrows her eyes and focuses, channeling some of the absorbed energy and lets the saber glow, moving forward to cut for the second vaporizing guard, aiming to cleave for him-- through cover and all.
* Anyata slices at that guard as soon as she gets near.
<Kit> 6Null blinks then shutting it off and panicking. 1"H-Hey, it's overheating or something."
<DeathStar> 6* Cole's mini guns take the guard out, and Anyata's strike hits the other one. A gun blaster lowers from the ceiling, taking aim at Cole
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> Just turn it off, then back on; the energy should be back
<Kit> <Null> I-- I did shut it off.
<Kit> 6Null turns it back on, eyeing it.
<DeathStar> 6* It seems it's fine again; as long as the handle isn't struck directly
<Xanatos> 6* Cole pauses and drops down behind a crate.
* Anyata draws her blaster and takes aim, firing at the gun blaster.
<Kit> <Null> Cool. You rock, icelady.
<DeathStar> 6* Teh blaster is hit; it aims at Anyata, firing at her
* Anyata quickly runs away from that spot, diving behind some cover.
<Kit> 6Null peers up, raising her revolver now, apparently able to charge it as well, releasing a second-level blast for the turret.
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart turns as four guards move down the hallway toward their position. She tosses a dagger at one's throat, then moves into the storage room
<DeathStar> 6* The turret sparks
<Kit> 6Null crouches, then leaps up, slashing with the renewed saber
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart reaches over, then begins to hit the door panel, shutting it so the other three are delayed; Null's attack takes out the turret
<DeathStar> 6* By now, the mist has evaporated
* Anyata puts away her blaster and looks around at the situation. Peeking from her cover.
<DeathStar> <Iceheart> So, I guess now we grab as many weapons as we can, then blow this place?
<Kit> <Null> Area secured! For the moment.
<Anyata> "See how much Null can carry."
<DeathStar> 6* She moves over, picking up a vaporizing gun, then moves to one of the cyro chambers.
<DeathStar> 6* Inside are dead bodies being preserved it seems.
<Kit> <Null> I-- Well, maybe a fair amount. Until I raise my energy capacity, though, I can't carry all of this.
<Xanatos> 6* Cole breaks open a crate to steal one of the vaporizing guns. 1Sounds good.
<Anyata> "Take as many as you can then." *she grabs a gun herself*
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart aims at the ceiling ,vaporizing a path back to the surface.
* Wiendigo emerges, wiping blood off of himself
<Xanatos> 6* Cole begins to whistle as he starts draping guns over his shoulder, if they have straps at least.
<DeathStar> <Dominator on Comm> If you plant the charges on the chambers, it should be enough to blow up the base.
<Kit> <Null> Actually, I have an idea!
<Wiendigo> anyone got charges?
<Kit> 6Null smiles brightly. 1"Shoot me!"
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart reaches into her trench coat, holding up some
<DeathStar> <Dominator on Comm> ...
* Anyata looks at Null and raises her normal blaster. "You sure hon?"
<Xanatos> <Cole> I wouldn't. 6He suggests to Anyata, then moves over to peer up at the hole.
<Kit> <Null> Awww, I'm not afraid of energy. It's my specialty. Besides, if I can absorb some I could double my capacity for a little while. It's one of my abilities.
* Anyata looks between Null and Cole. "She's weird, but she tends to know what she's doing."
<DeathStar> 6* Iceheart plants the charges. She doesn't use conventional energy attacks.
<Kit> <Null> Temporary, but only until we get back to base, right
<Wiendigo> Here. *pulls of his jacket* Dump whatever you can in here and haul it up. *tosses his jacket to Anyata*
<Xanatos> <Cole> Well not with these guns at least. You'll be fried.
<Kit> <Null> Yeeeeah. Energy only, please.
<Kit> 6Null smiles nervously. 1"Oh, and not a ton at once, yeesh."
* Anyata nods and starts to fill the jacked up, making a bundle. "I've got a normal energy blaster. Could always stab her too."

The front steps look rotted, and the front door open. There's literaly dozens of windows, and when lightning flashes, shadows can be seen inside

<DeathStar> 6* After entering the front door, they'd be i na lobby area of sorts; two majestic stairs are on either side of the room leading up to the second floor; the second floor railing is rotting and missing pieces, and there's some holes in it that would dorp them back down to the first floor part of the room
