Maka Homeworld:

The Maka Homeworld is a place of strangeness. It is like a snapshot of Tokyo, Japan back in the 20th century and is hyper focused on what their shows - especially their anime - and culture was like back then. Entire portions of the planet revolve around cliches such as toast in the mouth and more. There is some seriousness and the Maka's leader, the Emperor, seems to be serious, but a lot of the Maka and their powers are almost comically sweet and syrupy in comparison. The Maka that get their powers off world appear to be more serious in nature - Nicolette, Sparkling, Zayne, etc - compared to the ones who actually grow up on the planet.

The Maka all have a good heart and want what is best for you, but their #1 job is to defeat the Makai that crop up and their forces. This has, in the past, led them to clash with the team when Zayne was still a Makai, before being turned into a spirit. This is due to the fact that the planet has been in a constant state of war with the Makai and the demons that rise up from them. And the fact once you fall into being a Makai, there is no turning back.

Since returning to the Mirror Universe, the Maka have been making it a point to reach out and help the Mirror Universe as best they can, especially with the jarring transition over and have been making a connection with the Mirror Earth. The two have been becoming fast allies the past few years.
