That sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to save the universe, but you cannot ever turn your back on your family, your beliefs, and your friends when saving what's important, because they are what is most important.

Darien Star is from an alternate timeline in which he never was killed due to Legacy taking him over after Sammael Hendricks chopped his arm off. In this timeline, the same one that future Athena and Isis Zhenmei were from, he lived well enough until the Legacy emerged and began to destroy everyone. Using an experimental cloning/enhancement to make a new, younger body so he could combat the threat, he aided the future Erevis Zhenmei in getting the girls back in time to protect them.

After it was clear the battle would be lost, Darien joined the team on the CHIP in the past, and brought them to the future to help him destroy all the time portals and erase the timeline. Successful, and not having needed to die to erase the timeline after Sammael did so, he remained in the past timeline, the real and offical one now. Getting in touch with Ariel again after not having gotten with her in his erased timeline, the two have begun to develop a relationship, and once back on Earth, Darien invited Ariel to stay with him at his mansion.

Moving into Cheryl's mansion to aid the team, Darien was crucical in the role of finding X and defeating the remnants of Han Tucker's forces. After Alexander Cran was killed and Christopher Kane became President, he was selected by him to become Vice President. Though he shortly afterward proposed to Ariel, she withdrew from life itself and Darien moved on.

Eventually, due to events out of his control, Darien became President of EarthGov and is struggling to keep it together with the Order out there and the fact EarthGov is suffering from a recession with hyperspace down. He's also discovered he has twin daughters from the NGD project, Eluere and Curali, and that the DNA used was his and Ariel's. He worked hard to be a father to them after that.

For the next 8 years, he remained President of EarthGov until he passed it onto Angela, his VP, when he could no longer run, and then enjoyed retirement, aiding General Peter Sullivan's group finanically, and paying for things Curali, Eluere, and Cheryl have needed over the years to the point his finances are nearly empty, despite extensive investments.

Darien gained his other self's memories as time went on and joined, aided Cheryl and the Reality Strikers, and helped in the events of The Alien Wars 5. After the war, he spent his time with Curali and Eluere and their children, enjoying retirement, and especially his grandchildren. However, after events began to show the planet was decaying due to an invading mirror universe, he joined the Special Ops that President Cheryl formed and headed it up, bringing in his two grandchildren to join him.

However, disaster struck when Darien was "killed" when in fact the true V.I took him, so that Venerator's personality could be inserted inside his brain. He began to lead the VI operatives for months until eventually he was stoppe and the Venerator Intelligence was driven out. With his body damaged and showing his age these days, Darien is now using an exo-suit to help aid the team one last time.
