Stardate: 10-593.9.10

Session 268: Return to Tareh

Jean's group, with a small number of volunteers: Miyuki, Isis, Mem, Peter, Kumiko and Ash, travelled back to Tareh.

Date: 5.1.2390

Appearing in the PAX, the group finds out that nothing manufactured in the past can survive in this time, all the gear and items they sent, and the past team's equipment is gone. Ash slowly deterioriating is sent back through the portal to report.

Met by Parita, they are guided to a tram and given the power cells they need to Ulieah. She leads them to Autumn's chambers, where Kaelan and Mara are already there, attempting to cut a deal with Autumn to feed the nations of Navarro and Nuege. Miyuki, sensing a familiar presence behind a wall, forces her way past Autumn and into the shrine to find the not-alive body of Amaterasu. Enraged by this behavior, Autumn decides to withdraw from Nuege itself, stating all her deals are off. An angry Kaelan draws her sword and marches into the shrine after Autumn claims that ressurecting Ama will doom Nuege.

Jean steps in Kaelan's way, and is able to talk Kaelan down from drastic action, and by Kaelan's pleads, talks Miyuki into holding off on ressurecting Ama until they have more information. Kaelan and Jean send Aschae to stop Autumn leaving and talk to her, and thanks to this, they are able to have one last meeting with her where Miyuki makes peace and at the very least, secures a ride home for the past visitors sometime in the future. Autumn however, does withdraw to reconsider her stance on things. Feeling defeated, Kaelan guides the team back to Nuege.

Date: 5.5.2390

Taking them through the town and into the palace in... relative secrecy, Kaelan gives them all rooms and settles them in, Sia greets them and pounces Jean, and Aschae comes to meet El, back again in a new body. While everyone catches up with loved once, Jean is set to consider her next moves, and how she will approach this coming war.

Date: 5.6.2390

Session 269: Difficult Decisions

The group meets at breakfast the following morning and find themselves treated to a giant feast. Many take this time to enjoy the rich food of royalty and enjoy themselves, Mira however takes this moment to ask why, in the face of famine, are they eating so well. Kaelan explains first that the food they are eating is mostly made up of the foods that are easier to obtain, such as all the fish and sea creatures, while grains and other long term stores are being put away for the long haul. Mercy then gives her reason, this is possibly the last time they will ever be together as a group, and she wanted to celebrate that moment with her friends, many of whom she might never see again.

After finishing the meal the group discusses what they need to do, first and foremost, especially with the famine and melting Nuege, they must investigate the Terrafoming equipment and see what they can do to turn it to the favor of Tareh's people. Utilizing a Fox-Hole from Miyuki, the group is able to delve deep into the core of the world, where they find the machine, Tsukiyomi herself tied to it and being used as it's life force. The machine is guarded by strange crystal armored creatures, whom the group attempts to sneak around, but eventually finds themselves needing to keep busy while Isis secures a datapad. They manage to get the datapad, but only after Gartareh is alerted and comes down to join the party himself.

The team barely makes it out in one piece, several severely wounded in the process of escape, Jean has to form a Mark with Miyuki to give her the power to Foxhole out, and the last words they hear from Gartareh is a question towards Miyu. "Why would you seek to destroy what you created, m---" Leaving with that disturbing line, and the question of what else he's going to say, the group is left reeling at his recognition of Miyuki.

The group also learns something important during the battle, confirmation that only the Dragoons can harm him when Mem and Seth attack him at once, an arrow into his back doing nothing, while Mem's glaive cuts him. This brings to the head why the Anime and Demon Blades exist, they may be the only hope of defeating Gartareh. The team must now prepare for the end of the war. But... is it truely the end, or do greater and more terrible dangers wait for them when Gartareh is defeated, what will the cost be for the freedom of Tareh?

Date: 5.9.2390

Session 270: Perperations for War

Mercy has her child, Sia figuring out that it's overdue and in need of help in time to save it with Jean's help. The child is named Arethia Di'neer, and her birth seems to put stability back into Kaelan. While Mercy recovers, the group decides upon what they are to do, after settling on the fact that direct battle with Gartareh is impossible until they are stronger, Kaelan suggests every team member consider wrapping up their affairs, using that time to grow and prepare for a bloody final conflict.

Noting that killing the Gods is killing Tareh, Isis sets to finding a solutiion to releasing Tsuki and Peter calls on the past team returning home to deal with their own problems while this all happens. After people make their requests, they gather in the throne room and call on Autumn, who agrees to bring the team to the portal. Whisking them away, they say goodbye to Autumn and step through the portal, returning to the present.

The remaining Medival team helps Jean determine a path to travel as she assigns missions for them to do and solve problems, the first two dilemnas being Mia and Charles, missing in the Church Capitol and finding Aurica for Umi. After stopping at the ruins of Autumn's castle for Leruste to say goodbye, they set off for Islen to attempt to find a stone to take them to Gartareh's castle in the future, as well as save Mia and Charles.

Session 272: Family Ties Part 2

The heroes continued their investigations. Mira was unable to charm her mother, however, she was able to get the truth out of her. They learned here that Jonathan Morrowind and his sister are behind the dark energies being gathered, later, they would be informed also that Jonathan Morrowind has been attempting to bring something into Tareh from another realm. Confessing that she simply couldn't live the life her father would have made for them.

After this confession, she helps the group escape via a secret passage, just as Aschae and Parita are able to sense out both their sister and Mia inside the mansion. The group leaves, meanwhile, the others meet up with Belit and Narok, escorted by Revi. After learning her father is in the docks, Belit rushes to see him. Captain Atmosk is not pleased to find his precious little girl pregnant, however, his fatherly threatning of Narok is interrupted by Wyrd, who steps in to punch the man. This allows Libet the ability to rally the pirates against the group.

Sanity is only reached when the Captain recovers and demand both sides stop. He then demands his fatherly right to test Narok as a future father. The two agree to stay with Captain Atmosk on his ship, parting ways from the group. The groups gather back up at the inn where the piece together information. Crim tells Revi to take Charles to Ulieah AI, acknowledging their right to stay out of clear and present danger. Revi agrees, and the rest of the group makes plans, most heading out to the remaining Templar structure where the Godstone must be held. A small number heading back to watch over Amara's mansion, Mira, Parita, Crim and several others while the rest head out.

At the temple, Libet steps in and informs the hiding Templars that the Angel is coming. Keen on profit, that one.

Date: 5.13.2390

Session 273: Severing Ties

The heroes investigate the Templar location in order to find the godstone, going deep into it's bowels they find the very place where the Archbishop fought them and died using the Holy and Dark runes. They recover the godstone and Truth carries it out, as they begin to emerge, they find 40 Templars awaiting them, and Sally Vimes at their head. A battle breaks out and the team shows their strength, starting to quickly overwhelm Sally. Sally however, boosted by the rising Dark energies, fires off an attack that collapses the building around the team, burying them alive.

Bel on the Pirate ship feels the disturbance and Jean's panic, and is faced with a terrible choice, she must defy her own father to go and help, and without much consideration otherwise, does just that. She and Narok jump from the boat as Libet begins to set sail and the two race off, Bel riding Bear-Narok. Crim meanwhile, with the mansion watching team, splits off from them and sends them into the starting ceremony as he goes to check on Jean's team.

The team, buried and running out of air, manages to get a hole open to the outside where Sally announces she has Ty and for them to send Seth to 'a place where he once acted with honor', then leaves. The team is recovered by Bel, Narok and Crim and reunited, head into the mansion after the others, joined by Nephilim, Seth and others who were on Ulieah as it's brought in to help.

Heading down into the basement, once joinining up with Rachael and Mira, the group finds a ceremony underway, Parita in place chanting and waiting for a moment to strike as they find Aschae's sister isn't one of the conspirators, but one of the sacrifices. Mia stands with the Morrowinds, seemingly unaware of their presence and there to gain power from the ceremony. Just as the Morrowinds are about to sacrifice, the group interceeds and after a terrible battle, the lives of Jonathan Morrowind and his sister are ended, and Aschae's mother captured.

One final job is left as Seth and others head out to join up with El in the hunt for Ty. They arrive at a gaurd house and find Ty to be perfectly alright. She tells them that Sally is waiting in the next room for Seth, and is dying. Seth steps into the room and has a tearful farewell with his sister, she asks him to bury her in Navarro and as she dies, calls him an idiot as she has always done. He takes her bones back to Ulieah, and during this time, Libet is brought to Ulieah as well, and placed as a captive along with Aschae's mother. The group takes to the skies, heading to Navarro to put Sally to rest, and closer to where Jean thinks she will find Aurica.

Date: 5.15.2390

Session 274: Ties to Die For

The team stopped over in Navarro to bring Anara back to the city and lay Sally Vimes to rest. After settling in at the castle for the night, Seth gets wind of a group of serial killings which match the mode of operation for a man he himself killed years ago. Sneaking out to chase the lead he's joined by Leruste and Bel, who help him follow the tracks from the scene of the most recent killing to a Candle Shoppe.

Here they are tricked, Seth falling into a trap and someone taking him, Bel and Leruste track him through a sewers and are joined by Aschae at the end of a labrynth section. The three then move on and feel Seth being tortured, Parita joinign them quietly as they near their goal. Under a butcher shop they find a Carcer cutting up Seth, and together they free Seth, then as a full group, they take the man down and behead him.

Turning in proof of the killer, the group arrives back home, bathes, and sets to rest, Leruste sneaking out to check out an alleyway that Seth previously cautioned them not to go in due to a curse. Here he finds the alley is actually the private road entrance to the Vimes estate. He and Parita are able to uncover documents on Seth's family, Seth's parents armor and swords, and after Parita leaves, Leruste finds a hidden place holding the same murder knives as Carcer and a shrine dedicated to Manus Dei.

Seth doesn't seem to know what to make of it, many answers of his family held in the documentation, but one final mystery lingers due to that shrine, about his family's possible link to Carcer and Manus Dei.

Session 275: J vs. A vs. L: Godwar

The team caught up to Aurica, Jean questioned Aurica's motives and attempted to get her to join the team in order to start mending old wounds and to heal Umi's broken heart. This erupted into an intense fight as sister and sister faced off in a barrier when Lorelei's personality came into control of Jean. The fight however, was broken up as two new combatants entered the ring. Brony appeared to break up the fight as the strange general that the team encountered in the Glittering hopped on top of the ship and started attaching something to it.

The mystery person was none other then Lorelei, the body at least, and the team faced off against her while trying to deal with the attached device: a bomb. Umi takes heavy damage attempting to eat the bomb blast while Jean's neck is broken after Lorelei is critically injured and the team tries to put her back together, Lorelei bursting awake and attacking. FInally, able to control Lorelei with a Halo Ring, the team ends their fight and the healers give their all into healing Jean, who stood at the brink of death.

The team travels towards Nuege, planning to drop off several guests, convene in the Mark to talk to the Lorelei inside Jean, and persue another team mission, looking into Kit'suun.

Date: 5.20.2390

Session 276: Hidden Fox Village

The team shuffled up a bit after arriving at Nuege. Jean begins Mark Increases and Kaelan's leads to a vision of an outpost nearby where her instincts tell her Kit'suun must be. Crim and Aschae, along with several others stay behind at Nuege, while Zeal and Kaelan join the roster, Zeal having just had her new child, Barry. Travelling over several days to the wastes, the team finds the wastes are swarming with demons and monsters, Gartareh making an announcement that until the Angel is taken in, more will continue to flood Tareh.

Taking note of Gartareh's new scorched Tareh policy, the team looks around and Kaelan notices a strange fog covering a valley, the readings of creatuers dwelling within saying none. Bel pilots Ulieah into the fog and the team finds a fenced in area. Heading in they find a deep, thick forest and following Kaelan's feelings, soon they find the burnt and abandoned village of Kit'suun. Here both Kaelan and Rose begin to have flashbacks, slowly guiding them, Rose hides some cloth found by the river in shame, holding dried blood, while Kaelan finds, after following some clues and statues, with El's guidance of course, the chest from her dreams.

Inside is a shattered piece of the Rune Blade, and a journal written by Arethia Di'neer, outlining her life in the village, growing up, becoming a chief. Then the discontent of those who dwelled there, upset that the main bloodline of the village, that of Freyja is gone, and Arethia's in their place. When Tam Di'neer finds the village, injured from battle, their rage grows. This rage weakens the barrier to the village, one built on the principal of love. When Kaelan and her sister were born, Kaelan's humanity was the last straw, many leaving the village and weakening it entirely. This allowed the Hand to enter the village, to attack and seek out Tam Di'neer and others.

The Hand is revealed to be Rosetta herself, though she was controlled by the device, the man with her not her subjurgator, but her puppet. At this time Rosetta remembers as well, her scream of horror breaks the enchantment around the village. The group is forced to flee with the Runeblade and fly away, Rose wanting to find out the truth of who she is and why she exists. Kaelan, completely forgiving her for her past actions, agrees to help her.

The journal reveals other things, like that Zeal's mother and Tam were deeply close, and the way he left Oas and returned seem to indicate something else that may connect Kaelan and Zeal in a way they never imagined. They headed to Sinai, where they intend to get some answers about Rose and her past, before heading back to Nuege. During this time they have infiltrated into the city and now rest in Ruun's Thieves Guild, where Aschae and Kaelan attempted another Mark Raise where Rose was pulled in, with rather interesting results in helping Rose become stable and healthy once more.

Session 278: Bloody Roses

The group at Nuege hosts a party to spend time with Phoen as promised, the akwardness however, encourages Phoen to want to leave, until Crim intercepts her and charms her into staying and sharing more. Lenneth exhibits an increasing tiredness as the barrier over Nuege and Navarro begins to wane, she asks Aschae to join the group in Sinai, and to use their mission to attempt to find a means of reinforcing the barrier.

In Sinai, after Aschae has joined them and the group is settled, Ruun gets word of a mysterious child killer going by the title The Desert Rose. Alarmed and frightened for the children, Zeal sets off to find the killer and bring her to justice. Intertwining their missions, the whole group heads for the Church in order to ge their answers, Zeal for the murderer, Aschae for the barrier, Kaelan for Rose's sake and Bel and Narok seeking answers from Yeger on the status of their child.

They are joined on the way by Niles, a Templar who does not believe in the evilness of Zeal. He gets them into the church and there they find their friend, Bishop Gyro and another man, Pyro, entertaining children. The floor gives way and the children are snatched up, the group and Niles giving chase. They find themselves in the bowels of the abbey, where two children are killed in the pursuit, however, they catch up with the Desert Rose in time to save the other five. The Rose turns out to be a Demon, the very same one that mimicked Zeal's mother and attacked Oas.

While the group fights her and her poison gas attacks, Truth heals Niles and Kaelan guides the children to safety, only to find Rose is missing. After Zeal and the others dispatch the demon for good this time, she drops half of a locket, a keepsake from Tam Di'neer given to Zeal's mother.

The team splits up, some heading back above to look for information in the library, some approaching the Abyss where Yeger usually resided. Those below make their way through spiders and a sacrifice door and into the nether, where Di'Mantha awaits them, she points out Narok, insisting she's found Yeger, but Narok taunts her. Di'Mantha declares she already knows where Yeger is, in the newly born Finn and makes her way out, tossing the group towards the Abyss. They barely get out and try to warn Jean of what's coming.

At the same time, Jean and the others read about the Hand and what their true purpose and origins are, and about the control code that can be used to resume control. Hearing yelling, they run to where they saw Gyro and anotehr bishop arguing and find that Argo is using Rose to try and kill Gyro. Kaelan distracts Rose while Aschae kills Gyro, Truth saving a paper with the code on it, she releases Rose from control, once and forever. Gartareh however, begins to demand Yeger brought to him or he will destroy Sinai.

The team works with the group in Nuege, and they convince Phoen to maintain a shield in Sinai, sending over the machine, then Phoen, the activate the shield just in time to expel Gartareh, Amazo and Di'Mantha, saving Sinai and all the lands as far south as Oas. Gyro is left to start the reformed Church, and the group makes their way back to Nuege.

Date: 5.23.2390

Session 279: Lucky Ducky Tie

Lucky and Lit got married, and Lucky was given the challenge to wear the ancient Duckie Tie for 24 hours to ensure a fine marriage. The animals of Nuege are outraged by such an affront to style and try several times to attempt to get rid of it. As Lucky battles the forces of cutie kind, Jean is altered to Meis Elves in the city and goes out with a group to meet them. She questions them about the event she witnessed in her last mark increase, they seem to know of the village she seeks and suggests they look on the north end of Meis.

With this sidequest to learn of Lily Erica, Jean's original self gained, the group heads back as the elements, a passerbyer and the question of sex challenge the Duckie Tie. Lucky eventually gets his wedding night and cleverly keeps it on as he does the hibbity dibbity with Lit. That night, as people settle in and Jean prepares for a Mark appointment, the Ghost of Jacob rises to battle Lucky and also fails to remove the tie, Lucky ensuring a long and happy marriage. If not a very stylish one. With one week till the possible battle with Gartareh coming up, people begin to make their affirmations, deciding what they will do with their lives if they live.

Date: 5.24.2390

Session 280: Subject Matter

Following a lead gained in Nuege, the group travels to Meis where they search for a village that matches the one in Jean's memories. They find it, and the man who attempted to rape Lily Erica three decades before, Tyrel, now married to Jean's sister, Tilly. Seth attempts to play a spirit Lily and accuses Tyrel of his crimes, causing a violent reaction in Tyrel which ends in Jean busting into the scene and sending Tyrel into a wall.

Jean reveals she is the Angel, and the look of fear in Tilly's eyes tells her that the relation between Lily and Tilly is long dead. Jean resolves that she is her own person, Jean, and only Jean, and walks away. Seth remains behind to scare Tyrel out of his wits and ensure that he never beats Tilly again. After which, the group follows leads on the other Meis resident of the group, Truth. What they find is simple, Truth is as her memories showed, a simple girl who stole food for the poor, got the attention of the wrong people and fell into the PAX. She had no surviving family, all wiped out by disease.

Truth resolves the same as Jean, but further stipulates that she does have a family: The Angel and her followers. Back in Nuege, Mark Increases continue as the group prepares for the final battle, Truth reaches the 9th and Aschae passes the test to become the 10th. The ultimate and only one mark that can be given out, she and Lorelei hatch a plan to guarantee the safety of Tareh and a future for it. But the price... is one that only the bravest or determined would ever be willing to pay.

Date: 5.29.2390

Session 281: Glittering

Miyuki steps through the portal with El's new body, accompanied by Peter and Hale as her escorts. When they step through, they find the portal going wonky and Autumn struggling to keep the PAX's defenses up, they appeared at the worst possible time.

The group convenes inside the Mark to make their battle plans. First they discuss whether or not they must kill Autumn to prevent her from trying to take rule, the group is largely against this idea, thinking there has to be a better choice. They then discuss the strategy, a suicide run on Ulieah to distract the gods while a team sneaks through the glittering and assaults the palace directly. Lucky volunteers to pilot and Seth stands up to the plate to help reinforce the ruse. The final part of the strategy is brought to light, Lorelei and Aschae plan to join power and uses Lorelei's abilities to violently reshape things in the heroes favor, this will guarantee no one can screw with the portal or the machines in the core ever again, and allow them to reshape Tareh. It comes at a cost however, Aschae and Lorelei will die in the process.

The meeting is cut short when outside, Aurica comes slamming through an ice wall, her neck broken. Down below, Cersei fights with Lorelei's body, reactivated by Gartareh, it smashes the shield generator and leaves Nuege exposed. This brings us to the time of Miyuki's arrival. A few moments after they arrive, Butler follows through and joins them. Autumn struggles to keep the PAX shielded as she has a servant lead the four and El's body to a Lightstone, where they head to Sinai, the last thing they hear is Cheiko being taken by Gartareh as Autumn makes a break for it.

The team rallies and heads into the basement, tackling down Lore's body, Lore is able to transfer Jean into her old body, nullifying Gartareh's control attempts, the move causes Lore, now holding Jean's body, to lose two fingers as Lore's body bites them off. The team cleanses the body and Jean takes control, while Rachael ressurects Aurica. The group has only a short while to rally and move, with the shield down, the attack must happen right away. They make their goodbyes and head out. As they ready to leave, Autumn informs them that Gartareh has taken possession of the time portal and seeks to use it to create a Time Paradox. The team learns that going into the Palace now is likely a one way trip, but most stay fast to their conviction to help.

While Jean and Lore's infiltration group heads up into the glittering, navigating their way towards Mars, the Ulieah team finds that Ulieah has had a malfunction and cannot launch. Mem and Katrina ready to face an oncoming Amazo as they deseperately look for an answer. In Sinai, Crim and Phoen have a make out session interrupted as the Prime visitors and Butler appear. Crim informs them of the situation and sends them on their way, going with them to guide them out of the cellar, where Miyuki's main objective, Ama, sleeps.

One team skips across the stars while the other gets ready to face the gods head on. The final battle for Tareh has begun.

Date: 5.29.2390

Session 282: Battle of Ideals

Crim arrives in Nuege with the travellers from the future and Butler. After hearing about an emergency nobles meeting, he sends Butler off to Ulieah to help them and heads to the meeting, Miyuki, Peter and Hale coming with. Here they find the nobles demanding that Mercy surrenders and steps down to save Nuege. Zeal and Sia are already there pointing out that such a move won't help with Amazo already set on destruction. A surprise for them all breaks out when the halfling attendant nearby Mercy attempts to assasinate her.

She is saved by Zeal's quick moves and armor under her clothes, some of Kaelan's. Crim heals her up and the nobility seems to get into a deeper rabble, demanding again that she step down. This however is broken up quickly when Amazo slams something into the castle, breaking it in half, people scramble to escape and one noble is killed. Everyone tells Miyuki to rush to Ama and revive her as they organize the evacuation.

On Ulieah AI, Butler arrives to fix the ship as Mem and Katrina step out to form a mech and take on Amazo head on to buy them time.

In the glittering, the group with Jean and Lorelei have to brace themselves during a space collision and then climb up to a building with a teleporter. Here they find McTreggor and Truth informs the group that Autumn is waiting. McTreggor tells them the truth of himself finally, that he was the original McTreggor who challenged Gartareh and lost, he was cursed to defend the Glittering and allowing any to pass would mean his line, which includes Revi, would die instantly. Forced to fight him and his power stealing sword, McTreggor uses the fight to teach the team teamwork and that only by using it will they stand a chance against Gartareh.

He dies as they coordinate and draw his focus, a lesson they will need to learn in keeping Gartareh busy in the final fight. They proceed after Gemane takes the sword and arrive inside to find Autumn waiting. She and Aschae debate over which future they invision to be the better one, and it becomes clear that there is only one way the conflict will end, in blood. Autumn forms a Super Anima with J and Z together and Kaelan and Mira summon T and C to oppose her. This leads to Lorelei and Aschae forming a Dragon Mech while Truth and Jean try out a lesser Mech form. The group is able to work together enough that they can distract Autumn and bring out openings, while Mira and Kaelan hold her in place, the others begin to attack the Anima Core.

Autumn dismisses the Animas to protect them and winds up taking the full brunt of the attack, defeated and dying. The group obtains the two Anima and Gemane's new sword lands it's blow, taking the Goddess' power from her. It explodes, injuring Gemane and shaking the asteroid they stand on, the group teleports to the next check point, where Aschae says goodbye, for now, to Autumn.

Session 283: Red Planet

In Nuege, the team on Ulieah scrambles Mem and Katrina clashing with Amazo as the castle starts to fall apart. The group manages to get Ulieah into the air and starts to fight him. Using a decent amount of power, the team manages to land a heavy blow on Amazo, only to find he heals as combat continues. El, realizing that Amazo is being powered by violence gives the team the strategy to get Amazo away from combat. Mem bashes into Amazo, rocketing him over the ice and away from the city. This causes Amazo to shrink.

The team is then able to keep him occupied, shortly beforehand, Miyuki, Hale and Peter are guided to Amaterasu's vault by Crim, who then has Nephilim, who meets up with them, send him back to Sinai. Nephilim takes El's body to El with Ruun's help, as Miyuki ressurects the goddess. Amaterasu steps out and leads the three out towards Amazo, where they meet up with the team. Upon hearing Ama, Amazo coughs up the silvery blood of a god and expels it from his system, turning over a new leaf quickly and acting like a troublemaking child. Ama has him return to Nuege and start rebuilding it, after dismissing the Templars.

Above in the heavens, Jean's group is stunned as Mars moves rapidly closer to Tareh, and them. Kaelan summons T and is able to use it to quickly rush them to the next teleporter. As they come out the other side, Mars begins to halt by Tareh, now very close to it. However, it's enough to pull the asteroid the group is on towards Mars' surface. The team works together using various elements and manages to control the landing, bringing the rock to the surface and surviving impact. They begin to head into place, readying to storm the keep. As Ulieah AI closes in on the planet at the same time.

Date: 5.27.2390

Session 284: The Angel Who Defied God

Ulieah AI was blasted through meteors as Butler steered them in towards Mars. Seth grabbed the guns in desperation as as they neared, they came on a dangerous pass through meteors and face to face with an Ancient Other Ship. Seth makes a fatal mistake when he overuses the cannons, however, with the shots and teamwork flying between Lucky and Butler, Ulieah gets close to the atmosphere of Mars.

Bailing out on the Hope, the group uses rope tricks, magik and intervention from Aurica's mech form to bring the Hope into the palace. That is, after fooling the Other Vessel into completely annihilating Mt. Gartareh above the Palace. Entering, the group is able to go deeper and they find Pheon's room. Here they find an Orb which seems connected to the Terraforming machine. Taking it causes panic in Sinai, Phoen's powers likely cut off. The group contines to take an elevator down, having left the Light Stone from Hope above in the Courtyard of the Gods.

Jean's team makes their way through a huge undeground vent system, coming across a large fan which blocks their path. Aurica and Aschae, with mana donated from team members, manage to alter reality enough to slow it down. Fast team members make it to the other side and turn it off. They come to a dead end, where Di'Mantha ambushes them by use taint left over in Jean's body. They are able to force the taint out and into the darkness that is Narok. Heading up towards the exit, the team raced against a foam trap that floods the vents. They come out in Di'Mantha's chambers.

The other team continues down and stops in Solstice's room, where they find weapons, armor, and the sacred panties of General Cheryl. After a bit of antics over the panties, the group heads down, finding they'er blocked from Di'Mantha's room. They end up having to trust in the abilities of the other team members and head down to the antechamber before the Throneroom of the Gods, here they wait for the final battle to begin as time and space begin to warp all around the palace.

In the distant past, the PAX makes it's final preparations for the Battle of the Black Holes, hoping their alterations and more then tripled firepower will change the fates for those they love, the ships ready to enter the battle as people settle their affairs.

Session 285: Dark Thoughts Lead to Dark Beginnings

Jean's team faces Di'Mantha's pet in the dark, working as a team they have to fight the beast and take it out, leaving them with Di'Mantha herself in their way. Learning that the beast they killed was named Muffin, a moment is taken for commentary as Di'Mantha reveals what she is armed with, the Emerald Sword. Using a series of followup attacks and joint defense, the team faces the woman holding the impossible blade, time after time they break her defense and force her to fold back, finally Mira gains hold of the Emerald Sword and turns it on Di'Mantha, a combination of blows with teammates destroys her utterly. The team recovers and moves off with her power orb and the Sword in hand.

The team makes their way back to the lift and down to the final level, where they meet those others who bravely came from Ulieah to aid them. They recount their stories.

Down below in Nuege, seeing the ever growing red planet in the skies, the remnants decide they must lend a hand. Zeal, Legretta, Nephilim, Ruun, Lit, Parita, Revi, Amazo, Katrina's kids use the Light Stone to teleport to Hope's, now in the courtyard of the God Palace. Appearing, they are surrounded by Elite Templars, who are taken care of quickly, considering the group now travels with the God of War. Some staying behind to guard, the rest move to the lift and begin to ride down. Zeal taking out three other God Orbs with quick arrow shots as they rapidly pass by them.

With the time distortions becoming ever more apparent, the three united groups take this time to divide back up, those going back to Tareh and those staying to fight. Seth parts ways with the attack group here, Zeal, Ruun, Nephilim, Legretta, Parita and Revi all planning to go back as well. All take a moment to say their goodbyes, which may seem to have lasted too long, but also in many ways too short. The leaving group heads back to the list, as the others turn to the door containing the Chief of the Gods. The kids waiting in the antechamber with Lit, the rest step in to do battle, teams of the past and future united.

The throne room is in a room that is impossibly large, and in view is the jury-rigged time portal machine, Cheiko stapped into it, suffering to keep it up. Jean rushes forward to help her, Truth following, and the two are caught in a trap, passing out from the pain of it. The wrongness of power increases and Gartareh blurs into view, knocking everyone out and pulling them into the trap. He turns to address Lorelei and Aschae, and blurs to know them out too, things go black.

Up above, the leaving team returns to the courtyard when the planet starts to move again, the palace shaking as Mars moves towards Tareh once more. Amazo attempts to slow it down with his mighty punches.

The team awakens tied up with energy coils, Gartareh standing with them all around him as he begins to explain who he is and his true purpose.

The story begins at the Battle of the Black Holes, launching against the Others, the forces of the PAX ready to face off with them. Luring them in close, Megumi's experimental weapon is implimented, and the black holes themselves used as fuel for an attack which wipes out a large portion of the Other fleet. Rescuing the survivors of the battle onto the PAX, both sides are forced to pause when the universe itself begins to shake. Where the primary black hold once was, pure darkness begins to swell, a hole in reality opens and the darkness comes out. It begins to destroy any ship that fires at it, Leyaeh screams for a ceasefire.

As they begin evacuating the last remaining people to safety of the observation ship, something else comes from the tear, a silvery essence. A crew member that wasn't lucky gets swallowed up by the silvery essence, along with the portion of Ao's ship he was in. It changes him, they are forced to watch Gartareh's birth, and the new creature float to the Others.

Garateh begins to justify his existance as the antibody to a disease, saying sparing people who have the capacity for the hate and fear that feeds the darkness is a kindness. He claims to be saving the universe, by wiping out the darkness and all who fuel it for future life, the team yells in rebellion against that idea. As he talks, he begins to drain their life forces, and Jean makes a critical move. Summoning the powers of her marked at the same time, she breaks free while Gartareh moves to execute Gemane. The team is freed by Jean and their powers restored. As the combat starts, the team works together to heal up Gem, and then things come to blows.

Gartareh forms wings with strange symbols and moves in on them, Lucky's arrow and Peter's kunai hitting home. Kaelan leads the attack by coordinating the group to use what they learned from McTreggor, each person using Gartareh's attempts to attack on to make an attack, getting past his guard and keeping him from concentrating on anyone. Eventually the team realizes to attack the spots on his back with symbols, he is beaten back for the first time.

Gartareh launches a mental assault, each struck with their greatest fears, attempting to fight them off, it's Hale who makes the first logic break, one by one others beginning to find fault with the illusions and using that, find themselves able to strike at Gartareh. Enough do so that Gartareh is beaten back for a second time. He then comes at them a third time, this time he attacks with Magik, the symbols appearing on pillars and the group having to destroy those symbols while avoiding his attacks. Gartareh is beaten down, Cheiko freed. Those with healing rush to help the wounded when Gartareh rises, his powers in flux, swithcing between modes. The group has to work in unison, several attacking barrier after barrier to give one an opeining, but soon they topple him down.

While Gartareh goes for a final hail mary, presenting Lorelei with a heaven or hell choice, the group beats him down and even stops his heart, which causes the terraforming controls to go haywire. Kaelan is forced to use her magik to preserve Gartareh's life while Butler attempts to work the machine. While they work, Lorelei and Aschae begin their final sync to unlock their powers. Butler finally gets consol, leaving Kaelan to end his life and destroy his body. The silver stuff shoots out of him, the blood tries to form into a person and infect othes, Truth managing to form a barrier to keep it at bay. The group gives Jean their power to deal the final blow to destroy him.

Lorelei and Aschae begin to unleash their power, Lorelei sends those from the past back through the gate, Katrina's kids joning them, Lit coming in as well, the reality bubble around the palace solidifying as a gap in time. Aschae gets her final wish, and the world below begins to reshape, reality changing to fit Aschae's vision and the time portal being taken care of. As their essence begins to finish dissapating, a pillar falls towards it, Lenneth intercepts it, nearly killing herself to stop it from crushing the essence.

Kaelan and Narok manage to lift the pillar off her. The time portal working to stabilize itself, the group sees time passing swifting around them. Hundreds of years begin to fly by, they all know in their hearts that they can never go back home now, time escaping them. The palace begins to crumble in on itself, lifting up Jean and Lenneth, the group heads through the tear together, the only way out.

The rest above teleport back seeing things crumbling, and below they join the others in Nuege, watching as the red planet breaks apart above them. Streaks of red coming in as parts begin to fall on Tareh. As if by some miracle, the Anima gauntlets suddenly appear, fully powered and enhanced beyond recognition. Sia dons D and tells the others to put them on, and all the Anima rise to meet and destroy the falling rocks, the Angel's people defending Tareh one last time.

Back in the past, the away team returns and the groups swap notes on what they encountered. Gartareh is finally identified as crewman Garland Michal. The groups begin to head home, knowing at least enough to watch out for in their own changing timeline, but also knowing they can not change anything just yet in terms of Gartareh.

Nuege begins to repair itself over the months, the damage of the attack slowly no longer there, and the ice magik realm not really a hinderance of cold, but one of intrigue and one that people come to practice. The Nuege Kingdom becomes a place of peace, Azuha, Human, and Elf come together there to live in peace, and there's even greenery and life. The Mage Order Sia establishes over the months becomes legendary, and they come to train and learn under her. Zeal's Knights become famous for their justice ,and many come to train. Even Gyro's Kingdom establish in Sinai in the center adhere to her skills and training.

Navarro soon lets it's resentments go under Anora and Mara, and become at peace with Nuege, the two allies growing strong together, and allies. The world constantly changing, with Elven and Azuha kingdoms slowly forming, and... much much more. With each day that passes, the world changes. Magik seems to power the world, and it becomes more medieval than ever, with only demons being the problem, and they grow and vericify. Ama and Tsuki and Amazo remain depowered, but they are respected and have strength above anything humans have. Especially Tsuki, being a moon goddess. As certain kingdoms rise, they are requested as dieties, as the gaps of the gods are... missed.

Two years pass since the Angel and Her Followers travelled through the glittering to the Palace of the Gods and killed Gartareh. Queen Mercy Di'Neer commissions a group of statues to immortalize the heroes who never returned from that fateful battle. Sia, perhaps seeing something, or perhaps simply to comfort others, constantly declares that they did not die, and may one day return to Tareh. Those left behind gather together outside the statues, laying flowers, children of parents who they have never met look up at giant statues representing them. Mercy delivers her speech, telling all not to greive, but to celebrate those who did not return, because due to them, the future is bright.
