The Kingdom of Badelf:
History:
The Kingdom of Badelf did not form right away - it was part of a larger group called the United Elven Front. The United Elven Front, or UEF for short, formed after a terrible virus hit humans for 50 years on Tareh from 2490 AJ - 2540 AJ, leaving them least populated race after Elves and Azuha. The Kingdom of Navarro, perhaps the most devastated by the virus, and Matias after it, were ripe for the taken, and many elves, resentful at what the humans had done to them during the Era of the Gods (0 AJ - 2390 AJ) took advantage of this. While many elves were happy in the Kingdom of Nuege, the elves and halflings that were not part of that Kingdom and were roaming about attacked the Matias continent and the southern continents that had merged during the shifting of the land continents that had begun on Tareh for the past 150 years. They also managed to take most of Navarro's lands who was in no shape to stop their advancement. The UEF by 2600 AJ had become the largest Kingdom in Tareh. Due to their attacks and the virus, the Kingdom of Navarro's remants became the Kingdom of Gelus under the new King Gelus.
Drunk on the power of their rapid growth over the last 20 years of 2580 - 2600 AJ, the UEF grew for another 20 years, getting dizzy on their power and decided to strike out against human Kingdoms for revenge. They began with Gelus as it was the closest, but many elves did not want to do such a thing and it led to a 5 year civil war from 2620 through 2624 AJ. This devasted the UEF as elf and halfling killed each other. It was a terrible time, especially since halflings that had begun to be born following the Angelic War were no longer insane and only those born before risked going insane anymore and killing people. This brought back terrible memories for many and drove some of the original halflings insane that had not gone. In the end, it split the UEF Kingdom in two, and those who wished to continue lashing out against humans formed the Kingdom of Badelf, closest to the the Kingdom of Galus, while those who were sick of fighting formed the Kingdom of Blantress, wanting nothing to do with fighting again after the horror of the Elven Civil War. The elves who did not plan to stand for what the Kingdom of Badelf planned left altogether on ships with contempt for both kingdoms to aid the other races.
Badelf's war machine was left exhausted following the civil war and so it needed time to recover and with the human races and Azuha not wanting to trade, it found itself needing to trade with Blantress who traded with others. This meant it took longer to recover. It also was vulnerable to demon attacks in the following years and had to focus on trying to repel it with no help since Blantress stuck it's head in the sand. This led the elves in Badelf to learning how to be tougher and meaner and create unique ways to fight and kill. Elves and halflings trained at an early age in the army and the Kingdom became very militaristic. Badelf was ruled by a King like humans did and no democracy following the civil war and those who entered the army gained wealth and power, so many joined. Civil jobs were looked down upon and scorned, and those who took it only did so to keep things running despite law pay and poverty. However, if one in the family was in the army and another was a civil worker, then it evened out and this was how many families got by. If two were in the army and another was a civil worker, then life was made. So it became the more you offered to the service, the better off you were and the more you got for your civil work. It could become a baker with three sons in the military might make more than engineer with no sons.
While dealing with demons and the world until 2751, many forgot what the Kingdom of Badelf's ultimate goal was due to the events going on. Trade with other nations began eventually as they helped with the demon problems and were very effective. In 2700 AJ they even let the Guild of Wizards in as thigns were going on. However, in 2751-2780 AJ, a 30 year war with the Kingdom of Geus broke out that Badelf began. It was a bloody war that with the border going back and forth and soon split out into other kingdoms as they attempted to stop the aggressions. The Guild pulled out but the elves had what they needed - new magik techniques. After 15 years into the war and other kingdoms being involved to stop the military might of the Badelf Kingdom, the demons took this moment to attack the various kingdoms and create more chaos. It was finally brought to a standstill and while the Gelus Kingdom lost no land, they were heavily damaged in the fighting. The Kingdom of Badelf suffered a humiliating defeat and suffered severe trade restrictions. Hate filled their hearts as they suffered what they felt was an unsufferable ban.
It boiled over when in 2846-2850 AJ, the Badelf Kingdom began another war against Geus and Neer but was quickly brought down by all the kingdoms. This began what is called the Forced Check Era.
Recent History/Politics:
The Kingdom of Badelf doesn't have many allies; with trade agreements with the Kingdom of Blantress only, it has found itself embargoed with many nations. What secrets are lurking about? It's hard to say at this time.
The King of the Badelf Kingdom is known as Elesar. Their fleet is not very big, and is forced to trading ships; though there may be hidden war ships somewhere.
Update: After Celesia became queen, the volcano blew while Juliet's group tried to protect Badelf from the corruption inside and the ancient God Kagu Jr came out of it. This took out the majority of Badelf. It was also discovered to be the cause of the ruthlessness of Badelf's behavior, as their ancestors attempted to keep the corruption inside the leyline in the volcano and it corrupted their people. Now that the corruption is free, it is unknown how it will affect people.
