Fauna were created for a few express purposes. After moving to the Delta Quadrant, what few pets were brought over quickly died off since they were not a priority to bring. While synthetic pets have been made, and are very pricey - a luxury for the Top Side people to enjoy and some of the Middle Side, it's not something most people get to enjoy. Even a few cloned animals continue to exist in zoos and other areas, actual life animals. These are definitely for only the rich. And so, the Fauna were made. Fauna were created to replace pets, and a number of other functions. Based off old ideas, they made them humanoid, creating cat, fox, and dog Fauna and selling them on market to all the levels of Kumen, and making various models. Pet, Worker, and Companion, the latter being a term for those who wanted to marry the Fauna because they were lonely. It was a big hit since they were considered quite loveable - they kept the unique quirks of the animals they were based off of, yet had human common sense - for the most part - and could reason and think. Many resturants hired them as showgirls and waitresses to bring people in, especially on the Middle Levels, having to make sure their Faunas could pass very examines to be able to do so. To this day, Faunas can be seen on all levels, even the Slums, since so many have been made. Though the ones on the Slums are often treated a little sleezy and their care is not often a concern that it should be. Fauna are meant to be treated both like human beings and pets - needing love and attention, perhaps more so than humans since pets can be needy and Faunas grows rapidly to adult hood, much like animals do - within a year. But they need to be taught and focused, like pets. Hence the need for exams. Many in the Slums bypass that for using them as sex workers and other jobs. However, when you see a Fauna in a job she loves, and with an owner she loves, they are definitely in their field. 20 years ago, Faunas were given their own citizenship rights if they could earn it and prove they could live on their own, and many, especially Slum ones, decided to leave Kumen for Geyze, going "Native" as the Kumens called it. This led many on Kumen to begin to question treatment of Fauna, something that has been put forth every year but no real progress has been made. Many pointing to the Fauna that runs the Nue-Age Corporation as reason that things are fine. The number of Fauna killings against their masters/owners seem to be on the raise lately. ---- The Cat Fauna Based off cats of all kinds and sizes, the Cat Fauna can look like just about cat you can imagine. Their hair color, size, and appearance can be based on just about type of cat that existed, as well as some new breeds that the scientists made up when creating the Fauna. Cat Fauna are known for their playful nature and being unable to resist pawing at the air and going mew alot, and having low attention spans. They love colorful things and enjoy working jobs that let them meet new and interesting people. Catnip is like a drug to them and they will get high on it, being known to get horny after all and this has led to many incidents and arrests of people using it to abuse them that was not their owners. Some, also, are known to have quite the sarcastic streaks, which are chalked up to be catty. They can cut people down with their observations and seem aloof, talking in low keys, but most are easily distracted with jingling noises. As far as mating goes, they can be designed not to be able to breed for those who wish to have a Cat Fauna for Companion purposes. They naturally go into heat every year twice a season and need help to get out of it. Drugs can fix this just as well as anything else. For Cat Fauna who can breed, they are compatible with most races, especially Werebeasts and Humans, but Daemon, Aurit, and so on. Listed below are the classes they are good at. ---- The Fox Fauna Based off foxes of all kinds and sizes, the Fox Fauna can look like just about any fox you can imagine. Their hair color, size, and appearance can be based on just about type of fox that existed, as well as new breeds that scientists made up when creating the Fauna. Fox Fauna are known for their curiousity and mysterious behavior. Some of them can be wild and playful, enjoying playing tricks and games with people and are often seen not so much at resturants but events that let them have a good time while others enjoy working with investigative forces, using their keen senses to help track and explore. There has been numerous cases of Fox Fauna Inspectors in the past. While they can fall into some of the same pitfalls of playful behavior like Cats, Fox Fauna are far more laid back and keen sighted. However, despite this, they also can be seen in various resturants now and again, as well as advertising, and serve as Companions for like minded people. As well as falling into sex jobs now and again in the Slums due to their exotic beauty. Their biting retorts though make it often for them to be last picks compared to Cat, Bunny, and Dog Fauna. As far as mating goes, they are much the same as Cat Fauna, being made the same way. Listed below are the classes they are good at. ---- The Dog Fauna Based off dogs of all kinds and sizes, the Dog Fauna can look like just about any dog you can imagine. Their hair color, size, and appearance can be based on just about type of dog that existed, as well as new breeds that scientists made up when creating the Fauna. Dog Fauna are known for their loyality and steadfast behavior. Some are considered a little dimwitted at times, but many are highly intelligent surprisingly and are paired with Fox Fauna on police investigations and Corporate Security Forces. Their sense of smell is fantastic and once they get something in their hands/minds, they can be singleminded about letting it go. One of the best Private Investigators in the Slums is a female Dog Fauna by the name of Giki, who is known to dig at cases and pick at suspects until she gets her answers and makes a good amount of coin doing it. Like cats, they can be hirewired into following their animalistic instincts, such as playing ball and chasing objects, which they have to be taught to overcome and take Exams to go into the fields the Owners want them todo. They also make great Companions for those who wish to have them as such, being known to be completely Loyal and never cheating in that area. They too make good resturant and shop mascots due to their exciteability and happiness at things, which can be catching. As far as mating goes, they are much the same as Cat Fauna, being made the same way. Listed below are the classes they are good at. ---- The Bunny Fauna Based off rabbits of all kinds and sizes, the Bunny Fauna can look like just about any rabbit you can imagine. Their hair color, size, and appearance can be based on just about type of rabbot that existed, as well as new breeds that scientists made up when creating the Fauna. Bunny Fauna are known to be cute and playful. They like to be touchy feely and eat a lot of food, encouraging people to join them. Having a lot of tics like real rabbits, that carried over, they are known to hop around and be excited about things, which makes them good at whatever sales pitch they are trying to do, or get parties together, which they love to do Clubbing. Many Bunny Faunas are encouraged into the dancing circuit because they make the best dancers due to their sense of timing and rhythm. Most are known for their great bodies and ability to eat a lot and burn it up with their movements, except when it comes time to have babies and they use the food to make a fine fluffing out. Bunny Fauna are the only who of the Fauna who's mating switch is not shut off since it's so hardwired into them and so Companions have to know what they are getting into, but the amount of times they actually can reproduce has been slowed down to once every other year since they live so long. They are known to love sex, and make the best sex workers of all since it is not traumatizing to them. Overall, they are known to be fun and enjoy company of many, but they prefer to have loyality to one person if possible. Many claim that there was a race similiar to the Bunny Fauna once, but there's no evidence to back this up. But even there was, they would just blend in. Mod Starting Capacity: 16 Unique Character Trait: Tails Each of the Fauna share the trait of Tails, able to do different things with it. Perhaps it is based off the Fauna being based off similiar races long ago. 1 Tail Move: Spiritual Fire (Sucks 2 Stamina from target) 3 Tail Move: Elemental Manipulation. They can manipulate the elements of their elemental core on their enemy if they share it for a time. 5 Tail Move: Allows them to heal damage +4 HP Damage 7 Tail Move: Going Native - Allows the Fauna to communicate with the Spirits to gleam information and truths otherwise unseen. 9 Tail Move: Can manipulate/control lesser tail Fauna.
