Naturalist Faction

History:

The Naturalist Origins:

Around 3245 CE, a group of people living to the south-west of the Hapians had begun to grow unhappy with the state of affairs of Geyze for the past thousand years. Nomads who had lived there for all that time, finding the land there lush and full of life, and guarded by the Wind Great Spirit. As they watched the Hapians using the Lesser Spirits to grow their cities and power, and the warring Legion and what would become the Amazons, they decided that there needed to be a defender of the Spirits and the planet itself. Calling themselves the Naturalists, they began to call upon like minded people and work with the Wind Great Spirit to defend this area and tend to it.

Promising to protect and culture the land, and use nothing that isn't provided by the land itself and the Spirits, the Naturalists decided that all those who live within their borders would be subject to this rule and the Great Wind Spirit was pleased. Spending the next hundreds of years building their cities off the land, and only inviting like minded people, they ignored treaties from the Hapians once they began to notice the culture forming to the south-west. The Daemons, when they made the same overtured, they accepted due to the simple fact the Daemons used the land in the same way the Naturalists did.

Each of their cities were designed to make use of the land, from the River Village using the river and mud there to make the buildings, to the Walled Off Village using trees and rocks to build a fortress city, and their port village and ships using lumber from the fortress and materials.

Their capital is built with complete materials from the Forest to the east so that for the capital itself, it looks like a small forest was transplanted onto the grasslands. Once they were finished after all this time, they kept to themselves and made plans to train with their Wind arts and armies to take down those who would hurt the Spirits, with any means they could, though they knew it would thousands of years to get ready.

Within their forests, there are many dragons, and they have many werebeast among their territory. The Naturalists, due to their in-tune abilities with nature, are about to form pacts with dragons, and ride them and use them as fighters. The werebeasts seem very adapt at making pacts with the dragons.

The Space Port and the Kumen Tech City:

When the arrival of the Kumens came in 5795 CE, the world of Geyze changed. Offended at the Space Port being built, this was another reason for them to hate the Hapians. However, even the Naturalists came to two conclusions. 1) They would need to use the space port to travel to other worlds to meet more Spirits and get allies, as well as learn about their enemies on other planets. And 2) It would bring followers and like minded people to their lands.

Open minded and arms spread, they let any who wished to live in their lands and accept nature stay, and many did from the Alpha Quadrant since the Naturalist borders were prestine nature, even compared to other factions' territories. The season is almost always spring or fall, without summer or winter. However, the peace would not last forever due to the Kumen greed.

When the Hapians pushed for their Geyze Council once more, the Naturalists were the staunchist opponents and did not attend and sabotaged many meetings. It would take until way past 5930 CE until they would begin to attend regularly, realizing if they wanted to steer Geyze toward their agenda and bring down the Hapians, they would need to take control of the Council from the Hapians and seek other allies in the other 6 members.

Naturalist Today:

The Naturalist as a people today are very nomadic, even with cities, and many live on the plains in roving and traveling groups. They are like naturalist gypsys in some ways and will travel to other factions to try to turn them over to their ways and make them Naturalists. They wear little clothing, chosing to wear fur tops and bottoms from animals they raise. To learn more about them, see Life on Geyze.

They have a mild form of Central Leadership, with a group of elders, made of men and women. It is a group of 13 people. They also have a chief that oversees the group, who is currently an older women named Maria Fairchild. She helps guide the council and tells them when to meet. The elders are made up from the cities, as well as major nomadic traveling groups.

Once the Kumen began to open up mining operations, with the Hapian's blessings, this anatgonized the Naturalists greatly. They became hostile to any Kumen who dared enter their territory since then (only those who had previously entered and became one of them were spared their wrath). They have protested and rioted at their mines and even staged attacks when they can do so, and when the attacks on the spirits began, the Naturalists have begun to gather small raids on Kumen forces with their dragon forces.

At the end of 5990, a small rebellion broke off and attacked the Hapians that took over the mining operations. They were defeated and rounded up by the proper authorities and the help of the Academy.
