1) What is an ability?

Abilities are moves that enhance a character or influence their stats in some manner. An ability might be something like entering a hightened state of strength for a limited amount of time. Previously it may have been something like cooking or riding a horse, but those are now talents. An ability now are things that effect the character in some manner, even if it's healing their own body due to damage. Like skills, you can pick the list of abilities or make your own ability if the GM okays it.

2) The example:

Abilities can take energy, like the Slash example above, or it can be infuenced by other things. A regeneration healing ability might take both energy and stamina. It various depending on what is taken. There are unique racial abilities as well, but that is covered below. An ability could also be a special move that is not 100% attack based. Below is an example:'

Teleport: Lv. 1 - Wind activates his hyperspace to instantly transport from one location to another. The maximum distance is 100 meters. Energy Used: 5.

And like skills, the leveling up of abilities is the same:

Learn New Ability: 5 levels

Second Level of Same Abilityl: Five Levels

Third Level of Same Ability: 10 Levels or 5 Levels/Disadvantage

Fourth Level Of Same Ability: 15 Levels/Disadvantage, 10 Levels/2 Disadvantages, 5 Levels/3 Disadvantages.

3) Ability Limits

To begin with you have a limit of 10 abilities.

To gain a new ability slot, it takes either 20 levels or 10 levels and a disadvantage to your character overall. Certain abilities may increase talent or skill slots, depending. Few abilities effect other abilities.

The Abilities:

One final reminder: If you see an idea here you like but you want to develop it DIFFERENTLY, you can ask the GM and you might can work out something where you develop a different level system than what is included. It never hurts to ask. Sometimes I'm just not inclined to include 100 different possibilities. This system encourages you to make your own stuff.

1) Animal Whisperer: Those who learn this ability can speak to monsters in a manner that the monster can understand their intent of the words, and they can understand the monster's intent. This does not mean you can necessarily make the monster obey you, but you can at least try to get them to understand you, or vice versa.

Lv. 1: This allows you to understand Rank D/C monsters or baby monsters' intentions. You cannot influence them but you know what they are about.

Lv. 2: This allows you to understand Rank B/A monsters intentions. You cannot influence them but you know what they are intending.

Lv. 3: You are able to speak with lower ranking monsters (D/C) and baby monsters. You can get them to understand your intentions. Once you learn this particular level you can raise baby monsters to follow complex orders overtime. (Disadvantage if Taken: Sometimes the baby monster can be grumpy)

Lv. 4: You are able to try to force Rank B and sometimes A monsters to obey you. This does not always work. Better chance to work with higher Mind. Energy: 30 (Disadvantage 1: If you fail to get them to obey you the monster will get a free hit on you. Disadvantage 2: Sometimes your orders can be completely misunderstood and a teammate might be attacked - better them than you. Disadvantage 3: A monster can become more out of control sometimes)

2) Mark Mastery I: Once you have gotten up to Mark Level 2 you can begin taking this ability and the various levels. However, you have to pick and choose. I will simply list what all you can take and you have to decide what you want to focus on above all else.

Lv. 1: Mark Senses - Allowing you sense marks higher than your own anywhere in the world at any time. Or Mark Emotions - Allowing you to sense the true emotions of a mark user that's the same as you or lower.

Lv. 2: Emotion Defense: This allows you to protect your emotions from anyone with the same level or lower. Even if you fail you are alerted to their attempt. Or Thought Defense: This allows you to block your thoughts from anyone trying to invade your thoughts that are the same level or lower. Even if you fail you are alerted to their attempt.

Lv. 3: Thoughts in Mark - This allows you to sense the thoughts of those with marks higher than your own unless they have protection. If they do it becomes a versus game of their Mind stat versus yours. Or Mark Talk - This allows you to communicate with those with lower marks across greater distances than should be allowed. (Disadvantage if Taken: Sometimes things backfire and you are left vulnerable to whatever you took)

Lv. 4: Mark Mastery is a mysterious ability that I will not tell you what it does. Or Force the Angel allows you to force her to give you one mark raise no matter what level and it may grant you other additional options. Disadvantage 1/2/3: Unknown

3) Mana Fonts: Even if you are not a Mage you can use, if you have some Mana Points, to create a Mana Font to form a steady stream of mana for others. It can be varied for either one person use or multiple depending on how you want to go go about the four levels - speak with the GM about it if you are interested in developing the four levels. You can also add in elemental influences.

4) Coin Creation: Taking coins, from copper to silver to gold, you can transmute them from one to the other to create a new type of coin, though it costs a great deal of energy. The reason this is relatively empty is how you want to go about it and what stats you want to go put into making the transference as there's various methods to go about it - you can tie classes you might have or races or other means. Speak with the GM to see if you qualify or if you need to wait and boost certain stats higher.

6) Mark Mastery II: The continuation of Mark Mastery. You must have learned all four levels of the first Mark Mastery and be Mark Level 4.

Lv. 1: Mark Misdirection. You can use this to misdirect others in the mark that are one level lower than you or more. You can make them think you're elsewhere, or that you're thinking/feeling different things. If you are of a similiar mark level, the higher your mind the better your chances at midirection. (Or luck if you want to take your chances). Energy: 20

Lv. 2: Quicker (Angel/God) Magik Level Ups For Normal People. This skill will decrease the necessary exp needed to level up a magik level by half. This can be combined with the Angel Mark Lv. 5 'Quicker Magik Level Ups' and God Magik's Quicker Magik Level Ups as well. OR. 20 Free Magik Levels.

Lv. 3: 1000 Mana Points OR 10 Free Class Levels OR 1 free thing from all Angel Mark Levels up to 4. (Disadvantage if Taken: Sometimes random stats will drop down 50 points)

Lv. 4: Mark Insurrection. You can use this to undermine someone else in the mark to try to get Jean not to keep increasing their marks, or possiblely even remove it from the person in question. You have to live with the consequences of this action. It can only be done one time on one person. (Disadvantage 1: The Angel may focus on your Mark Disadvantages first in battles. Disadvantage 2: If you have hidden true intentions they may come out to the angel. Disadvantage 3: Sometimes your mark advantages may fail completely)

6) Mark Mastery III: The continuation of Mark Mastery II. You must have learned at least the first three of the four levels of the second Mark Mastery and be Mark Level 6. You will have to pick one of two options each level like before.

Lv. 1: Clues - you are given more clues inside Jean to help navigate the memories and puzzles. You are given a limit of 3. Or Mark 7 Clues - this gives you clues on how to raise you mark to Lv. 7 and what you need to say to Lorelei to convince her.

Lv. 2: Mark 8 Clues - this gives you clues on what you need to raise your mark to Mark Level 8. Or Mark 8 Disadvantage Help - This allows you to get an advantage without one disadvantage; for example if you pick four advantages, you have to pick three normally; with this learned you only have to get two.

Lv. 3: Mark 9 Clues - this gives you clues on what you need to raise your mark to Level 9. Or Mark Level 8 Advantage Help - This allows you get a fifth advantage instead of the max of four. (Disadvantage if Taken: Sometimes Jean may act hostile towards you for no reason and make things difficult in raising the mark, require pacification)

Lv. 4: Force the Angel II - if you took the Force the Angel, you can take this. This will allow you to force her to raise your mark level one time up to Level 9. Or Mark Mastery II - If you took Mark Mastery before, you can take this. It grants certain unknown abilities like before that you will learn about once you take it from the GM. Disadvantage 1, 2, 3: Unknown

7) Tracing: Tracing is a unique type of magik that relies heavily on imagination, though it can be brought about through various means. The prerequisites are listed below. Tracing brings forth a weapon, or item, from existence through great energy and mana. It takes a combination of both. You can slant it to take more than one depending on how you build your levels though. The item or weapon made has to be seen and felt by the person beforehand to get a feel. Typically, the prerequisites are as following: Mind 100/Perception: 60 OR Magik Defense 140/Magik Offense 160 OR Luck 130/Mana 3000 There may be other combinations or classes, if you bring it to the GM and ask or make your case, he may even agree. The levels are then created by you, brought forth by how you want to proceed with the tracing - the tracing is not an attack, but something that makes items/weapons, with each level making something progressively more detailed and powerful, up to tier omega.

8) Psionic Adept Abilities: You can take this once you have learned Tier 5 of the Psionic Adept Talent Tree. This allows you access to the abilities below.

Lv. 1: If you strain your mind hard, you can hear thoughts of those close to you, but they will know you are doing so. You are only picking up their surface thoughts. Energy: 10

Lv. 2: If you focus very hard, your friends are unaware you are reading their surface thoughts. Energy: 15

Lv. 3: If you focus very hard, you can read the surface thoughts of others without being detected. Energy: 20 / Disadvantage: Sometimes you are detected.

Lv. 4: You are able to read the surface thoughts of others you are not familiar without with trying that hard and straining yourself. Energy: 30 (Disadvantage 1: You are sometimes detected. Disadvantage 2: Sometimes your thoughts are transmitted instead. Disadvantage 3: Sometimes you are left mentally vulnerable to attack.)

After this point you can create your own psionic abilities to fit your character.
