Session Ident: #taw
* Logging #taw to 'logs\EsperNet\#taw.20100105.log'
<DeathStar> Date: 3.13.2389
<DeathStar> Location: The Kingdom of Navarro; Capital Navarro
<DeathStar> 6* It is the evening before the tournament begins the next day, and last minute entries into the various categories are rushing to the colosseum. Kaelan Di'neer, having traveled to the capital with a group of soldiers, is on her own, the nobleman with them having signed up earlier.
<DeathStar> 6* The city is bustling, despite the evening time, with people on the streets peddling their goods - mostly food items, though some are lucky enough to have jewelry; they are all lined up near the gates of the sign in station
<DeathStar> 6* In the distance, across the massive city, which is made of gray colors and stone, the hanging gardens of the palace rises up, seen even from this location, and the smell of the sea drifts in from the opposite direction.
* Kaelan stands in line herself, a proud looking woman of nearly twenty years, her long blonde hair falling about herself, wearing the leathers and simple cloth of a blacksmith, a sword buckled to a a belt which rests at her hip. She looks towards the sign in station, having decided to herself to go through with this. She steels herself and heads in.
<DeathStar> (6* Though this story teller thinks she looks really old for her age)
* Topic is '| Phase 1: Prophecies | Session 13: The Binding String of Fate | RP on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at 8 EST | TAW4 ended on 459 | DS' Wish List: More 360 Gold | http://thealienwars.com/Stories/Trilogy/TrilogyS.html'
* Set by DeathStar!Gilmore@238-169-82-209.planters.net on Wed Dec 30 00:15:42
* ChanServ sets mode: +o DeathStar
<DeathStar> 6* As Kaelan moves, at the back of a long line that seems to stretch on and on, and though there's no clocks, by the setting sun, it seems she only has an hour left before the sign ins are cut off. Judging by the line, this may be not enough time. Coming in behind her, another woman, Zeal Silas, arrives, having just arrived recently into the city herself
<Zeal> 6Zeal stretches, allowing herself the luxury to yawn quietly, then peers around before gazing down at her grieves and boots there underneath, making a disdainful expression as the soil on them. Most of her journey from seas, but the short trek was enough to soil their edges, sullying her otherwise clean and proper appearance, bright in colour and expensive materials and well-kept halfplate.
* Kaelan frowns, looking up and down the lines, her eyes stop as they focus on Zeal, she stares a moment, then smiles in recognition. "Zeal...? Is that you?"
<Zeal> 6Zeal peers up slowly, accustomed to hearing her name in towns, but the fact that she's a long way from home prompts her to looks inquisitive, instantly looking surprised. 1"Ah, the smithy's girl."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I wonder what the odds of that might be.
* Kaelan smiles, "Kaelan, and... pretty large I'd say... are you here to sign up as well?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> Technically I am on leave to be here, but yes, I plan to represent the templars. I thought it might be a good opportunity to regain some respect for combat archery.
<Zeal> 6Zeal looks around, then smiles. 1"...And find some new trinkets, of course."
<Kaelan> "Sign ups end in an hour..." *she motions down the line* "I don't think either of us are going to make it."
<Zeal> 6Zeal stares, leaning to the side to peer down the length of the line, whistling.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Hm, kidding you're not.
<DeathStar> 6* As Zeal peers down the line, she'd see a redneck fisherman near to the front, possiblely close enough to actually sign in. He appears to be about 24, and despite his fisherman look, seems attractive enough.
<Kaelan> "I rarely kid." *she smiles softly despite the attitude of the line* "Any ideas?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> I suppose I could see what perks my status gives me?" 6She tilts her head, walking around the line to peer around the crowd at the front to those taking names. 1"Hello?"
<Chad`Winters> 6The fisher stud rubs the back of his neck as he get's impatient at the pace of the line
<Zeal> <Zeal> I am here to represent the knights of the church, are there still openings...?
<DeathStar> 6* The person behind the booth, sighing as most people have to sign their name with a symbol, eyes Zeal breaking in line. "Back of the line, miss."
* Kaelan leans out to watch her, showing her youth by leaving a foot at her place in the line. She eyes Zeal's respectable looking target.
<Chad`Winters> 6The fisher dude looks at Zeal, budding in line. 1"Hey, that's cheating."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I have come a long way to be here." 6She smiles charmingly at the fisherman. 1"And I offer a rare skill to contests such as these... Surely you would not complain, or do you find the church's participation 'cheating?' I suppose I might have more favor."
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> Yeah? How long a way is that?
<DeathStar> 6* The guy in the booth just lets the Fisherman handle it; if he wants to let her cut, that's his deal.
<Zeal> <Zeal> I represent Oas from Sinai, here on behalf of the templars of Sinai.
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> Never heard of it, sounds interesting tho. 6He peers around then shrugs. 1"I'll let you cut in line if you go out on a date with me."
* Kaelan watches her fellow Oasian work her charm, she bites her lower lip a bit.
<Zeal> 6Zeal pauses. 1"I-- ... have never been on a date in my life. It is frowned upon women of the church to do such things on whim, I should think." 6She looks over at Kaelan and smiles mischievously, pulling her over. 1"However, this girl here is as fine as any, right? A fellow Sinai islander and in a more free lifestyle."
* Kaelan looks a little startled at being offered to a man. She looks at Zeal, then back at the Fisherman.
<Chad`Winters> 6The Fisher checks her over, tilting his head a bit. 1"How about both of you then?"
<Zeal> 6Zeal coughs behind her hand. 1"Is it proper for those of Navarro to dally with many women at once?"
<Kaelan> "Well... I can handle a date, I suppose, if Dad is alright with it."
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> I'm not from Navarro so I believe it's quite alright.
<DeathStar> 6* The sun gets lower; it's now clear the Fisherman's spot in line is their only hope, as more have gotten in the back of it
<Kaelan> "Perhaps we should sign up before the light is gone?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> I am personally not sure I feel comfortable considering a date, but I will certainly accompany my old acquaintance here.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok glances up. 1"Well I'd honestly hate to have all these people behind me get mad at me unless I got something like a harmless date out of it."
<Kaelan> "I can make up for her, if you'd like, Dad is a master smith, can look over your weapons before the tournament, how's that?"
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> Double-date sounds better. 6He holds his hands up innocently. 1"Just out to eat, nothing fancy."
<Kaelan> "Oh come on Zeal. For the pride of the Templars."
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> Maybe even a drink.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Tell you what, I take you up on the drinks and then we decide if we can stand one another long enough for a date.
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> A date for one. 6He looks over at Kaelan.
<Kaelan> "I'll go out on a date with you, no problem."
<Chad`Winters> <Fisher> Hop on in then. 6He motions. 1"By the way, my name is Dahok Fyro."
* Kaelan hops in. "Kaelan Di'neer."
<Zeal> 6Zeal nods her head pollitely, taking off a ring to present the registration. 1"I am Zeal Silas."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok goes to shake both their hands. 1"So you two are from Sinai?
<DeathStar> 6* The people in the booth take the ring, eyeing it over, writing down her information. "Sword combat or archery?" 6* He asks boredly.
<Kaelan> "Yes, until a short while ago."
<Zeal> <Zeal> That is the signet of my seal." 6Then looks surprised. 1"They are seperated, are they?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> That's unfortunate.
<DeathStar> <Man> Not every mighty swordsperson uses a bow. 6* He notes.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> So what's this line for again?
<Zeal> <Zeal> Likewise, not every archer uses a sword. I suppose I will just have to try to shine a bit more. Archery, sir." 6She smiles.
<Kaelan> "It's for the tournament."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Really? I thought it was to get in. 6He peers at the sign ups. 1"Fancy that."
<DeathStar> 6* He puts her name in that category. Zeal might notice some people have signed on for both. Probably overachievers.
* Kaelan stares a little. "I-It's not even until tomorrow. Big day for me too."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Is using a bow forbidden in the swordsman's category, and likewise?
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok steps up next. 1"I guess I'd like to sign up."
<DeathStar> <Man> Yes. 6* He tells Zeal. He peers at Dahok. "Name and category?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Dahok Fyro. Their a category for staff users?
* Kaelan steps up behind Dahok, waiting.
<Zeal> 6Zeal nods, then steps away. 1"I can hold my own, but I will not embarass myself competing with blademasters."
<DeathStar> 6* The man stares at Dahok. "No; if you want to compete in the sword combat with a 'staff', then your defeat is on your hands."
<Zeal> <Zeal> There is still time, should I try to find something now...?" 6She considers.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok rubs the back of his head. 1"Well I suppose that'd be a bad idea..."
* Kaelan looks at Zeal. "If you need a blade... come back with me after you sign up, I wouldn't mind another there advertising our weapons."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks at Kaelan. 1"You just give them awaY?"
<Kaelan> "She's practically family."
<Zeal> 6Zeal pauses, peering at Kaelan. 1"Oh, no need. I still have your father's 'Hawk Feathers.'" 6She pats her hips, the blade handles more apparent when she does.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Oh. Well I guess I probably shouldn't sign up then.
* Kaelan looks over at the sign up guy. "I'd like to sign up."
<DeathStar> <Man> Name and category?
<Kaelan> "Kaelan Di'neer, sword."
<Zeal> 6Zeal smiles at Dahok. 1"If you wish to test your talent and you have any skill with said staff, I might encourage you still try. Many of these sword-reliant countries believe anything else is inferior, and that a staff is simply a walking stick."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> But what if I get seriouslly injured?
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Then I couldn't date either of you.
<Zeal> <Zeal> It is not to the death-- you could simply forfeit if it looked bad.
<DeathStar> 6* The man jots down Kaelen's name boredly. He eyes Dahok, as if waiting for him to make his mind. One impatient person behind them steps up, shoving Dahok aside.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> ...6He raises a brow then looks over at the sign up guy and stumbles a bit. 1"Sword." 6He eyes the guy. 1"Hey relax buddy."
<DeathStar> <Man> You and yer whores are taking up what time we have left, fisherman. 6* He says; he seems to be about 6'4 and all muscle, but ugly as sin
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> First off, their not whores. I hope. Second off, don't be jealous that I have two very beautiful woman at my side.
<Zeal> 6Zeal pauses, frowning. 1"Excuse me, good sir, but I would appreciate not being called such--" 6She eyes Dahok, surprised.
* Kaelan peers at the man, her hand goes to the hilt of her blade at the term 'whore'.
<DeathStar> 6* The guy in the booth writes down sword. He looks at Dahok. "Name?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> Dahok Fyro.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok jerks to look at Zeal then at the man
<DeathStar> <Man> Yer definition of beautiful is lacky. Unless you just like melon sized breasts.
<DeathStar> 6* The guy boredly writes down the name, spelling Fyro with an improper letter; since the language isn't basic, I want say 'I'.
<Zeal> 6Zeal eyes Dahok. 1"What you lack in speech, you clearly make up for in goodwill and manners. I will remember the name."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dias shifts to stand by the man and looks at the girls breasts. 1"Well they are quite the nice size.
<Chad`Winters> NRP: Dahok
* Kaelan narrows her eyes. Her wrist angles and seperates the hilt from the top of it's sheath. She barely seems to notice Dahok's lewd action.
<Zeal> 6Zeal pauses, her face reddening a bit and puts her arms over her chest. 1"E-Excuse me. Need I rescind what I just said about manners.."
<DeathStar> 6* The man seems to eye Zeal's breasts, then thumbs at Kaelen. "And she's rather ordinarary as well. Doesn't even haf big melons to make up fer it."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> This is true, but it's all about quality. And I can assure you, these two fine ladies are atleast a 9 out of 10.
<Zeal> <Zeal> If you wish to sign up, it is your turn, sir. Otherwise I would suggest you leave my sight before I have you arrested for slandering a church official like a common courtesan." 6She looks less embarassed and more serious at this point, possibly angry.
<DeathStar> 6* The man snorts, then states his name and swords, giving Dahok a smile that lacks some teeth; he moves off now.
* Kaelan slowly slides the sword back into place, watching the man move off.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Hrmph, such rabble. Kaelan." 6She states sharply, turning to the girl.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok smiles back and shifts over to the girls. 1"Did I protect your girl's honors right?"
* Kaelan peers over at her, her mood changing, she smiles a bit. She nods to Dahok courteously.
<Zeal> <Zeal> I see your temper has not changed any. Had you drawn, you would have been arrested, mind your head.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Their would have been no drawing of swords. I had it handled.
<Kaelan> "Yeah... I know, but the bastard was impuning on our honor. I can't stand bloated thugs like him."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Avoiding violence of any sort is the best policy. Manslaughter would sully my reputation just as much as some lout's unsharpened tongue.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> And if you would've gotten hurt, I would've felt bad.
<Kaelan> "I suppose." *she sighs a bit* "Do you have a place to stay yet Zeal?"
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok peers at Zeal .
<Zeal> <Zeal> I was going to inquire at the local chapter.
<DeathStar> 6* The sun sets finally; outside, the people in the streets continue to peddle their wares, however, lights come in on establishments like taverns, lit by burning Shining Ore and placing them in lanterns
<Kaelan> "Nonsense, you can stay with Dad and I, if you'd like. We owe you more then that."
<DeathStar> 6* Music can be heard coming from one of the establishments, and lanterns strung across the streets from one building to the next light up as well, providing areas of the city with light
<Zeal> <Zeal> Otherwise I have enough saved to stay someplace with comfort." 6She smiles to herself. It's true, the only thing she ever saves her money for is trinkets, stuffed animals and luxuries abroad.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok spreads his arms now. 1"I hear quite the unique music. How about we all check the place out
<Kaelan> "I suppose, Dad won't get too worried if I'm out for a bit, I hope."
<Zeal> 6Zeal looks at Dahok, turning to the sound, then him. Obliged by her earlier agreement, she nods. 1"That is well enough. Shall we?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Let's shall!
<Zeal> <Zeal> Kaelan, you are old enough to venture on your own. If you are that worried, I will speak with him before we retire.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok holds out both arms to the girls
* Kaelan begins to move towards the inn. "He's... never been the same since the attack Zeal, he sees me as all he's got left after all." *She stops and takes Dahok's arm*
<Zeal> 6Zeal pauses, then offers her's, obligated to be proper as well by her upbringing.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok leads the two girls to the establishment
<DeathStar> 6* It seems to be a rowdy establishment, but not of low-class either; the people here seem to just be excited and drunk for the tournament. Pher and Phan's Tavern is written on the entryway, carved into wood. The tavern itself seems to be two stories, with rooms upstairs, and tables abound downstairs. A fireplace is located as well, though is not in use due to the warm weather
<Zeal> <Zeal> Ah, well these commonplaces can have their own charm."
<Zeal> 6Zeal smiles softly, gazing about curiously.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> This is quite the interesting place. 6He peers around curiously
<Kaelan> "It's how I usually waste my evenings when Lord Kalo stops in a town, or when he's home. When Dad's not working on a masterpiece that is."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks over at Kaelan. 1"Masterpiece?
<DeathStar> 6* A lot of the tables are taken, though one booth in particular seems fairly empty with only two occupants, compared to other booths with 6 or more. A man and woman. They appear to be sitting across from each other, but leaning forward closely, not afraid of personal space, and talking over ale and soup
<Kaelan> "Dad's a master smith, like I said, most of his work is revered, but when he gets some special order or new idea, he goes a little crazy in terms of his dedication to getting it made."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Her father is quite the craftsman. Love and pride in his work." 6She reaches to draw out one of her blades, a shortsword, lightweight and engraved with light etchings on the blade's length like feathers.
<DeathStar> 6* The woman appears to be about 18 years of age, with long dark hair that comes down to her lower back; her hair is situated just right so that no matter how she moves it, it seems to cover her ears perfectly, and her bangs remain parted out of her eyes, never wavering. It's clear she has something in it to keep it from moving, possiblely so that in battle it won't get in her way. She's wearing strange clothing, (cont)
<DeathStar> 6* Which is to say, barely anything; she seems to have a top made of some type of animal fur, and a loin cloth of the same material; a bracelet is on one arm, made of bone, and she seems to have a sword and bow on the booth beside her. She wears booths made of the same animal fur as the loin cloth and top; this seems to earn her stares from the drunken men about the bar
<Xanatos> 6* The man is a relatively tall, muscular with long hair coming to his neck and shaggy. His face sports a rugges bit of beard, though it's more of a 5 o'clock shadow. His outfit is something more native in the fact it's leather wrappings, though he sports a cloak that's currently just wrapped around his shoulder.
* Kaelan draws her blade just a little to show the metal worked into the hilt and cusp of the blade, a winding, solid looking double heron marking, patterned with an older lettering for D. "Dad's mark."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok eyes the free table then glances at the sword. 1"It's quite elegant." 6He shifts to move over to the table of two
* Kaelan follows Dahok, peering about the inn quietly as she does.
<Zeal> 6Zeal replaces it in her hip scabbard, drawn along, peering at the two sitting. 1"Would you two mind some company?"
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok eyes Zeal being so forward.
<Xanatos> 6* The man pauses and peers up towards them slightly, then glances to the girl.
<DeathStar> 6* The girl shifts her head to peer at Zeal and Dahok, blinking, almost as if wary a moment; she seems to be getting a lot of drunk men talking about her looks, possiblely what the two were talking about before they came
<Zeal> <Zeal> It is quite crowded as is, but to drink, the more the merrier, no?
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> You'll have to excuse my friends. Hi, my names Dahok Fyro, this is Zeal Sials and she's Kaelan Di'Neer
<Chad`Winters> NRP: silas
<Zeal> 6Zeal curtsies with a smile, probably looking out of place amongst the other two.
<Xanatos> <Man> You're sure there's not another place you can sit?
<Kaelan> "It is awfully crowded."
<Zeal> 6Zeal eyes him, then gazes around at the full tables again, looking troubled.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok glances around then looks at the man. 1"It's quite packed and I assure you, we won't cause any troubles."
<DeathStar> 6* The girl peers about the bar, then at the man. "There doesn't appear to be anymore tables opened, Valen. ... and if more people sit here, maybe ... they'll stop coming over." 6* She eyes at three burly men.
<Xanatos> 6* The man, Valen, lets out a breath and nods. 1Alright. Welcome. 6He motions, then slides to be closer to the girl.
* Kaelan smiles softly and bows her head, respectfully letting Zeal take a seat first.
<Zeal> 6Zeal follows her gaze, blinking at the men. 1"Ah, I see. Forgive my intrusion." 6She nods, then moves to sit next to the 'girl' and providing a probably less-than-threatening-looking buffer to the men.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok takes a seat, adjust his stuff a bit. 1"Thanks, my legs are tired from standing in line all day."
* Kaelan takes a seat last, looking relieved to be off her feet as well, but not about to freely admit it.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Line? 6He returns to his soup, keeping his eyes on the ground.
<Zeal> 6Zeal shifts, letting her bow, having been over her shoulder and hidden behind her for the most part, down onto the floor-- heavy, and giving a solid sound as it rests finally.
<Kaelan> "For the tournament."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> For the tournament, but I will admit, I thought it was to get in.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Ah. A poor misfortune, then.
<DeathStar> <Girl> All of you-- are going to be in the tournament, then?
<Zeal> <Zeal> Indeed.
* Kaelan nods. "That's correct."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Well I joined anyways. I figure I came all the way here, why not atleast experience something new.
<Zeal> <Zeal> A policy I would toast.
<DeathStar> <Girl> You are all from far away ,yes? Your accents are different than those of Navarro.
<Kaelan> "Zeal and I come from Oas."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I did manage to get the opportunity to date two very beautiful girls out of it atleast. 6He nods knowingly to Valen
<Zeal> 6Zeal nods to the girl, finally replacing her signet ring on her hand, the symbol of a desert rose, the joke of her back in Sinas' city.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Ah, that reminds me!" 6She reaches to her other side, rummaging in a traveller's satchel for a moment before removing a fountain pen, an inkwell and some parchment.
<Chad`Winters> <Dias> And yes to answer your question, I'm not from around here. 6He nods to the girl
* Kaelan looks over at Zeal, curious. "Writing tools?"
<DeathStar> 6* The girl peers at Dahok with a tilt of her head, then at Valen, then back. "Where, then, are you from?"
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers up slightly, glances to the two girls then Dahok. 1I see. Where are you from, then?
<DeathStar> 6* The girl appears to have fair skin, despite the native garb.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok holds up a hand. 1"May I atleast get to know your name first?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> I promised I would keep a record of that which I encounter in Navarro. For the children in Sinas.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen frowns and looks to the girl.
<DeathStar> <Girl> Me? Oh, I apologize. Rachael Hilund.
<Kaelan> "Oh..." *she looks up and bows her head* "Nice to meet you, Rachael."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> A very beautiful name. 6He smiles at her then nods. 1"I'm from the port city of Whit.
<Xanatos> <Valen> I am Valen. Valen Lankin. 6He says simply giving a slight nod to them all.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Whit? 6* She looks at Valen, as if asking him for more details.
<Zeal> <Zeal> The fishing prime?
* Kaelan nods respectfully back to Valen.
<Xanatos> <Valen> An island village, right?
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses and nods towards Zeal.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok look sat Zeal. 1"Nope." 6He looks at Valen and nods. 1"Yeah, from the Island Nations."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I once had reeg fish from Whit. It was delectable." 6She swoons.
<Zeal> NRP: Reef! Good grief
* Kaelan smiles a little. "I like fish myself... I've sampled some from that region."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Really? 6He peers at the two curiously
<DeathStar> 6* A waitress who looks like she's been harrassed once too many times tonight makes her way to their booth, letting out a tired breath. "Getcha orders?"
<Xanatos> <Valen> It's a long journey from the nations to here. Your feet must be throbbing.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> They definetly could use a rest. 6He shrugs and looks at the waitress. 1"What's the special here?"
<DeathStar> <Waitress> The soup is edible.
<Kaelan> "Oh, I came with the Lord my Dad is working for." *she looks at the waitress* "Ale... and soup then."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I know I am ready for a bath and a change of clothes to remove the salt from the sea. It will have to wait early morrow however, as it is too late to find clothes now..
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I'll just have your finest ale then?
* Kaelan looks at Zeal. "You can borrow something of mine tonight."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael takes another spoonful of her soup, then takes her ale, drinking it and looking buzzed. "More ale for me." 6* She smiles at the waitress.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Oh no, that would not do." 6She waves pollitely, then smiles at the waitress, as if avoiding saying why.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> So what brings you two here? 6He looks at Valen and Rachael
<Xanatos> <Valen> I'm content. Thank you.
<DeathStar> 6* The waitress nods to them all, locking her tired gray eyes on Zeal. "And you, ma'am?" 6* She seems to know of Zeal's connection to the church
<Zeal> <Zeal> A dark wine, if you might, and something small.
<Zeal> <Zeal> I am dieting." 6She makes a face.
<DeathStar> 6* The waitess bows her head respectfully, then moves to get their orders ready.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Personal matters, boring at that.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Boring to you, but maybe interesting to me.
<Kaelan> "Dieting? That's where you only eat some kinds of food right?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Hm. Are you a noblewoman? 6* She asks Zeal curiously.
<Zeal> 6Zeal starts to write in calligraphy on the parchment, describing the sea at first. A bit too much, really, it starts to sound more like poetry than a letter.
<Kaelan> "She's a Templar."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Me? Heavens no, milady." 6She looks up as Kaelan explains, then smiles warmly, returning to writing.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> A Templar? 6* She pauses, as if trying to recognize the term, then pauses, letting out a cough as she takes a spoonful of soup
<Kaelan> "A particularly brave one at that."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses slightly and glances to her, 1A member of the..church, if I'm correct?
<Zeal> <Zeal> I suppose it is as close to being a noble as riffraff from the plains such as us can become, however." 6She jokes.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I take offense to being called a riffraff.
<Kaelan> "Yes, a sort of Knight."
<Zeal> <Zeal> My pardons, sir Fyro. I was referring to Kaelan and myself. Oas is an open plains with nomadic peoples.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> It is? That sounds interesting. 6He looks at her now. 1"You say you're a Templar. What exactly is that?"
* Kaelan looks down a little at the table. "I'm more close to riffraff then you Zeal, I'm only a blacksmith's apprentice."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Nonsense, your father is a righteous man with a good head and able hands. You are of any good bringing I could mention." 6She looks to Dahok. 1"A templar is a knight of the church's service."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen watches them each as they speak, his eyes peering them over slowly.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Church? 6He leans back now, losing a bit of interest. Then looks at Rachael. 1"You know what the most interesting part of the Island Nations is?"
* Kaelan looks away a little and ties her long hair back with a red ribbon, revealing a slightly tarnished silver chain about her neck.
<Zeal> <Zeal> They harbor the main branch of the Church, right?
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael pauses, having been acting more interested in her soup for the last minute. She looks at Dahok. "The..sea?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Exactly. 6He points at Zeal. 1"The sea. It's a beautiful yet frightening place at the same time."
<DeathStar> 6* The waitress returns with their orders, setting down Zeal's drink and a fresh apple that looks to be the finest they probably have here. She then sets down the other orders.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I know it can be very turbulent. It shook my up on the way here. 6* She takes her new ale, sipping it with fascination.
* Kaelan gently takes her mug and bowl, then starts to eat. "I like the sea... only ever been a few times."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> You have to know the sea, respect it, love it and trust it. If you're not careful it'll swallow you whole. But it can also give you so much in return."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I found it gorgeous. Endless and vast, reflecting colours of the skies the light given to it is played with in churning patterns of dancing vibrancy. Standing on the deck can take its toll, however, the salt gets in everything, drying your skin and making clothing abrasive... It is not an unpleasant smell, though I prefer something more subtle.
* Kaelan eats with a surprising hunger, focusing on the bowl and practically quaffing it as she scoops bit after bit.
<Zeal> 6Zeal nods her head graciously the waitress, trading her a coin for the apple.
<DeathStar> 6* The waitress bows again respectfully, moving off to serve another table.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> ... we're suppose to give her coin before the meal ends? 6* She eyes Valen now, panicky.
<Kaelan> "Generally, yes."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen blinks and glances to Rachael.
<Zeal> 6Zeal blinks at Rachael. 1"No, worry not, milady."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok takes a drink of the ale. 1"Different."
* Kaelan looks at Zeal and smiles. "You're being generous again."
<Xanatos> <Valen> The end. That was a....tip I believe is the word.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Kaelan, this is an eatery and pub, not a tradegoods shop. You pay for your meal and drink afterwards, that was merely courtesy. She looks to have had a rough night.
<DeathStar> 6* One of the burley men smack the waitress' ass to send her on her way with their order
<Zeal> 6Zeal rolls up her writing for the moment and sets it away, taking up a knife and the apple, carving out a slice and savoring it with a smile.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> So if I had a rough day, do I get a coin? 6He peers at Zeal now
<Kaelan> "Oh... right." *she looks a little sulky at being corrected, but mollified at the same time*
<Xanatos> <Valen> It must be difficult, being a waitress.
<Zeal> <Zeal> She is performing a service, sir Fyro.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> It seems so. 6* She nods in agreement to Valen.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Hmmm. 6He rubs the back of his head as he thinks
<Kaelan> "No more difficult then a shift over the forges." *she looks down at her finished bowl, starting to drink down her ale*
<DeathStar> <Rachael> So, you two ladies are from Oas. Are you childhood friends? 6* She asks curiously, her words a bit slurred.
<Kaelan> "Oh well..." *she looks at Zeal* "No... we both sort of got moved away from Oas when we were young."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers at Rachael slightly, tilting his head.
<Zeal> 6Zeal tilts her head a bit, cutting another sliver and offering it to Rachael to try if she's curious. 1"Hm, to be honest, I really recall nothing of Kaelan prior to meeting her and her father in the Wastelands."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Wastelands? What's that?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> An unfortunate happening had us relocated from our original ties of earth.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael smiles, taking it. She takes a bite, then smiles, eating it all and chewing. She pauses, then bows like the waitress did
<Xanatos> 6* Valen now peers to them curiously.
<Kaelan> "Dad moved us out to a fortress, to better his craft so we could mvoe somewhere even better... didn't end well."
<Zeal> 6Zeal seems delighted at her reaction, cutting another piece for herself, and then offering once more to Rachael.
* Kaelan frowns and eyes her mug rather coldly, like it did her wrong.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael takes it again, bowing once more, then innocently eats it, peering at Kaelen's reactions with confusion. "What's a fortress?"
* Kaelan slowly looks over at Rachael. "An outpost, a base for soldiers. Heavily walled village with guards."
<Zeal> <Zeal> A fortress is a fortified location intended to be armed to defend against intruders or attack.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Oh. Like the palace? 6* She points out the window at the palace that can be seen
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok peers out and whistles
<Kaelan> "Oh... no... well... sort of, only not so fancy, much more... dirty. Soldiers everywhere."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Not necessarily, although some castles could certainly be considered fortresses. There are two kinds. Outposts and converted. Outposts are purposely built to maintain a position of strength for the military.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Converted fortresses are usually civilian towns or buildings that have been rearranged and altered to become them.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Oh. It doesn't... sound nice.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael finishes her ale again, peering out and sighing as the waitress seems to engaged to take notice
<Xanatos> <Valen> I believe they use a large bit of stone.
<Kaelan> "Ours was on the borders... we were attacked by the Empire." *she looks at Zeal* "That's how I met Zeal."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok shifts his ale towrads Rachael
<Zeal> <Zeal> They lack the comforts of a typical civil establishment such as this.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen holds his hand out to stop Dahok, shaking it slightly, his head that is.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok glances at Valen with a confused look
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael frowns at Valen, but seems to not argue it.
<Zeal> 6Zeal peers at Rachael, seeming a bit amused, and offers another wedge of apple. 1"It is more lady-like to drink slowly."
<Xanatos> <Valen> She's had enough for tonight.
<Chad`Winters> 6He then looks at Rachael and shurgs taking a drink from it. 1"Oh. Sorry then."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Lady like? 6* She repeats without understanding, taking the apple wedge and bowing again. She eats it like a nibbler.
<Zeal> 6Zeal nods. 1"More proper." 6She takes her wine, finally drawing a few sips.
* Kaelan looks over at Zeal in embarrasment, putting down her empty tankard. "Oh..."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Proper? 6He rubs the back of his head. 1"I like woman who act like themselves, personally."
<Zeal> <Zeal> There is nothing wrong, then, if I am naturally proper?
<Kaelan> "I've never been good at being a lady."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Of course not. 6He smiles at her
<Zeal> 6Zeal smirks at Kaelan. 1"Some things change little, though. Please, do not stave yourself on my behalf, it was merely a bit of knowledge."
* Kaelan smiles a bit. "Alright."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> So tell me about yourself Rachael.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael pauses as a few guys in the bar begin to get rough, pushing each other. One slurs out: "Yeah? How about we haf ourselfs a round 1 right 'ere?"
<Zeal> 6Zeal clears her throat, peering at the two.
* Kaelan sighs a little. "Well, on the bright side, they'll be out of the competition if they fight."
<DeathStar> 6* The men don't seem to notice Zeal's throat, even with the tavern getting quiet. They each fumble for their swords comically trying to unhilt them
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok glances briefly at the two getting ready to fight.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen glances up slightly towards the ones bickering, looking interested.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Gentlemen!" 6She raises her voice. 1"This establishment has plenty of work ahead of them without needing to clean you two up from the floor. If you wish to make a scene, make it outside, no?"
<DeathStar> 6* The men eye her, pausing, then each other; they both stumble out the door and into the street, pulling their swords free.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen makes a face, glancing to the side with a slight tense of annoyance.
<Xanatos> <Valen> They will surely kill each other.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Well there goes a good fight.
<Kaelan> "And now we won't get caught up in a bar brawl." *she tries to make it sound like a good thing to hide her disappointment*
<Zeal> <Zeal> Really, the manners of some." 6She sips her wine. 1"If they do so, then they have no one to blame but themselves."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Rather barbaric. 6* She notes
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> It is?
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Killing people for no reason - ... or is thta common here? 6* She peers at Valen
<Zeal> <Zeal> When one cannot educate, a barbaric act can only be met with another." 6She glances at the two. 1"Would you wish for me to spare their lives, or their dignity?"
<Xanatos> <Valen> It must be.
<Kaelan> "Some believe honor to be more important then life."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I can say I've never killed anyone.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers at Zeal, but doesn't say anything. She eyes people in the bar already glancing at their table; specifically, at Zeal.
<Xanatos> <Valen> It's getting late. We should go. 6He notes to Rachael.
<DeathStar> 6* She pouts a bit, reaching her hand out along his arm. "But---I'm not tired." 6* She says.
<Kaelan> "We should probably go too before there's trouble."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok follows Rachael gaze then rubs the back of his neck as he looks at Valen.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Are you two staying nearby?" 6She looks to Valen
<DeathStar> 6* Outside, a drunken howl can be heard as a man loses an arm. Those who went outside to watch point and laugh
<Kaelan> "There's one less in the tournament tomorrow now."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen frowns slightly as he peers at her, seeming to consider staying longer, glancing to Zeal now. 1It's not a terrible distance from here, no.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers out the window, grimacing at the scene. She seems to redebate staying now.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Would you like to accompany me? I still need to contact the local chapter of my arrival.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I wonder if there's any place that has a spare room
<Zeal> <Zeal> If a room can be spared, no doubt companions of mine should be welcome.
<Kaelan> "You're coming back with me, right Zeal?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Oh, no thank you, um, Lady Templar. We should go to our rooms like Valen said
<Xanatos> 6* Valen nods once to Rachael. 1It was a pleasure to meet you, at any rate.
<Xanatos> 6* He says to the others.
<DeathStar> 6* She reaches to get her pouch and carefully places down coins for their food, then puts it back up by tying it to her wrist. She takes her sword and bow.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Ah, please just call me Zeal. It was a pleasure meeting you, sir Lankin, milady Hilund.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Well, I hope to see you again. 6He bows to Valen then shifts to take Rachael hand and kiss it
<Zeal> 6Zeal rises to allow Rachael and Valen out.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Um, just Rachael. 6* She notes to Zeal, then pauses at Dahok, blinking
<Xanatos> 6* Valen eyes Dahok and her hand.
* Kaelan lays down coin for her meal and shifts to get up.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen places down a few coins for the food and tightens the cloak, pulling the hood up over his head, he reaches out a hand for Rachael.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael seems embarrassed, as if unsure what to do back. So she takes his hand and kisses it once, before moving to take Valen's hand
<Zeal> <Zeal> I pray we meet again.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Perhaps. 6He says in response with a light nod. Then, he turns and moves for the exit.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok steps back, smiling
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael waves once, then lets Valen lead her on outside. The waitress comes to collect her coin
* Kaelan looks to Zeal and Dahok. "I'll accompany you while you report in Zeal... you really can spend the night though." *she sounds hopeful*
<Zeal> 6Zeal sets out enough for her fruit and drink, then an extra.
<DeathStar> 6* Teh waitress bows to Zeal. "You are gracias, ma'am."
<Zeal> <Zeal> It seems I will be single-handedly responsible for your ill-form tomorrow if I do not, Kaelan.
* Kaelan smiles and nods. "Y-Yeah!"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> So you really think you ahve a place for me to sleep, Zeal?
<Zeal> <Zeal> Hm, well it would seem that is up to sir Di'Neer, not I, as I will not be staying with the chapter if Kaelan can help it.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok peer sat Kaelen. 1" You're offering me your bed?"
* Kaelan blinks, eyes going wide. "Wh-What?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I jest. 6He gives her an innocent smile
* Kaelan looks away, crossing her arms. "I-I can ask my Dad if you can stay too."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Just a place to rest my tired legs.
<Zeal> <Zeal> How beautifully the bird is aflutter.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks at Zeal. 1"I could always rest with you. For warmth."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I am afraid that is an impossibility, sir Fyro.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> And why is that?
<Kaelan> "She's a maiden of the church." *she grins a bit*
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> And?
<Zeal> <Zeal> Pampered I may be, but a single pillow on my bed I prefer.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I can share a pillow.
<Kaelan> "Well, let's go!" *she interrupts, starting for the door of the inn*
<Zeal> 6Zeal shoulders her bow, following Kaelan.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok grabs his stuff and moves after the two
<Kaelan> "Do you need to report in now, or can it wait till morning Zeal?"
<DeathStar> 6* The streets have emptied a bit, except for an arm and blood on the ground. The vendors seem to be done for the night and have left, giving the streets an empty feel; even some of the lanterns aren't burning Shining Ore now
* X1 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 180 seconds)
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Wow it get's quiet around here.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Where is it you are staying, Kaelan? I will leave my impression and be along at once.
<Kaelan> "The Queen's Rest." *she points towards the palace, where there are some much fancier inns* "Over that way. Are you sure? I can come with you."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I need little assistance to pass word." 6She curtsies, then walks down a path for the local church's residing.
<DeathStar> 6* The camera stays with Kaelan and Dahok, since they are 2.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok shifts his arms behind his neck. 1"So how was your date? First one?
* Kaelan moves down the streets with Dahok. "It... it was alright. Sort of my first real date, yes. Though you many not want to mention it to my Father."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> He a scary guy?
<DeathStar> 6* As they continue, they can see, up ahead, Valen and Rachael have been stopped by a five looking thugs. One steps close to Rachael. "Where ya from, girlie? The jungle?" 6* The others laugh
<Kaelan> "He was a soldier before he was a black---" *she frowns, moving forward*
<Xanatos> <Valan> I suggest you move about your business. 6He notes, shifting in front of her.
<DeathStar> 6* Two of the other guys step forward, grabbing at either of Valen's arms. The one guy sneers. "I was havin' a talk with the girl 'ere. I just wanted the pouch of coins, but now...maybe I want a bit more."
* X1 has joined #taw
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok shifts his hands behind his back, then shifts his arm around Kaelan, moving towards the two + 5
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael steps back, frowning. She seems to want to reach for her sword, but doesn't. "Leave Valen alone...!" 6* She snaps, eyeing the wall of a building blocking her from backing up more
* Kaelan moves closer, a bit surprised at Dahok's grasp.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen sneers back, his arms being restrained.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok whispers something in Kaelans ear, smiling
<DeathStar> 6* The five guys laugh. "Oh, hear that? Sure, we'll leave him alone. If you show us the goods, jungle cat." 6* He motions at her chest.
* Kaelan blinks and raises a brow, then shoves Dahok over towards the five.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok stumbles towards them
<DeathStar> 6* The guys peer over; the two not restraining Valen step over, blocking Dahok from coming closer. "Move along."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen shifts to stop down for the one on the left's foot.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok grabs onto the guy to catch himself. 1"I'm sorry."
<Xanatos> NRP: Stomp
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael glances at Dahok, looking surprised at seeing him. She peers at Valen when he stomps down, causing the man to let out a yell and let go of his arm. The two blocking Dahok peer back, as does their leader.
<DeathStar> <Man> This one's a fighter. 6* He notes, holding his foot, and swinging his fist for Valen's jaw in anger.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen brings his free arm around for the guy holding his right now.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok suddenly shifts a bit and swings his right forearm towards the guy's nose, a solid sound if it hits
* Kaelan waits, watching with a hand on her sword handle again.
<DeathStar> 6* The guy being held lovingly by Dahok grabs his nose, cursing as he steps back; his buddy eyes Dahok, having turned from Valen, and throws a punch for his gut. Rachael, meanwhile, brings her sword's hilt out and hits the leader in the groin with it, causing him to yell in pain
<Xanatos> 6* Valen's head snaps slightly and he jerks to bring his elbow out for the left attacker, making an annoyed sound.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok hurks and stumbles back a bit, then swings his left hand out, coming short, but a staff slides out of his sleeve to make up for the distance, aiming for the man's chin
<DeathStar> 6* The man is hit by the elbow, and the guy hlding his arm lets go, steps back, and tries to tackle him to the ground.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen jerks around, kneeling slightly to let the man collide into his back, which would let out a loud thud.
* Kaelan slips around towards the leader, drawing her sword and attempting to knock him out with the butt of her blade.
<DeathStar> 6* The man is hit in the chin, his head snapped upward and he stumbles back. The leader snarls. "Lets go!" 6* He turns and runs for it, and those around him follow; the man who tried to tackle stumbles, dropping a pouch of coin, then runs off.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok coughs a bit as he shifts the half shaft back into his sleeve. 1"That was awesome. Did you see me?" 6He looks at Kaelen then at Rachael
<Xanatos> 6* Valen watches them go, then kneels and lifts up the pouch to peer in.
* Kaelan frowns a bit and sheaths her weapon again, watching them go. "You did well Dahok."
<DeathStar> 6* There's 50 coins inside.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Are you okay, Valen? 6* She moves, touching his jaw worriedly, then peers at Dahok and Kaelan. "Thank you so very much."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers up and nods, giving her a smile, before looking to Dahok and Kaelan. 1Yes, thank you. 6He offers out 10 gold to each of them.
<Kaelan> "It was nothing, it was all Dahok's doing." *she looks at the coins*
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> That's what friend are for, right? 6He offers a smile and peers at the 10 gold and takes it. 1"Thanks."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Let us atleast walk you two to where ever you're going."
<DeathStar> 6* At that moment, Zeal can be seen approaching, probably on her way to the inn
* Kaelan takes the coins quietly and puts them into her own pouch.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Ruffians should watch where they run...
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok quickly shifts over to look Rachael over. 1"Are you ok, though?
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pockets the pouch and peers towards Zeal slightly.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Yes. 6* She frowns at Valen's jaw. "We should buy some herbs for your jaw."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I thought everyone was retiring?
<Xanatos> <Valen> I'll be fine. 6He says to her, relaxing his stance slightly.
<Zeal> 6Zeal inclines her head slightly. 1"Something happen?"
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks over at Valen's jaw
<Kaelan> "We ran into some ruffians."
<Zeal> 6Zeal stares at her, then sighs. 1"Five scruffy-looking sorts heading quickly that way?" 6She gestures the way she came.
<Kaelan> "Correct."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen's jaw is red, with a slight tint of blood in the corner of his mouth, but he seems to be okay, it's hard to even see because of the cloak.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> He looks like a strong guy, he should be fine
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael leans against Valen, looking dizzy now that the adrenaline is gone. "I guess I should find another place for my coins."
<Kaelan> "Place for your coins...?"
<Xanatos> <Valen> Yes, I agree.
<Zeal> <Zeal> She had them tied to her wrist.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Well she isn't wearing much for clothing
<Zeal> <Zeal> People bother me little for they are close to a blade, however, in your case I might suggest keeping them within your clothing, or tied to your shoulder behind your underarm, so that a shawl or cloak conceals them.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael frowns, then takes the pouch off, carefully trying to put them in one of her boots.
* Kaelan tucks her pouch into her shirt. "This works too."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Why not have Valen here hold onto them?
<Zeal> <Zeal> I am sure she worked hard for them, and would like to keep something to herself, sir Fyro.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> If we got separated, I'd be without coin
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I don't think Valen would steal from her.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks at Rachael and makes an oh face. 1"Makes sense
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael finishes getting the pouch into her boot, then stands up. She smiles again. "Thank you again for helping us. I was worried about Valen's safety."
<Xanatos> <Valen> It's good for her to have some on her, for emergency situations. 6He nods when Rachael says that.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Hah." 6She smiles at the response. 1"You two should come along. It will be safer all together, and it is only for a single night, no?"
<Xanatos> <Valen> I could have handled it. But yes, it's appreciated.
<Zeal> <Zeal> If you do, I can prepare a salve for sir Lankin's honorable swelling there. I am an apprentice apothecary.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> What's that?
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Oh, we appreciate it, but we have our own room not far from here.
<Xanatos> <Valen> We're barely a few building's walk now.
<Zeal> 6Zeal shakes her head at Dahok, smirking. 1"It is a fancy word for one who knows their way with herbs."
<Kaelan> "Come along then." *she starts to make her way to the inn again, leading the way, privately wondering what she's going to say when she brings a small legion back*
<DeathStar> 6* She turns, peering about, then turns again, squinting, then points in the correct direction
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> We'll walk you guys there, to be safe.
* Kaelan pauses and looks back.
<Zeal> <Zeal> I must agree with sir Fyro. Or at the least, long enough that I might prepare the salve. miss Rachael can apply it at your own stead.
<Xanatos> <Valen> I will be fine, you're kindness is appreciated, but it's really more work for a simple punch to a jaw.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> The walking? Hardly. I'd love to spend more time getting to know Rachael.
<Zeal> 6Zeal crosses her arms. 1"It is no trouble at all. Something for swelling is quite simple, and you will not feel a thing. Though it is not so much the swelling as the swindling I worry. Louts like that are often prideful, yet will succumb to base revenge in numbers over pride lost."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers at Dahok, blinking at that. "But you already have two women, don't you?"
* Kaelan tugs her ponytail gently, looking between them all.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Apparently it's not enough.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I'm always about getting to know people. I feel you can never not know enough people.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Ah. He is like Grier. 6* She nods with understanding
<Zeal> 6Zeal squints at being referred to being one of Dahok's women.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Well, if you want to walk, okay. 6* She says, taking Valen's hand and leading him. "It is only a few buildings, though."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I insist." 6She notes, with mild annoyance, turning toward the path to the inn with Kaelan. 1"I would welcom the practice..."
<Chad`Winters> <Da
<Xanatos> 6* Valan nods to Rachael in response to the Grier comment, being led along. 1Very well, if you need the practice.
* Kaelan moves down the road again, keeping an eye out.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Perfect. 6He claps his hand together. k1"So tell me some more about yourself Rachael."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Um.... I don't really know what else to say. 6* She shrugs
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Well what do you enjoy doing?
* Kaelan looks at Zeal. "Dad'll be glad to see you again."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Hm. Well, I enjoy cooking the food that Valen and I hunt.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> So you two are hunters of sorts?
<Xanatos> <Valen> Sometimes you have too when you're out in the wilds.
<Zeal> 6Zeal nods to Kaelan. 1"It will be good to meet with sir Di'Neer again.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Cool. I have a way with fishing, myself
<Xanatos> <Valen> Oh? Fishing is very relaxing. I only wish I were better at it.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I've never tried it. 6* She stops outside an inn that looks like it's run down and not very nice.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Well I consider myself an expert at it, I could show you how if you ever wanted to learn
* Kaelan looks up slowly at the building. "You're... staying here?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Well, I don't know if we'll have time, but thank you for the offer. 6* She peers at Kalaen, confused now. "Is it... weird to stay here?"
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok peers at the place, rubbing his chin
<Xanatos> <Valen> That's a kind offer, but as she said, we most likely won't have time.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Heaven forbid, I insist you come away with us.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Seem's like a nice place.
<Xanatos> <Valen> We'll be fine here, it's perfect for what we need.
<Kaelan> "Are you sure?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> It's very reasonablely priced and I only saw one rat.
<Xanatos> <Valen> I'm sure.
<Zeal> 6Zeal looks at Valen unapprovingly. 1"Sir Lankin, whether it was minor or major, you just scuffled with locals and are staying in a place that looks like a mild rain will collapse the roof and walls. I implore."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Consider Lady Rachael's well-being at least.
<Kaelan> "Rats?" *she stares a little* "Come with us!"
<Xanatos> 6* Valen eyes Zeal. 1I won't repeat myself.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Neither will I.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok eyes the two, clearly not understanding what's so bad about the place
<Kaelan> "Sir Lankin, please, I can't allow this, the inn I'm staying at is far nicer then this."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael shifts, almost nervously. "Um, I find it very comfortable here. I'd rather stay here, Lady Zeal."
<Xanatos> <Valen> Thank you for your assistance. 6He tells Dahok and Kaelin, then takes Rachael's hand to move into the place.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael is led along
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks at the two. 1"You think you'd cover for them, the cost that is?"
<Chad`Winters> NRP: The two being Kae and Zeal
* Kaelan sighs a bit and tugs her ponytail again. "If we all crowded the room I'm in it'd still be better... come along." *she marches towards her inn again*
<Zeal> <Zeal> I never said anything of making them pay for a bit.
<Zeal> 6Zeal shakes her head. 1"But if the girl says so, I have no place arguing with the the unreasonable one.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok glances at Rachael and Valen then shifts his hands behind his back. 1"Well hopefully I'll see you again."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael waves once, with a smile, then is led on inside, the door shutting
<Xanatos> 6* Valen nods as he nears the door. 1Good luck with the tournament.
* Kaelan heads down the street, she waves to Valen. "Thank you."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok swoons a bit then jerks and turns to catch up with his two dates
<DeathStar> 6* Once they arrive at the other inn, a much more respectable place, a guard is actually at the door, to keep the riftraft away. One look at them and he snidely speaks. "The rooms are taken."
<Zeal> 6Zeal moves around Dahok and eyes the guard. 1"Pardon?"
<Kaelan> "I'm with Lord Kalo."
<DeathStar> 6* The guard eyes Zeal, then at Kaelan, sniffing once. "Sure you are."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Did he just sniff you?
<Kaelan> "I am Kaelan Di'neer, daughter of Lord Kalo's smith."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I believe so. I see, as I am only here on favor of my friend lady Di'Neer here, I have no trouble returning to the church and writing my report of this inn's ill treatment of official guests.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard snidely eyes Kaelan again, then the other two. "And let me guess - this is Lord Kalo's nun and his fisherman?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> How'd you know I was a fisherman?
<DeathStar> <Guard> You reek of fish
<Kaelan> "This is Lady Zeal, of the Templars, and Master Dahok here is a friend."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok shifts to smell himself.
<DeathStar> <Guard> Mmmhm. A Templar. OF course. Not staying at the church and not wearing the proper colors. They must be very lax these days
<Kaelan> "I'm sorry, what's your name?"
<DeathStar> <Guard> Hmph. I am Niles.
<Zeal> 6Zeal starts to look annoyed. 1"I happen to be on leave."
* X1 has quit IRC (paradox.esper.net triton.esper.net)
* Kogitsune has quit IRC (paradox.esper.net triton.esper.net)
* Gatsu has quit IRC (paradox.esper.net triton.esper.net)
* X1 has joined #taw
* Kogitsune has joined #taw
<DeathStar> <Guard> On leave you say? Why, so am I!
<Kaelan> "Well Niles, now I know whom to refer to when Lord Kalo wishes to know why one of his retinue was denied entry without having the mind to go and check."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok lokos between the guard and Niles
<Zeal> 6Zeal lifts her hand, displaying her signet ring. 1"I am Zeal Silas of Sinas. Stave your tongue before I remove it."
<DeathStar> <Guard> Remove it, you say? Well, maybe you are with the church; always quick to wave that power around and threaten to remove limbs."
* Gatsu has joined #taw
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok shifts to stand near by Kaelan now. 1"I'm with her."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I am pollite when addressed respectfully, as I have been met with nothing but jeer and insult.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I'm sure he's just doing his job. No reason to be rude to him.
<Zeal> <Zeal> There is no love lost in my manners for one so lowborne as yourself.
* Kaelan sighs a little. "Zeal... just let him go check."
<DeathStar> <Guard> Perhaps I am insulted by your outfit; how could I not mistake you for a whore, after all? 6* He bows, overly so. "Pardon me so much."
* Kaelan puts her fingertips gently to her forehead and sighs even more.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Enough. I will greet Di'Neers another day, Kaelan." 6She turns to leave.
<Kaelan> "Zeal, wait."
* Kaelan has a strain to her voice now, she's clearly been holding back for Zeal's sake.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Come on now, I'm sure we can all get along.
<Kaelan> "Sir, please go and check, now."
<DeathStar> 6* The guard seems amused, then knocks on the door. A window in it opens. "Do we have a ... Kaelan Di'Neer on record? Or should I be giving these poor riftraft the end of my sword?"
* Kaelan eyes the guard, she bears a good resemblance to her father when she's pissed off, and now is one of those times.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok himself looks relaxed
<DeathStar> 6* A moment passes, then the voice affirms. The guard peers them over. "Right then. Well, for security reasons, only you can go in." 6* He tells Kaelan.
<Kaelan> "They're guests with me."
<Zeal> 6Zeal makes her way back toward the chapter, out of view of Kaelan and Dahok's gaze, looking pissed herself.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks at Kaelan then the guard. 1"Really?
<DeathStar> <Guard> Oh my, a lowly smith's daughter can bring in guests now, can she?
<Kaelan> "I was unaware you're now the innkeeper or my Lord. Let us through."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Lowly?
<DeathStar> <Guard> No. 6* He tells Kaelan, losing all humor from his face. "And if you try to order me around, wench, I will deal with you myself."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok pats Kaelen's shoulder. 1"It's alright, Kaelen. I'll find somewhere else to sleep.
<Kaelan> "Dahok, no, wait here."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok rubs the back of his neck now
* Kaelan eyes the guard. "I'm going to go have a little talk."
<DeathStar> <Guard> You do that. 6* He opens the door for her. "Enjoy yourself now."
* Kaelan moves in, seeking either Lord Kalo or her father. She already looks a short throw away from drawing at this point.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks at the guard once she goes in. 1"So give her a few moments then just move on?"
<DeathStar> 6* The guard closes the door. "I would. You won't be getting in."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I didn't think so, it was worth the try tho, right?
<DeathStar> <Guard> If you hurry, maybe the Templar will give you room and board. The Church does enjoy charity.
<DeathStar> <Guard> IF they're in the mood.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> I've never enjoyed the Church myself. Too many rules.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard grunts, eyes Dahok, then names an Inn. "They should have room. Just say Niles sent you."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Really? You're a gentleman. 6He bows slightly to him
* Kaelan opens the door again, looking out, she looks crestfallen. "...Sorry Dahok."
* Kaelan looks at the guard and bows her head. "...And sorry... sir."
<DeathStar> 6* Kaelan supports a redmark from bothering the Lord
<DeathStar> <Guard> Oh, a bit of respect now, is it? Very good. I'll forget it this time, then
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> It's alright Kaelen. 6He winks at her then moves off for the inn he was given
<Kaelan> "...Many thanks, sir..." *she nods to Dahok, then slips inside*
