Session 125: Encroaching Darkness
Location: PAX
After weeks of hard work, the special teleporter allowing the PAX and Cheryl's mansion instant access to one another even at amazingly long distances is complete. Both sides test out the teleporter with Cypher and, much to the surprise of both groups, Ako. The tests successful, Jennifer is able to use the teleporter to get to Earth quickly. She leaves Ethan Mor'kah, a new medical assistant in charge of the medical bay, as Carter is also leaving to go visit his parents. Jennifer, along with Alpha Zephyr and Megumi Zhenmei, take the teleporter to Earth. Jonathan Hale joins the military team and is given a tour.
There the Military Team is given a mission to escort Jennifer to a place where she is to meet up with her father, Warren Carmichael, freshly back from the dead and not a zombie. After making plans they head out to the meeting, sending Zephyr, Megumi, and Jennifer in an SUV to the site of an old Military Base. They discover Lorelei has snuck along in Jennifer's amazing melons as they drive along. When they arrive, they vanish in a cloud of dust, the others losing track of them momentarily from the shuttle they occupy.
The trio, with their brave leader Lorelei, follow prompting lights into a base and an office that looks like what Warren once preferred. There they meet Warren, who exposes them to the growing threat of Hermes, as well as having a brief reunion with his daughter and the dynamic duo. Something blips on the radar and Warren leaves, warning them to run for it. A missile streaks into the base, blowing it to kingdom come, but not before Tsukiyomi can teleport in and get them out. They unfortunately fail to find Tsukiyomi when they reappear, having had just enough time and energy to send them back without her.
Returning to the base with a devastated John and a catatonic Leira waiting for them, the team starts to debrief, Cheryl going over files that Jennifer was given by Warren. Cheryl sends Hale and Peter to Dias' room to check up on him, while the others go about tasks they were given. Peter and Hale wind up having to force their way into Dias' room when he doesn't respond, and they find a room littered with shit and trash. The room is covered in pictures of Tabetha and Leira, Tabetha's face crossed out and slashed at, and an image of Cheryl surrounded in lights.
Peter, seeing what the images mean, immediately warns Cheryl and races up to the mansion in search of Tabetha. The team finds Tabetha and Leira bound, paralyzed, with their clothes torn away, just as John and Cheryl get there to fight off Dias. The battle blasts into the back yard where Dias exhibits a full return of his Dark Energy powers, Peter, Hale, Kellin and Cheryl fight off Dias and save John, whom Dias tries to drown, before he rockets away in dark energy.
Tabetha, once brought around, cries out that X is in danger and the team goes to retrieve her from her room, finding her similarly bound. Hale, who ran into a bomb in Dias' room, cautions them of it, and the team runs out with X just as a poison arrow pierces her bed. The danger passed, and recovery beginning, Cheryl goes to brooding while the rest, for the most part, try to recover. Tabetha sits in shock and fright, as she admits she saw this attack in a dream.
Session 126: Visions of Darkness
Location: The Military Base
Dawn Alligheri dreams of people to die, Chii, Freyja, himself, Fiore, Rose, Elwyn, Eluere and Rin all on a steel tree of thorns, slowly sliding down the thorns to their ultimate demise. Tabetha's confused dreams take on sharp reality as she sees Dias somewhere, cold and becoming more and more of a monster, skin turning black, eyes glowing crimson.
It is the next day after the attack by Dias and the mood of the base has gone quiet and somber. Cheryl refuses to rest as she looks into things while those who have recently lost things suffer quietly. Tabetha sends Cheryl a recording of her dream via datapad and the team rises to meet the new day. Peter and Vodka try to reason out what happened to Dias, the only thing possible besides him simply turning traitor being psionic tampering.
Cheryl calls a meeting and the team gathers into the conference room. Their leader, already visibly tired from 36 straight hours awake, awaits them as they all gather round. Cheryl quizzes them, leading to a review on the history between VI and General Cran, leading to explaining to some of the newer members of the team of the realities, and the fact that the world actually began in 10-573. The facts, and the current evidence presented, don't line up however until the possibility that Tabetha is really having psionic visions of the future comes into play.
Due to her dreams about a man who resembles Alexander Cran, and due to some other elements within the dreams, Cheryl surmises that the enemy is in fact some male heir of Cran is about, planning to breed with Cheryl. While this becomes questionable, as there has never been a Dragoon with psionics before, Cheryl drops the fact that Tabetha had a psionic donor, solidifying the possibility. While they wait for proof to arrive, Cheryl organizes the teams into two missions, one to seek out evidence from abandoned VI bases, the other to seek out the location of Kane.
Back on the PAX, the bridge crew awaits a meeting with Theron's old squeeze while Jennifer greets Ethan on 1B, Ethan there to go on a date with Tamara, who's recently moved in for some reason. Naji appears on the bridge to inform the crew of something terrifying, the Erusian Ascendancy has completely vanished. Seemingly overnight all communications from the Ascendancy have stopped, and Theron has fallen out of contact, having gone there to look into some leads for Paladin.
Kellin, Billy, Elwyn, and Lorelei arrive on the PAX while Ethan takes Tamara out to an amusement park. Leyaeh decides to form a reconnaissance team to Erusia and calls up a list of people to go with her, Ao volunteering to go, Ethan, Rin and Justice also called into service. Ethan has to cut his date short and Tamara returns home, just as Billy and Elwyn get into 1B. Billy, sensing a Dark One presence, confronts Tamara at Elwyn's pressing and the two start attacking Tamara for answers. The sudden outburst brings out Jennifer who has to stand in the way and confess that Tamara is in fact, her daughter. After it's explained that Tamara is one of the kids from Jennifer and Athena's alternate reality, things seem to calm, and Xanatos extends a hand to Tamara as a grandfather.
Carter finds himself in luck when looking for a shuttle to his parent's home, as Isis has gotten her a private shuttle. As he goes to board, someone attacks him from behind and he blacks out.
Team Peter and Team Cheryl head back to base after Peter's team uncovers a database in a VI bunker pointing towards the weapons, and heavy evidence of it being taken from the base by unknown forces. Cheryl concludes that she needs to compare all the evidence with Warren's files and call in Katrina to test Tabetha for psionics. Cole, sent to check on a Gear factory which made new Gears with NGD technology, discovers that the signoff indeed came in Kane's authorization codes, and the material has long since vanished. Once back at the base, Cheryl assigns Peter and Hale to look into the odd pattern of recruiting female soldiers into the theorized Hermes faction, Cole to look further into Kane, and Tabetha to go with Katrina somewhere private for scans.
Session 127: Shadows in Darkness
Location: PAX
Ao readies a ship which takes Leyaeh, Ethan, Rin, Justice and herself, along with three brave Red Shirts off into the Erusian territory. There they come out to find shrapnel and ruin, the world they come to is completely deserted, yet strangely renewed. The Erusian Home world, known for it's depleted atmosphere is renewed, plants dominate the landscape, crystal structures brought to ruins. The team lands as they follow a distress beacon and find Theron, who quickly explains the situation.
They came suddenly, ships with wings, which destroyed the fleets and ripped apart the cities, they're still there, culling those who survived, taking them away. Realizing the danger they are in, Leyaeh and Ao usher everyone back to the ship, they take off with barely a chance of survival as an Angel ship bears down on them. Taking to space, they quickly find themselves outgunned. With their Hyperspace Engine damaged, the team maneuvers, through an odd link with Justice into the ship's computer, into the nearby asteroid belt, where they hide for repairs. As Justice fumbles about outside trying to help, Ethan begins to cough and sniffle, having caught the same bug he treated earlier.
While Lorelei, Ako and Iko play in 1B, having adventures that will forever bind them as best friends, such as torturing Drasek, the family in 1B relaxes. Jennifer looks up from reports in medical to get a certain sense of dread when Ethan's previous patients, children, show up with renewed Flu symptoms. Erevis awakens from a nightmare which seems to have shaken her to the core, now also having visions of the future.
Jennifer, after studying the virus, concludes that it's a mutating, cross-species and a threat, informing Xanatos that she will have to call for a quarantine of the ship. The Elder Erevis steps into medical and asks Jennifer to see her later for a check up and to deal with something else. She agrees and Erevis leaves. Xanatos and Erevis send Ako and Iko to Earth with Kellin, Billy and Elwyn, who take Bonnie and JM as well, leaving Pome and Berry in Erevis' care. Isis asks Megumi to visit her after dinner and her sexing of Zephyr.
Jennifer informs Tamara she won't be home due to the Quarantine and Tamara shadowports into Medical with food, choosing to stay with her mother. Xanatos announces quarantine to the ship, erupting the ship in protests and calls, which Aya and Dawn begin to handle. Jennifer begins to theorize something sinister behind this disease as the ship completely locks down.
Carter awakens in the back of a private shuttle, told he hit his head on the way in. Shrugging it off, Carter's attention is called to his family when he arrives, to hear that his father is getting worse. His mother invites him in to talk.
Both groups talk over holocomms to coordinate as they share information. Jennifer asks for Dr. Ferrah and Vodka's help with the virus while they all share information. Jennifer affirms her suspicions that the virus isn't affecting famfrit because Isis is part Famfrit, not believing that the enemy actually wants the 'Red Haired Goddesses' killed. Jennifer outlines her plan to attempt to mix Famfrit DNA into human and Atlean patients, and hopefully other races in hopes of stopping the virus entirely. Erevis finds herself outvoted in keeping her family close and the plan to send Ako and Iko down solidifies. Erevis reveals the reason for her fears, she has dreamed that she will soon sacrifice billions of lives to save untold others.

The Military Unit enjoys a little R&R, all but Cheryl, who seems to still be insistent on remaining awake till the universe's problems are solved. Peter talks to her, recommending R&R for her too, winning a point when she tries to write it off as Dragoons can go 48 hours without rest, Peter points out she's working her way to 72. It is now apparent that Tabetha is a psion, and she talks with Katrina, asking for more information of her father. Katrina agrees to look him up and take her to see him, to confirm if he's a psion.
Session 128: A Heart's Darkness
Location: Asteroid
Ao's brave group finds themselves near death when Angel ships begin to bomb their asteroid, Rin and Justice hook back up to the ship and use a blind jump to escape at the last moment. Floating in unknown space, the group awakens after blacking out to find they need 10 hours to repair the ship, and have 11 hours of life support. Leyaeh chooses to get sensors and communication up to reach the PAX, at the risk of alerting more enemies. They also discover that Ethan is cured of the virus, something in the jump seems to have removed the virus entirely from his system.
Ao uses Hyperspace to power the communications and Leyaeh squeezes out a message to Aya with their position and the data on the jump for Jennifer to look over. They have only one place to hide until the PAX can arrive, a lifer colony of the Tsivrixsh Empire nearby. They move into the atmosphere and wait.
Jennifer awakens from a three hour nap to find her daughter has done her work while she slept, quickly learning Genetic Engineering by looking at it. Xanatos and Erevis deliberate on what to do, deciding to jump and collect the away team. Tamara and Jennifer look over the jump data and begin to try and figure out what's wrong, bringing Isis and Megumi into the effort, primarily to get Megumi's expertise on spatial anomalies. The Carmichaels continue on with their genetic work while the Megumi faction looks into the jump data. Xanatos approaches Kyun about jumping into Tsivrixsh space, he plays hard ball, but in the end all Kyun seems to want is an admission on why they're going and exactly where. Xan finally shares the information and Kyun gives permission.
Megumi and Aya plot the course of the away team and decide they must have jumped through the Nyr black hole.

It's ten minutes past time for Cheryl's meeting, and the team sits around, perplexed at Cheryl being late. Peter supposes Cheryl actually took her advice and slept, to the disbelief of others. Confirmed when the sleepy looking blonde steps in, looking well rested and well sexed. Tabetha seems to have a new bounce in her step, or seat, unable to keep still, however, John calms her down as others snigger at Cheryl's sexy appearance.
Cheryl queues Peter to begin and he explains that over 200 attractive, female officers were all reported to have quit basic training and vanish, all with promising careers in EarthGOV. Four recruiters were linked with the women and they haven't vanished, but were fired for illicit practices. From what they can tell on this, it only really tells them that the people they are facing have some very demanding needs when it comes to women. Eluere presents her findings, 6 companies all named after Greek myths, all linked to the ill practices within EarthGOV lately. While these two hints don't seem to provide anything substantial, they scream one thing in common, Alexander Cran.
Cheryl then has Eluere set up an anti-listening device, which Tabetha seems to instantly know the code name for. Cheryl acts suspicious until even Cole points out it's the acronym for the name she announced it as. Cheryl moves on to announce that Kaleb is being ransomed for Cheryl's submission. The team, obviously protesting the answer to this demand, think up another plan. They opt to send Billy in, disguised as Cheryl, using technology from Tabetha and Eluere to help mask her.
Tabetha then tells them of her new dream, of how Dias is slowly becoming a monster of darkness. Cheryl relates her suspicion that the enemy has a Dark One to work with, one of Jennifer's children. The alter the plan slightly to look for hints of this kidnapped child. The team spends the next few hours plotting and planning.
Megumi enters the Famfrit Zone on a summons. There the elders, with even Noname gathered attempt to explain their belief that due to Athena's condition, that Megumi must me their prophesied goddess. Megumi refuses, explaining that Athena will be back one day and that she is far more likely the one they believe in. Megumi even points out that Gem could possibly be the target of the prophecy. It is then that Nuea, a third branch Famfrit makes her appearance for the first time.
Jennifer and Tamara continue their work, finding solutions for Humans and Atleans so far, but not for Tsivrixsh, Jennifer begins to explore alternate methods for them. Xanatos informs Jennifer that they're about to bring Ethan back, giving her a live specimen to look over for the cure. Jennifer speaks coyly and teases Xan about their relationship, which Tamara and Jen then discuss, convincing Jen to slow down a little in her dealings.
As the ship jumps, the Military unit sends Billy off the for ruse. Waiting at the base, the team waits for confirmation of the exchange. The event is relayed live to them, as Billy is forced to give herself up when the beautiful agent tells her that Kaleb has a chip in his head that will explode. Billy is taken up on a shuttle, and the teams are ported into the situation. Peter, Hale, Tabetha, John and Leira are sent to the ground to retrieve Kaleb, while the others all appear on the shuttle, fighting Dias for Billy.
The ground team secures Kaleb when Tabetha disables the chip, and have to face another agent who fires rockets at them from the trees. Disabling her, they move in, and the girl suicides, crying out the name Cran as she does. On the shuttle, the team fights Dias and attempts to subdue him, Marcus reaching Dias with reason, the entire thing is about to go to critical failure though, as other soldiers on the shuttle begin to try and take them all out. A mysterious, masked figure appears and takes out the shuttle, giving them all time to escape with a knocked out Dias. The figure, stronger then anything since Wind took their powers to create the new reality, vanishes in the shuttle's explosion, Elwyn fires a beam at the retreating hero, who is struck but otherwise escapes.
The away team is about to bite the dust due to three new Angel Ships that begin to attack them when the PAX arrives. For some reason, they ships flee from the PAX, and the team is brought aboard. People are reunited and Tamara kidnaps Ethan for experimentation. At the base, everyone licks their wounds while Vodka treats Dias, Katrina working on his mind. The group settles down to rest a bit as they seek answers.
Session 129: Feeling Within Darkness
Location: PAX
The virus runs rampant about the ship now, people getting worse and words. Jennifer continues to try to keep up with the treatments to stem the tide, while Isis suggests using mini black holes to cure the terminal patients. Things a wearing thin, as the ship makes it's way for the Nyr system to attempt the jump. They arrive and prepare to start the jump sequence, using Drasek as their battery.
When the jump completes, Jennifer reports in that the virus is gone. She continues however, asking Xanatos to send someone to check the school, having decided the virus was purposely set off in the ship for some reason. Before she can go on with something else however, Erevis sends the girl to bed, who has barely gotten any sleep since the sickness started.
The Military base is flooded with cute little kids, making Cheryl swear to never have many as people continue to recuperate from recent events. Peter joins Cole in his investigation while Lemon continues to do Cheryl's work while she is recovering from her wounds. Tabetha, having discovered she is the daughter of Hale and another human donor as well as Justice, attempts to get more information out of Katrina, who skillfully distracts the girl from further questions.
Eluere receives a request from Robert Steel, her current thing, to visit him at a museum. When they arrive to meet him, it explodes, Eluere comes to find Robert in critical condition and calls for help. The call reaches Peter, who it takes a while to decipher what he's seeing, but eventually understands, telling Cheryl, who has him ask Katrina and Marcus to go pick up the girls.
Cole and Peter call ready for a mission to look into a lead Cole got on Kane's whereabouts, only to call it off, then call it back on as the situations change. Eventually everyone is gathered, and Cheryl, not able to get instant permission to investigate the lead, one of General Steel's bases, has to turn a blind eye as the team "sneaks" out to go check on the facility themselves. Peter, Cole, John, Tabetha, Leira, Eluere, Curali, and Hale head out.
A few hours later, PAX is given the all clear, though not without the continued suspicion of some of it's crew. Nuea gets on the bridge finally and talks to Erevis, Nuea introduces herself as a new race and convinces Erevis to let her look around. Leyaeh assigns an Atlean to show her about the ship.
Peter's crew arrives at the site, a base surrounded by dense tree cover. Opting to go in quietly, Peter has them land outside the trees, asking Eluere to overcome the tree cover security. Her attempt fails, so instead of braving a highly secure jungle, the crew reboards the shuttle and goes in by shuttle. Before they go, John paints a Wraith insignia on the shuttle. As they go in, Eluere's hacking succeeds and she gains the ability to enter the group in as guests. They land, pretending to be Wraiths under Hale's leadership, and gain access to the elevators. Eluere keeps hacking and gets them access to the lab.
Down below, they walk into a chamber filled with NGD / Weapon hybrids, and General Blade standing over a catatonic Kane. Just as Blade spots them, Peter gets the signal for approval and declare the mission armed. The group breaks into a firefight with Blade and his guards, ending quickly and leaving Blade brain damaged and injured, a few tubes destroyed. Peter gives Cheryl the all clear and the team takes Kane home.
The group gathers back at the base. Rob Steel going to make a full recovery, asking to join the team. Blade under the knife and Dias still out, Kaleb doing fine. Lemon is reunited with Kane, and seeing their joy, John smiles in memory of Key, which causes Key's finger to glow, and reform into a Chibi Tsukiyomi. John takes her off for loving and Leira convinces Tabetha to wait to give even more good news for later.
Session 130: Moving Within Darkness
Location: PAX
The PAX prepares to jump back to Cartel space to continue it's mission and let the many angry people who want off, off the ship. The ship jumps and loses power, when everyone awakes they are in darkness. Emergency power kicks in on all the vital systems in engineering and medical, and Jennifer rushes to cryo to check on Athena, the machines there having failed. She comms the bridge in desperation as people feel about in the dark. Isis instructs her to bring Ao to medical, and there Ao uses a new device Isis has made to power the Cryogenics.
Isis rapidly works to fix things in Engineering, the power source of the ship having shut off the regenerate power due to the strain of so many jumps occurring so quickly. Power begins to come back to everyone's relief. What not many know is the fix comes through a whack to the generator from a very stressed and pissed off Isis. As the ship comes back online the crew begins to work to get people off the ship, while taking in eagerly awaiting boarders. Carter arrives back on the ship, much to Jennifer's relief. Nuea lets herself onto the bridge and causes a scene, leading Leyaeh to have to drag her to a teleporter and toss her into a jail cell until they can figure out what to do with the seemingly erratic and less then sane Famfrit.
The crew is called to a meeting, and gathering around a table, Erevis begins to lay out what has been troubling her. She has dreamt of a great sacrifice, and now she knows and understand what it is. The Angels have one disadvantage to the PAX, they rely on Hyperspace, where the PAX can Thirdspace. She will have to use the PAX to disrupt Hyperspace, crippling interstellar travel all over the galaxy, but also crippling the Angel Fleet from taking planets quickly. It is a heavy decision, one they choose to sit on for a while. Jennifer brings up the other problem, the trend of threats coming from within, and her own personal fears about the enemy using their people.
Xanatos points out the absurdity of testing every crew member, and Leyaeh compounds it noting that Jennifer has forgotten that every traitor to date has had only one thing in common, isolation. Corvin was missing for a week before arriving at the PAX, Chad kept to himself so much he was missing for a week at a time, and Dias was kidnapped at one point by a different enemy. The only other person to be gone for any decent length of time in the meeting is Carter, who's suspicion is negligible when he offers to help with the test. Throwing the idea out for now, Xan cautions Jennifer to not let her paranoia get the best of her, and the meeting disperses as people recover.
Leyaeh, still feeling there might be a loose end, checks with Isis to see if she really did order Carter a private shuttle. She confirms, ending Leyaeh's suspicions. Jennifer returns to work and tries to see if she can get some help in coming up with a way to find enemies before they appear, through her daughter's powers.
The Military crew gathers for a huge breakfast. Darien joining in on the festivities to greet Kane and hand over the job of President back over to him. Tabetha enjoys a little party of her own, having Hale, Leira, John, Chibi Key, and Justice with Rin there to spend time with her. Peter sits down with the presidents to joke around and Vodka joins him. When Cheryl steps in, accounting for most of the team in one place, Tabetha rises and announces to everyone that she and Leira have decided to be married. An awkward moment ensues, made slightly more awkward when Cheryl leaves rather then comment, Cole slipping out with Blue as well. Some congratulations are passed around, but it leaves the new budding psion with trouble in her head. Katrina comments to Marcus that she'll have to further her training with Tabetha, who's rushing with her new abilities a little too fast.
Kane and Darien discuss the situation, Peter piping in to bring Kane up to date on what everyone knows, and is shocked to find that Kane has already caught himself up in the short time he's been back. Eluere and Darien talk about Rob, and Curali declares herself a pure woman with no intentions of marrying anyone, making her Darien's favorite. Hale eventually wanders away and meets up with Cypher Gear, together they go out and pick up chicks. Cole shakes his fist as his new gear is jacked by the upstart newbie.
The Zhenmei clan gathers together in the living room of 1B, as Isis announces the plan she's been keeping secret and worrying people with. She has formulated a way to revive Athena, and with Progenitor help and an little Restoration Manifestation, she thinks she can clear the bullet, repair Athena's damage, and bring her back to life. Jennifer reveals that Ulieah has been training for the same thing, and invites her along for the project. Isis goes to rest up for the big attempt, and Jennifer lets Ulieah know the same. With luck, Athena will return to her family the following day.
Yet Darkness still looms. Dreams are still forming in several minds. There is far more to come, as Erevis has to make her decision, billions of lives lost, or none evermore.
Session 131: Falling into Darkness
Location: Being An Asshole!
Dawn has a dream in which a mirror shatters into dozens of shards; the shards each land on pictures of people Dawn knows - Aya, Zephyr, Xanatos, and others. As the shards glow, inside the broken mirror he'd see Athena laying still, not moving, and Ako standing over her, peering down.
Cheryl gets ready to leave, leaving Peter in charge of the base while she's out. Cheryl, Chii, Kellin and Lorelei teleport away to the PAX. As they leave, John and Cole suggest a party while the boss is out, and Peter gives the okay as long as they keep it to the mess hall. Before anything can happen, an alarm rings from medical. They all arrive to find Dias has awakened and is flailing about in resistance, soon after he stops, and awakens with a complete loss of his memory since before the first time he was taken. Preparations begin and Tabetha and Leira have a private chat with Key.
Cole and Blue chat about the future while Hale tries to chat up Peter while he takes on base duties. The groups begin to gather in the Mess Hall and Cole puts on a small concert for them.
Before Cheryl arrives on the PAX, the family gathers in 1B for breakfast. Ao arrives in a strange outfit, and Isis seems a little off put as usual. Ulieah has snuck into the family breakfast and divulges that Ao and Leyaeh have had sex. This causes quite an interesting reaction as the family finds Leyaeh moving way faster then usual, and Ao actually being intimate with another person to be quite odd. Ao ends up revealing that she unwittingly entered an engagement with Leyaeh, on top of it, Erevis has already started making arrangements to move the Cridhe Zone into Ao's space.
The group begins to head to medical, with everyone rested and ready to bring Athena back. Once assembled, with Cheryl there to see it happen as well, the process begins. Ao, Drasek, and Kellin provide Hyperspace power while Isis and Ulieah use Manifestation Restoration to heal her. The bullet is destroyed and her brain healed. When it's done, Athena is brought out of the tank and Jennifer confirms her health. Athena awakens with only the memories of her life before the Legacy intact, having forgotten everything else, as it seems. Jennifer keeps calm as she sets Athena up in a bed, and the family gathers around the revived girl. HUmming Kitty love seems to elicit a reaction from Athena, even as she rests.
Cheryl joins Chii, Ethan, Tamara, Kellin, Theron and Xanatos on a trip back to the Erus zone to scout out the Angel forces. They go expecting even more then 50 to be a terrible omen, instead they find hundreds, readying to jump to a new system for conquest. Xanatos and Cheryl begin to teleport survivors of Erus into the ship's teleport buffer, just as they get nearly 100 Erus, they try to jump and are struck at the same time, plunging into darkness.
At the mansion, Katrina finishes her scans on Rob to find what he's seen. Not much in detail, but Steel knowingly seems to be operating with a group which follows the 'rightful heirs of Earth', it all points to Cran. Peter and Katrina reason it out while the others enjoy their downtime, beginning to rest, while Cypher takes his new wingman, Hale, out for a mission of love.
While the rest of the PAX continues on their work, Kyun pages Leyaeh, warning her of a female Tsivrixsh who has boarded the PAX and is wanted by the Empire. He requests that she be handed over if found. As Leyaeh dismisses him politely, a woman is shot at in the hangar by mercenaries. The Guards quickly stun and arrest the mercs, and the woman hits a teleporter as she's shot. She appears in security, bleeding at Leyaeh's feet. Shretrav, former Ambassador of the Tsivrixsh Empire, begs for Sanctuary.
Session 132: Despair in Darkness
Location: PAX
Erevis and Leyaeh look over Shretrav, Leyaeh distraught at the moment. Erevis and Carter speak to her as she declares her anger at Kyun for the Mercenaries actions, wanting to move on her suspicions. Talked down after being reminded of her duties, Leyaeh calms and arranges extra security. Jennifer feeds Athena and Nuea a pile of tuna sandwiches.
Cheryl awakens in a shuttle with barely functioning lights. The team slowly revives in the dark and find they're cruising straight towards an asteroid. Cheryl and Chii exit the shuttle, forming a Gear and flying the shuttle to safety. Using Lorelei through their link, Cheryl and Chii locate the PAX. Zephyr uses her bond with Megumi to let the others know where to find them. Once back on the ship, people disembark and many head to medical, needing to chat in what has become the new conference area: Athena's room.
Erevis makes plain that now is the time they have to decide whether or not to disrupt hyperspace. They can no longer wait while the enemy is on the move. After debating and considering the consequences, they decide to go through with the plan. They agree as a group that they will have to work to save anyone caught out due to the disruption as they can, then the Progenitors Erevis, Ao and Drasek head up to the bridge to begin the work. Xanatos and Leyaeh interview Shretrav and they learn that Shretrav led a resistance against the new emperor of the Tsivrixsh Empire--Emporer Kyun.
Carter checking over the Erusians being cleared to stay on the PAX, discovers one with a bomb in it's head far too late to help. At the last moment, the Erusian is teleported off the ship, causing an explosion in the teleportation system. Tamara, who was standing on a teleporter is badly shocked, Jennifer and Ethan rush to treat her. As people work to recover, a Tsivrixsh comes into the medical bay, seeking a doctor. Leyaeh follows him to be sure it's a patient and not a threat, and winds up being told off by Carter for it. Arguing that she's only doing her job, the two go head to head, ending in Carter requesting she leave medical. Leyaeh makes it plain she'll be back to keep doing her job, but leaves Carter to stew.
Just as things quiet, the Progenitors finish their task, and with a slight shudder and a deafening noise from the bridge... the world is forever changed.
The Military Team is gathered into the conference room by Peter, who leads them in a discussion on the crisis. EarthGov believes it is under attack as Hyperspace travel has been knocked out, interstellar communications are down, and there is nothing but fear mounting. Tabetha is set to test the teleporters and sends a message to PAX, to find out if they've lost their leader or not. This results in a message returned and assurances given, Cheryl herself returning soon after. Kane sets his position that the PAX will be the ally of earth, and the team gets ready, as does the PAX, to face the future coming.
Session 133: Path into Darkness
Location: Mansion Base
Marcus and Chii awaken together in bed, naked and facing each other. One only knows what terrible alignment of planets brought this moment to us.
The rest of the innocent, uncorrupted group eats together in the mess hall, enjoying breakfast. Not part of an orgy the previous evening. Kane gets ready for his hearing to prove that he's not an evil imposter to the Senate. Peter sends a group of heroes out to protect him. John, Tabetha, Leira, Key and Hale to go out. After Curali shows she's aware of what's going on and prods Peter, he sends her and Eluere with them.
The group then departs for the Senate. On arriving, Cheryl goes to her own meetings and Darien takes Curali and Eluere with him to conduct business. The rest join Kane in his apparent personal hell (locked in a room with them) to wait for his turn. The girls scout the area while Kane tries to relax, Tabetha setting up holographic decoys by the window to fool snipers. They discuss what might be used against Kane while he is under the scrutinous eye of a bunch of angry old senators.
The PAX works on stress as it goes about it's business. It's latest business is beginning the rescue missions to collect people who have been lost out in space since the Hyperspace Crash. While Xanatos fields calls, the Progenitors take turns piloting the PAX through thirdspace to find these missing people, the PAX now the only force with technology to move faster then FTL Drives will allow. Gem suggests that Ulieah hold a concert to gain the love of the people, and calm them down, while Jennifer proposes her plan to fix Athena. Due to the risk of the plan, the family opts to hold off for the moment.
The protesters, those who want the PAX technology spread to all to allow them to use it, turn violent as they charge the barriers protecting PAX shuttles. Between Dawn's pastries and a salvo of unprejudiced fire from PAX security, the mob is toppled and many of it's people arrested. Dawn, Aya and some mobbers are brought to medical to be treated. Jennifer checks over Aya and Dawn to find that Aya is strangely healed from an obviously grave injury. She calls in Tamara to check her DNA, afraid that Aya's adaptive DNA Copy ability has returned. Dawn meanwhile has his hand fixed up.
Xanatos greets the Elder Erevis as she comes on board, rescued due to the Hyperspace Crash, along with her husband, the mysterious Mexican. She sends him away and has a private chat with Xanatos, and going with him to medical, learns of Athena's amnesia and her problems. Elder gives them a week to fix Athena before she threatens to take Athena with her to Earth, setting Jennifer down a path.
Back on Earth, just before Kane can go to his meeting, a rocket crashes into the room, blasting it. Taking out Tabetha's hologram. The group scrambles and decide to leave John with Kane. The rest pursue the assassin, and Eluere and Curali join in, using a satellite to hone in on the target. The Weapon uses Ripples and a multi-fire rocket launcher to combat them. Between Curali and Eluere as well as Leira and Key in Mech forms, and Hale and Tabetha battling in normal means, they overcome and injure the rocket assassin just as it escapes in a ripple. They track the rippler to a warehouse, where after some creative scouting, they find a way inside to the injured.
Just as they get there, more Weapons ripple in to evac their comrade and in a sudden pause by Key, the scouts Leira and Key are forced to flee as the place blows up. Peter and Cole fly in to collect the team and return home. Kane passes his trial and is reinstated President. The team returns home to brief and relax a little, licking their wounds with the promise of a meeting between Cheryl and Steel coming up, and a trap waiting for them, at least now they expect it.
Session 134: Grasping Within Darkness
Location: PAX
24 hours. 12 jumps. The PAX has been working around the clock to save everyone it can in this time of crisis. Athena tries to flee medical only to be foiled by Ulieah. Tamara determines that Aya's condition was caused by the child, who used copy power in connection to Aya's fear during the riot. As the PAX begins to jump to Earth, Jennifer is teased for her bust size and Ulieah defeats Athena in Kitty Magic. After the jump however, she is defeated in turn, cuddling a Megumi instead of an Athena. Jennifer explains again what she must do to fix Athena, and the outcome is too risky for the crew to want to take.
Cheryl leaves to attend her meeting as the others are left to figure out what to do for the day. Peter receives reports about three different structures which could be Ripple Points around where Cheryl is going to be snatched. Picking the only target with an underground escape, a subway station and warehouse, the group heads out there to try and cut off the enemy at the past. Peter mobilizes troops on the other two points as they enter the subway. They find a jamming field and a crowded subway station. At the last moment, Curali is buffeted onto the train by a crowd and Peter, trying to save her, is pulled on as well. The doors shut the the train starts to move, Peter getting stuck in the door and finding the emergency breaks are disconnected. The team leaps after him, the train speeds on.
Cheryl reaches a break in her talks with Steel and heads to Lunch. Only she finds herself surrounded by Ripples and taken. Chii and Key, with her as wife and 'daughter', follow by ripple and find themselves in a warehouse. Chii summons help and Key uses her powers. A struggle ensues and a masked Weapon takes Cheryl through another ripple, onto a train.
The team begins to recover and Peter orders them to the head of the train, finding the breaks suspicious. Curali finds the door locked and Tabetha finds it trapped, the hard way. As she tries to force the door open it explodes, injuring Tabetha. The team rushes from cart to cart as they disconnect. Turrets take down Vodka, hitting the pregnant Dragoon in the stomach. As they reach the cart where someone is fighting, Leira is left behind. Tabetha recovers and assured by John, rejoins the fight, which takes to the train roof as the train slows. The Weapon tries to take Cheryl off the train and winds up crushed under it as they others save Cheryl. The train stops and the defenses end thanks to Eluere.
The team recovers it's losses and heads home, but not before discovering Curali and Leira kidnapped by the enemy. When they return home, they learn that Vodka's child has been killed, as Peter goes to mourn, Cheryl learns their attacker was Nadia Vachevska, Peters now-ex-fiance. She swears the others not to tell him, and everyone takes a somber rest, trying to figure out what to do next.
On the PAX, Ulieah's concert goes underway and opens with Kitty Love, after which, Ulieah starts to play the Parent Song and the memories come flooding back to Athena. She falls into a coma due to the trauma of the sudden repair to her mind and Jennifer takes her off to medical. Ulieah continues the concert while Jennifer looks over her mind, determining Athena to be healthy. The family, at least Megumi, Erevis and Jennifer, gather around Athena to watch her as she dreams.
Session 135: Destruction Within Darkness
Location: PAX
Athena, having woken up from her coma over the passage of time, she now rests in 1B while Erevis organizes a party to celebrate. Jennifer goes to Security to pick up her children, Love and Cherry Lemonade, her other daughter Lilien having opted to stay on earth a little longer to learn from Elwyn, the fox goddess. The family, rapidly swelling as Jennifer finds her children and Leyaeh slowly solidifies a relationship with AO, meets to share a meal together. Sammael joins the meal quietly and shyly, to the surprise of the others, to find the girl who died ending the Legacy's future alive and well and with them once more.
Megumi becomes unresponsive when Athena looks to her for approval over the new children and the returned Sammael. Athena grows upset and departs from the dinner early with Cherry Lemonade, followed by Jennifer and Love. Sammael finds the group overwhelming and steps outside to wait on the meal to finish. News of the Cridhe's moving into 1C breaks out and due to Xanatos' prodding, Erevis changes the plans and the Cridhes lay claim to half of 1B, the entire clan of them. Making 1B a neighborhood as homes begin to expand rapidly.
Cheryl stands in a meeting with her team. Zephyr dolled up to look like the now missing Leira. They brief about their opponents, Wraith Squadron, Hale's old team. After he tells them all of these amazing NPCs, Cheryl introduces two more, new additions to the team under Steel, an explosives expert and a poisoner. As they begin to wrap up, an alert sounds, a shuttle moves to land by the mansion. Stepping out of it is Leira, the Elder Erevis, Heaven Carmichael and a strange man. They approach and after learning who the man is, arrest him.
The man is Angelos Cran, a clone-child of Alexander, created in the same fashion as Angela, a final version of the Omega Dragoon project. He confirms their suspicions and after toying with them in his cell a little, gives up the location of the base they are holding Curali in, having saved Leira himself. They take this information and begin to plan, but decide the assault cannot start till after the operations practice the following morning. Cheryl talks to this newfound brother, and after understanding his motives, allows Elder Erevis to join him for comfort to the man's tortured existence.
The teams divide up and participate in the operations game, where they have to defend a base against Wraith Infiltration. It quickly becomes apparent that it's not a game for some people. The demolitions expert and the poisoner actually trying to kill team members. While this occurs, Cheryl is snatched by Weapons, though not before Cheryl can kick the shit out of Steel for his betrayal. Key, Chii, Tabetha and John follow her through a ripple.
The operations end when Hale and Peter are able to talk the wraiths down and reveal the treachery. The Wraiths then join them. Just as they team is regrouping, Cheryl reappears with the others in front of them, having met Angelus and faced him, Key save pointing them out of danger and back to the others.
They get back to the mansion to find a giant hole blown out of it. Getting inside they find that Lemon has been taken, Elder Erevis wounded and Rob in critical condition. Angelos was also taken after putting up a fight to defend them, and Blue was killed. Tabetha and Cole bring Blue to the medical bay where Ferah decides to try using a Dragoon's spinal fluid to heal a dead human being. After some talking, Tabetha volunteers. The rest get ready to head out to the base Angelos told them of, hoping to end this once and for all.
Session 136: A Legacy Of Darkness
Location: The Shuttle
Two teams, the groups move in on Angelus' base. Darien takes a group under radar, teleporting in through Cole, while Cheryl leads a frontal assault as a distraction. Cheryl and Chii ride in as a Dragon while John, Peter, and Reno accompany her, riding in. As they crash into the battlefield, the group faces a legion of Weapons. Cheryl greatly reduces the ranks when she fires a beam of reality breaking power through them, and into the base, tearing it to pieces. As Cheryl struggles against Weapons and Mechs, a powerful mech slams into the fray, attacking Cheryl. The pilot's voice rings out, Nadia Vachevska seeks blood.
Peter joins Cheryl's fight with sniping, taking out Nadia's systems and eventually ejecting her from the mech. Cheryl becomes overpowered and is taken away by weapons. Leaving Peter, John and Reno to flee into the base. Nadia attacks Peter in a tackle which ends up in a pool of Nadia's blood when Peter kills her. Peter tosses a ton of grenades into the weapons, and a second trap blast of Cheryl's power in unison with that tears apart the forces as the three make it into the base.
On the PAX, the crew relaxes, 1B rapidly swelling in population with the inception of the Cridhe Clan and the sisters Heaven and Lilien joining the mix. Tamara plots to adopt her twin sister while Megumi finds herself surrounded in kittens. Robb and Sammael train to join the Engineering team, giving Isis a chance to sleep once in a little while. The team enjoys a quiet moment before more troubles come.
Darien's unit arrives in the base to find Curali and Lemon unharmed and led by Angelos. He then in turn leads the party towards Angelus' throne room, and Betas he plans to use in the battle. Before they can reach there, they come across Peter, John and Reno fighting off powerful robots. One injures John gravely while the others move in to strike as a team, taking them out one by one. Eluere collects data on them and Key fails to heal John, sending him back to the shuttle as the others move on.
Encountering another group of robots, Peter uses a sticky explosives to blow them apart, and the resulting explosion opens up a hole to the next area. The group presses on as Cheryl and Chii awaken in Angelus' throne room. Chii uses her new blade to slice through the enemies and summons aid. When a mysterious robotic Ninja arrives and starts to tear through Angelus' Weapon ranks. The others arrive to help and Angelus, standing on a battery, is burnt to a husk in the ensuing battle. The group safe, they must fight a falling building and save one another before teleporting out.
Once out, the Ninja is unmasked as Benjamin Carmichael, somehow alive since the Reality Redesign. Unable to convince him to stay and let Cheryl know when she wakes, the team lets him go and heads home to rest very weary bodies.
Back on the PAX, the domestic situation is starting to settle down as they crew runs across a craft in Tsivrixsh space. A team gets ready to go retrieve the single life form inside. As they ship out, Ao with Ethan, Dawn, Fiore, and a brave Red-Shirt. As they move out to check out the ship, Xanatos and Leyaeh escort Shretrav to a secure living space, the choice made to grant her asylum. They bring in Katrina to have her information tested and the two lock minds. As they pick up the pod, containing a Tsivrixsh girl, Dawn has a vision, where opening the pod will unleash a virus which within a day will kill every Progenitor on the PAX.
Session 137: Climbing Out Of Darkness
Location: Mansion Base
The team returns to the base. Peter rushes to comfort Vodka who reels from Nadia's death. Cheryl seizes as her overuseage of reality control overwhelms her. Angelos holds onto her, allowing Cheryl's level eating recovery to consume his power entirely, resetting him to a lowly height. Cole uses his teleporting, adding his touch to the drain, to get them to medical, losing his teleport ability in the process. The shockwave awakens Blue and Tabetha, Blue alive once more and perfect health, and Tabetha temporarily without the use of her legs.
Key finally heals John and Rob is restored. The team is able to finally relax and rest easy, knowing the threat of the Crans is past, even having gained one of them as an ally. Cheryl, refreshed and happier then she's been in a long time, celebrates with Chii, causing Angelos to lose it and celebrate with Erevis.
Ao is faced with a conundrum, they cannot bring the girl on board and they cannot leave her on the shuttle, which they soon discover is being infected with the virus which eats all of hyperspace. Hatching a plan to ditch the shuttle safely, the group gets in space suits, along with the confused and awakened Tsivrixsh girl, and jump to the Penal Colony the PAX crew had visited before. The PAX jumps to follow, Isis burning herself out for the jump as Sammael and Robb help her out.
The shuttle comes out of jump to space, and flies down to the Penal Colony. As they rush to land, an Angel ship appears and begins to attack. The shuttle lands and the pilot hits self destruct, and the group rushes out, carrying the wounded from the Angel Pursuit. Just as the Angels pass the colony shield and begin to fire, the PAX intervenes and Megumi blows up the enemy ship.
Once on board the crew deals with two problems. Katrina and Shretrav switched bodies during the jump, and those from the shuttle must be decontaminated. Between Ethan, Tamara, Aya and Carter, a cure is devised, but too late for Ao. The group figures out that they can use a transfer of energies to alleviate Ao's symptoms enough for the cure to work, and the little Dues Ex Machina known as Lorelei bounces in to use a Blood Pact between Drasek and Ao to make it so. Cheryl shows up to collect Lorelei, looking sweet, happy, and in a dress. She also comes to collect a serum for Angelos to help change him from what he was made to be, a breeder for Cheryl. It's then that Jennifer reveals she's known for a short time that Angelos existed, and believing in him, helped to make him the serum.
Things begin to lapse, over the next week, Steel is convicted of his crimes and sentenced to 25 years in prison. The Governments begin to settle down and work to make PAX a bridge between all worlds. The families of both the mansion and the PAX settle down and start to cope with everything that has occurred. Erevis holds court for the first time, it's first official case to affirm the adoptions of Heaven to Tamara and Lilien to Ulieah and Gem. The second a declaration that Jennifer cannot be with Athena after the date of the weddings scheduled without marriage, and then and there, Jennifer Carmichael proposes to Athena Zhenmei and she accepts. Megumi offers her hug of blessings. As the various couples move off, Love follow Megumi out of the court, asking her questions about science. The scene brightens, the darkness fades away, and this chapter ends.
