History:
Not much is known of the Demon Realm's inner land. What little of the map has been filled is from slaves who have won their freedom and decided to left, though it is strangely more rare than one thinks, since the strong rule in the Demon Realm, and a slave who rises up in the ranks can win their freedom and get treks of land, power, and their own sects of 'family'. So leaving back into the normal society of Tareh is very rare. Also much of the map is based on the land before the Demons began to change it and change it.
The demons were leaderless after the Angelic War, which they began to rise up from the center of Tareh and other places in great numbers. Though there had always been demons on Tareh during the God Era, the Angelic War saw their numbers rise in great numbers, especially when the Imperials seemingly had a hand in releasing them, and then mixing with them. Demons came in all sorts of types and so there was always in-fighting and all continents had their own types of demons to deal with, making it hard to deal with them. While the God Era saw a limited number of them, after the Angelic War there was a huge in-flux and Hunters who once dealt with Monsters that roamed and plagued Tareh now focused on both Demon Hunting and Monster Hunting as a profession.
A nuisance for the first 100 years after the Angelic War, they raped and pilaged where-ever they could, but the demons, coming in such a variety, all reacted and dealt with things differently. The lower-castes doing things differently than the higher castes and the power struggles already playing out, with the stronger demons controlling the weaker. Some even tried to blend into society. It was when the virus struck the humans they truly began to wreck havoic across Tareh, espcially in the human oriented Kingdoms. They began to gain the upper hands and began to work together more, forming cliches and demons who of different species began to work together, with the strongest leading. The Azuha and Elves drove them back out west eventually when the virus died down and there they licked their wounds.
However, it was with the Elven Civil War in 2620 - 2624 AJ that the demons truly became organized under a new demon that rose up - unlike any other species, Asmodeus managed to beat the Cadre, made up of the strongest demons, and forced them to pledge to ally with him. This new Demonic Emperor began to whip the demons into order and formed a new Demon Empire of sorts in the west lands that the demons had been driven, to the west of Sinai that bad been rapidly turning into the Empire of Alrhyl, especially with what would happen coming up. There, the rules were simple: The strong ruled with authority and formed their own sects, or families. The more powerful you were, the larger your sect, or family, could become, and the more slaves and family you could add, and the more you could breed. Slaves who would show great strength and could rise up against their masters could break away and start their own sects and families. It was even encouraged for Sects to fight amongst themselves in rivalaries and backstabbing to rise to the top, climbing the ladder. While demons were ranked based on their strength, with certain demons being lower due to what type they were, if they were smart and crafty enough and could gain relics, they could rise higher and increase their Sect. And so the Demon Realm was born in in 2630 AJ. They began to carve all the West Lands, taking and pillaging more and more land.
Leading the demons against the rest of Tareh over the next 40 years, Asmodeus led a reign of fire and chaos that led to the growth of the Demon Realm as they pillaged Tareh, taking slaves and supplies and relics from all over. They took mages from the Guild, they took Knights from the knewly formed Empire of Alrhyl, they took elves and Azuha, tech magik from Gelus, and knowledge form Neer. And the Demon Realm grew fat and strong from it. Even when they were driven back by the combined forces and kept in their borders by the end, the demons knew they were the winners in the end. When 2700 AJ began and all of Tareh finally got their act together to keep the demons in the Demon Realm over the next 50 years, Asmodeus turned his focus instead to increasing the power and greatness within, the cities and darkness within the Demon Realm growing greater and the demons growing more vicious and strong, Sects rising and falling, backstabbin and growing more powerful as they worked with and against each other, weeding out the weak. Slaves would even rise to prominence and in one case a slave is rumored, based on information, to possiblely have gotten close to the Cadre, or on it.
When the Kingdom of Badelf launched a 30 year war against the Kingdom of Gelus in 2751 AJ - 2780 AJ, Asmodeus began to prepare for it, spending the first 8 years of the war getting the demons who were the best ready by training them against each other, then the next 7 actually using subtle warfare, sending in the demons who were best at blending in with humans, or slaves who were loyal, to work both sides and stir stuff, as well as transplanting them into other kingdoms to spy and stir. After getting a grasp of things, the demons began to wreck all hell in the last 15 years, attacking all the kingdoms and damaging their supplies and killing leaders, taking supplies and slaves once more and crippling things. The only Kingdom to really fair the best as the Empire. After the war, they became the shield against the Demon Realm as they were next door, and so for the next 50 years, the templars became the main threat against the Demons, and the two sides clashed viciously. A lot of the information on the Kingdom came from the Empire's efforts, as they captured demons and slaves alike, of various rank and elk, and interrogated them - some were willing to comply, happy to be free, others the information perhaps was coherised. The Templars, using all sorts of magik and techniques, kept the demons at bay in a bloody 50 year conflict that brought at the worst in the demon warfare.
By the time it began to finally wind down in 2830 AJ and the demons set up things to keep the Templars at bay, Tareh was once again changing. In 2845 AJ, Badelf attacked once again Galus and this led to a 5 year war that the other kingdoms teamed up against them, so thati n 2850 AJ it led to the Forced Check Era, leading to interesting developments.
Recent History/Politics:
Recently, the group traveled into the Demon Realm and the leader, Asmodeus, was killed and the next most powerful Cadre member, Malthus, took over. Having kidnapped Seraphim, he has been slaughtering the weak, and prepping the Demon Realm for war, overturning all Asmodeus worked for. It is also unknown if the Matrix, a huge, many mile long city complex in the True Demon Realm, was fully destroyed before ther group was pulled out.
