Session 67: The Resistance

Location: Terium

15 Years Pass. Ao marries the leader of the Illum and a prophecy is told saying a child will kill it's mother. The last five years have brought about dark changes. The prophecy seemed to be fulfilled, when Ao's body was found in a pool of blood by Lisa. The Suisen Empire was defaulted to become a part of the Illum. And following that, and the disappearance of Lisa, everything changed. Worlds were brought dramatically under the rule of the Illum. Many of the "old guard", the heroes from before, were hunted down and captured.

In the ashes, a rebellion formed. With Aya coordinating and James acting as the outward leader, teams of those who survived, and their children began to take up new roles. In a secret location, Aya and her team of "brains" work to coordinate the various resistance cells and develop means to fight the Illum. James and his band of fighter hold the spotlight by daring to take on Illum forces head on. Rosetta and her cell on Earth work to give the Illum as much trouble as they can dare.

Aya passes along information to James about a factory developing new weapons. His team infiltrates, attacking the facility head on. After a few strokes of bad luck and bad judgement, the team ultimately seems to have good luck when they're able to storm the place, set the explosives, and get out only with massive injuries. Wolf flies the group out at the last second with a stolen Illum shuttle (a definate prize) and they head to a Famfrit medic who patches them up.

When it seems she's discovered who and what they are, James attempts to woo her with his uterus exploding sexiness, however, he is snubbed. Their luck however, continues when the Famfrit volunteers to work with them, instead of turning them in.

10-605.6.7

Miyuki's group touches down on the once Cartel-held pleasure world. Here the group, mostly girls, strut their stuff in bikinis and look around. Finding that the Illum are all heading out to a spot in the ocean, they use Zephyr's ability to go without air and have her walk under the surface to find the base. Once found, they foxhole onto an elevator and head in. Here they find various clone Cheryls of differing ages being grown and trained by the Illum. They now have two priorities, find out if Cheryl is being held there, or any of the other old Guard, and destroy the facility.

Cassandra's group makes their way through Mega City, stopping at a cafe to get a jamming device meant to help them get past Illum scanners. Acquiring it, they stop to test it out and get everyone set up. Then, they pass the scanners and appear to have done so without altercation. Moving towards the store front reported to be the entrance, they pass a Clone Cheryl in her twenties, obviously a higher up. They too must now find out if Cheryl is being kept in the facility or other Old Guard members, and if they're really creating Dragoons, they must be stopped.

Session 69: Well LAID Plans

Location: Delerict Space Station

James' group gets back to their base and recieves a new mission to assault an Illum shipyard and take out it's nearby moning operations. Taking some R&R, the group settles in and introduces their new recruit to the base. Aya calls them up to get a report from them anf to inform them of their next objective, the Illum are buidling a fleet using a seemingly indestructible ore for their hulls. Aya needs them not only to disrupt the fleet, but investigate the mines that are supposedly producing whatever materials they are using. James plans a two-pronged assault involving a ground and station docking team. The group gets ready to go.

10-605.6.7

Rosetta's Angels meanwhile pass through security checkpoints and sneak into the Dragon Inc's labs by joining the tour group. After waiting for some time, and replicating tour passes, they are brought into the tour group and let into the building with a bunch of civilians. Following the tour guide, Rita, down, they are able to use her inattentions to sneak in on her passcod. Setsuna uses a well placed Kunai to wedge the door open as Rita passes through, allowing them to sneak after her, they enter the base and find a door labelled "Original Test Subject". They can see young versions of Cheryl being fondled and experimented on as they sneak through the halls.

Session 70: Pieces into Position

Location: Pleasure City

Touching down on the planet, James' group infiltrates the mining town to find a broken and despirited people, with the men in charge and the women relegated to submissive roles. The group gathers information on the mines formerly having been a sacred ground for the villagers and that the people are less likely to help them then James hoped. With two of their number sneaking around and spying, the group considers approaching the council of elders they learn about and seeking their help.

10-605.6.7

Miyu's Mighty Mites sneak down the halls through a foxhole. After passing through the mighty supernatural scanning device, which takes some debate on how to bypass, the group comes into a hall filled with door. Taking out a security guard in the nearby security room, Katrina jacks in while Ulieah guards her and the rest continue to explore. They find Mick, a man who's being tortured by the enemy, learning that have to decide what to do with the 24 Cheryl Clones and plan their escape, it seems their mission may be wrapping up.

Session 71: Memory of the Fight

Location: ??

Attempting to sneak in, Rosetta's group is twarted by a pair of Cheryl clone guards and taken down when members of the group refuse to work in tandem. Captured and jailed, the group is forced to watch as Fiore is executed before their eyes. Setsuna seems to break, telling them what they want to know, then picks a fight with Mem as one of the clones, Rita, serves them food, the ensuing struggle brings in Illum guards, and the group somehow overcomes them and frees themselves with Rita's help.

Just then, Ethia and Mars come crashing in from above on a rescue mission. Cassandra takes Fiore's body up above with Mars and Rita while the group tries to finish the mission. They overcome the guards this time and kill one while Mem tames the other, Haruki. Finding themselves in a cryo chamber they discover the DNA sample to be Cheryl's eggs. Consoling themselves that she might still be alive the group is trapped in the room by the Illum general and must find a way out as the cold builds, while up above, Cassandra comes face to face with a fully functional Cheryl clone.

Stardate: 10-605.6.10

Session 72: Mission Objectives

Location: Temple

Late at night, the group makes their way past statues and over rooftops into a temple area to lure in guards and get their armor. The group does a sloppy job, not used to subterfuge, but manages to get enough bodies to make the armor they need. However, when they sneak aboard a shuttle and it takes off, the Illum go on alert as they find the rubble within the temple. The group is identified due to mismatched armor, and manage to kill the Illum in the back of the shuttle with them, however, the pilot begins to seal off his area, starting to take them to another location within the shipyard. Worse yet, the fight blew a hole in the shuttle, the team must somehow stop the pilot and plug the hole in time.

10-605.6.7

Miyu's team encounter several of the Arcana-Cheryl dragoons, Zephyr's splinter group encountering Juni, a Spider-Power based Dragoon who they are able to convince to join them. Miyu's splinter group encounters Gemi, a guard Dragoon who seems to have a split personality, so powerful she can literally become a clone of herself and be in two places at once. The group converges after recruiting them and having Gemi send out a signal to the rest of the Arcana Clones, telling them something really interesting is in the hangar bay and they all have to come see. As Katrina, Iceheart and the others finish loading the clones still in tubes into the shuttle, dozens of others begin to come, alerting some Illum, possibly, that something is up. They were low on time anyway.

Stardate: 10-605.6.7

Session 73: Born Again Dragoons

Location: Freezer

Those trapped in the ice box find that they can escape by destroying the cold equipment on the ceiling. Gathering under cover, Setsuna and Rosetta take out the equipment, allowing the group to escape, though also opening the door to the outside Illum forces. Racing away from enemy fire, they take some punishment before getting away. What they find at the end of their passage is a lab, and an Illum scientist weilding a gun intended to vaporize the girls inside. Breaking the door open by overloading it's shields, the group leaps in, Setsuna setting a gun to overload, however, the firefight leaves the Illum running and one moving to a corner with a hostage.

Thinking a little too fast, Setsuna launches the overloading gun at the one remaining Illum, she's shocked when Haruki leaps into the blast area to save the last kid, and more shocked that the Illum himself didn't move. The blast rocks the room, seemingly vaporizing all three. The group shaken, are almost run down when the Illum Commander and three elites move in to attack them, just after the remaining Dragoons express disgust over them and flee into the vents.

Up above, Cassandra and Rita join forced, and Cassandra goes semi-kamakaze to take out the imposter Cheryl. The manage to overcome the obstacle, but at the cost of most of Cassandra's cyborg body and it's integrity. Still, the group heads back down to help the others. They arrive just in time to interrupt the Illum's efforts, blasting the enemies and unbalancing them so that the team can finish them off. Just as the group has a moment to breath, the base's self destruct is activated. Following a strange attack that saved Ethia, Setsuna and Ethia move back into the lab to find Haruki's body and a small Dragoon child, the two race after the others, and make it outside with Rita just as the counter hits zero.

Meanwhile, Miyuki's team finishes loading up the new recruits, several dozen Dragoons following the lead of a strong Death-based Cheryl clone. With Jumi and Gemi's encouragement, they board and begin to take off just as the Illum come down on them. With Ulieah's summons helping, the group is able to make it out of the hangar and the ocean. They pick up Iceheart and her girls and take for the skies, another of Ulieah's summons cutting a path for them. The summons are joined by Zephyr and Kasha once in space, and the team battles past attack ships and stalls just long enough to make it into Hyperspace.

After getting to a temporary headquarters, the group gets a message from Aya telling them to come to her base with the Dragoons. Deciding it must be important, they take minimal resting time before heading out to see her.

Session 74: Bringing Down the Sky

Location: Space Station

James' group tries to work fast to deal with their situation, however, they choose poorly when they go for sealing the shuttle over stopping the pilot. The shuttle is sealed, but taking out the pilot takes time and by then the enemy fleet is on alert. They barely manage to get through the fleet, and their shuttle seems all but shattered to bits when they get through. In order to prevent the shuttle crashing and the entire group dying, Caesura gives her life by spacing out creating a sound cushion.

Once in space, they find they have little time, as a tow ship comes out to collect the surviving cockpit they hide in. Needing to get the bomb in, they await James' orders but the situation seems too dire, he can't think up a strategy to get them out. Finally, he resolves to take the tow ship to hopefully escape. As Kay leaps out in space to board the tow ship, the fleet is alerted once again and brought back in. As it closes in, Hans takes the bomb and like a brave little piggy, sneaks into the base and sets up the bomb. As Hans escapes by escape pod (this is the stuff of legends), the team is scattered into space when the cables connecting the shuttle fly about wildly when it's destroyed with them on them in mid-climb.

Sent to drift in space, they're smacked by Hans' escape pod, the ground team moves to take in Hans from their own shuttle, and the team flares them down and boards. They find that their botched mission had one huge bonus, attracting the fleet to the station caused a majority of it to be blown up along with the station when the bomb goes off. As they get on, Aya summons them to her base, having important news.

Escaping the destroyed building, Mem, who didn't escape as fast goes flying out of the building. The team picks themselves up and gathers their wounded as Cassandra picks up a call from Aya. Setsuna intercepts a do-gooding citizen carrying the Dragoon child she was helping away by acting the part of the child's mother. She brings the girl back using smoke cover while Ethia revives Haruki with her powers. Picking up their wounded and in pieces gang, they exit through the sewers to a rendevous, where a team sent by Aya brings them to her.

With all three groups heading to Aya, they meet up on 10-605.6.10, where Aya escorts them into her base to the meeting room. Here, they find the Prime Cheryl, with Chii, Lorelei, Aurica and Taiga. She's come to find out what's happened to them, and to warn them of the even greater troubles to come.

Stardate: 10-605.6.10

Session 75: Reforging the Blade

Location: Oracle

Aya's unified group sits to talk with Cheryl and the Mizukaze clan. Cheryl fills them in on what has been happening and why they've been out of contact so long and warns them of a weapon soon to be implimented, a form of Amber that covers large areas and freezes people alive inside it. The group shares what they know with Cheryl and she decides to spend some time attuning herself with the clones to see if she can help them locate the Alternate Cheryl.

A team is sent out to the processing plant for the Amber, a station located on the precipice of a black hole. Using special Myria-Branded suits, the group bravely wears them, knowing the sheer danger of Myria's equipment counterbalances the insanity of a mission in a black hole. Heading into the system the team has to get in through an unconventional route, alerting the base. Climbing up past the gas filled chamber they landed in, the group fails to hide from a patrol and after a very haphazard ambush come out only minorly fried, the team's two stowaways, Lorelei and Aurica, fall back down the shaft as an explosion rips out from below.

While the station begins to fall apart due to leaking gas, a broken atmospheric system and failing shields, the group encounters a bread loving Illium woman who lets them past. Coming to a command room the group uses foxholes to ambush the commanders with gas and heads them off at the door when they try to flee, but not before the entire system can be set to come crashing down. Confident that at least the plant has been dealt with, the group shaves seconds as they gather info from the command center and get back on the shuttle.

Due to the time they take, the group has to use their suits shielding units well past the recommended time, some taking damage by either keeping them on or turning them off early, but they manage to clear the system alive and return to base, where they settle down to recover. There, Aya has news for them that Caesura lives, they now have a mission to rescue their thought to be fallen comrade. Cheryl, getting in tune still, makes a promise to Eclair Bennet that the girl at least, hopes Cheryl can keep, while James spends time with his famiyl and Chii inspects her youngest.

Session 76: Desperate Rescues

Location: Oracle

Aya sits down with Cheryl and the organized groups deducting where to send whom to do what. It's decided that they will act upon the information gleamed from bread-loving T to attack a production facility for the amber weapon, to be taken up by James' unit.

Rosetta on the other hand leaps at a chance to raid a prisoner base along with Miyuki's entourage.

James' unit is given possession of a lightjump-capable shuttle and quickly finds Taiga, the nine-year old child of prime Cheryl and Chii, looking over their shoulders literally. With the aspiring hero child in tow, they make their way to the asteroid of choice and after a trek across the barren surface, make a vie to enter the facility through an exhaust vent.

The other group in the meantime is ferried by alternate's Iceheart and after good-byes, enter lightspace, then discuss just how to catch a comet by the tail. Overtaxing the shuttle and using Miyuki's ever useful foxholing ability seems to be the option-- thus the mission gets underway.

Stardate: 10-605.6.13

Session 77: Intro Trouble

Location: Comet

HAving arrived on the surface of the comet, the group moves on after a taking a moment to take in the possible loss of Iceheart and her crew. The group treks along the surface and after deliberating, Ulieah brings up that the safest surface on a comet is on the back. As they head that way, they find a hole, going down it, they find a weakened wall. Cracking it open they enter a waste containment area and freezing one of the pipes going up, the group climbs through frozen dookie to a maintanence area. Here they find some Illium workers who they subdue due to one of the group, Elwyn, striking out after they hide. Taking them down, they ready to ask the one concious some questions.

Meanwhile, James' group is taken over by the glorious leader Taiga. She leads the group bravely into the maintenance areas, Wolf coming up with the idea of a distraction, Taiga races off the create one. It goes a little overboard, major systems failing all over the Asteroid Base, moving through the station labs, the group finds the area containing Caesura. However, it is a set of cells, quite a few cells in fact, that they must search on a ticking clock.

Stardate: 10-605.6.13

Session 78: Splintering Factions

Location: Lab Prison

Taiga's Mighty Warriors move through the lab-prison where they take down a generator and the Illium over Caesura. Freeing her, with the station blasting to pieces around them, they take the time to try and free the other prisoners, getting some out before the labs explode. Moving through the base they arrive at a hangar, and just before they're about to board a shuttle, a certain supposed master of stealth decides to talk and they are spotted by an Illium.

Boarding the shuttle, the attempt to get out before the shield on the hangar closes, before they are locked in with an army of Illium, but to no avail. Setsuna fires up the weapons, despite the warnings inside the hangar and the shuttle not to fire inside, seeing no smart way to disable the power to the shields, she fires at the couplinks themselves and everything goes white. The group awakens in a damaged shuttle, drifting towards the sun, but as Setsuna puts it, hey, they got out... right?

Meanwhile, Miyuki's group decides to take the prisoner along with them, who appears to slowly grow a death wish as she's forced to help them. Able to find their way into a security room, they take out the guards and have the engineer with them unlock the system to get at information. They find a number of prisoners they care for are being kept here, Dawn Alligheri, Angela Bennet, Leyaeh Cridhe, Marshall Deblin, and others. Seeing several routes into the cells, Rosetta sneaks off to make her own way in while the others are kept busy when Kasha goes into a tirade over the Illium engineer's deathwish.

Once calmed, the group realizes she's missing and must choose where to go next, finding a checkpoint pass among the guards, weapons, and some other items, Miyuki decides that they will try and pass the checkpoint. Kasha gets a brain melt while Lorelei injects the Illium language into her head and the group moves on, choosing to not using the Sewers route also offered them.

Stardate: 10-605.6.13

Session 79: Alternate Rescue

Location: Asteroid Prison Base

Floating in space, James' team of mighty warriors is caught helplessly drifting towards the nearby sun. After devising a plan when they see shuttles vacating the station, the group gets the help of their Illium prisoner who is able to use a unique power to resture shuttle systems. Mem and Haruki bond so they can exit the shuttle in mech form. Grappling with an escaping ship, the group pulls them in. A surface firefight breaks out outside the ships and when it's resolved, the group has attained a greater vessel. Mem and Haruki having gotten inside the enemy vessel and neutralized the threats.

In a desperate gambit to escape the sun's gravitational pull, the team agrees to try a dangerous point blank Hyperspace jump, which frees them and allows them to head home.

On the Comet Prison, Miyuki sneaks her team into the cells playing the part of a guard. The group seems to get through to the secure cells just fine before making a mistake, triggering alarms. In a desperate attempt to free the prisoners, Miyu opens a statis pod, killing an NPC. After figuring out how to disrupt the power, Kasha along with others lift the crystal powering the devices and the team helps the prisoners free. Ulieah's Summons join Zephyr and Miyuki in Mech form, and Rosetta's wild fire in fighting off the guards as they free Leyaeh, Fey, Del, Angela and Dawn.

When they look to be overwhelmed, the group is teleported to safety aboard Iceheart's ship, and once everyone is aboard, including their Illium Engineer prisoner, Iceheart brings the team home.

Session 80: The Cheryl Factor Part 1.1: The Alternate Cheryl Hunt

Location: Oracle

The group united meets for a special mission. Another base has been located nearby Earth on Mars which seems to hold most of the VIP Prisoners, with a strong possibility of Cheryl there. As well, the group needs to use this chance to get Cheryl near the Reality Crux Point where she can change the timeline of the reality to a crawl compared to Prime, giving her the time needed to bring in help.

The team formed to get into the base and free the prisoners is the Inflitration Team: Cheryl, Haruki, Lorelei, Cass, Kay, Cae, Setsuna, Leyaeh, Mick, Qua, Del, Marshall, Rosetta, Dawn

The team formed to cause a ruckus if necessary and give the Infiltration team time to do their best and rejoin them is the Extraction Team: James, Zephyr, Myria, Iceheart, Wolf, Hale, Taiga, Aurica, Mars, Ulieah

The teams set, they board a medium sized ship captained by Iceheart and her crew and set off into the Sol System, where the Illium are at their strongest. Sneaking through the system using an Illium computer made to make scanners and watch devices think they are Illium, they successfully navigate to Mar's moon and drop off the Infiltration team, moving off to ready themselves to deal with the Illium Station at the Crux point.

What they don't see is what the Infiltration Team sees, a strange, black, alien nest grown out and around the prison, the product of experiments. Cheryl and her allies are about to find their way through a nest of mysteries, pun intended.

Stardate: 10-605.6.22

Session 81: The Cheryl Factor Part 1.2: The Nest

Location: Stealth Ship, Extraction Team

Coming out of atmo, Iceheart's ship is hailed by an Illium vessel that noticed them. Myria sets up the translator device and uses Mem to attempt to create a story, however, James intervenes when the Illium on the other end seems in doubt, cementing that doubt as his voice causes the translator to go funny. The group is forced into combat, using the lowered guard of the Illium vessel to take out it's communications, Wolf on the guns.

Quick examination finds a sweet spot under the vessel and a charge shot takes it out. The charged shot seems to disrupt their camoflauge for a moment, something to remember in the future. The group then makes their way to the Luna colony to scout things out. Here they see some strange new ships, and an unmarked station. Deciding to investigate it, they close in on the station, this time with a story prepared, they weave a tale of how they were survivors from the station they blew up, coming to report.

The Illium seem to buy the story and draw them in, docking the ship and coming out to inspect. The group needs a plan quick to keep their story believable, or the plans are going to get very messy.

Meanwhile, back on Phoebes, the group awakens after being blacked out to find the ship wrecked and Haruki missing. Oh yes, and the ship is being stalked by slithering tentacles. It tries to grab Lorelei, causing people to fight, and Leyaeh to overreact, taking herself and an unconcious Isara to leap out. She thinks she's going to gain some ground and cut up some tentacles, but the mass is so big it easily overpowers her and the kitties are carted off away from the group.

The group then works together, burning a path through the dark tentacles in the direction the two were carried off, hoping to find them and Haruki. They cut their way into the infested base and find a security room they can seal themselves in. The monitors show them the prisoners being transferred, Cheryl being one of them, and Prime Cheryl's senses hone in on Haruki, who seems possessed of the tentacles. They also find Leyaeh and Isara being consumed.

Fighting their way back through the halls, the group gets to Isara and Leyaeh, recovers them, and moved back to the safety of the security room to regroup and to plan out getting Haruki and stopping the Illium from leaving with their prize.

Session 83: The Cheryl Factor Part 2.1: Paving the Way to Lunar

Location: Illium Ship

James' unit is led off the ship after half the group hides away in a smuggling hold. Wearing Illium armor, they are escorted into a room and sat down with two commander types who ask them why they're there, and then ask them, namely Wolf, to remove her helmet. Wolf tries to play it off like she simply doesn't feel like it and the commander reveals he knows that they are spies. The room is locked down, and James bluffs, using the truth, in a way, he pretends they are a group of deserters with information to sell.

James' bluff leads them time to think and after getting the guards to come in to try and shut James up, the group gets into a fight and starts working on an escape plan. As they move out, they head to the core of the base where they find a sort of black hole core. Working to set up charges, the group readies works their way out of while planting them when a mech riding commander comes after them. Working together, the group sets the final charges and pushes the commander into the core, escaping, they meet up with Aurica and Mars, who did a little hacking of their own with Myria to get the station's data.

Boarding the reclaimed ship, special thanks to Iceheart and the others left behind, the group attempts to escape with a somehow surviving Commander Joch at their heels. They escape just in time, managing to push Joch away and into the blast as they go. As they move away and try to return to being incognito, they come across a larger black stealth ship. Some of the group thinks it's the enemy, some friends, but strangely, neither answers their hails. As they close in, the ship begins to open fire on them.

Stardate: 10-605.6.22

Session 84: The Cheryl Factor Part 2.2: Orbital Crisis

Location: James' Ship

The ship was indeed not friendly, as it continues to batter into the group's ship, they desperately try and come up with a plan, only to be boarded and stunned. Cheryl's group arrives in time to see the enemy ship taking their allies aboard and they try to think fast. Cheryl seems to accidentally blow up the enemy ship with the others inside it, however, a heart stopping moment reveals the ship to be intact after the Illium are blown away.

Brought on board, the teams are reunited and a new plan is put together, still needing to find the sweet spot between the Earth and the Moon, the group splits into three teams, one to destroy the Orbital Elevator, one to destroy the Sol System shipyard, and a third suicidal team to accompany Cheryl and Chii to the sweet spot to sneak in and change the speed at which the Alternate Reality's time flows.

James leads a team down to Earth, where they are able to sneak into the loading platform, take out some guards, gather explosives and even load them onto the elevator. The group, surprisingly going off without a hitch, however does have a slight snag in drawing some extra guards which they deal with quickly. Back in space, Setsuna launches her part of the mission, leading the raid on the shipyard, after Cheryl, Chii, Rosetta, Dawn, and Hatchi slip off on a shuttle to head to their destination. Noncombatants heading into a shuttle as well to keep safe, the ship is taken towards the shipyard.

Stardate: 10-605.6.22

Session 85: The Cheryl Factor Part 2.3: Slow Down

Location: Orbital Elevator

James' mighty warriors ride the lift up to the inner station, where they are asked why they are there and James nearly blows the mission by claiming that they are carrying dishes. Taiga's worry is so great that Cheryl deviates from her mission and draws the entire station's attention. The group is able to pass the guards and head out to the walkway to the still in construction outer station. The fighting outside causes the walkway to collapse, and the group is just barely able to pull themselves inside, readying explosives in the thankfully abandoned station.

Setsuna's group docks and Setsuna has all those who can't or won't get into a suit hide. Things go well at first while maintainence workers come aboard for repairs, but things quickly go south when they discover the wounded in medical. Forced to take out the remaining workers, the team has to fool and stall the enemy until they can load explosives into the station's engineering, taking a gamble, they leave the explosives with some deterrents and blast their way out of the station.

As this goes on, Cheryl is dogfighting the enemy, ships scatter about and try to take them out, Dawn and Hitachi having to pilot the ship and avoid shots while Cheryl changes the flows of time for the reality. Just as she finishes, the groups outside witness the explosion of Cheryl's ship. Aurica, in her grief, awakens her reality powers and speeds time backwards for the ship, knowing where the enemy are going to be, Setsuna coordinates a strike and the two teams are able to save Cheryl's ship the second time around. Leaving behind a blown station, an exploded shipyard, and a changed reality, the group heads back to base to reunite a lot of shattered families.
