<DeathStar> 6* The guards, tied up, eye them defiantly, while the group. Azhren and Thomas, grave injured, have lost a lot of blood and are no longer completely combat worthy, though on their side is now 12 Nuege soldiers and 5 prisoners
<DeathStar> 6* Oh, and Kaelan
<DeathStar> 6* Seth remains missing, and the Warden and his guards have secured the lower levels - so far the group only knows about one staircase leading down, unless they can get info out of the guards
* Kaelan peers over the guards, she works the belt and scabbard off one of the fallen guards and then onto her hips for later use. "Like I said... for their own good." *she eyes the guards, her look is slightly emploring*
<DeathStar> <Guards> ... 6* The three remaining guards say nothing
<Kaelan> "Look, we want to end this quickly, the faster we can, the less of your mates have to die. We can release you after we've secured our own freedom, you can go see your families again. All you need to do is tell us of any other ways we can go."
<DeathStar> <Thomas> Are there any other ways down? 6* One guard spits on the ground in front of Kaelan and Thomas
* Kaelan sighs, "You can deal with me, or I can leave you to the gentlemen who just started taking your heads, it's up to you, do you really think defiance is going to help you now?"
<DeathStar> <Guard 2> Go to hell, bitch
<Kaelan> "I... don't know if you've looked around lately, but we're already in hell."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas holds his chest, breathing in deeply
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Wonderful interrogation...
* Kaelan eyes Azhren, "You could help, oh crusher of men's skulls."
<DeathStar> 6* The five prisoners study them like hawks, clearly looking for weaknesses
* Kaelan idly flicks the sword about where it won't cut anyone, her movements are deft and sure, trained with her weapon. "Tell us if there are any other ways down."
<DeathStar> <Guard 1> We will tell you nothing.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> If you will tell us nothing, you have nothing to offer us.
<DeathStar> <Guard 1> Then kill us. We'll die before helping scum like you escape this prison
<Ametsune> <Azhren> You heard him, woman. Start with that one.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas glances at Kaelan, as does the other prisoners
* Kaelan raises her sword up, deftly, she swings it down hard, stopping just short of the man's neck, grazing the skin. "One more chance, I won't hold back next time."
<DeathStar> 6* The man jerks, closing his eyes as he prepares, then opens his eyes, sweating and breathing heavily. "N-never."
<Kaelan> "Really? A pity. I'd think any good man would want to live to see their family again." *she slowly raises the sword again*
<Kaelan> "Anyone else? You want to see your fellow die?"
<DeathStar> 6* The three guards say nothing, though they're clearly terrified, even the guard talking smack.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ..." 6He sighs, turning away.
<Kaelan> "May you find your way back to the makers then." *she says as though in a soft prayer, readying to swing down at the man again*
<DeathStar> 6* The man closes his eyes, mumbling softly under his breath a church prayer to protect his family
<Ametsune> 6Azhren turns to take the blade from Kaelan impatiently and shifts to cleave the man himself, not looking very hesitant.
* Kaelan blinks, eying Azhren now. She seems disgusted for a moment.
<DeathStar> 6* The man screams only briefly before the sword sinks into him and cuts through his body, making a sickening sound as blood pours out. The guard falls over, his face twisted in pain and horror, while the other two guards stare in shock, looking at Kaelan just as accussingly as Azhren
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Who's next?" 6He peers at the next two.
* Kaelan continues to eye Azhren a moment, before eyeing the other two. "You can still save yourselves, just tell us what we need to know."
<DeathStar> <Guard 2> D-Devils... 6* He mumbles, shaking. He looks to be fairly young, alike the second guard still alive who appears older
<DeathStar> <Thomas> ... 6* He looks away, saying nothing, though it looks like he feels dirty just being near them
* Kaelan turns away so the guards can't see her own look, she moves over to Thomas, she whispers into his ear.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas just eyes her, then looks away, saying nothing more.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> As much as I'd prefer you think I'm just a devil, I can't be. If you have nothing to say, I'll end your life here. Unless you're saying you'd prefer the hospitality of the prisoners.
<DeathStar> 6* The prisoners, for their part, laugh and grab at the guard's face, shaking it. "I think they pissed his pants."
<DeathStar> <Guard 3> We will die before allowing murderers like you to escape.
<DeathStar> <Guard 2> I--I-- d-don't w-w-want... to..
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Yes, that's a fact." 6He turns and thrusts the sword to the third's neck.
* Kaelan looks down, she clenches her fist a moment and turns to look back. She grits her teeth, she moves over to the guards, grabbing the younger one. "THEN TELL US NOW!"
<DeathStar> 6* The guard jerks as she yells, and freezes in terror, not moving now
* Kaelan moves in the way, pushing at Azhren's arm to push the sword out of the way.
<Kaelan> "Not yet. You're killing too easily!" *she eyes him, her good eye smoldering with anger*
<DeathStar> 6* The second guard continues to look frozen in fear, his mouth not even moving now as he stares at Kaelan in stark terror. The prisoners laugh at his reaction, slapping at his chubby cheeks
<Ametsune> <Azhren> I'm a soldier. You're a fool." 6He stares at her unamused.
<Kaelan> "Yes, you're a soldier, remember that." *she continues to glare*
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Thomas, I would suggest removing this woman.
<Ametsune> 6Azhren looks over. 1"You two share the same stomach for this sort of reality."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas looks at Azhren; his face is neutral now, revealing nothing. "Are you two going to stop talking to each other, or start talking to the guards? Quit terrifying the second one and get him to talk before you lose whatever hold you have on him."
* Kaelan looks at the guard. "Tell us. Please for the love of whatever family you have, tell us."
<DeathStar> 6* The second guard seems too terrified with the prisoners playing with his cheeks to talk now, even with Kaelan in front of him they apparantly don't find her a viable threat to stop them
* Kaelan eyes the prisoners. "Get away from him."
<DeathStar> 6* They look at Kaelan, then ignore her, smacking at the second guard. "Answer their questions, or we get to play with you. Come on, chubby."
* Kaelan eyes Azhren. "You've taken my sword, either do something or hand it back over."
<DeathStar> 6* One prisoner runs his sword along the guard's stomach, making him whimper in stark terror. "Not going to talk? Alright, then..." 6* He prepares to gut him
<Kaelan> "No!" *she grabs at his arm* "We need him to talk. Don't waste the last one we have."
<DeathStar> 6* There's two guards
<Kaelan> *ones
<DeathStar> 6* The prisoner eyes Kaelan. "He isn't talking. We get to kill him."
<DeathStar> 6* The second guard begins to actually blubber and cry now, looking more terrorfied
<Kaelan> "He's the most intimidated, he'll talk first." *she grabs the sword out of Azhren's hand since he's too busy staring*
<DeathStar> 6* The prisoner eyes her get a weapon, but backs up
* Kaelan kneels down in front of the man. "Alright, you want to live, right?"
<DeathStar> 6* The man just keeps blubbering
<Kaelan> "Tell me your name soldier."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas peers out, listening to the sounds of the prisoners getting rowdy, their echos moving about the hallway
<DeathStar> <Guard> I-I--I'm... F-F-Fre--drick
<Kaelan> "Fredrick. I know you want to get out of here. You need to decide right now, what's more important, your life and seeing your loved ones again, or stopping us from escaping. We've spared you thus far."
<DeathStar> 6* Fredrick shakes in terror, eyeing her like she were a demon. "I--w-what---d-do you want?"
<Kaelan> "All I want to know is if there's another way down besides the main stairs, and where I can find it. We only want to get out of here, not spill more blood. You can save yourself and your friend here, all you need to do is tell me this."
<DeathStar> <Guard 3> Fredrick, don't you dare tell them anything!!! 6* Fredrick flinches, looking like he might listen
* Kaelan reaches out and hits the man across the face with the butt of her sword.
<Kaelan> * The third guard.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> And why shouldn't he?" 6He stares at Kaelan cocks him
<DeathStar> 6* The guard's head snaps to the side, and Fredrick flinches at the action, trembling more again
<DeathStar> <Guard 3> They'll kill us as soon as they're done with us, Fredrick! Don't give them anything! 6* He says, spitting blood in Kaelan's face
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas makes a face and steps over, shoving some cloth into the third guard's mouth
* Kaelan leans in close, "I told you what you had to decide. I swear on whatever honor my name has left, what honor I hope to regain, that I won't let you be killed if you help us."
<DeathStar> 6* The soldiers with them move into the hallways to make sure no one is escaping up, and try to meet up with other nuege soldiers, leaving 8 with them
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Are you daft, old man? You'll die if you don't.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Use your rotting head. If you can't tell us. Show us.
<DeathStar> <Fredrick> I---I--- 6* His clothes smell of urine from pissing himself earlier. "There's... stairs in the messhall kitchen---so the .. cooks can get to supplies easier---than having to walk all the way past the cells.
* Kaelan nods and pats the man's head. "Can you walk? Leaving you here won't be good for keeping my promise. We can't let you have any weapons, but we'll let you get lost among the other soldiers."
<DeathStar> <Fredrick> I-I don't w-want to g-go with you
<Kaelan> "I can lock you in this cell if you want, you two should be safe long enough."
<DeathStar> 6* They're not in a cell
<Kaelan> "In a cell, that is."
<DeathStar> <Fredrick> J-Just l-leave. 6* He eyes the prisoners in even more fear
* Kaelan eyes the prisoners. "You're coming with us."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> How old are you?
<DeathStar> <Thomas> ... 6* He leans over, in pain, and unties Fredrick's wrists, then shifts to use a Nuege soldier's help to go back to the hallway. The prisoners eye the guards, then Kaelan.
<DeathStar> <Fredrick> ... 6* He eyes Azhren and says nothing, his face getting paler
<Ametsune> <Azhren> You haven't lived long enough, obviously.
* Kaelan keeps her eyes on them, she holds her sword ready. "Fredrick, I recommend you go now. Take your friend with you."
<DeathStar> <Fredick> I-I don't want to leave this room. 6* He mumbles in fear, eyeing the hallway in stark terror. He looks ready to scream in mad terror the more they keep talking to him
<DeathStar> 6* The prisoners size them up, and move out of the guard room
* Kaelan sighs and gets up. "Alright, let's get moving, to the kitchens."
<DeathStar> 6* The Nuege soldiers shift to step out into the hallway, peering about, then head for the mess hall
<Ametsune> 6Azhren simply nods and moves out, eyeing the prisoners to keep with.
<DeathStar> 6* Fredrick, once they are gone, scrambles and closes the wooden door to the guard room and furniture can be heard shoving against it
* Kaelan moves with the soldiers, sheathing her blade for the moment.
* Kaelan eyes Azhren as they go, her good eye twitching a little.
<DeathStar> 6* As they enter the mess hall, they'd find 35 prisoners in it, having taken up positions all over it. One big man eyes them enter, with two prisoners standing guard at the mess hall entrance, holding weapons made of various materials found. The big man, black of course, speaks. "Halt!"
<DeathStar> 6* The soldiers pause, eyeing them all, and Thomas makes a face. "Perhaps we should try another level's kitchen..."
* Kaelan stops, eyeing them. "Perhaps, we could tell these men the way down too, we have to take the lower floors anyway."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> You have taken up arms and positions-- to what ends?" 6He asks the ones there.
<DeathStar> <Man> This is the Dragon Clan's base of operations. You have to pay the toll to pass. 6* He smiles, peering at Kaelan. Off in the kitchens, a woman can be heard crying out, probably paying the 'toll' herself.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Dragon... clans..
<DeathStar> <Nuege Soldier 5> Filthy Navarro scum... 6* He steps forward
<Ametsune> <Azhren> What the hell is the 'dragon clan?'
<DeathStar> <Thomas> ... I bet none of these people have even seen such a creature...
* Kaelan frowns deeply. "..Wait. Let's take a lower kitchen. We don't need a fight here."
<DeathStar> <Man> We are fierce like a dragon. We will eat the flesh and bones of our enemies
* Kaelan eyes the Nuege soldier more then the guard now.
<DeathStar> 6* He smiles, showing his teeth, filed to look sharper
* Kaelan eyes the man. "Is the Warden your enemy?"
<DeathStar> <Man> Pah. If he comes up here, he'll face us. But he's holed himself up at the bottom, too afraid to face the Dragons
<Kaelan> "Why don't the dragons conquer his lair? It's far better then this hovel."
<DeathStar> 6* A man steps out of the back, and another moves in to replace. The woman's whimpers can be heard again
* Kaelan grits her teeth, she peers past them.
<DeathStar> <Man> With time. With time. We'll let them waste their resources with others, and while we rest up here, they will lack sleep, and then we will fly down and devour him.
<DeathStar> <Man> Do you want to join the dragons, woman? We could always use a woman to impregnate to make more hatchlings
<Kaelan> "I'm sorry, no, I have my own... gang... to get back to. Loyal to the end you know." *she eyes him* "We intend to charge the guards now, we're wanting off this island. Do you want to join wings?"
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas shakes his head, his fist clenched hard enough to draw blood in his palm, his eyes on the kitchen itself. It's clear these people disgust him. The Nuege Soldier shakes his head, rushing at them with his sword now
<Kaelan> "So much for the subtle approach..."
<DeathStar> 6* As the soldier moves in, springing like tigoars, two prisoners smash him from either side while he focuses on the leader, using bars to hit his head and his legs, bones breaking heard as he goes down. The leader walks up and talks his sword, shaking his head
<DeathStar> 6* The other Nuege soldiers murmur, looking at Azhren, clearly expecting him to order an attack, while the five prisoners move in. <Prisoner> We'll join the Dragons! 6* The other five nod. The Dragon Leader smiles. "Then come and kneel before me."
<DeathStar> 6* The five prisoners do so, and the Dragon Leader nods. "Good, good. Move and join your fellow brothers." 6* He waves them to the side, and the prisoners move to do so
* Kaelan peers at Azhren. Getting annoyed with his silence and inaction.
<DeathStar> <Solder 2> ... Sir Azhren!!! 6* He says when the man does nothing
<Kaelan> "If you're going to order something, do it before we're all dead."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ..." 6He twitches a bit and peers at the leader, sizing him up. 1"You're a dragon, are you?"
<DeathStar> <Dragon Leader> Indeed. Do you want to kneel before me, too? Even though I busted up your man?
<DeathStar> 6* The Nuege Soldiers, even though only 4 of them have swords, look ready to attack, even though they're outnumbered
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Animals only understand strength. If you lost, your men would join the winner.
<DeathStar> <Dragon Leader> My strength is my people. We are brothers. Don't think I will accept some sort of duel with you.
<DeathStar> 6* The prisoners all howl like they think a dragon would, and Thomas mutters it would be a roar
<Ametsune> <Azhren> The leader of the 'dragons' is too cowardly to stake his own life." 6He spits aside. 1"There's nothing to kneel to, then."
<DeathStar> 6* Exiting the kitchen, one prisoner drags a woman who's covered in semen and looks out of it, like she's endured something for hours, and lays her on the table
<DeathStar> 6* The Dragon Leader smiles. "My brothers, I think it's time we exterminated these people."
* Kaelan puts a hand on her sword handle, then twitches, looking at Azhren. "...We shuld go, now."
<DeathStar> 6* The 40 men begin to step forward. The Nuege soldiers look eager
<Ametsune> <Azhren> You're too weak to do anything yourself, so you trick the masses into doing your dirty work.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> But if any of them died, you would only replace them. You're not a dragon, you're a rat among mice.
* Kaelan peers between them.
<DeathStar> <Dragon Leader> Kill them all. The one armed man is mine. 6* He orders, moving toward Azhren while the others begin to rush at the Nuege Soldiers, Kaelan, and Thomas
* Kaelan draws her sword and moves in front of Thomas, stnading defensively.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We should close the doors and go quickl!
<Ametsune> 6Azhren shifts to meet him, moving forward as quickly as he can and mustering any strength he might have left to almost outrightedly try to run the guy right over and/or get ahold of him with his arm, grasping before others would fight.
* Kaelan nods and moves for the doors, "Keep by me."
<DeathStar> 6* The Dragon Leader shifts to the side, his speed quick, and with Azhren's wounded body, it would be clear to him almost immediately he won't beat him, especially when the leader drives his fist into Azhren's side and breaks two ribs
<DeathStar> 6* The Nuege Soldiers rush to follow Azhren with a battle cry, and Thomas steps back out into the hallway so Kaelan can shut the doors
* Kaelan shuts the doors behind them as they move out and looks a bit ill. "W-We should go... while they're busy..."
<DeathStar> 6* Kaelan would find the large wooden doors heavy to move, and it would take her a moment to close - time for Azhren to retreat if he chooses
<Ametsune> 6Azhren grits his teeth, stumbling visibly for once, but moves to dig his foot in and stop himself, reaching to grab the wrist that attacked him, trying to pull him off balance and to the ground, eyeing the Nuegan soldiers, hissing. 1"Back off. Leave here."
* Kaelan puts her back into it. Grunting with exertion.
<DeathStar> 6* It's too late for that, as the dragon clan descends on the soldiers, surrounding them and cutting off their escape - only Azhren isn't covered, since he's facing one man. They begin to attack the soldiers fiercefully, while Azhren grabs at the dragon leader, only to get a sword swipe along his arm, cutting it as the man rolls away to regather his balance
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas shakes his head at the scene, looking ill. "Azhren!!! Come on before it's too late!"
<Ametsune> 6Azhren howls, dropping his arm back and eyes Thomas, hesitantly, peering over at the soldiers, then the leader, drawing in a breath that makes his body rise and shiver as if about to go berserk, but closes his eyes and retreats to Thomas' voice.
<Kaelan> "H-Hurry!" *she doesn't slow her efforts, despite her cry, intending to close the door with or without him, even if she looks unhappy about doing so, she sighs a bit with relief when he moves for the doorway*
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas grabs his good arm and pulls him on through the narrow door as Kaelan shuts it. A moment later, the Dragon Leader's sword can be heard attacking at the door. The cries of the soldiers can be heard on the other side
<Kaelan> "W=We should go." *she tries to make sure it stays shut*
<DeathStar> 6* Then the door begins to get pushed on to reopen it. Azhren would see a large beam of wood to the side he could try to knock down in front of the door
<Ametsune> 6Azhren shifts to ram it, grunting angrily as it hits his wound.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We... go down...two floors...then enter the kitchen on that--- in case they found the stairs and chase us that way. 6* The wood falls down in front of the door
* Kaelan nods and puts an arm around Thomas to support him. "Let's go..."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ... ...I'm not leading.
* Kaelan starts making her way to the stairs. "I am. Move it."
<DeathStar> -TIME JUMP-
<DeathStar> 6* After reaching the main stairs and moving down two floors, they would see 20 more Nuege Soldiers barricaded with tables, peering down the stairs. A few are facing them and cry out. "Pri--Sir Azhren!"
<DeathStar> 6* The leader of the 20 turns and moves forward toward Azhren. "I had heard you were in this prison, Sir Azhren. I did not know you were part of the Nuege assault."
<Kaelan> "You want to take this one too, 'Soldier'?"
<Ametsune> <Azhren> I'm no more fortunate than any other.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> We could use your strength with us. I am planning to attack the guards below - they are heavily fortified, but it's the only way out
<DeathStar> <Soldier> Will you aid us?
<Kaelan> "Azhren and Thomas here are severely injured."
<DeathStar> <Soldier> Oh, of course. Hold on. We found this young girl prisoner... 6* He motions to a female Kit will now play who has the same herb skills as Zeal. He can decide on her looks and if she was falsely accused or a guilty soul.
<DeathStar> 6* The girl has some herbs on her that she stole from the guard rooms
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas leans against the wall, motioning at Kaelan to tell the soldier what they learned about the kitchen while the girl heals them
<Kaelan> "We learned there's a back way through the kitchens, stairs they use for easy access to ingredients."
<DeathStar> 6* The girl will have 20 herbs that can help minor wounds. If she mixes 2 together, they get stronger and become Super Herbs. Those can stop minor wounds, like Azhren's arm. If she mixes two Super Herbs for Ultra Herbs, they can fix wounds like the chest and give some vigor back
<Kaelan> "Kitchens in floors above are... occupied at the moment, so we need to reach this one, see if we can flank the enemy while it busies itself guarding the main stairway."
<DeathStar> <Soldier> They will likely have resistance there, too -- but not as much as the main stairs. I can see Sir Azhren has picked his allies well
<Kaelan> "We're... friends... of Arcane. We actually need to get out of here to continue a mission."
<Ametsune> <Girl> Well, who'd ye suggest t'heal? Ain' got all day.
<DeathStar> <Soldier> I see. We'll move toward the kitchen, then, while you are healed.
<Kaelan> "Treat both Thomas and Azhren, their chest wounds first before anything else."
<DeathStar> 6* The soldiers shift to take positions up, leaving Kaelan, the girl, Thomas, and Arm in the middle as they head down the hallway. The cells are all open, but there's no signs of prisoners.
<Ametsune> <Girl> Aye, it'll take bit more'n a few t'do. But if that's what ye want.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We will be...most appreciated...Miss.
<Kaelan> "Those first, then you can treat lesser wounds. Thank you kindly for your help Miss."
<Ametsune> 6The girl shrugs at Thomas, then mixes up two ultras and non-ceremoniously slaps it across Thomas and Azhren's major wounds, probably painful, leaving her with 12 left. She complains about it being insufficient.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas hisses, but the herbs quickly numb pain as they heal, quickly so.
<DeathStar> 6* Though it'll take an hour or two before they are truly back into shape. And some rest.
<DeathStar> 6* After moving down the hall, they pass another guard room, which looks to be looted of it's goods already, and enter the mess hall, where 8 prisoners have one guard backed into the corner; the guard has tons of cuts on his body, and is clearly being tortured. Azhren would recognize him as the guard who warned him about the attack
<DeathStar> <Prisoner> Squeal for us, pigoink. Squealk
<Kaelan> "Mmm, should we take time to recover before we move down? Seth could still be in trouble... oh gods..."
<DeathStar> 6* The soldiers draw what weapons they managed to get - bars and whatnot, and these prisoners only seem to have ore knives
<Kaelan> "Back away from that man, now."
<DeathStar> 6* The prisoners turn, having not heard them coming, but shift to turn their weapons on them
<DeathStar> 6* They eye the numbers with a sneer. "He's ours."
<Kaelan> "Are you as stupid as you are insane? We outarm and outnumber you. You want out of the joint or to die of blood loss in it?"
<DeathStar> <Prisoner> ... ... Tch. He's not worth a fight. Come on boys. 6* They move to go
* Kaelan keeps her guard up as they go.
<Ametsune> 6Azhren breathes out about it. 1"Ruffians.."
<Kaelan> "Girl, see to that man's wounds."
<DeathStar> 6* The guard leans against the wall, wincing in pain. "Azhren...you live." 6* He murmurs in wonder
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas peers about, then once they are gone, moves to the kitchen to explore it. The guard has 10 minor cuts on him
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Indeed. I thank you.
<DeathStar> <Guard> They claimed you had died---and were going to put blame on your friend...he's below. He was sent to the Warden...
<Kaelan> "At least we know where he is now. They were trying to get us to pin the blame on him."
<DeathStar> <Guard> If--he is still in the Warden's office...you must reach the lower floor, then proceed to the Warden's part of the prison---a tower of sorts. He's at the top of it. That way...there is only one way to reach him...and he can barricade himself up there
<Ametsune> <Azhren> His own... tower?

<DeathStar> 6* The guard peers at the other soldiers, then Azhren. "And they?"
<Kaelan> "I'm from Sinai. These men want freedom."
<Kaelan> "Thier only crimes are following orders."
<Kaelan> "Yet they're grouped with murders and rapists."
<DeathStar> <Guard> And will they attack Navarro again if released? 6* The soldiers eye each other, then Azhren and Kaelan

<Kaelan> "I don't know, I intend to send them home however. After this, they deserve to see their families again."
<DeathStar> <Guard> If they promise to go home, then I will... aid you. 6* The soldiers eye Azhren again; their eyes clearly state they plan to continue their war, and wondering if lying to one man is worth it

<Ametsune> 6Azhren moves over and actually thows a punch for the Guard's right side of the face.
* Kaelan moves her hand out and knocks it aside as he does.

<DeathStar> 6* The guard is startled and is hit, since Kaelan wouldn't be able to stop that

<DeathStar> 6* The Nuege Soldier is hit by the fist and goes down, holding his jaw. The other 19 face Azhren, on guard

* Kaelan looks confused.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Our word is our honor. You dare deceive? This war is a farce. I have no intention of returning to arms over a political game.
<DeathStar> <Nuege Soldier> ... then you would...betray King Arcane?!
<DeathStar> 6* He clammors to his feet, his face already red from the blow, and he eyes Azhren with anger
* Kaelan sighs a bit. "No, that's not what he's saying."
<DeathStar> 6* The guard peers amongst the commotion, looking startled and confused
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Should your loved ones and family be more important than trophies and conquest?
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Pride in one's roots and land is admirable... Folly is not.
<Kaelan> "We don't even know if there's still a war on right not."
<DeathStar> <Nuege Soldier> ... Let us go, men. We will get out without their aid. 6* He turns to go. The other 19 soldiers eye Azhren once, then follow their leader toward the kitchen
* Kaelan eyes Azhren now and moves after them. "Wait. We're all in this together at least until we clear this place."
<DeathStar> <Nuege Soldier> Woman - leave now before I decide you are our enemy. We do not want you with us. We will not stop your own plans to escape, but you will not walk with us
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas stands to the side, eyeing the soldiers, as they move on, and glances at Kaelan, shaking his head in warning to let them go. He whispers, once he's close enough. "They will provide a distraction for us to slip out toward Seth, hopefully."
<DeathStar> 6* The guard glances at Azhren, then holds out his hand to him. "I don't know why you were brought here, Azhren, but you seem to be the most honorable man in this prison."
* Kaelan sighs and nods, stepping away from the soldiers. "...Good luck to all of your. Make Arcane proud."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> They did not even offer this man a chance to defect.
<Ametsune> 6Azhren stares at the guard's hand, then takes it.
* Kaelan looks at Thomas, then over at Azhren. She doesn't seem happy.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> Their hate for Navarro is strong with the centuries of war, and they will obey their King to the end. This war will not end any time soon, I fear
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Thus what is wrong with this frightened, naive world.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We should head down after them now, and wait for them to strike
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Right. You will come with us?" 6He eyes the guard.
<Kaelan> Alright... Alright... *she sighs, looking at the guard*
<DeathStar> <Guard> Yes.
<Kaelan> "Alright then, let's be on our way."
* Kaelan moves for the stairway, gripping her sword.
<DeathStar> 6* As they move down the stairs, Thomas taking a deliberately slow pace to keep distance from the Nuege soldiers, after descending a bit, they can hear the sounds of battle below
* Kaelan pauses, listening. "Alright... sounds like it's already started."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas creeps down, and peers; the sight of dead guards can be seen, heads busted in, and the Nuege Soldiers seem to be actively fighting 20 other guards.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We should go now, I think
* Kaelan nods, looking for the Warden's area. "Which way..."
<DeathStar> <Guard> We'll have to get to the main area; that's pretty far from here still. I will lead the way. 6* He bravely steps forward, peers at the fighting, then darts down to the ground level and takes a path large enough for wagons to carry food here. In fact, this area is full of food barrells
<DeathStar> 6* And rats can be seen darting about them
* Kaelan sniffs and heads after him. "Food's this bad before it gets to us, wow."
<Ametsune> 6Azhren eyes the rats. 1"Would rather eat them..." 6He mumbles, following.
<DeathStar> 6* As they travel down the path, Thomas speaks . "I am surprised we are not encountering resistance in this tunnel - they must hear the fighting...." 6* Then he pauses, hearing fighting up ahead, too. When they get closer, they can see prisoners attacking from the stairs, dying in droves
<Kaelan> "That would be why."
<DeathStar> 6* This is where they were brought in, with the large wooden doors leading outside to the left, and to their right a staircase where Mercy was taken
* Kaelan points at the staircase. "That way, I think."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas eyes the fighting; most of the guards aren't facing them, focused on keeping the prisoners back.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Do you know how to operate the bridge?" 6He asks the guard.
* Kaelan eyes the fighting too. "...Perhaps we should press on while they don't know we're here."
<DeathStar> <Guard> Quickly, follow me - if they see me leading you, they might not stop us. 6* He peers at Azhren. "There are people on the other side of the canyon who operate it. We can't do it from this side."
<DeathStar> 6* The guard begins to move for the staircase as quickly as he can, with Thomas following, who's frowning. <Thomas> We'll need leverage if we want them to lower it, or we'll have to brave the ravine
<Kaelan> "We're heading to leverage."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> And what kind of 'leverage?'
<DeathStar> <Thomas> The warden, perhaps
<Kaelan> "The Warden, we'll hold him and turn him loose when we're free. Better then the other prisoners would give him."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Weren't we avoiding that road now?
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We're committed to this the moment this began
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Very well.
<DeathStar> 6* As they go up the stairs, they would pass a kitchen area where the food looks supreme, with no rats, and smells good. Some pies can be seen on a table, abandoned during the fighting, and Thomas actually stops to eye them
<Kaelan> "Not now Thomas..." *she peers at the food longingly herself*
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We... could use food for strength--we do not know when we will be able to eat again...
<Kaelan> "T-True... but Seth could be in danger..." *she looks annoyed as her stomach grumbles unhelpfully*
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas migrates toward it and grabs a pie, then turns to follow them, putting his hands in it and eating it directly, something he's never done before, always using utensils. He begins to stuff the food into his mouth as he moves
<Kaelan> * Kaelan reaches over and digs out some, glomming it down as she moves.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas jerks it away from her as he tries, eyeing her like a wild man, then looks guilty, shifting it back
<DeathStar> <Thomas> I--- apologize...
<Kaelan> * Kaelan pouts and takes a little less then she intended. "It's alright, I should have asked."
<DeathStar> 6* The next floor has a bath large enough for a few people, clearly the Warden's. A female prison is there, still shackled, naked - probably there to bathe the warden when he arrives.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> No, eat as much as you want, we'll grab more on the way down.
* Kaelan pauses and moves in, she frowns. "Hold the shackles taunt miss."
<DeathStar> 6* The female eyes Kaelan and the others, and the guard suspiciously. But seeing the three in prison grabs, obeys
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ...Are you going to break it with a sword?
* Kaelan pulls out her sword. "Hold it tight, I'm going to hit the chain, not you."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ..." 6He squints and stares.
<DeathStar> 6* The woman does slowly, watching Kaelan carefully
* Kaelan holds th sword level and then strikes at the chain with a practiced slice at the weaker part of the link.
<DeathStar> 6 *Thomas looks around the place, then shifts to a table with keys. He picks it up, moving back over, as Kaelan damages the chain, but not enough to break it yet
* Kaelan looks up, ready for a second blow, when she eyes Thomas. "...Or we could use the keys."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas offers a smile, and uncuffs them. The woman, once free, darts away without another word
<Ametsune> 6Azhren actually chuckles at Kaelan.
<Kaelan> "Onward we go." 8she sheathes her sword* "Almost had it too... I wonder what make this blade is." *she tries to look dignified about it*
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas watches the woman go. "She-- should have stayed with us---she will be in danger alone."
<Kaelan> "Doubt she trusts us enough to take the chance we won't hurt her. It's everyone for themselves here. Now let's save our own guardsman turned hunter."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Yet we freed her to run off into the animals upstairs.
<Ametsune> 6Azhren eyes Kaealan. 1"You run fast, woman. Maybe catch her?"
<Kaelan> "I'd imagine she ran down, not up."
* Kaelan moves to the stairs and looks downwards, then back up.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas moves to the stairs. "She's long gone by now, with our talking, so it's no longer an issue." 6* He refers to Kaelan taking the time to respond and talk
<Kaelan> "Y-Yeah... apologies..."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> No matter.
* Kaelan rubs her head and starts back up the stairs.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard rubs his head, but moves up; the next floor, they would see cells, and Seth is in one, and the others have some, too. They look dangerous.
* Kaelan looks to Thomas. "Try those keys on his cell?" *she looks around for other keys*
<DeathStar> 6* In the room are 4 guards, who shift out of the shadows when they enter, about to talk when Kaelan says that
<DeathStar> 6* They go for their swords
<Kaelan> * Kaelan draws her sword.
<Kaelan> Seth> "Allo all... oh, yes, you have company."
<DeathStar> 6* The four soldiers draw their's as well
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas eyes the guards, then throws the keys into Seth's cell
<DeathStar> 6* The four guards rush at Kaelan, preparing to strike
* Kaelan backs up a little, she raise her sword, readying to defend herself against the guards as Seth picks up the keys and starts working the lock.
<DeathStar> 6* The first guard swings in horizontally at Kaelan's stomach, while the next slashes down vertically for her head at a right angle to the other, so she can't parry them both; the other two get ready for how she dodges
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas grips the remains of his pie and throws it into one of the two waiting's face, making the guard curse
* Kaelan brings her sword up vertically to block the horizonatl blow as she backs and sidesteps to the left to avoid the downward blow. Seth works the keys to open the door and looks for something to grab to fight with.
<Ametsune> 6Azhren moves forward quickly, using one good arm to try and smash the pied guards' head together
<DeathStar> 6* As she steps left, the fourth guard strikes, cutting into her shoulder painfully, the weapon lodged into bone. The two attacking ones recover, and strike in the same method again at her, while Thomas shoves Azhren into one, letting him take the damage of the sword, but also knock the one attacking ver-- (ignore line)

<DeathStar> 6* The remaining two back up quickly
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas grabs the sword from the enemy, and turns to face the two remaining ones; one charges at him, slashing, and he parries as best he can
* Kaelan switches her sword to one hand, the other arm limp as she keeps focused on the other guard. Seth leaps on that guard from behind, punching out for the back of the man's head.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard is hit by the surprise strike and falls forward into Kaelan
<Kaelan> * Kaelan pushes the man aside with her blade roughly, moving in to strike at the other guard's side with his focus on Thomas, while Seth moves to grab at the back of the man's head.
<DeathStar> 6* The guard is hit and cut down, blood spewing. Their guard stares in pale horror, but moves to get a sword
<Kaelan> * Kaelan goes to a knee, holding her shoulder to try and stop bloodflow as Seth grabs onto the man's head and forces it down, attemping to knock him out against the floor.
<DeathStar> 6* The man is hit against the floor with a sickening thud sound and doesn't move. The guard moves and knocks out the two Azhren knocked together, breathing deeply
<DeathStar> <Thomas> ... 6* He shifts to help Kaelan, taking some cloth from his uniform to tie up the wound
<Kaelan> * Kaelan takes the help, she looks at the fallen guard and closes her eyes. "Sorry..."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Apologies." 6He notes to the guard with them. 1"If you had any lingering attachments."
<Kaelan> Seth> "If you knew what these sorts were into for fun while they waited around putting the wrong people on the stocks, you might not be."
<DeathStar> <Guard> No. I agreed to help you escape. I knew it may get bloody.
<Kaelan> Seth> "Too bloody on our side, so what's the plan? I hear there's a good amount of chaos going on." *he cracks his knuckles, then takes up a sword* "What I'd give for a my bow..."
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We're going to take the Warden adn hope we can force him to lower the drawbridge
<Kaelan> Seth> "Oh good. Very good. He's above I think."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Convenient...
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas moves back for the stairs and the guard follows them, peering once at the blood, then seems to steel himself as they move up
<Kaelan> * Seth looks up. "Not sure about more guards though. I say the big undead man should go first."
<Kaelan> * Kaelan moves behind Thomas, a bit more careful now with her wound.
<DeathStar> 6* At the top floor, they would see 10 guards standing outside a closed door, looking armed to the teeth and well armored
<Ametsune> <Azhren> This should be fun.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas kneels to keep out of sight as best he can, frowning
<Kaelan> * Kaelan kneels as well, so does Seth. "Mmm... we should draw them away slowly and take them out in smaller packs." *he whispers* "Else let the guard get us through somehow."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Doubtful given our looks.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> I'm sure they won't be drawn away from protecting the Warden
<Kaelan> Seth> "Doubt we can each take on two. So we need some kinda plan."
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas peers up at the light source, a chandlier type object with glowstones, to go with the fancy area with chairs for people to 'wait' to see the Warden
<Kaelan> * Seth eyes it, then looks about for whatever's holding it up.
<DeathStar> 6* A chain
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ...Wanting to drop it on them?
<Kaelan> Kaelan> "I... could try breaking this one. We need to get them under it."
<Kaelan> * Kaelan eyes whatever is securing the chain a moment.
<DeathStar> 6* The chain seems to be attached to a metal plate of sorts, hammered in with nails
<Kaelan> Kaelan> "Yeah, the chain, a metal plate might be too hard."
<Ametsune> <Azhren> ...Nails. Held by pressure alone. Might be easier.
<DeathStar> <Guard> How could you break that, though, it's high up?
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Would need leverage. Easier, but I didn't say I knew how it'd be feasible...
<Kaelan> "How do they replace the glows?" *she sighs*
<Kaelan> Seth> *keeps looking around*
<DeathStar> <Thomas> Glowstones can explode if hit hard enough. 6* He notes after a moment. Seth would see nothing of that height in the room. It would look tacky after all
<Kaelan> Seth> "If I had a damn bow, I could shoot one."
<Kaelan> Kaelan> "Throw a blade?"
<DeathStar> <Thomas> Wait here.
<DeathStar> 6* He moves back down the stairs
<Kaelan> * They nod together.
<Ametsune> <Azhren> Alone...?" 6She peers back after Thomas, ready to follow on a moment's notice.
<DeathStar> 6* Thomas returns after a few long, tense moments with a cracked glowstone. "I damaged this as much as I could. If Azhren throws it with all his strength at the ceiling, it may explode.
<DeathStar> <Thomas> We'll simply have to lure them under it
<DeathStar> 6* He holds it out to Azhren.
<Kaelan> * Kaelan nods. "Move to the edge of the thing and let them come to us then."
<DeathStar> <Thomas> May we succeed
