<DeathStar> 6* It is closing on afternoon on the day after the death of the King, and so far the group's movements have been restricted still. Whenever they peer out the window, though, they will see that the castle is still up in arms about the death of the king, with the hunt for the elven attacker continuing.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers out the window with a grim look, her ears covered by her hair which isn't styled like normal, and she seems to be in her native garments still as she looks out at the commotion.
* Kaelan looks out, frowning a little, she looks at Rachael's clothing. "Maybe... you want to put on something a bit less conspicuous right now Rach?"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Things still all tense out there?
<DeathStar> 6* Jean moves about in a dress, her long hair in a ponytail as she chases the bearoar around the room. Rachael ignores Kaelan, it seems, as she keeps looking out the window.
<Zeal> Anything we have is conspicuous. To them we are mercenaries.
<Kaelan> "I suppose, and yes, it's tense."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael sighs, crossing her arms, and she looks like a caged bird.
<Kaelan> "Shouldn't be too much longer Rachael."
<Zeal> You never seem to like staying in cities too long, hm.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok rests his hands behind his head, back in his normal clothing. 1"This'll probably make it harder to get into the library.
<DeathStar> 6* Soma tries to scramble up and out the window
<Kaelan> "For now, yes, we have to wait for Arcane's help." *she reaches out to try and grab Soma*
<Zeal> We may need to give up on that altogether unless something turns to our favor.
<DeathStar> <Rachael> I prefer being outside. 6* She notes, watching the dark snowy clouds
* Zeal makes a face as Kaelan gropes about her for the escaping tigoar kitten
<DeathStar> 6* There's a knock, and the door opens and Mercy steps in with a tray of hot tea and sandwiches. She sets it down on the table.
* Kaelan kidnaps the tigoar to her chest since Zeal just makes faces instead of reacting.
<Zeal> Ah, hello, lady Mercy." 6She walks over to her as she enters.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Giving up on that would be a poor decision considering Thomas said we should go there for more information on the Angel and prophecies.
<Zeal> Mm, yes. Looking for alternate courses of action when faced with certain hanging is always a poor decision.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok peers back and gives Mercy a smile. 1"Well hey there, Mercy."
* Kaelan pets Soma gently as she looks over at Mercy. "Are we forgetting that Arcane gave us a promise?"
<DeathStar> 6* Mercy bows to Zeal. "Lady Zeal; Lady Jean; Lady Rachael; Lady Kaelan; Sir Dahok. The Prince will be joining you for dinner tonight."
* Kaelan smiles and nods. "Let him know we're honored and eagerly awaiting."
<Zeal> He said in the future. He has his own neck to watch, need I remind you.
<DeathStar> <Mercy> I was told to deliver you a message from Sir Kyle. 6* She pulls out a sealed piece of paper and holds it out to Zeal
* Zeal blinks once, then nods, taking it. 1"Thank you, lady Mercy."
<DeathStar> 6* Mercy bows again, then moves to leave
* Kaelan sighs, "We have no reason to start planning midnight climbing when we don't know the situation entirely. We'll talk to Arcane at dinner."
* Zeal peers at the scroll, then reaches into her belongings to find a letter opening to break the seal.
<DeathStar> 6* RAchael looks away from the window finally to watch Zeal with the letter, while Jean tackles Baby in an unladylike fashion
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok moves over to grab a tea, sniffing it and making a face. He grabs a sandwich and starts eating it. He then grabs another and whistles at Baby
* Zeal unrolls it once finished, going quiet to read
* Kaelan grabs two sandwiches and walks over to Jean and Baby, taking a seat next to them and holding them out to each.
<DeathStar> 6* The bearoar knocks Jean aside, making her wince, and rushes at Dahok for food.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok points a finger at Baby. 1"Hey, say you're sorry to Jean for knocking her aside like that."
* Kaelan shrugs and helps Jean up. "You okay?"
<DeathStar> 6* The bearoar turns back and eats both of Kaelan's sandwiches instead
<Kaelan> "Clever boy."
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> You shouldn't have let him eat that.
<Kaelan> "I don't think I neccesarily let him."
<DeathStar> 6* Jean nods, dusting the dress off. The bearoar covers it's eyes
<Zeal> Hm, this just affirmed my previous thoughts. We cannot go to the archive as is.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok moves over and holds out Baby's sandwich to Jean. 1"Here ya go."
* Kaelan fixes Jean's dress a little and nods. "Well let's not worry about it then." *she reaches over and grabs another sandwich herself*
<Zeal> Not worry about it?
<Kaelan> "For now."
* Zeal holds up the scroll, deadpannedly. 1"Whether it be on account of the incident or their own previous accordance, officials of the main church have arrived, toting our exploits likely."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael sucks in her breath and lets it out sharply
<DeathStar> <Jean> Jean not hungry. Thank you, though.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Sounds like we should leave the city as soon as we can then.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok nods and starts eating it
<Kaelan> "All the more reason to not worry about it."
* Kaelan takes a bite of her sandwich.
<Zeal> I agree with sir Fyro's new poor decision, Kael.
<Kaelan> "Me too."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok looks over at Zeal. 1"Really? Why is everything out of you always so mean."
<Kaelan> "I was referring to the library."
<Kaelan> "She's nice to girls. Mostly." *takes another bite*
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers back out the window quietly as they talk
* Zeal eyes Dahok. 1"I never have known a man so sensitive to his feelings. Much less one so pursuant to women without their clothes."
<Kaelan> "Really?"
<Zeal> Perhaps I can speak to lady Mercy on your behalf. No need to worry, I will not order her to do anything, of course.
* Zeal gestures. 1"Would that be more 'nice?'"
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Ya know what, you guys decide what ya want to do. I'll be in my room. 6He reaches down and pats Baby and moves off to leave
* Kaelan sighs and finishes her sandwich.
<DeathStar> 6* Jean is silent, peering at the floor
<Kaelan> "I say we wait till dinner, if we're leaving, Arcane can help us get out quietly."
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok steps out side and moves to his room.
<Zeal> Will you still be hungry? You are eating my breakfast." 6She notes.
<Kaelan> "You were going to eat all of these yourself?"
<Zeal> There were two for each of us-- as sir Fyro pointed out, Baby ate yours.
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok steps into his room then
<Kaelan> "And this is my second."
* Kaelan finishes the sandwich.
* Zeal shakes her head and moves to glance out the window herself. 1"Lady Rachael, do you have a better idea of the coming weather than i?
<DeathStar> <Rachael> In a place where it only snows, no. But I don't intend to leave tonight.
<Zeal> This is true. I was hoping to grasp the next few days if only roughly. It never hurts to be prepared..
* Kaelan sighs and gets up. "We should prepare for snow, no matter what, prepare for the worst weather and you won't get surprised."
<Zeal> Snow does not bother me, actually.
* Zeal frowns in thought. 1"Sleet on the other hand. A close to freezing rain would be much worse in a barren snowfield."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael takes the note written by Kyle and reads it over silently as she sits on the window ledge.
<Kaelan> "Snow seemed to bother us on the way here enough, but yes, I agree we should prepare for those too."
<Zeal> Snow is merely cold. Should it rain, we would all become wet and the threat of freezing to death, especially in winds, is much higher and much faster.
<DeathStar> 6* Soma, meanwhile, having escaped Kaelan while she was doing the sandwhiches, sits on the plate of sandwhiches and eats on pieces of them all
<Zeal> ... S-Soma." 6She facepalms, sighing.
* Kaelan sighs a bit and picks up the kitten. "Sneaky little thing, had your fill yet?"
<DeathStar> 6* The tigoar hisses at Kaelan
* Kaelan pets him and feeds him a bit of sandwich. "Hey, behave."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> It says it wouldn't be wise for us to go to the church in a group. One or two of us might could still get in with Prince Arcane's help.
<DeathStar> 6* The tigoar nibbles on the sandwich
<Kaelan> "Zeal should be one, she's good with reading."
<Zeal> I am also the most known to the church.
<Kaelan> "True... and I've got the second best known face thanks to Kalo."
<Zeal> Perhaps...
* Zeal peers toward Rachael. 1"I really do not lavish the thought of you going off alone.."
<Kaelan> "We have Dahok too."
<DeathStar> <Rachael> You can send Dahok alone. 6* She notes, peering out the window again
<Zeal> Trouble follows him, lest he make his own..
<Kaelan> "I've... changed a bit. I might be able to go with Dahok if Zeal is really unsure."
<Zeal> Knowing sir Fyro he would stick his nose into other subjects, such as the guild affairs trying to find another digging site.
<Kaelan> "Why are you so hard on him Zeal?"
<Zeal> Why are you so lenient? Need I remind you what became of your last time alone with him whilst we meddled in church affairs?
<Zeal> It is fine to forgive, but unwise to forget for the sake of forgiveness and retrace the same steps.
<Kaelan> "You don't need to remind me, but you're just plain mean to him all the time."

* Kaelan pets over Soma and feeds him some more sandwich bits.
<DeathStar> 6* The tigoar eats happily, looking king of the world
<Zeal> Yes. I am merely mean to him.

* Zeal crosses her arms and shakes her head, moving back toward her room.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael tunes the two out as she watches the guards below do more patrols
* Kaelan sighs a bit and arches her brow.
<Kaelan> "Sarcasm doesn't answer the question..."
* Zeal closes her door
* Kaelan rubs her forehead a little. "This is giving me a headache. Damnit."
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael shifts to move to her own room and closes the door, leaving Kaelan alone with the bearoar and Soma
* Kaelan frowns a bit and sits next to Baby with Soma, petting both as she tries to think.
<DeathStar> -TIME JUMP-
<DeathStar> 6* Mercy knocks on each door to let them know dinner is ready. By now the light has set and the glittering is out
* Zeal emerges in an evening gown, with her hair up, decorated with the ornament she keeps.
* Kaelan sits in the main area with Soma, she looks up as people come out.
<DeathStar> 6* Mercy moves back to head downstairs.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael steps out in her own dress, and moves to head for the stairs, looking lost in thought
<Chad`Winters> 6Dahok steps out, wearing a set of his regular washed clothing.
* Kaelan gets up, looking at the all, she frowns and looks towards Jean's door.
<Zeal> Lady Rachael...
<DeathStar> 6* Jean's door is open
* Zeal moves along beside her. 1"There is always the possibility this is a trap."
* Kaelan moves over and peers inside.
<DeathStar> 6* Rachael peers at Zeal blankly. "Trap?"
<DeathStar> 6* Empty.
<Kaelan> "Huh..."
* Kaelan looks at the others. "Jean wasn't with any of you, was she?"
<Zeal> I cannot say for certainty the prince is truly reliable-- at least to us of all people. Now that we have done what he wants and the church officials are here.. he could further cover his actions by turning us over at this dinner.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> She was with you guys when I left. 6He rests his hands behind the back of his head
<DeathStar> <Rachael> What---are you suggesting we do, then?
* Kaelan sighs and hurries downstairs to looks for Jean. "Great... how did I not notice."
<Zeal> There is little we can given our current situation. Just... do not let your guard down.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Ask Rachael and Zeal if they saw her.
<DeathStar> 6* RAchael peers at Kaelan rushing by
* Kaelan pauses and looks at the two. "Rach, Zeal?"
<Kaelan> "Have you seen Jean?"
<DeathStar> <Rachael> No.
* Kaelan looks at Zeal.
<Zeal> ... She is gone. Again.
* Zeal facepalms.
* Kaelan grumbles and rushes down the stairs. "I'll look this way..."
<Zeal> We could hope she went ahead to the dinner.
<Chad`Winters> <Dahok> Where's Soma and Baby?"
<Kaelan> "I've got Soma."
* Kaelan still has her in the comfort of her chest.
