Session Ident: #taw

<DeathStar> Date: 3.26.2389
<DeathStar> Location: Rukon
<DeathStar> 6* After a long night in the hut, the group would awaken to the sounds of laughter and dancing outside, apparantly the village celebrating it's good luck with the "Church" showing to heal their wounds; a group of children sneak into the hut with trays of food to place down for them. Jean remains asleep snuggled against Zeal, while Rachael already seems to be awaken, checking her equipment
* Kaelan sits up, rubbing her head a little as she yawns a bit. "Wasn't a bad night..."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen stands by the door, peering outside quietly.
* Kaelan gets up, laying a hand on her sword. "Everything alright Valen?"
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael takes a piece of food and nibbling the fruit, making a smile. She glances at Kaelan. "Valen always likes to stand guard."
<Kogitsune> 6Zeal is awake, an early-riser, but hasn't moved, likely because of Jean, ironically.
<Kaelan> "Oh, well, very noble of him with all us girls in here." *she smiles and grabs some fruit, taking a bite*
<DeathStar> 6* Jean yawns and stretches a bit, rising up. She opens her eyes and looks around blankly, looking disoriented. She still seems to be scantily clad, her clothes more degraded now.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We'll need to get Jean something before we go back toward Navarro
<Xanatos> 6* Valen glances over his shoulder slightly and nods. 1She would gather attention if not.
* Kaelan looks over at her and frowns a bit. "You're right... maybe we could check with the villagers?"
<Xanatos> 6* Valen kneels to gather up the food into little pouches, eating some as he does so.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I'll go ask around. They like her enough, it shouldn't cost much. 6* She gets to her feet and exits the hut
<Kaelan> "Good thinking... want some help Valen?" *she moves over to the food*
<Xanatos> <Valen> It's okay, I'm almost finished. 6He assures Kaelan.
<DeathStar> <Jean> Almost finished!
* Kaelan nods a little and sits back, she looks over at Jean.
<Kaelan> "Good Morning Jean."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean yawns a bit more, stretching almost cat like. "Good morning, ... Kaelan!"
<Zeal> <Zeal> ..." 6She eyes Jean, wriggling her fingers, likely getting blood to them again
* Kaelan grins a bit. "Rest well? Was Zeal a good bed?"
<Xanatos> 6* Valen takes a pouch of the foods and leans over to hold it out towards Jean. 1Eat up.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean takes the food. "Thank you!" 6* She pauses, then looks toward Zeal for permission.
<Zeal> 6Zeal just nods to her, then narrows slightly at Kaelan, hrmphing.
* Kaelan smiles warmly at Zeal.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen also places a pouch of food by Zeal, then begins to store the rest.
<DeathStar> <Jean> Good morning, Zeal! Good morning, Valen!
<DeathStar> 6* Jean begins to eat the food, more focused on the fruit than the other items
<Xanatos> <Valen> Good Morning miss. 6He bows his head slightly, then rises to turn and look back out at the village, squinting slightly.
<DeathStar> 6* Valen would notice, at the village gates, four Templar Knights riding up on horse back. They demand to see the village elder, or leader, sitting there on their horses
<Zeal> <Zeal> ...Thank you... sir Lankin."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses and frowns. 1Templar are here.
* Kaelan sits back, she jerks and looks up. "Wh-What!?"
<Zeal> 6Zeal peers at the food, rummaging through it. When she thinks no one is paying attention she minds the fruit herself, but still nibbles among the others. She pauses at mention of templars.
<Xanatos> <Valen> I need to find Rachael, we should leave as soon as possible. 6He glances to them.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean innocently peers outside
* Kaelan gently pulls Jean back. "We need to keep hidden, Jean."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Jean, withdraw." 6She says sternly.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael hurriedly heads back for the hut, carrying grassland native clothing and a cloak. She doesn't meet the Templars gaze, and with her clothing, they pay her little mind as an older man approaches.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen seems tense as he watches Rachael. 1I won't look, please prepare for our departure. 6He tells the others.
<Kaelan> "We're going to have trouble the moment he starts thanking them for what Jean did."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael slips into the hut and holds out the clothing to Jean; it looks almost Native American in appearance, though the clothing is made from some deer monster. That runs into it's enemies like a retard
<DeathStar> 6* Jean stares at the clothing blankly, then at Rachael, then back. She begins to try to eat it, making a face
<Zeal> <Zeal> It will not work. I will ... have to buy time for your departure.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> But-- That's dangerous.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Do you think they have any implication of thinking you assisted us?
<Zeal> <Zeal> I will be fine. I need to return in order to help sir Fyro as is.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses at Jean and shows her to put it on.
* Kaelan frowns a little. "Zeal..."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean pauses, and Rachael shifts to undress her, then dress her, almost motherly.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lets out a breath and nods to Zeal. 1Good luck. I hope no harm comes to you.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean peers at Zeal, then grabs her arm, looking worried.
<Kaelan> "Should I come with you? I still need to get back without them knowing."
<Zeal> <Zeal> I would say to have faith in me, yet I believe it not appropriate.
<DeathStar> <Jean> No go.
* Zeal tilts her head slightly to peer at Jean.
<DeathStar> 6* Outside, the Templars get off their horses, peering about the village as they walk forward, the elderish man talking wildly
<Zeal> <Zeal> I must, lady Al'ryl.
<Kaelan> "...Whatever we're doing... it better happen now."
* Kaelan peers back in at Zeal.
<DeathStar> <Jean> ... don't want Jean to go. 6* She begs practically
<Xanatos> <Valen> There's a back exit to this hut. Come, follow me. 6He turns and moves for it, giving Zeal a pat on the shoulder as he goes by.
<Zeal> <Zeal> It will be the death of us both if I stay, lady Al'ryl. Be strong, your well-being will rely heavily upon your own will.
* Kaelan moves over to Jean, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Zeal... do I head back with them or what?"
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks depressed. Rachael finishes getting the cloak on her, then lifts Jean up as best she can, who stubbornly tries not to go with her
<Zeal> You have yet to be associated. Remain unseen or you will regret it.
* Kaelan nods and moves after them. "Alright... good luck Zeal."
<Zeal> 6Zeal peers after them, then takes a deep breath before shouldering her bow and gathering up her meager remainings, heading out the front with her usual air.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael draws Jean out the back; as they exit, they'd notice Karen amongst the Templars. She peers over at the two, but doesn't recognize Rachael or Jean.
<DeathStar> 6* Then when Zeal steps out, seems to get distracted, moving toward her. Rachael peers at Valen, hissing. "Where do we go now?"
* Kaelan moves over to join Rachael and Valen with Jean.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen glances left and then right. 1Out of the town first, then we'll decide from there.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Karen, you finally arrived..
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We'll never get out the front gate. 6* She peers along the back wall, where a small hut is close enough to the wall one could climb up it and jump over.
<DeathStar> <Karen> Lady Zeal, you are safe! We thought the Angel had you!
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers around, noticing the back wall he hmms and glances to Rachael. 1It might be like climbing a tree.
* Kaelan looks between the two.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Yes. We're lucky it's got enough gripping spots, or we'd never make it. 6* She makes note to the wall, which has none, compared to the hut
<Zeal> <Zeal> The angel? Whatever do you speak of? I sent you to gain aid in recovering my new friend's companion and no one came. I went alone and was nearly set upon by the wilds' beastly insects if not for their aid.
<Kaelan> "Let's get at it then."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen shifts to move towards it now, trying to keep from seeming suspicious.
<DeathStar> 6* The Templars exchange glances at each other, then at Zeal. One holds up a medalion and she'd instantly fall unconscious, another Templar grabbing her. <Templar> Comb the village now.
* Kaelan moves along after Valen.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael leads Jean along to the hut, climbing up a basket and then up onto the hut's grass/straw roof, which makes noises under her and Jean's weight
<Zeal> 6Zeal seems indignant, as it's true she nearly died going alone. A single glance is given to the trinket, not recognizing it, then drops like an anemic.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen kneels by it and offers out his hand to help Kaelan, deciding to go last.
* Kaelan takes his help, making her way up after the two carefully but quickly as she can.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael and Jean go over the wall, and Jean lands on her rear, making a noise of pain. Rachael gets to her feet and pulls the girl up.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen moves after, making sure to tread lightly on the straw roof.
* Kaelan flinches a bit and moves over the wall after them, checking on them both.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen slips over after and hangs by a hand to try and land quietly, but he stumbles a bit, holding out his arms to recover.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean peers toward the city, sadly almost, as if worried. One of the Templars can be heard speaking as they near the wall. "Make sure to find the woman that was with Templar Zeal. She'll join her father on the executioner's block."
* Kaelan blinks, eyes going wide, she looks at the three.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael moves over quickly to adjust Valen, then looks relieved when the guard moves on, kissing Valen on the lips. "That was close."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lets out a breath and nods to her. 1Yes but...6He glances to Kaelan slightly.
* Kaelan speaks quietly. "I'm already... linked... they have Dad..." *she's gone a bit pale*
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks lost at Kaelan, not getting what they're saying
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers at Jean, looking sorry for her.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Maybe...Dahok told them everything...after all?
<Kaelan> "I... let's talk about this when we're away."
* Kaelan grips her sword handle, looking around for where to go next.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Right. 6He nods to Kaelan at that and begins to move away from the city, right now just getting away, probably going to readjust their course after they've gathered some distance.
* Kaelan follows after Valen, her jaw set.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael takes Jean's hand, moving after Valen. Jean speaks again. <Jean> This my fault? 6* She asks worriedly.
<Kaelan> "No... Jean... it's not your fault. I cannot blame you. It's entirely my own."
<Xanatos> <Valen> You didn't do anything, no. Their fear of the unknown is driving this.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean peers down, as if mulling over that. She slides the hood over her head, quietly looking sad and depressed. Rachael says nothing until they've traveled almost 40 minutes from the village, then pauses, trying to get her bearings
* Kaelan lets out a sigh, "I have to do something. I have to get back to Navarro."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We all do. 6* She notes simply.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen kneels slightly as he peers around inspecting the ground slightly. 1Yes. I just hope we're...not too late.
* Kaelan shudders a little, not liking the sound of that, she draws her sword a little out of it's sheath, looking down at the cross hatched heron mark on it as though for comfort.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael looks about, then touches Valen's shoulder in warning as a deer monster charges them with large antlers.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers up and arches a brow. 1I- 6He jumps to his feet, grabbing Rachael to dive to the side.
* Kaelan grabs Jean, diving the other way.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael grunts as she lands under Valen, peering up at him like she's used to the position, but then quickly goes for her sword, peering as the deeretard runs by, skids to a stop, then turns
* Kaelan gets up, drawing her sword, guarding Jean's position. "Jean, get back."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen gets to his feet, helping her up, then peers towards the deer. 1This is a waste of time, we should only fight these creatures when we need food.
<Kaelan> "Tell that to the monster."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks at the monster curiously, then steps near it, like she thinks it's some sort of pet.
<Kaelan> "Jean! No!"
<DeathStar> 6* The deeretard and hooves the ground, getting ready to charge again
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses and pulls out some of the food, offering out some of the fruit.
<DeathStar> 6* The deeretard charges at Valen and looks as it might gut him, but either the fruit, or magic, it stops and begins to eat out of his hand like a domesticated animal. Jean touches it's head, then climbs it like they did with the horse.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael stands there, pale, like she thought Valen was about to die, then lets out a breath, grabbing him and yelling. "What were you thinking? These aren't like the animals back home!"
* Kaelan stares slowly, startig to put away her blade. "What... in the gods..."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen winces and frowns. 1I...thought it would work.
<Kaelan> "Jean... did you do something?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> And if you were wrong?! 6* She calms down a bit, then eyes Jean riding the deer. "Now she's doing it!"
* Kaelan slowly, carefully walks over to the deer.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks at Kaelan, confused.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen eyes the ground, scolded. 1...Sorry.
<Kaelan> "It's just... monsters are dangerous... and it's letting you ride it."
<DeathStar> <Jean> Rode other monster!
* Kaelan reaches out gently, looking at the beast carefully as she attempts to pet it. "That was a horse, it's domesticated."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael eyes it; ironically the beast is big enough they could all ride it if two people pressed together really close.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Everything is a monster until domesticated.
<DeathStar> 6* The deeretard snorts at Kaelan dangerously.
* Kaelan pulls her hand back gently.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen offers out a bit more of the food to the deertard and pats it. 1Perhaps it'll help up.
<Xanatos> NRP: us
<DeathStar> 6* It eats more of the food, munching noisely. Jean pets it's head happily like she did the horse. Rachael pauses, warily shifting to climb up onto it, then motions Valen on.
* Kaelan looks up at it where Rachael climbed. "How... do you get up there exactly?"
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael pauses, then looks at Valen. "Help her up, Val."
<DeathStar> *Vale
<Xanatos> 6* Valen nods and holds out his hands for Kaelan.
* Kaelan takes them, looking a little wary, she probably doesn't ride on horses often, if at all.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lifts her up, then attempts to pull himself up. 1It's a tough fit.
<DeathStar> 6* The deeretard eyes Kaelan, as if smelling her fear. Rachael peers back, then shifts in close to Jean, practically wrapping herself around the girl
* Kaelan closes her eyes, she eyes the deer back, getting her proud look, refusing to be afraid of the beast.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen steadies himself and then digs his heels in slightly to see if that'll get the deer moving.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael reaches around Jean, then directs the deer at the same time Valen does that. The deer bucks, then charges faster than a horse across the plains; Jean squeals at the wind hitting her face, blowing the cloak hood back and letting her hair whip around
* Kaelan eeps and holds onto whoever is in front of her, her face looking comical as she tries to look indignant.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen jerks to wrap an arm around Kaelan so she doesn't go flying off, the other holding onto a tuft of hair.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Just hold onto my chest. 6* She tells Kaelan. "It provides balance. Valen and I do it when we go very fast." 6* She notes.
* Kaelan nods and takes hold of Rachael's chest, she looks a little embarrased at all the contact, "V-Very well."
<DeathStar> 6* After a bit of pure riding, they'd pass what appears to be an active dig site taking place. Rachael slows them down a bit, unable to help her curiousity to peer at the diggers. Not much of the ruins can be seen from this angle, due to the fact they're digging into the ground, but the Digger Guild symbol on a sign is clear as day.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers over curiously. 1Interesting.
<Kaelan> "They seem to be everywhere... sometimes I wish I could get a better look at some of the metals they must find in all these digs."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean stares at it blankly, as if hypnotized.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I'd like to, too, but we'd have to steal a Digger License. It takes too many years to become one. 6* She sighs.,
<Kaelan> "S-Steal? But... but... I can't do that."
<Xanatos> <Valen> Maybe we can befriend a digger one day. 6He notes.
<DeathStar> <Jean> ... 6* She shakes her head, clearly wanting to check it out, but then peers in the direction of Navarro. "Kaelan's dad!" 6* She notes firmly.
* Kaelan blinks, she nods, looking ashamed. "Yes, we need to carry on."
<Xanatos> <Valen> R-Right. 6He seems a bit embarassed that he forgot and urges the deer on.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers down, ashamed, and the deeretard rushes along again. Some of the diggers peer at them, staring in shock at four people on the monster.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen's arm rests just below Kaelan's breast, apparently he's nice enough not to feel up on her.
* Kaelan seems glad of this.
* X1 has joined #taw
* X1 has quit IRC (Quit: Client Exited)
<DeathStar> 6* With the deeretard, they make excellent time compared to their previous trek, and soon Navarro appears before them, a little past mid-day.
<Xanatos> <Valen> We should walk from here. Riding our friend draws quite the attention.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael nods and hops off the deeretard. Jean climbs off, then pets it's face. "Thank you, Mr. Monster."
<Kaelan> "I wonder when we'll start hearing that The Angel is a tamer of ferocious beasts." *she weakly attempts humor as she climbs down*
<DeathStar> 6* The deeretard eyes Valen hungerily. Rachael shakes her head. "I think maybe Valen did it."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lets himself down and pats the deer once more, then takes out some more of the and sets it down on the ground, moving to walk towards the city now.
<Kaelan> "Doesn't mean the rumor won't start, but that is a pretty amazing skill."
<DeathStar> 6* The deeretard eats the food; Rachael moves after Valen, matching his pace to walk beside him, and Jean hurries along, pulling her cloak up.
* Kaelan adjusts gloves over her hands and moves after Valen.
<Xanatos> <Valen> They'll be looking for us. We need to try and find a crowd to blend in with upon entering.
<Kaelan> "If I'm identified, they'll be looking for me more then others, no doubt Lord Kalo will have given a full description to save face."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We'll need to keep an eye on Jean, then. 6* She notes.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Hmm. You'll need a cloak to cover your face. 6he nods in Agreement with Rachael's statement, peering at Jean slightly.
<Kaelan> "Agreed. I don't have one on hand myself."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean stares at the huge city walls in awe, clearly amazed as her eyes widen. As they approach the west city gate, they can see a platoon of soldiers, not Templars, on duty, though that would make little difference
<Kaelan> "That's not good."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen slows to a stop to consider. 1Rachael and I may not be identified yet, we could attempt to get in and find another way for you to enter.
<Kaelan> "Probably a good idea, we shouldn't risk them checking Jean either."
<DeathStar> 6* On the wall behind the soldiers are wanted posters, but they'd have to get closer to see who's faces are on them
* Kaelan frowns a bit. "If you can get a spare cloak, that'd be good too."
<Xanatos> <Valen> I lost mine in the fire. That's quite a bit of poster however...maybe we shouldn't risk it.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We can't turn back now, Valen. 6* She notes. "I noticed that the female Templar looked at me and didn't react to Jean or I. We might could make it."
<Kaelan> "I have to get in there somehow..."
<Xanatos> <Valen> We can give her Jean's cloak, and ensure Jean doesn't make eye contact, perhaps?
<DeathStar> <Rachael> That could work. Hm. 6* She takes a bit of Jean's cloak, tearing it, then covers JEan's eyes with them, as if she were blind, or had lost her eyes
* Kaelan frowns a little. "Jean will have to play the part well."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen nods. 1Excellent idea.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Jean, can you pretend that you cannot see, at least until we say otherwise?
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael tries to find something that could be used as a walking stick, while Jean pauses, feeling around the air blindly, looking panicked
<DeathStar> <Jean> Jean can't see. 6* She notes
* Kaelan gently takes her hand. "It's only for a little bit, promise."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen reaches out a hand to touch her shoulder. 1Okay. We're here to guide you, don't lose yourself.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael pulls off Jean's cloak, handing it to Kaelan. She looks at Valen, clearly worried that Kaelan's going to get them caught if it's anyone, since Jean's hair has been dyed at least.
* Kaelan ties her unruly hair back and then covers herself in the cloak, pulling up the hood.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Keep your face covered and don't act suspicious. 6He tells Kaelan.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses. 1Pretend you're old. We can say your eyes are sensitive to light if asked.
* Kaelan nods and pulls the hood down, she does her best to relax, then slums a little, hunching her back, she does her best to keep her young skin out of sight, already pretty thoroughly covered.
* Kaelan coughs a bit and then scratches out, "How's this...?" *with an old lady voice*
<Xanatos> 6* Valen hmms and peers to Rachael.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> ... 6* She looks worried still. Jean meanwhile continues to feel around blindly.
* X1 has joined #taw
<Kaelan> "Maybe I should just keep quiet?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We have to try. We'll never know if we don't. 6* She notes finally, shrugging to Valen worriedly.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Yes. Do that. 6He clears his throat slightly and lets out a breath then takes Jean's hand and begin to move towards the gate.
* Kaelan hobbles along after them.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean follows along, holding Valen's hand like a lifeline, while Rachael leads the way, clearly wanting a good look at the posters for them all; the soldiers eye the group appearing, peering over Rachael and then at Jean, noting her village attire, then her eyes.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen peers the soldiers over as he moves, counting their numbers and trying to determine how well equipped they are incase this turns ugly.
* Kaelan walks along quietly, keeping close behind Jean and Valen.
<DeathStar> 6* There appears to be a squad of six. One soldier raises a hand. "Business here?"
<DeathStar> 6* The posters show their faces: Kaelan's face is quite detailed, with Valen and the Angel's sketchy and not as accurate.
<Xanatos> <Valen> My family and I are passing through, if that is alright. We come to seek passage on a ship.
<DeathStar> 6* The soldiers eye Valen, then motion at Jean. "What's wrong with her?"
<DeathStar> <Jean> Can't see! 6* She whines pathetically
<Xanatos> <Valen> She lost her vision a while back, it has been traumatizing for us all.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> ... 6* He eyes his fellow guards, then steps toward Kaelan. "And her? Have her pull down the hood. We need to see if she's blonde."
<Xanatos> <Valen> Blonde? Are you searching for someone? Her hair is as white as the clouds.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> Yes. Hood down. 6* He orders Kaelan
* Kaelan remains still for a moment, letting Valen do the talking.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen tilts his head slightly. 1Mi Ma is very old and her eyes are sensitive. Can you not take my word as true?
<DeathStar> 6* The soldier eyes Valen, then Kaelan. "Speak woman. How old are you?"
* Kaelan squawks a little, her voice inher best impression of an old lady, "At least three times your age sonny, far too old for you I'm afraid."
<DeathStar> 6* The soldier stares at her, deadpanned.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen makes a face. 1Mi Ma mind your manners.
* Kaelan continues the impression, "Deary me, sorry hon. I'm sixty years old this year."
<DeathStar> <Soldier> ... 6* He begins to look less convinced the more she talks.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> And is your... "Mi Ma" your mother, or your grandmother? 6* He asks sarcastically to Valen.,
<Xanatos> 6* Valen puts a hand on Kaelan's shoulder. 1I apologize for her. She's sickly, it's part of why we're traveling, to find better climate.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Oh she's my great aunt. I'm afraid my family is no longer with us.
<Xanatos> <Valen> But Mi Ma here raised me.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> Hm. She must have been ugly in her day to raise children at...what would her age be? <Soldier 2> 40 by the looks of their age.
* Kaelan stays quiet, finding herself far less the convincing actress.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen frowns. 1Please sir, we just want to pass through.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> Hah. 6* He looks more amused. "You should stay the day and get your 'Mi Ma' a male whore. Clean out the dust. 40 and raising children. 6* He shakes his head in amusement, then eyes Jean, checking her out. "I might could let you through, for some time with this one." 6* He notes lewdly.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen shifts to an expression of anger. 1Please. Be decent. 6He steps over to take Jean's hand to pull her behind himself.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> Fine, fine. Country people. 6* He waves them on. "Not like anyone would marry a blind girl anyway. You should make use of her where you can."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lets out a breath and bows slightly. 1Thank you. 6He ushers Jean and Kaelan on as he moves, glancing slightly to Rachael.
* Kaelan moves along as directed, keeping up her act, and her anger inward.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean doesn't move, being blin. Rachael takes Jean's hand to lead her along. Jean whispers. "Why no one marry me?"
<Xanatos> 6* Valen moves after the three after bowing once again, he hurries along as if the soldiers frighten him.
<DeathStar> 6* Once through the gate, they'd enter a busy street of people coming and going from the city. Rachael lets out a breath. "They definitely know what your face looks like, Kaelan."
* Kaelan grumbles a little. "Kalo... but how did they know about my involvement? He can't have known..."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Did anyone see you leave with Valen, Lady Zeal, and Dahok?
<Xanatos> 6* Valen rubs his temple slowly, looking bothered. 1I hate this place. 6He murmurs.
<Kaelan> "Well... that Karen girl."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers about, and Jean whines again. "Can I see again?"
<Kaelan> "And the guard in the stable... and Kalo did meet us on the way to the city gates."
<Kaelan> "It's comforting that it might not have been Dahok."
<Xanatos> <Valen> In a moment. 6He looks around for a place off to the side.
<DeathStar> 6* There's many side streets and buildings. There's an inn near the city gate to get weary travelers, and a place to eat, and a couple of shops as well for buying goods
<DeathStar> 6* There appears to be a commotion of people discussing something further down the road, about an execution taking place soon.
* Kaelan stiffens a little. "S-Soon...?" *she peers at the others*
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses. 1It seems we won't have long, let's hurry. 6He reaches up to take the blindfold off of Jean.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean blinks her eyes, then relaxes happily. Rachael sighs, nodding.
* Kaelan nods, looking about slowly. "We have to get there in time."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen glances left and thenr ight, then begins to move in the direction people seemed to note.
<DeathStar> -SCENE SHIFT-
<DeathStar> 6* The axe comes down and removes Kaelan's father's head. The executioner turns into light - Lord Kalo. The church offical speaks. "Let it be known that not even nobles are safe from aiding the Angel. This good citizen has killed the defilers under his command, showing his innocence."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen makes a face, unable to look away, he keeps his hand out toward Kaelan, afraid she'll rush out and give away their position.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael looks away, while Jean looks horrorfied.
* Kaelan clenches her fist, her long time dislike turning into hate, her affront of Kalo's ways becoming raw anger, her hand grips the handle of her father's sword tightly.
<Xanatos> <Valen> We...need to get away, if he sees us...
<DeathStar> <Rachael> ... we should pull back for now. And find out what happened to Zeal. ... I can't believe she'd go along with all those things they said.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks at Kaelan, then hugs her. "I'm sorry." 6* She apologizes, looking shaky.
* Kaelan looks down, her face hidden, she breathes slowly, focusing the feelings for now. She pulls Jean close. "Jean... just remember... that he died. Just don't forget it, when you do all that you might do."
<Kaelan> "It's not your fault. You have nothing to be sorry for. Kalo will pay." *she speaks softly*
<Xanatos> 6* Valen turns and urges the two back, looking back.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks confused, then nods once.
* Kaelan follows the urgings and leads Jean back. "Just remember that Tam Di'neer was the first."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen glances to Rachael slightly.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael eyes Kaelan, then Jean, who looks more upset now. "Jean cause more people to die?" 6* She jerks, then runs off sadly, far quicker than she lets out, and seems to move into the crowd that's near them and toward a side street.
* Kaelan follows after her, cursing gently under her breath.
<DeathStar> 6* The crowd shifts a bit, blocking Kaelan's attempts. Some eye her, since Jean got their attention.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen makes a face. 1Damnit.
<DeathStar> <One Person> Doesn't she look a bit like...?
* Ariel has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
* Kaelan makes her way back and around away from them.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> What do we do now? 6* She looks at Valen in a complete loss.
<Xanatos> <Valen> ...I honestly have no idea.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael looks down, her face twisted in upset confusion. "We still need to get to that manor. And find out about Zeal with the Church. Learn about Dahok. And now...we have to find Jean."
* Kaelan looks back to them, "I'm sorry... I... we need to get after her, someone else needs to lead the way."
<Xanatos> <Valen> You should find a place for us to stay. I will search for Jean.
<DeathStar> 6* The people put Tam's head on a pike in the middle of the square as a reminder; his eyes opened in pained horror. Flies are already buzzing around him
<Kaelan> "How do we meet up?"
* Kaelan does her best not to look at it, looking slightly ill, she keeps the hood up over her.
<Xanatos> <Valen> When I find her, I'll bring her back to the inn.
<Kaelan> "What inn?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I should go with you. 6* She notes worriedly
* Ariel has joined #taw
<Xanatos> 6* Valen eyes Kaelan then glances to Rachael. 1If we leave her alone she may do something...6He doesn't finishes the sentence.
<Kaelan> "I can't get us a room, they'll recognize me anywhere it seems. And of course you need to go after her."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael pauses, peering down. "I don't feel safe if we're apart."
<Xanatos> 6* Valen shifts to take her by the shoulders. 1As a group we're more likely to draw attention. Get a room and then you and Kaelan should stay there till I return.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael nods obediently, peering down. "Okay."
<Kaelan> "I'll guard her as best as I am able, Valen."
<Xanatos> <Valen> I need you to be strong, for me. 6He kisses her lightly.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael nods, relaxing. She pats his cheek. "Stay safe." 6* She steps back, then heads back in the direction of the inn they saw coming in
* Kaelan looks down. "This is my fault... if I'd watched my mouth..." *she sighs and heads along with Rachael*
<Xanatos> 6* Valen shifts and moves to slowly move through the crowd, eyes peering left and right as he searches for Jean.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Indeed; making that poor girl think more people were going to die. I know.. losing your father is hard. I lost mine, too. But you need to think; she's like a child and will take you literally.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael sighs worriedly, peering up at the sky. "I wonder if the gods are looking down upon us now."
* Kaelan nods. "I... lost focus for a moment. I will be more careful in the future."
<Kaelan> "I don't know what to believe anymore... I just don't."
<DeathStar> 6* The camera shifts to focus on Valen, who moves down the street. There's no sign of of Jean, who ran at full speed. He'll probably have to try to outthink where an upset Angel would go
<Xanatos> 6* Valen tries to figure out where he even is as he glances around, probably searching for a place with animals.
<DeathStar> 6* In the distance, the large coloseium can be seen, and noises from it as the tournament continues. There seems to be a festive mood there.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen moves towards it, hoping that perhaps she'll be drawn by the atmosphere and the groups of people.
<DeathStar> 6* As Valen approaches, some men cut him off, eyeing him. "Where'd you get that sword?" 6* They point at the item he stole
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses. 1I found it in the field.
<DeathStar> <Man> Yeah? Then you wouldn't mind giving it to us. 6* One of the smaller men says, looking weaslely. The other two snicker
<Xanatos> <Valen> I'm sorry, does it belong to you?
<DeathStar> <Man 2> It belongs to a friend. He'd probably want it back - if he dropped it.
<Xanatos> <Valen> A...friend...6He pauses and frowns. 1I see. I'm...afraid I have bad news.
<DeathStar> <Man> Oh?
<Xanatos> <Valen> I found it at an abandoned camp...well abandoned may be the wrong word. There were scorpion beast corses about, as well as men's. This was on the ground, I thought maybe I could get a good price for it.
<Xanatos> NRP: corpses.
<DeathStar> <Man 2> I see. 6* They exchange glances, then step forward. "Here's a good price - we'll let you walk away if you give it to us."
<Xanatos> <Valen> So hasty for violence? Please, I understand, you had but ask. I'm sorry for your loss. 6He takes the sword and holds it out.
<DeathStar> 6* The first man moves over to take it
<DeathStar> 6* As he does so, there's a tremor from the coliseum. The men pause, turning to look at it.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen also pauses, tilting his head to peer.
<Xanatos> <Valen> What on Tareh?
<DeathStar> 6* People begin to scream and suddenly the large statue of Amazo, the god of war, can be seen --- rising above the coloseium top, peering about
<Xanatos> 6* Valen widens his eyes, taking a step back. 1Is that?
<DeathStar> 6* The three men exchange looks, then run off from the coloseium.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen squints as he peers up towards it, glancing around to see if it's looking for anything in particular.
<DeathStar> 6* The giant statue grips the sides of the building, crushing it a bit as it looks around for something; people rush out and it seems to be scanning the crowd
<Xanatos> 6* Valen glances around, also scanning the crowd to see if perhaps Jean is anywhere nearby, though he's making a concious decision to retreat back some, also keeping an eye out for cover.
<DeathStar> 6* Indeed, he'd notice a familiar black-haired girl standing there, looking confused at people running and a giant statue lumbering about. She's staring up at it, like she's not sure what she's seeing
<Xanatos> 6* Valen jerks and moves through the crowd towards her, gritting his teeth.
<DeathStar> 6* When Valen reaches her, Jean looks hysterical, especially when a piece of the coloseium falls off and crushes some people near her. "This...this is my...fault...Kaelan said her dad was first..."
<Xanatos> <Valen> Listen to me. You are not the blame here. These people, the church, THEY are. 6He grabs her by sholders to force her to look into his eyes. 1We have to get away from this place.
<DeathStar> 6* The statue reaches down and grabs a blonde girl near them and lifts her up, inspecting her and then tossing her aside
<DeathStar> 6* Jean peers at him, then nods, clearly in shock; the statue begins to move off, toward the pier, as if to prevent their escape by water.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen takes her hand and begins to move in the opposite direction, back towards the inn.
<DeathStar> -SCENE SHIFT-
<DeathStar> 6* As Rachael and Kaelan move down the road, they'd see a Church carriage riding in through the West Gates and down the road, with Templar Knights riding along it. She shifts to the side, peering at it. Inside, Karen holds out a piece of paper to Zeal. "This is the statement that Bishop Braddock wants you to memorize and swear by."
* Kaelan shifts to the side with Rachael, she peers over quietly.
<Zeal> 6Zeal stares at Karen incredulously. 1"Karen, do you mean to tell me that you were of Braddock's personage all along?"
<Zeal> 6Zeal rubs her forehead. 1"What ...was that medal."
<DeathStar> <Karen> He is our superior. 6* She looks confused at her words. "It is our duty to listen to our superiors."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers as they go by, seeing Karen and Zeal inside, as would Kaelan.
<Zeal> 6Zeal eyes Karen, looking perhaps a little disappointed in her dependency, then peers at the parchment.
<DeathStar> <Karen> It is one of the tools the gods gave us to deal with the Angel.
<Zeal> <Zeal> It was used on ...me.
<DeathStar> 6* The parchment reads that the Angel and her group kidnapped Zeal, forcing her to do things against her will and molesting her soul and body. It goes on to state that the Angel is a danger to all
* Kaelan frowns and looks down, unable to look now.
<DeathStar> <Karen> .... Yes. That means you were near the Angel. But this statement will clear you of any doubt and guilt.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael watches it go by, frowning. She peers at the inn, then at the carriage.
<Kaelan> "Wait till they go..." *she says quietly*
<Zeal> <Zeal> Doubt and... guilt? They would have me lie to save my own life?
<DeathStar> 6* Karen stares. "This is a statement of truth." 6* She says simply.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael watches the carriage move on out of sight, then looks at Kaelan. "Don't you wish to help...your friend?"
<Zeal> <Zeal> Even should I agree the angel is a danger, I was neither molested nor forced to do anything against my will. My will is my own, angels and gods alike be damned.
<Kaelan> "Do you think we could get her away from those templars right now? I... don't even know if what the church proclaimed was true."
<DeathStar> <Karen> ... Listen to yourself. She has already corrupted your mind, Lady Zeal. She's already bent your will to think she is harmless. Please - speak these words to the public.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> If she is taken all the way to the church, there will be more Templars. And we saw what happened to your father. If Lady Zeal doesn't speak otherwise, they will kill her.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael studies her
<Zeal> <Zeal> I choose to serve because that is my choice, nothing more or less. I will neither lie nor harm innocents on merit of appearance or rites passing judgment before due..." 6She frowns. 1"I am serious expected to read such fabrication to the mass?"
<Kaelan> "Alright then... now or never." *she eyes Rachael, then the cart*
<DeathStar> <Karen> You are expected to do your duty you are sworn by. If yo udo not, then your mind is clearly not your own anymore and you've been corrupted beyond redemption
<DeathStar> 6* Sadly, Kaelan made them wait, and the cart is no longer in sight. Rachael frowns, trying to think of how to catch up now
<Zeal> <Zeal> What of the fisherman?
* Kaelan looks around herself for an idea.
<DeathStar> <Karen> He... has been dealt with. 6* She notes carefully.
<Zeal> <Zeal> Speak plainly, girl!
<DeathStar> 6* Some people ride in on a horse, looking tired from a journey. Kaelan could steal it and have Rachael ride it
<DeathStar> <KAren> I do not know his fate, only that he was dealt with. If he agreed to denounce the Angel, then I am sure he is safe and sound
* Kaelan grimmaces, "These aren't my finest moments." *she nods to Rachael and heads towards the horse*
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael follows, letting Kaelan do the stealing.
<Zeal> <Zeal> No sooner had he laid eyes than the knights clubbed his head. Without his well-being assured, I will certainly not free my own conscience.
* Kaelan looks around them to see the situation, if they're getting off the horse, if there's a lot of people watching, etc, as she gets closer.
<DeathStar> <Karen> I'm afraid I cannot do more. You will need to make a statement now to the people in front of the church.
<DeathStar> 6* There's a lot of people on the street, and almost all of them will notice the moment Kaelan does anything. Thnakfully, the soldiers are further back. The rider seems to be staying on the horse as he eyes the inn, trying to make up his mind where to stay
* Kaelan walks up over to the side of the horse and the man and quickly tries to grab at his shirt and attempt to pull him off his horse.
<DeathStar> 6* The man lets out a startled cry as he's yanked off the horse; everyone on the street turns to stare now, and Rachael hurries forward and climbs the horse, reaching down to pull Kaelan up. "You couldn't have... pretended to be a stable hand from the inn?"
* Kaelan pulsl herself up with Rachael's help. "I'm not really good at this."
<Zeal> 6Zeal makes a face, leaning toward the windowside of the carriage looking ill.
<DeathStar> 6* The man climbs to his feet, pointing and crying out for the guards. Rachael urges the horse forward, streaking down the street on it as people chase after them. Their notority goes up.
<DeathStar> 6* The carriage stops outside the church; it's nowhere near as glorious as the palace, but seems to be done in great detail and decoration, rising up like a small fortress in similiar design to the palace. A crowd of people are there to hear Zeal's statement, and 10 Templars are standing by, with the two on horse that rode in with them. Karen opens the carriage door and steps out, waiting on Zeal
* Zeal reluctantly moves to step down, her arms crossed and a look of thought on her face, peering around at the crowd almost with pity.
<DeathStar> 6* Karen motions her in front of them. "Read the statement to them, Lady Zeal. For the good of the world."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael makes faces, having to slow a lot at the crowded streets and people moving back and forth. She barely can keep on the horse, her skills not talented enough to ride on through flawlessly, causing their trip to take longer
* Kaelan keeps herself steady as she can while Rachael drives, she narrows her eyes.
<Zeal> Very well." 6she heaves a sigh, then lifts the parchment, clearly reading from it word for word-- and only word for word, not in her own elegant speech whatsoever.
<DeathStar> 6* The crowd gasps at certain parts, then look outraged at others, clearly incited. By the time Zeal is done, Rachael and Kaelan ride into view. Rachael slows, eyeing her read to the crowd, her jaw dropped.
<Zeal> 6Zeal tears the parchment in two, scowling.
* Kaelan stares as well, she grips onto Rachael. "This can't be..."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> ... 6* She puts her fingers to her lip and whistles. Some in the crowd peer back, thinking Rachael is whistling in celebration of the reading, but her eyes are locked on Zeal, clearly asking the question with her face - "are you with us or do you wish to stay there?"
<Zeal> 6Zeal gestures toward the parchment, tearing it again in two, then scatters the pieces to the wind.
* Kaelan slightly shifts so her face isn't a billboard as to who they are.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael goes to ride forward when there's a rumbling from across the large city in the direction of the coloseium. She peers back, her eyes widening in horror as she sees the statue of Amazo the God of War stomping thorugh the city, carefully, and working it's way to the pier.
<DeathStar> 6* Overseer Braddock steps out, spreading his hands. "Look - the god of war is amongst us! The Angel is in the city! SEcure all the city gates. Allow no one to leave the city until we have her!" 6* The crowd, both terrorfied and awed, seem to rally to his words.
<DeathStar> <Braddock> Our glorious Bishop asks all citizens to do their duty for the world - find the Angel!
<DeathStar> 6* The Templars scramble now, clearly going to set up positions. For the moment, only Karen and Braddock are near Zeal, as everyone else is distracted.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> By---the gods it is moving. 6* She speaks
<Zeal> So our god now seeketh thy angel, nay hindered by the cost of thy own people." 6Her eyes slowly trail to the overseer, likely amongst their first meeting, if not the.
<Kaelan> "Rachael, get us to Zeal now, while the gods provide a distraction."
<DeathStar> <Braddock> Ah, 'Lady' Zeal. 6* He steps forward, a smile there. "I hope you've begun to see things our way." 6* Rachael urges the horse forward, trying to get near enough that Zeal can extend a hand and Kaelan can grab it
* Kaelan readies herself to pull Zeal up as they near.
* Zeal curtsies pollitely, but her face is tired. 1"Forgive me, Overseer. Until such a time that thy gods stave their games and care for their own people. You will excuse me..." 6She holds out her hand, bowing her head.
* Kaelan grabs the hand as they pass, pulling her up.
<Zeal> I should think that my mind would be at ease, devoid a little longer by the girl that heals the sick and knows nothing of thy ruthless ways.
<DeathStar> <Braddock> ... 6* He watches her ride on with the team as heroic music plays from a bard. Karen looks in shock
<DeathStar> 6* As Kaelan tries to pull Zeal up, she only gets her half-way, and begins to topple herself
* Kaelan holds onto the horse, "Help pull... with that armor..."
<Zeal> If you drop me, I fear my theatrics are at a miss.
<DeathStar> <Rchael> Hold onto me and pull! 6* She orders Kaelan.
<DeathStar> 6* As Kaelan holds the horse, they both begin to slide off
* Kaelan strains, wrapping an arm around Rachael and pulling Zeal up. Putting those smith muscles to work.
* Zeal strives with her other hand to help pull herself up once she's high enough
<DeathStar> 6* The two get on steadyily and Rachael rides back in the direction of the Inn. Rachael seems to be thinking. "The city gates will be blocked. We won't be getting out during the day."
<Kaelan> "We need to meet up with Valen and Jean at any rate."
<Zeal> <Zeal> Perhaps we could use the church's ways.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> Valen and I can't leave until we...finish something. 6* She notes. The god of war stops at the pier, scanning the city for them
<Zeal> Might I ask, praytell, what might be so important?
<DeathStar> 6* As Rachael rides them along, she spots Valen pulling a traumatized Jean along. She stops the horse and gets off of it. "VAlen! W e can't go near that particular inn. ... Kaelan stole this horse in front of everyone and the Templars are covering the exits
<Xanatos> 6* Valen pauses as he peers over and frowns. 1I...see. 6he glances around. 1We'll need to find somewhere else.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> That Inn we were in last time should be fine; it is low key. 6* She seems to be referring to the one with the rat.
* Kaelan just hugs onto Zeal, oddly clingy now.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean looks upset, peering around at htem all. "I-I should turn myself in. People are dying. Kaelan said her dad was only the first..." 6* She looks miserible.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Yes, and it's cheap. 6He nods, turning to lead them towards that particular inn.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael moves to follow, leaving the horse there, even if Kaelan is still on it
<Xanatos> <Valen> That's enough. 6He tells Jean sternly.
* Kaelan gets off and follows them.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean quiets down obediently.
<Kaelan> "Jean, it wasn't your fault, and it's not what I meant... I'll explain later, but please, stop worrying that you are at fault."
<Xanatos> <Valen> We should all be silent while we're out in public for now. 6He says, glancing back towards Kaelan.
* Zeal eyes them and frowns. 1"... Agreed, however I will ask what was said soon enough."
<DeathStar> 6* Due to the chaos of a giant moving statue, and other things, the group is paid little attention when it reaches the inn by late evening. Rachael secures them all one room, and once inside in it, peers at Zeal. "Did we learn what happened to Dahok?"
<Xanatos> 6* Valen keeps near the window, peering out at the chaos.
<Zeal> I could not learn more than he was 'dealt with.'
<DeathStar> <Rachael> How...does the church deal with people? 6* She asks, naively hopeful there's some prison
<Xanatos> <Valen> He's likely dead.
* Zeal sits against a wall, holding her knees. 1"Depends on... what was said."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean is quiet, peering down at the ground.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael looks down when Valen says that, looking a bit sad. "He was a nice guy. He didn't deserve that fate."
* Kaelan hugs her legs. "You saw how the church dealt with an innocent man today."
<Xanatos> <Valen> The only other option is that he turned on us. In which case, it would mean he is alive at least.
<DeathStar> <Jean> Maybe..Jean can touch Kaelan's dad and he will get better? 6* She says in reference to their wounds, which are doing better again in her presence.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean peers up, hopeful
<Zeal> He is dead, lady Al'ryl.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen turns to peer at them, he rubs the back of his neck, peering towards the ground.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> ... 6* She gives Jean a sympathic look, peering at Valen, then Zeal. "Is there a safe way to find out if Dahok is alive or not? Someone in the church you trust enough to ask?"
<DeathStar> 6* Jean peers down, wiping at her eyes after Zeal says this. She wobbles a bit, looking a bit unsteady now. Like she's cracking up.
<Zeal> Forgive me, but I am from an entirely different continent. As I have learned from the girl, it may have been Overseer Braddock's wishes alone that allowed me this far from home so easily.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I wish we could easily break into the church and find out, but that ... will not be likely, will it?
<Xanatos> 6* Valen steps over and puts an arm around Jean, rubbing her arm to try and comfort her.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean pauses, as if she was on the verge of snapping, then looks at Valen, getting her normal look, though it's still sad.
<Zeal> Likely impossible. I myself should not hope to stray close to the Overseer's residence.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lets out a breath and peers ahead. 1If...he is alive. They may use him as bait, knowing that he was a part of our group.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael jerks. "T-They would?" 6* She sounds horrorfied.
<Kaelan> "We'll know soon enough then."
<Kaelan> "They used my father and he didn't even come near Jean. What do you think they'd do to Dahok?"
<Zeal> Worse than an execution. Perhaps, confession.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael shakes her head in dismay. "No one was this cruel back home. I should have never..." 6* She trails off.
<Xanatos> <Valen> Rachael. 6He says quickly.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers up, then sighs. "Sorry, Vale."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael hugs her legs. "I guess I still have a lot of growing up to do."
<Xanatos> <Valen> No one ever stops growing. 6he says softly.
<Zeal> One grows their entire lives, not just in size.
* Zeal pauses, peering at Valen
<DeathStar> 6* Jean is quiet, then she crawls over and lays across Zeal's lap, closing her eyes as if wanting to sleep. Rachael speaks up. "Valen, if we're going to do what we came to do, we should likely do it tonight while everyone is worked up over this entire business."
<Zeal> Are you thieves?
<Xanatos> 6* Valen lets out a slight chuckle, then exhales slowly. 1Tonight it is. 6He nods.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael looks determined again. She peers at Zeal, then shakes her head.
<Kaelan> "It would be somewhat heartening if you told us what it was."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I--- 6* She looks at Valen, unsure if she should say.
<Kaelan> "Considering we now all sort of share this inescapable fate."
* Zeal pauses, eyeing Jean, apprehensive, but then settles a hand on her head, stroking her hair.
<Xanatos> <Valen> It's personal, I'm sorry.
* Kaelan takes a breath. "We've trusted you this far... so alright."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean relaxes at the stroking, looking like she feels more content and safe again. Rachael gives the group an apologetic look. <Rachael> We're... just looking for information. We won't be taking anything of value."
<Kaelan> "I can't judge that... I stole a horse today."
<Zeal> My life is already in your hands. I am in no position to barter for your secrets.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> We should all probably eat and get a few hours rest until nightfall. 6* She notes practically.
<Xanatos> 6* Valen bows his head slightly. 1Thank you. 6He tells the two.
* Zeal closes her eyes. 1"Though I should think that if anyone would listen, it would be those who die with you."
<Xanatos> <Valen> No one else will die if I can help it.
<DeathStar> -TO BE CONTINUED-
