Amazon Origins:
Around 900 CE, history begins to note a tribe of women to the north-east. Their own history is muddled, though they state that feeling oppressed by forces, and following the Great Water Spirit, they rose up and began to train themselves to be independent from the men in the region who were warrior-like and abusive. While there is nothing to back it up due to the length of time, the women who would become Amazons managed to forge weapons and using the Great Water Spirit dominate all the men in the region, forcing them to become slaves and sex slaves. Forming an all-female society, the men they did not take over, they drove westward, and would make life-long enemies of.
They would proceed to make raids against other nomad tribes who were not even part of it by 990 CE and take the men from them, and gather more women of various races into their groups. It is around then they encountered the Hapians for the first time. While the Hapians drew back to their borders, the women tribe continued to do raids against any men from the Hapian Dynasty they found, and continued their war with the original male group they drove off, which was growing in strength over the next few hundred years.
Using the Great Water Spirit, by the year 2000 CE, they began to call themselves the Amazons, having built great cities and port cities, and using the Spirits patroled the seas, meeting the Daemons and trading with them, since the Daemons were so different and many were female they did not feel threatened by them. And almost always their leader was a female. Discovering the Monks and Magi before they were wiped out, as well as more, the Amazons continued to develop and train their women, many of them becoming lesbians instead of even touching men outside the need to reproduce. The original male group they drove out, and continued to raid for male specimen, now called themselves the Legion and had developed their own society as a roving band of warriors. Due to the raids by the Amazons, the two finally came into a war shortly.
The Legion/Amazonion Wars:
A series of wars that never truly had satisfying conclusions, with both sides built up since 990 CE, in the year 2220 CE the Amazons, during one of their raids, was struck hard by a Legion group. The Legions, having allowed the raids to go on with only minor hits back, had been building up their armies and cities and finally hit with all their forces, decimating the raiding party and taking the women prisoner, returning the favor of rape and pillaging their men had suffered. The Amazons, enraged, launched their army that the Legionare army met in turn and the two sides went to war. Considered the first Legion-Amazon War, it lasted from 2220 CE until 2223 CE when both sides called it quits after the massive battle that left both sides reeling.
The next Legion-Amazon War, called the Second Legion-Amazon War, took place twenty years later in 2243 CE and lasted 200 years, broken up for year periods, sometimes even up to a decade, before the war would resume. When it ended on 2443 CE, offically considered the end of the war despite long breaks before, was when the Legion shattered the Amazon forces for good and the Amazons were forced to retreat across their border. The Legion tried to push their luck but they were pushed back barely.
The Amazons realized the roving band was nothing to underestimate, even if they were men and so they build forts along the border to the Legion territory and spent generations repopulating lost women. Sons that were born were passed to new families to be used as sperm donors and work force labor instead of raiding the Legion, and they focused on other groups, such as the Hapians and the nomads that would become the Naturalists.
The Third Legion-Amazon War came in 2991 CE and lasted until 3145 CE. Also having long break periods, this was the nastiest of the four major wars. One time the fort was burned and one of the Legion cities were destroyed. Many Legionares were kidnapped and many Amazon warriors were killed. Once again, when it was over, the Amazon quit raiding the Legions for a time, but after 500 years resumed once more.
In the year 4,500 CE, after the conflicts between the Amazons and the Legions continued to be hit and runs on each side for a time, the Amazons came up with a new plan. The Legion, still being a band of warriors with their cities typically being only a place to rest and repopulate, and where they kept the young, old, and weak, where a people that were quite nomadic - they roamed and fought to keep themselves streghtened, looking for challenges. The Amazons struck such a group and left evidence that the Magi were behind it, in order to lead the Legion into an ambush to wipe them out. They selected the Magi because mostly at this period Magi were males and the Amazons despised them for their dicks and balls.
The Legion took the bait and many were wiped out or captured by the Amazons. The Legion never forgave the Magi, and it would lead them to wiping out the Magi in 4,745 CE and developing the current society they have today when they learned the truth. And when they found out the Amazons were behind the evidence planting 245 years prior, and also more in the following years, they were enraged. Focusing on building their new society and no longer being a roving band, the Legion transformed into a Republic much like the Romans, and in 4,800 CE the newly strengthened Legion launched an attack on the Amazons, and a 150 year raged on, with hardly a year's break. both sides were devastated, but many Amazons died at the end, or were captured. And the Legion was left more victorious than not. By 4,950 CE, the Amazons were forced to re-evaluate war-fare.
The New Amazons:
Forming a new agreement with the Hapian Dynasty, and expanding their land to new lengths, by 5,000 CE, the Amazons began to recover from their defeat in the Fourth Legion-Amazon War. The agreement being for trade, and not taking males while they were in Hapian territory anymore. But for males to keep out of their own. However, with many lesbians in the Amazons, they had to resist snatching women when they traveled now. The Amazons began to transform their society some, granting some rights to men, such as children who grew up loyal and allowed them to fight for them in certain circumstances. These branded men were given leeway, as long as they had women masters with them. After so many years they were allowed to speak in matters regarding things, and pick mates if the mate was willing.
The Amazons also began to make some goverment bodies, comprising it of older warriors who could no longer fight, and the best warriors who still could, to have a blend of wisdom and also fighting prowess. The ruling body was called the Order. It was comprised of 12 each, along with a Queen of the Amazons having final say on certain matters.
Women who were taken against their will, or 'rescued', though it was rare, were allowed to join the Amazons if they wished, and the taker was punished typically since they could not control their impulses against another woman. Only women who truly need rescuing can be brought into the Amazons to be joined if she does not wish to join.
And as far as men go, they cannot be abused once they are taken - they were to be treated well like a horse. Many of the Amazons were not pleased with the changes, but the new Queen and the Order made it so and by the time Kumens came, most accepted it. However, the bad blood between the Legion and the Amazons would never be repaired, since the Amazons would always take men and the Legion would always represent that which the Amazons fight against.
Kumen and the Space Ports:
When the Hapians allowed the Space Port to be built in 5800 CE, many of the Amazons were divided on the matter since men and females were coming in. It was finally voted on that men were not allowed into the area, and warnings would be posted to give the unknowing males a chance. Afterward, it would be fair game. However, many Amazons began to try to seduce and lure impressionable new female species to the Amazonian territory, especially since only women can run households and own land. With the Amazons poaching and welcoming people, after time they finally - after rejecting it several times - a place on the Geyze Council that the Hapians made - in the hopes of destroying the Legion with the voting powers and getting more women pushed their way. As well as helping out their Great Water Spirit.
Amazons Today:
Recently, after a war with the Legion in 5990 that was brought to an end by the Academy and Qui Yi, who took over by defeated her mother, a new regime came under way at the very end of the year. Now a treaty has been signed between the Amazons and the Legion that is tentative and new, but everyone hopes will last.
